“Daddy, what are you doing here?” She asked.
“I knew this would be the only way I could show you I was sorry for the way I acted. I’m not okay with you dating your high school teacher. I’m not okay with tearing our relationship apart because of it either.” He touched her chin and she dropped all the clunky armor she wore to protect her heart. “Please forgive me, Kristabella. There was a better way to go about everything.” I watched them hug, then I watched at Mrs. Lucas joined in.
I realized, Krissy was right too. Joel and Carmen Lucas didn’t hate each other. They didn’t seem like two people on the brink of divorce. I could see how she was thrown for a loop when she learned they weren’t together.
“So, how about this, we’ll all sit down for a crazy awkward dinner and then we’ll let you two talk but Bella, you have to come home,” Mrs. Lucas insisted. There was no wiggle room in her tone and Krissy knew it so she nodded her head and sat down.
The entire time we ate, I felt her light brown eyes on me. Every time her parents stole glances at each other, she stole glances at me. The look in her eyes was unreadable though.
It wasn’t until we were alone was I able to unravel her expression.
“Matt, what the fuck is going on?” She asked the moment her father and mother left.
“I wanted to fix things with your parents. Well, I can’t fix it per say but at least I smoothed it over. It’s not the shit show it was last week.” I put dishes in the dishwasher and wiped down the countertops.
“Matt, what the fuck are you doing? What is this? Why didn’t you invite my parents to your house if you were going to do this? Why are you here cooking dinner and washing dishes and…” her voice broke and emotion coated her words. It was thick and raw and it made my throat constrict with the need to hold her.
“Why are you dangling this in front of me like we could actually have something? Why are you treating this house like it’s ours? Why are you treating this relationship like it’s real? If you’re going to let me go then let me go.” Her eyes were red and they matched the tip of her nose.
I put my hands around her biceps, squeezing. “Baby girl, I’m not letting you go. I never intended to let you go,” I told her.
“But—but I heard Liam tell you to explain to me why I wouldn’t see you anymore,” she stammered.
“And he was clearly very fucking right,” I sighed, shutting my eyes. I backed Krissy against the wall near the stove and slid my nose back and forth across hers. “I could never leave you or take a break from you. Krissy, I applied for the engineering job.” My heart sped up telling her about the huge risk I took submitting my application to Chevron.
“You did what?” She asked.
“I applied. You were sleeping in my lap and all I could think about was how I wanted to be able to give you the world. I wanted to show the same bravery you always show. I wanted to match your tenacity and strength.
How could I be your man if I didn’t give you something to follow? How could I ever tell you to go for all the things that scare you if I never did the same thing?” I touched her soft cheek and rested my forehead against hers, sliding my hands to her hips.
“Did you get the job?” She asked, her voice small, her beautiful eyes closed.
“I got the job, baby girl.”
A pent-up breath rushed from between her parted lips and she opened her eyes. “Congratulations, baby.”
“Thank you. That’s why you won’t see me anymore. I have to start my new job before the school year is up. Before you graduate.” Krissy’s throat did that thing where it dips when she swallows and it still drove me insane.
My mouth dropped to her neck and I groaned as my tongue slid along her skin. She was my favorite thing to taste. It was always her.
“I’m so goddamn stupid,” she laughed through tears of relief.
“You’re passionate,” I told her, breaking the suction on her neck. I’d already left a bruise.
“Matt, the thought of losing you makes me go fucking nuts. I start jumping to conclusions and shit. I’m insane.”
“I’m not arguing with you. You’re batshit. I love you though. I’m in too deep to let you go at this point.” I pinned her hands above her head creating a gap between her shirt and her jeans, baring her flat stomach.
“I’m going to miss you at school,” Krissy said quietly.
“I know. That’s why I was going to ask if you wanted to maybe…move in with me. We’ll call it a soft move in because you have to stay with your parents until you graduate but after that…”
“After that, I’m bringing all my shit and dropping it in your living room,” she laughed. I missed that sound so much. I let her hands go and wrapped my arms around her in a hug.
“Most of your stuff is already at my house though.” I held her hand and kissed the back of it while she regarded me with confused eyes.
“I took my things out of your house when I left to go to Riri’s. It was only a bag anyway.” I stared at her for a moment feeling the gravity of what I was about to say. I took her hand and walked with her into the bedroom.
“These sheets…they’re yours, right?” We walked into the master bathroom next, “These towels are yours and so are the washcloths. So is the toothpaste and soap, right?”
“Yeah, Matt but…that’s here in the estates.” Silence ticked on between us for a few beats.
“We’re home wherever we go, Krissy.”
