A Mad Reed Security Christmas

“Could you give me a ride home?”

He just stared at me, his mind seemingly calculating something. I shifted nervously, not sure what to say or do.

“Stay,” he said quietly. My heart stopped in my chest. I could swear I was either having a heart attack or I’d had the wind knocked out of me. Right now, it was very possible that it was either.

“Maybe that’s not a good idea,” I said hesitantly.

He sighed heavily, and it made me think that this was not only difficult for him to say, but the decision itself was hard. “I’m willing to try. I know that I come with all kinds of baggage, and you know I’m already…with my body…”

“It doesn’t matter,” I said quickly.

“It does. And I’m not really ready to deal with any of that yet, but you’re right. I don’t want to be alone anymore, and I don’t want that for you either.”

“So, we’re trying to be together.”

He nodded. “Let’s just take it one day at a time. I know I’m gonna be a pain in the ass, but it’s Christmas. And if there’s ever a time to take a chance with someone you care about, it’s now.”

Well, how could I deny a man when he spoke like that? No, it wasn’t flowery or Shakespearean, but it was real and all Coop. I took his hand and let him lead me back to his room. Kayla had already gone to bed, so I wasn’t worried when he led me to his bedroom.

He shut the door behind him, flicking the lock. My heart pounded in my chest, making me feel excited and nervous all at once. Sure, we had done this before, but the last time he kicked me out. What if he changed his mind again when it was over?

“I’m not going to,” he said as he slowly stalked toward me. “I know what you’re thinking, but I won’t change my mind.”

I nodded, and tried to swallow the cotton-feel in my mouth. Suddenly, it was like I couldn’t breathe around him. He just did something to me that made me shake with need and feel completely out of control. And now we were really doing this.

He pushed me back on the bed and slowly kissed me, pushing my hands up over my head. He didn’t want me touching him. But I was okay with that for now. We’d get there. I gasped when his lips latched onto my neck and sucked. My body clenched with desire and I felt alive for the first time ever. He caressed my body, setting it on fire with his touch. He was gentle, but commanding as he slid his finger down my body and pulled my clothes off me. I shivered as his hand skated up my thigh and brushed lightly over my pussy.

I locked eyes with him for just a moment before he dipped his head, and then it was pure bliss. His tongue flicked and licked at me until I was writhing and begging for release. And then he was on me, kissing me hard and slipping inside me. His cock filled me too much and I tried pulling away, but he held my arms tight. He stared at me, his eyes willing me to calm down and just let my body adjust. I wasn’t sure why this time was so much different, but it was and it took everything in me to remember that this was Coop and there was nothing to be nervous about. Whatever came, he was with me now and I needed him.

He slowly started moving, never breaking eye contact with me. I ached to run my hands over his arms or feel his hair running through my fingers. Something flicked in his eyes, and then he really started moving, grinding his pelvis into mine, rubbing against my clit until I was splitting apart and taking him with me.

His body was heavy on top of mine, but I didn’t want him to move. I wanted to stay like this forever with him. When he rolled off of me, fear took over and shame washed over me. He was going to kick me out again, and I had been stupid enough to believe that this would be different. I sat up in bed, pulling the sheet up to cover me, but his big, beefy arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me back down.

  “Where are you going?”

  “I just…”

“Forget about it. You’re spending the night with me. And every night after.”

  “You’re sure?”

“I wouldn’t have asked you to stay if I wasn’t sure. I’m serious, Becky. I’m not going anywhere.”

I laid in bed with him, relaxing into his touch. His thumb moved lazily up and down my stomach, just barely brushing my sensitive skin. Slowly, I started to drift off.

When I woke up, it was still dark out, and I suddenly wanted to go see the Christmas tree again. I slipped from the bed, careful not to wake Coop up, and pulled on my clothes. I wound my way back to the living room and smiled when I saw the tree still all lit up. I sat down in a chair and stared at the beautiful decorations. The fake fireplace gave the perfect glow to the room, making it feel like I was truly at home once again. I remembered sneaking out of my bed at night to stare at the tree. Sitting here now made me feel like they were still with me, and I wasn’t all alone. Well, I wasn’t technically. And if Coop was serious, I might never be again.

“Hey.” I turned around to see Coop walking into the room. “I thought you left.”

“No, I just wanted to look at the tree.”

He scooted me over and pulled me onto his lap partway. Together, we sat and stared at the tree and just enjoyed the silence. He wrapped his hand around mine, twining his fingers with mine. I couldn’t help but stare at his strong fingers and remember what he had just done to me.

“Stop,” I giggled. There was something so sensual in the way his fingers played with mine. And then his hot breath was fanning across my neck and his hand was slipping down my stomach.

A clearing throat had us jerking apart. Cap was standing behind us, an amused expression on his face. “While I’m glad the two of you finally found your way to each other, maybe defile each other someplace where little kids won’t be in just a few hours.”

“What are you doing here so late?” Coop asked Cap.

“Bringing presents. Remember, Alec and Florrie threatened us with death if we didn’t have presents for Reid?” He looked over to the tree and tilted his head in confusion. I looked where he was, but I didn’t see anything wrong.

  “What?”

“Where did all these presents come from?”

“Didn’t everyone else bring them?” I asked.

“No, I was the last one here and none of these were here.” Cap and Coop shared a look and then I was practically tossed off Coop’s lap as they ran for the door.

“What’s going on?” I asked, running behind them.

“If none of us put those presents here, then someone else did. Which means we’ve had an intruder.”

“That dropped off presents?” I laughed. “You know how ridiculous that sounds?”

“Maybe they’re not presents,” Coop replied grimly.

I followed them upstairs and ran for the IT room. I looked over all the video footage from the time that everyone left and on. One minute, the presents weren’t there, and then they were. I couldn’t figure out anything.

“There’s nothing here. They just appear.”

“That can’t be. It has to be a loop or something,” Cap insisted. I paused what I was doing when I heard a jangling.

  “Did you hear that?”

“What?” Cap asked, pulling his gun from behind his back.

  “It sounded like bells.”

Coop and Cap both had their weapons out and quickly walked through the floor we were on, clearing all the rooms, but no one was here. And then I heard it again. Moving to the window, I looked outside into the falling snow. And then something flew past the window in the distance.

“What the fuck was that?” I shouted.

Coop and Cap came running over, pushing me to the side. We all stared out the window, and then it appeared again, just in the moonlight. The bells were loud and clear, and there was the unmistakable sound of Ho, Ho, Ho. We watched as it flew off into the night and disappeared.

Stepping back, I swallowed hard, my eyes flicking back and forth between the two men. “It couldn’t…”

“No,” Cap shook his head slowly. “I don’t…”

“But if it was…” Coop said, eyeing us warily.

p; We stared at each other for another moment, and then we ran back to the panic room, and over to the Christmas tree that was stuffed with at least three times the presents that were under there before.

Cap and Coop both passed out and I sat down and watched the tree some more. It seemed that I got everything that I wanted for Christmas this year.
