Running From Eden Page 8

by T. Cobbin

“This is where we will be sleeping?”

“Yes, dear. This is Charlie’s wing. We didn’t know about the baby until it was too late, we had a swinging crib in the old nursery but no mattress, so we made one up of several blankets. I hope it’s soft enough for him. I have a maid now running out to get a mattress for him.”

“Wow,” was all she could utter at first, then her brain kicked in. “Thank you. I could never imagine ever being in a place like this.”

“It’s your home for as long as you need or want.” Poppy walked over to the crib and placed the sleeping Zoran inside it. After checking to make sure he was resting peacefully, she went over to Eve and held her in her arms. “You make my son so happy, that’s all I ask for. Sleep for a while. You’re safe here—we will make sure of that.”

Tears fell over her cheeks as she began to sob. “Oh God, what have I brought to your doorstep? I love Charlie so much and you are wonderful, I don’t want to cause any problems.”

Poppy looked into her eyes while cupping her cheek. “None of this is your fault. You didn’t ask those people to create you. You never asked to be born. You fell in love and wanted something that was real. You have a family now, sweetheart.” The woman smiled and kissed her forehead. As she walked out the door, she turned before closing it and chuckled. “Anyway, I love a good fight.”

Climbing into bed a little later, she lay watching Zoran resting in his crib. Would he be safe? What kind of life would he have?

Eve stirred from a light sleep when she felt Charlie’s arm come around her waist. He spooned against her, pulling her body tightly against his. She hadn’t realized she’d drifted off.

“I love you,” was all she heard before sleep claimed them both.

It was Zoran who woke her next. The hungry infant was unhappy and wet. Picking Zoran up, she glanced around and saw the go bag sitting in a chair. Charlie must have brought it up when he came to the room. Grabbing the bag, she sat on the bed, careful not to wake Charlie, and changed then fed their little man. She still felt shocked at seeing the tiny bundle in her arms.

“He’s a hungry soul.” Charlie stirred beside her, his eyes sleepy as he looked at their son.

  “What are you doing awake?”

“Some young man decided to plant emotions of happiness inside my head.” He laughed. “I woke up to find him quiet contently sucking on your wonderful breast.” He leaned up and planted a kiss on the baby’s head. “My boy wanted to include me in his delight.”

“Did you manage to sort out the press stuff with your father last night?”

“He does smell sweet, doesn’t he? And yes, we did. The press will be arriving about five o’clock this evening. You and Zoran will be inside and away from any windows until we know for certain it’s safe. Then I’ll come get you, and Mum will look after Zoran. We don’t want to bring him out at all.”

“We are really doing this? Oh Charlie, so many are at risk here.”

“I know, but Father phoned Brewster last night. Ever since I told my parents about you and our escape plan, they’ve been worried. So they contacted a few friends. Brewster Stone is a government official, and he’s been looking into Eden. They’ve managed to do quite a bit of recon, finding out about the place and how it’s set up. They created a plan, and last night they put it in motion.”

She didn’t know she had started crying until a single tear plopped onto Zoran’s head. Wiping it away, she took a deep breath. It wasn’t time to give up now. Come on, girl, you’ve been through worse. It was the thought of Charlie and his family, and now hers, in the firing line that had her crying.

“Remember I have a hard head, and I got it from my family.” He smiled at her while pointing to the gash on his head.

With Zoran finally asleep again she placed him in the crib and kissed his head then went back to join Charlie in the bed.

“Will you love me?” she asked, crawling into his arms.

“I wish I could but you just had a baby yesterday, sweetheart.”

She groaned and wished he could bury himself deep inside her. She could already feel his erection pushing against her stomach. Pulling away from his arms, she slithered down the bed. Placing a hand through the slit in his boxer shorts, she grabbed hold of his cock and began stroking it. She still marveled at the velvet texture against a hard surface. His hips thrust into her.

She placed a hand over his stomach, pushing him down, and ran her tongue up the underside of his penis. He hummed, and one of his hands curled into her hair. She sank lower on his shaft, running her tongue under the rim and down. His hand clasped tighter. Entering his mind, she knew just how he loved his cock sucked. Moving up and down, sucking and licking, she moved faster. She got the first taste of his seed as it spurted. He groaned and thrust his cock to the back of her throat. She sucked and licked him dry before he pulled her up and ravished her lips.

  “I love you,” she said.

“Sweetheart, the love in my heart for you is overflowing.”

She smiled and planted a kiss on his nose. “Breakfast?” she asked. “I really fancy a walk too...can we?”

“Yeah, I think my father has enough land to do that.”

  Chapter 17

Eve thought leaving the baby behind with Charlie’s mother was hard, but this was damn near impossible she thought as she faced a pack of photographers and TV personalities. As soon as she had stepped foot out of the door cameras flashed and questions were screamed at her.

When they came back from their walk they had eaten, and then, with Zoran in her arms, they all sat in the library talking with Brewster Stone and a male doctor who had been asked to come along to do a few noninvasive tests and to get a DNA sample from Eve.

