“That waterfall is amazing,” I said.
“Come on, it’s small enough we can get in it,” he said.
“Get in it?” I asked.
“You aren’t afraid to get wet are you?” he asked, teasingly.
“No, of course not,” I said. The waterfall was about twenty feet tall, falling from a small cliff and right onto the beach, the bubbling water creating a tiny stream that led into the ocean. I put the bag down, took off my boots and rolled up my jeans. Wreck did the same and we walked into the shallow pool.
“It’s so cold - and amazing!” I cried.
Wreck leaned down, kissing me gently as he pulled me into his arms.
“You’re amazing,” he whispered, kissing me again.
We had the whole beach to ourselves and I was so happy to be alone with him. I kissed him back, the cold water splashing around our ankles doing nothing to cool the fiery passion that flowed between us. I could have stayed there kissing him forever.
“Come on, let’s go over to the caves,” he said, pulling me along.
“What about our boots?” I asked.
“Just leave them there, they’ll be fine.” His hand was so warm, so familiar, so comforting. If it wasn’t for this dumb red wig on my head, I could almost pretend we were just a normal couple out enjoying our lives.
We trailed around the bend of one of the cliffs and Wreck led me into a small, dim cave.
“Look!” he said, pointing to some tiny symbols carved into the sandstone.
“Whoa, those look ancient,” I said, leaning down and looking at the little pictures. “I think that looks like a horse, don’t you?”
“Yeah, maybe a donkey? I don’t know,” he said, coming up behind me, and placing his hands on my hips. I leaned back into him, moaning as I felt his hardness pressing into me. I couldn’t help but smile at the obvious evidence of his attraction to me. It felt so good to be wanted again.
His arms snaked around me, pulling me closer into his chest. I leaned my head back and he dipped his head and kissed my neck, sending shivers down my spine. I turned my face up to his, and he captured my lips, kissing me passionately, his lips hot as flames. I turned around to face him, our arms wrapping around each other as we kissed deeply, the fire between us igniting into a violent inferno.
His hands trailed over my back, my hips, his hands cupping my ass and pulling me into his throbbing heat. He tore his mouth away from mine, his eyes searching mine wildly.
“Wreck,” I whispered, my lips swollen from his assault. “I want you so badly.”
“Babe,” he shook his head. “Are you sure? I can wait,” he muttered, his voice thick with desire.
“I don’t want to wait,” I whispered, pressing my body into his. “I’ve never wanted anything so badly in my life.”
“Vanessa,” he said, his voice a low warning as he shook his head. I put my finger over his lips. “Don’t call me that,” I said.
“What?” he asked, confusion flashing in his eyes.
“Just don’t talk,” I pleaded. “Please? Please make love to me? Now?”
“Oh, babe,” he growled, his lips smashing against mine, his tongue delving past my lips, searching for the deepest parts of me. I kissed him back, our tongues dancing together passionately. He reached down, grabbing the edge of my t-shirt and quickly pulling it over my head, his eyes drinking in my heaving breasts, as he reached down and pulled them out. His mouth engulfed my nipples, first one, then the other, my fingers sinking into his hair and pulling him close to me as I cried out, my voice echoing off the walls of the cave.
“Yes, oh please,” I cried. He fell to his knees in the sand before me, his fingers working at the buttons of my jeans. Sliding them over my hips, I kicked out of them quickly, leaving me standing in front of him in the black bikini that I’d borrowed from Lacey and slipped on under my clothes.
His gaze raked across my body slowly, slowly drinking in every inch of my skin until his eyes met mine.
“You are so fucking beautiful,” he whispered. I shuddered with pleasure. I had no clue how much I’d missed this, how much I missed the mind-numbing blissfulness of human connection, just to be touched. His hungry eyes were mesmerizing. I wanted him to look at me like that forever. I’d never felt more like a woman in my life with him kneeling there in front of me.