“I agree but…” she avoided my gaze and let her shoulders slump. “Baby, this isn’t ours. We have to give it up. I kind of wish you hadn’t invited my parents here. They should have seen your house.”
“They did see my house,” I told her. “Krissy, I’m buying this house.” Her eyes got wide and she slapped her hand over her mouth like the squeal she let out threatened to shatter the moment.
“Matt, what? What did you just say?” She stammered.
“You heard me. I’m buying this house. We’ve put too much energy into it. This house belongs to us in more ways than one. We celebrated Christmas night here. We celebrated your birthday here. I punched Colton in the face here.” We both shared a laugh at that last part.
“It was risky and stupid but I knew I was a shoe-in for that job. I knew it. I put every cent of my savings into the down payment on this mansion in the Moreau Estates. This mansion that holds so many memories, I’m starting to lose count.
I’ll make the money back and then some in less than a month. The most important thing was making sure we had something that we could call ours.”
Warm tears spilled down Krissy’s cheeks and she shook her head, looking around the bedroom with new eyes. “This is ours?” She whispered.
“It will be soon. We just need to sign the papers. Tell me you’ll live here with me. You’ll make this place our official home.”
“Of course, Matt! I don’t even know how you did this. You’re amazing. Wait…did you say we? You want me to own this with you?” She asked with wide, brown eyes. I nodded slowly, letting the realization sink into her mind. Without a single word, she crashed against my mouth with hers and our tongues slid against each other.
“I’m sorry you thought that for even a second that I would let go of what we built together. Krissy, all I see is you. I don’t care who thinks it’s fucked up. You’re my world. I’ll do anything to keep a smile on your face. That includes having an awkward ass meatball dinner with your parents.”
“Oh my god, Matt. That shit was crazy. You literally couldn’t have made mashed potatoes or something?”
“I made what I make best. You ate that shit, didn’t you?” I laughed. Krissy slid her fingers along my lips then my cheeks.
“I did. They were delicious,” she purred.
“Exactly.” I slapped her ass and tugged her against my body with my fingers in her belt loops. “We should consummate our new house,” I smiled against her neck. I dotted her collarbones with kisses while she squirmed in my grasp.
“We’ve fucked
in this house so much already.”
“But it wasn’t ours then. It’s ours now.” I opened her jeans and pushed them over her full hips and down her thick thighs. The sight of her in red panties against that honey skin made my dick stand tall in seconds.
“I missed the fuck out of you, baby girl,” I groaned.
“I missed you too, Papi.” She slid her hands into my hair and moaned when she felt my thumb roll along her stiff clit
“How could you ever think I’d give you up? Every inch of you is mine.” I lifted her shirt and cupped her breasts. “Mine,” I nipped her nipples then soothed the bite with my tongue. “Definitely mine.” I cupped her warm pussy. “And all of this? This is mine too,” I slid both hands around to her ass and she laughed. “More important than all that is this…” I thumped her heart with to fingers before pushing her back on the bed. “I wrote my name all over this shit,” I grinned and I saw the part of Krissy that always melts when I smile.
“You did,” she agreed.
“Good girl.” I bucked against her heat and she cried out, meeting my motions. Our words disappeared quickly and soon we were a mess of exploring hands and fingers, hungry mouths, and moans and groans.
I sank deep into Krissy’s pussy with one thrust and she clamped her legs around my waist, locking me in place. “Oh God, Papi, you feel so good,” she moaned, digging her heels into the top of my ass. I took my time to stroke her slowly while I stared at the faces she made. She was full of me. I was covered in her.
I never wanted that moment to end.
I hammered into her relentlessly, picking up my pace until I came deep inside her pussy and she screamed my name when an orgasm overtook her body.
Mine.
I was on her lips and in her heart and in her mind.
That’s the way I wanted to keep it. Krissy Lucas was the best thing that ever happened to me and I would do anything to keep her in my life. She’d invaded my space in the best way possible and together we made a home out of a vacant vessel.
We poured life into it until it donned our signature and it wouldn’t have felt right seeing it belong to anyone else. I didn’t care how much it cost to sign our name on the dotted line of our home in the Moreau Estates. It was invaluable to us.
Now, we could build and grow. We would experience life together.
“I think I’m going to get a birth control implant thingy,” Krissy sighed, staring at the ceiling.
“An IUD?” I quizzed.
“Something less invasive. But yes. I know once I live with you I’m going to forget to get my shots every three months,” she remarked, her cute face twisting into a slight frown.
“Why? Do I make you forget your responsibilities?” I flashed her a grin and pressed my lips to her neck.
“Yes, Matt,” she laughed. “Plus, this way I can fuck you all I want and we won’t have to worry about any surprises.” Her fingers danced up my abs and I became momentarily hypnotized by them.