Brewster was a plump, well-spoken, elderly man. He had sat calmly next to her, asking all kinds of questions. In his head she found out that at first he hadn’t believed anything like this could take place, but after a few months of investigating he began to believe it. Hearing firsthand details from both Eve and Charlie, he was astounded.

The doctor was more than fascinated. He wanted to do more tests, treat her like the lab rat she was. After Eve had muttered to Charlie what the man was thinking he’d been asked to leave the room and was escorted from the property, leaving Eve to relax a little.

Brewster had explained that when he and several other government officials were told they had sent immediate surveillance out and had confirmed that there was some sort of hidden facility there that no one knew about.

Brewster also explained that there were teams set and ready to go in at his notice. The reason for moving so fast on it all was of course Eve and Zoran. They would be at risk no matter what, but to take the threat down they at least would be able to have some kind of life, even if it turned out to be in front of public eyes.

An hour before the press was due to arrive, Brewster set up a laptop and they watched as several teams of men clad in black headed into Eden. Eve watched with wide eyes as both the main gates and doors were blown in simultaneously. The teams went through Eden, taking down scientists one after the other. The ones that didn’t show any threat were handcuffed and held down on the floor at gunpoint, the others were shot.

They watched for the next hour as the teams rescued ten other test subjects that were still alive. One of them was the woman in ICU Henrietta had spoken about. The men went through as much paperwork as they could. The women like Eve were led away by a group of specialized women who had been trained to help long-term female hostages; they were going to be taken to a safe area away from all prying eyes.

Charlie held Eve tightly in his arms as she watched through tear-filled eyes as the women hit the sunlight. She knew exactly how each one of them felt at being free.

“We did it right?” she asked.

“So far we have, but you all have a long way to go yet, as do we.” Brewster nodded at her.

Eve had plucked up the courage to ask Popp
y to see a doctor. She had gone through the pregnancy not seeing one at all, but she wanted one that was going to treat her as a person and not a thing. Poppy obliged and three turned up before the press did. Scanning each of them, she turned doc one and three away and kept number two. He asked several questions and checked over Zoran too at her request.

“He is an amazing little boy. I can tell you the sight of no belly button is really strange, but I honestly see nothing wrong with him at all. He is a healthy, seven pound baby. And for him to be born at a guess of four and a half months, and for both of you to be so healthy...” He shook his head. “It truly is amazing.”

She thanked him and agreed that he could be a permanent fixture in their lives, but only if their details weren’t leaked to anyone. She’d already scanned him, however, and found he was a loyal man.

By the time five o’clock came Eve was emotionally tired, and she could feel the exhaustion coming from Charlie too, but it had to be done here and now. While the men went outside and told the press about Eve’s story and the fact that it had led to an underground hidden scientific complex, which was taken down not an hour ago, Eve fed Zoran and held him for dear life, trying to relax. Poppy was a great help, sitting with her and chatting away, even making her laugh with stories of Charlie growing up.

“What will happen after the press has gone? Where will we go?”

“I was hoping you might want to stay here with us. We have a whole lot of empty rooms. We have high walls and security men around the property, and the men can be employed on a permanent basis to make sure no one gets near the house. I’m sure Charlie wouldn’t mind staying here. He still has his own wing in the place, and both of you can come and go as you please. We won’t interfere at all but will always be on hand if you need us. I do know one thing though, Charlie will go anywhere you will.” She smiled, patting Eve’s arm.

“If he agrees, that would be wonderful.”

They were interrupted when Charlie entered the room, telling her it was time to go. Handing the baby over to his mother, she straightened her shoulders, and holding Charlie’s hand, she walked outside.

The questions from the reporters came hard and fast.

“Eve, is it true what these men are saying—you were a test subject?”

“What kind of tests did they do?”

  “What are you?”

“What are you able to do?”

  “Are you dangerous?”

  “Can you have children?”

Eve didn’t know what to say, so she decided to demonstrate her abilities. Looking around, she zeroed in on various small objects each of the people in front of her held, then used her telekinesis to pick them up and hold them above their heads. The crowd went instantly quiet, enough to hear Charlie begin to chuckle. She dropped each item and began to talk before they did.

“As these gentlemen have told you, I and a group of other females were created by a team of scientists. I am not dangerous to anyone. I have no desire to hurt any human being in the slightest. I was kept underground for twenty-two years of my life with the same routine day in and day out. I spoke only to a group of scientists and wasn’t allowed anywhere on my own at all. Several teams entered that complex today and rescued several other women like myself and they have now been escorted somewhere safe. All we ask is if you have any questions please direct them to Brewster Stone and his team and leave myself and the other women to live in peace. Thank you.”

She was shaking so bad she stumbled, taking a step back, but Charlie was there to catch her and hold her in his arms. She knew from what the others had said the press would never leave them alone, but if she was brave enough to step inside the limelight, the other women might get some kind of privacy.

Holding her close to his side, Charlie led her inside the house. They had started the ball rolling, it was just the beginning. Charlie shut the front door, pushed her against the wall, and kissed her hard.