Slowly, I reached behind my back, pulling the thin strings that held the bikini top in place. It fell to the ground, my breasts exposed completely, my nipples hard with anticipation. He brought his mouth around my nipple again, his hot mouth sucking and licking, sending shocks of delicious pleasure through my body. I leaned against the wall of the cave, hoping my knees didn’t buckle on me. He stood up, his arm sliding around my waist and holding me up as he kissed me deeply again. I pulled at the bottom of his shirt, wanting it gone, wanting nothing between us but skin. He leaned back, pulling it off and I gasped when I saw the scars zigzagging over his torso.
He leaned down to kiss me again, but I stopped him.
“Wait,” I whispered, hypnotized by his scarred skin. “Show me your scars…”
He growled, his eyes wild with savage desire, desire for me, for my body. Nothing had ever felt so amazing, my body was singing with the same yearning I saw in his eyes, but I needed to know him again, to touch him, to find out every detail about this man that I had never stopped loving in all of these years.
I wanted to see who he was now. I wanted to see what had changed. Inside and out.
My fingers traced the scars, his taught ab muscles twitching under my touch. Some had faded to a thin, white translucent line but others were fresh, red, angry, like the one on his face.
I drug my eyes up to his face, my gaze landing on the scar there. The one everyone could see. Peering deeply into those stormy grey eyes, I could see the ones most people couldn’t. He groaned again, his eyes a mixture of a dire warning and the sweetest promise of bliss.
“Baby, I can’t wait,” he said, grabbing my hand and kissing my palm, before pushing it down to his throbbing masculinity. I grasped him through his jeans, his cock so hard, pulsing so strongly, it was as if it had a life of its own. I reached down with my other hand, quickly pulling his jeans apart and plunging my hand into his boxers, my fingers wrapping around his velvety heat, holding him in my palm like a prize.
His pants and boxers fell to the ground and he stepped out of them, standing up in front of me, his hard, muscular body practically wrapping completely around me - his arms, his thighs, his body pressing me up against the cave a little too hard, but I didn’t care. All I was aware of was his touch, his heat, his mouth, his huge, hard, pulsing cock.
He dropped to his knees again, his mouth finding my center, his tongue darting forward in a wanton deliciousness that shot right to my brain.
“Oh. My. GOD!” I cried. My pulse raced wildly as every new sensation that I’d only been able to imagine before became a reality in my body. Sweet rippling bubbles of bliss rushed over my skin, my thighs opening wider as his mouth worked against me, creating such intense waves of pleasure, I was sure I’d pass out.
I wanted to tell him that I’d never felt that before, that it was more amazing than I’d ever imagined, but words failed me completely. All I could do was gasp and moan, crying out in ecstasy until his relentless assault had me writhing against his mouth, wordlessly begging him not to stop.
And he didn’t.
He kept going, plunging deeper into me, his lips, his fingers, his tongue licking at me like burning flames until I crashed over the edge, my cries flowing out of the cave and mixing with the violently crashing waves of the ocean as wave after wave of sweet release washed over me.
He stood up before I could catch my breath, his sex hard as a rock and pulsing against my flowing center. With a slight shift of his hips, he raised himself into me, his cock sliding into me smoothly at first, until he hit the barrier I knew he would find.
His eyes flashed with surprise, his question written on his face.
>
“Just do it,” I said. “Please, please…”
With a slight twitch of his head, he thrust his hips forward, his manhood piercing me. It was hot, searingly hot, the pain sharp and quick and oh-so-good.
“Yes!” I cried. “Oh, baby…” I moaned loudly, pushing my hips towards him, wanting all of him inside of me. He rocked against me, his arms wrapped around me, holding me up against the wall as he plunged his hardness into me with smooth strokes, his breath hot against my ear.
A slow smile spread across my face, his delicious cock taking me. I couldn’t help but realize that in that very moment, all my dreams were finally coming true. I’d regretted the fact that I’d never slept with Jesse, spending ten long years all alone and yearning for him, wishing I’d done everything differently.