“We do want surprises in the future though, right?” I asked, my brows knitting together.
“Yes. I told you. Lots of them. I never had siblings so I want to give my kids an annoying amount,” she laughed and her face was brilliant. I leaned over and kissed her dewy forehead.
“Good. The minute you graduate college, whatever implant you’re getting is going to come out and I’m giving you all the surprises you can handle.”
“I can’t fucking wait,” she beamed. The adorable smile got her fucked again and again that night.
All night.
In our damn house.

Four years later…
KRISSY
My smile couldn’t have been brighter as I left the doctor’s office and went home. Matt had been away on a business trip but he was due home later in the evening. He wanted to get back in time for my graduation the next day.
I drove through the gates of the Moreau Estates and paused at the security booth. Colton hated it with a passion when I bothered him. I couldn’t help it though.
After I tried numerous times to get him fired and it didn’t work, I resigned myself to the fact that I was stuck seeing his face every fucking day. I was going to have fun with it.
“What, Kris?” He grumbled. His seafoam green eyes were still beautiful as ever and he was still full of shit.
“I need a new Estates sticker,” I frowned. “Mine keeps peeling off. The sun has been brutal this summer.” Colton eyed me then muttered something under his breath before returning with a shiny new sticker for my windshield. I took it in my hand and set it on the dashboard.
“Twenty bucks, punk.” No matter how much time passed, he still looked at me like he wanted to fuck me where I stood. He wouldn’t dare let Matt see him looking at me like that though. He was terrified of Matt.
I fished around and pulled out my card then held it out for Colton. He reached for it and I pulled my car forward a little, just out of his grasp. “Oh…you gotta be quicker than that, Uncle Colt,” I laughed. Whenever I was feeling particularly devious I liked to call him uncle. I knew it stung because my father acted as if Colton never existed.
“Stop fucking around, Krissy. Give me your card so I can swipe it,” his dark brows furled together and I let out another laugh.
“Okay, here,” I sighed, holding out the card. When he reached for it I pulled up a little more. I got him three times with that shit.
“Goddammit! Stop being so immature,” he rumbled.
“I’m not. You’re going to pay for it. It’s your graduation gift to me. Have a great day, Uncle Colton.” I blew him a kiss and drove off while I watched Colton flip me off in the rearview mirror.
When I got in the house I took a folded napkin from my purse and set it on the counter. I grabbed a pen and wrote on the napkin in black ink then I made dinner for me and Matt. After growing up with meals always being prepared, I loved cooking, especially in my own house. I always made our meals for a week at a time but tonight was special.
I was graduating tomorrow.
My stomach flopped when I heard Matt’s key in the lock. My skin grew warm and my ears strained to hear his footsteps. I swear, the closer he got, the more I could smell his cologne.
I went to meet him in the hall and I suppressed the happy squeal caught in my throat. It wasn’t time yet though. “What’s up, baby girl? I missed you,” he picked me up off the floor and spun me in a full circle before kissing my lips and tasting my tongue. He smelled so good. Like sunshine and soap. I wanted to lick him…so I did. I darted my tongue out and tasted his neck. A soft moan escaped me and Matt lifted his thick eyebrow.
“I haven’t been home for five minutes and my dick is hard. God, I missed the fuck out of you.” We shared another kiss then his nose tilted in the air. “Are you cooking?” He quizzed.
“Yup. Come in the kitchen,” I told him. He followed me with his hands on my hips.
“Meatballs,” he chuckled before kissing my temple. “Are your parents coming over?” He asked playfully.
“No. Also, I made sides.” I never let him live that fucking meatball dinner down. Ever.
“Fuck you,” he laughed. His eyes honed in on the napkin on the counter and he picked it up while I watched intently. “What’s this?” He studied it then read the words I wrote.
I graduate tomorrow. Time to start working on our little surprises.
My face nearly split in half from smiling while I watched him unfold the napkin. Inside was the birth control implant the doctor removed from my arm. It was all shiny and clean because gross…of course I had her wash it.
“Is this your…” Matt inspected it then looked at me.
“Yup. I’m officially off birth control, Papi.”
“Time to make babies?”
“Time to make babies. It’ll take a little while for my body to adjust so we’ll need lots of practice first.” A wicked smile crossed Matt’s handsome face and he took a step toward me.
“Cut the oven off, baby gir
l. It’s time to start practicing,” he growled. My laughter spilled into the air as he swept me off my feet. It bounced off every surface and rang throughout our home. Soon, the laughter and happiness would multiply beyond our wildest dreams and I was ready for every bit of it.
The end.