“Sweetheart, I am so proud of you right now. In fact, I have been proud of you since the day I met you.” The muscles in his arms twitched as he held her gently.

She looked deep into his eyes and saw the love he had for her shine as bright as the sun when it rose.

He knelt in front of her, his eyes never leaving hers, and produced a box from the back pocket of his jeans. Opening it, he asked, “Eve, will you marry me and be mine for as long as we both shall live?”

She knew all about husbands and wives from the books she’d been allowed to read. She had so often dreamed of living the life she was now—free and loved with a family of her own.

“First, tell me this is real. Tell me I’m not stuck in a cell, dreaming all of this.” She frowned at the man still kneeling in front of her when he pinched a piece of skin on her thigh. “What did you do that for?” she asked, annoyed.

“Letting you know it’s real.” A smirk crept on his face. “So will you marry me?”

“Yes, yes, yes.” She laughed, lowering herself down onto her knees and putting her arms around his neck. “You know I come with baggage, right?”

“I’m strong enough to take that, baby.” He placed the thin gold band with three diamonds set in it on her finger then took her lips in a passionate kiss. Her nipples tightened to stiff buds and her pussy moistened in preparation. She shifted her hips, trying to get closer to the erection in his pants.

“The doctor doesn’t know how or why, but he says you could put that to good use,” she said as a smile filled her face.

“Oh, really? Where is Zoran and how long before he needs feeding?” he asked, pulling her to her feet.

“He’s happy with his grandmother, and Eve fed him just before she went out, so say another three to four hours,” Poppy’s voice came from behind them.

Not only did Eve start to blush, but her freckles came to life and lit up as well, causing Charlie to chuckle. Pulling Eve toward his mother and their son, he kissed both and let her do the same, then quickly ran, dragging her behind him to their room.

“Thanks, Mum,” he called out as the door shut.

Eve felt herself slam against the wall instantly with Charlie’s mouth over hers. It seemed like so very long since she had been close like this to him. How other women suffer weeks of not being with their man she would never know.

She wrapped her legs around his hips, grinding her core against his hard shaft.

“I want inside you,” he groaned.

  “Me too. Please, Charlie.”

She had worn a dress to the press interview so it was easy enough access for him after he’d ripped her panties from her body. She fumbled along with him to undo his belt. He growled in frustration then cheered when it finally came undone and he was able to slide his jeans and boxers to the floor. Kicking them aside, he carried her to the bed. He kissed along her neck, laying her gently down before him, then moved lower to kiss her ample breasts that seemed to have grown overnight to the size of melons. He nibbled at each nipple, licking his tongue around each one then blowing a stream of warm air over them. They were a little more sensitive than normal.

Her legs tightened around his hips. “Charlie, if you don’t get inside me, I’ll scream,” she panted.

He pushed a hand between them and ran a finger through her wet folds, running up and over her clit, making her gasp.

  “Charlie!”

“Yes, baby, I know. Hold on to something, ’cause this is going to be fast. It feels like it’s been forever since I was inside you.”

The head of his cock entered her pussy gently, and he pushed forward slowly. She moaned in pleasure as he carried on until he finally hit home.

“So good.” He groaned and gritted his teeth. Pulling out, he again thrust back in. “I’m not going to last long, baby.” He closed his eyes, drawing in a deep breath.

“You won’t hurt me. Harder. Please.”

He withdrew and surged in again, just a little harder this time. His hips rotated and undulated faster. She wrapped her le
gs around his waist and pressed against his arse. His balls drew up. A few more thrusts and a pinch of her clit and her walls squeezed the seed from his cock as he came with her, her name on his lips.

He grunted. “Feel me, baby.” He pulled back slowly and paused, kissing her again, thrusting his tongue as he would his cock. “Mine, all mine,” he whispered in her ear, licking the shell.

He pushed in slowly this time, and she could feel every inch of his cock as it slid deep inside her.

“I can’t do it slow, baby. I’m so sorry.” He pulled out and thrust back in.

She wound her legs hard around him, pushing against his butt. “Move then, damn it!”

“Ooh, swearing. Oh yes, so tight. I never want to leave. Fuck, this is good. I feel it, baby. Oh yes, so good! It’s coming, sweetheart.”

His thrusts became harder. With her telekinesis she pinched her clit, flying over the cliff and taking Charlie with her. He thrust deep and hard and stiffened as his seed shot inside her.

  Epilogue

Christmas had come and gone, another season and celebration that Eve reveled in. She thought the snow was as beautiful as a sunrise. She had been just as fascinated by the lights and sparkles as Zoran had been. She still hated television but loved the books Charlie had given her. As a Christmas gift to her he had turned one of the rooms in their wing into her own private library and had filled it with books. She spent many hours in there when she wanted to be alone. She had still to get used to being around people so often.

Zoran was about seven months old now with chubby cheeks and a long matt of jet black hair. His stage developments was very much the same as any average child, which seem to please those around them. Charlie had been worried that since the pregnancy had developed a lot faster than normal he might grow up that way too.