And yet, somehow, he was right here, the first person inside of me, just as it was always meant to be. As far as I was concerned, he was all I needed. He was all I’d ever need.
I wrapped my thighs around his hips, holding on tightly as he hammered into me, his breath ragged and shallow, his short hard strokes shooting electric shocks through my body.
Soon, we were lost, our bodies moving together like one, until we cried out together, our voices and our souls emerging together until there was no difference between the two. The sound of the waves crashing around us became the music to our song and his mouth landed on mine again as he exploded inside of me, his kiss possessive and demanding as he claimed my body with his.
CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
Wreck
“I can’t believe we have this whole place to ourselves,” I said, throwing my arm around Vanessa and pulling her close to my side.
“It’s magical,” she whispered. “I’ll never forget it.”
I smiled down at her, leaning my head down and kissing her gently.
“Me, either, babe,” I replied. “Never in a million years could I forget this.”
We walked barefoot along the edge of the shore, our jeans rolled up as the waves slithered over our feet.
“I want to go in,” Vanessa said, smiling up at me, her eyes shining with the blissful awe of a child.
“It’s absolutely freezing,” I replied, laughing. “Go for it, but I doubt you’ll last long.”
“Come with me!” she demanded, grabbing my hand and pulling me deeper into the rippling waves. I bit my tongue as the ice-cold Northwestern Pacific ocean lapped it’s icicle tongue at my feet. I’d just done one of the most masculine things I’d ever done - made love to a woman in a fucking cave! - and I wasn’t about to scream like a little school girl about the cold water, but goddamn was it fucking freezing.
It didn’t seem to be bothering Vanessa much at all, though. She yelped at first, but she kept walking - slowly and tentatively until she was up to her knees in the salty waves. The strength of the current made our bodies sway and we held hands to keep upright.
“You okay?” I asked, looking down at her and laughing at her. She was so happy, so fucking beautiful and she looked even more ravishing with those swollen lips and sparkling eyes from our adventure in the cave. The only thing I would have changed was that stupid fucking red wig she was wearing. In fact, I couldn’t wait to get her somewhere completely private and alone so I could rip it off of her and sink my hands into her long, blonde hair and take her again.
“Yeah,” she nodded, her face growing serious. “I’m okay.”
“Good,” I said. We walked a little farther into the water and she turned to me with such determination, it stopped me in my tracks.
“Wreck, I gotta tell you something.”
Her eyes darkened as she looked up at me.
“Okay,” I shrugged.
“It’s…um…,” she paused, biting her lip, “it’s serious.”
“Vanessa, you don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to,” I said. She looked extremely uncomfortable and nervous and all I wanted to do was remove that look from her face and make her smile again. I pulled her into my arms, holding her close to my chest.
“I have to tell you,” she said, her voice low and muffled. The waves rolled around our knees and she pulled back, looking up into my eyes again. “It’s important.”
“Okay, babe,” I said. “You can tell me anything. It’s up to you.”
“Well,” she said, her voice so low I almost couldn’t hear her over the roar of the ocean. She looked past me and I followed her gaze. Another couple had walked down the path leading to the beach and were walking past us. She waited for them to get farther away before beginning again. “You going to be a little shocked, so I just want you to brace yourself.”
“Babe, there’s not much you can say that will offend me or shock me. Seriously,” I said, smiling down at her. “I know that fucker put you through hell, Vanessa. You don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to.” Anger began rushing through my veins, just as it did every time I thought of Randolph and everything he’d done to her, everything he’d taken away from her.
“It’s true, he did,” she said, nodding. “But this isn’t about him. Well, not really…” her voice trailed off.
“It’s okay, babe,” I said, kissing her forehead and caressing her arms. I took a deep breath, determined to be patient and understanding, despite the fact that I was pretty fucking sure my ankles were frostbitten at this point. “What is it?”
“Well, it’s not what Royce did to me that I want to tell you about. It’s what he didn’t do…”
“What do you mean?” I asked, my toes sinking deep into the sand below to keep myself from falling over.
“He didn’t kill me.” Her whisper was so light, I cocked my head and asked her to repeat herself.
“He didn’t kill me,” she said again, her eyes searching mine.
“Right,” I said. “Of course he didn’t, you’re right here, babe.”
“That’s not what I meant,” she said, sighing. “This is coming out all wrong.”
“Vanessa, I don’t understand.”
She looked deeply into my eyes, staring silently, demandingly.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Don’t you see me? Don’t you know?” she asked.
“Babe, look I see you, of course I do. But I’m no mind reader. In fact, I can be really fucking thick sometimes. You’re gonna need to spell it out.” By now, I could have had my feet chomped off by a fucking shark and I wouldn’t have felt it. I was growing colder by the second and I just wanted her to spit it out.
“It’s me,” she whispered, her eyes shining with tears. “It’s me, Jesse.”
I blinked in confusion, my mind spinning.
“How did you know my name?” I asked. “I don’t remember telling you.” I rarely told anyone my name anymore. But maybe I’d told her. I did a lot of things I didn’t remember these days.
“It’s me, Jesse,” she insisted again. “Frankie.”
My heart stopped, my mind skipping like a scratched record.
“What did you say?” I asked, absolutely certain I hadn’t told her anything about Frankie.
“It’s me - Frankie,” her lips curled up in a half smile and my stomach turned.
“Who told you about Frankie?”
God, it hurt just to say her name - not even the the numbing water could take away that pain.
“Did Riot tell you about her?” I insisted, making a mental note to kick his ass.
What a mother fucker, I thought. He needed to mind his own business, but no…he was always meddling, always ‘looking into things’…he’d grilled me about Frankie a week after I’d arrived, trying to fucking psychoanalyze me and shit. And now he’d run his mouth off about Frankie to Vanessa? That was the last straw. Frankie was fucking sacred.
Vanessa’s eyes were wild, tears streaming down her face. For fuck’s sake. Is this some jealous girl thing? I was so fucking confused.
“Look, I don’t know what Riot told you,” I told her. “But Frankie was a long time ago. She’s gone.”
> “No!” she cried, her voice rising even though it was quivering. “Goddammit, Jesse! Don’t you see? Don’t you see me? I’m Frankie!”
“You’re what?!” I shook my head in bewilderment. “Who?” This was a mistake. This was all a big fucking mistake. Coming here. Getting mixed up with her. Fucking her in the goddamned cave. She’d just been through hell and I was fucking with her? What the fuck was wrong with me?!
“Look, Vanessa, I don’t know what you’re trying to do,” I said, surprised by my own shaking voice. Something was wrong, so fucking wrong, and all I wanted to do was run away.
“Stop it, Jesse! It’s me!” Vanessa screamed over the waves, the wind picking up around us and blowing the red locks of her wig around her face. “I’m Frankie! I didn’t fucking die! It’s me!”
“What are you saying?” I said, waves of fear gripping my heart. I’d let go of her hands long ago, standing there with my jaw open, my eyes wide, my feet so fucking cold it had spread all the way to my gut, penetrating deep into my bones until every cell in my body was dead. I stared at her silently, the world spinning around me as every part of me succumbed to the sweet deadly embrace of the waves. They lapped around my body like a taunting monster, it’s tentacles heckling me, tempting me, laughing at me, until it had gripped my heart like a vice, squeezing until it was dead too.
“I don’t know who you are,” I said, my voice a million miles away from the tsunami in my head. “But,” I stopped, my hand reaching out and snaking around her bicep, squeezing firmly as I looked into her eyes. My gaze raked over her face, and I shook my head. “Don’t ever fucking say her name again. Do you understand me?”
“But, Jesse —,”
“Wreck!” I growled, squeezing her arm again, staring into her eyes. “Jesse’s dead. And so is Frankie.”
I let go of her and turned away. I had to get away before I squeezed harder. Before I screamed at her, before I totally and completely fucking broke down.
Who did she fucking think she was? Was she playing some kind of game?
