Unspoken Promises (The Unspoken Love Series Book 2) Page 7

by H. P. Davenport

I grab her hands and pin them above her head and grind my cock against her already wet center. So fucking wet, warm and perfect. I need to be inside her, now.

  “I do,” she pants.

“Tell me. I need to hear it.” I growl against her neck and bite her hard.

A gasp leaves her mouth. She’s breathing hard, “Want… you. Now. Make love to me,” she pants.

I love it when my girl tells me what she wants. Morgan is never shy in bed. We’re always able to tell each other what we like. Harder, faster, more, that spot. It’s just one of the many things I love about her.

She moans softly from erotic pleasure as I enter her inch by inch, as she welcomes me into her body. She’s tight.

“Oh, God,” she breathes as her fists clench mine.

She’s what I crave. What I want, what I need.

Once I feel her body adjusting to me, I push all the way in. She clenches me tightly. “Lincoln…” she pants as I move slowly inside of her. I pull all the way out, then enter her body again with more force than I did the first time.

“Gonna come,” she says and bites my earlobe. “Gonna come.”

“Do it. Let go,” I urge her and press my thumb against her clit just as she begins to spasm around me. She succumbs to her orgasm.

I’m so hard, I don’t know how much longer I’m going to last. She feels so good, so tight.

Together we find the tempo that bound our bodies together.

“I’m never letting you go. You’re mine. You’re mine for life, Morgan.” I need her body, her heart, her mind. I need my girl back. This isn’t just fucking, or lovemaking, this is me trying to right the wrongs between us.

I begin to fuck her hard. Thrusting my hips into her. I feel her core clenching my dick, I don’t know how much longer I can last, but I sure as hell want her to come again.

  “I’m gonna come again.”

“That’s right, baby. Come again for me.” Her walls clamp down and her back arches off the bed.

I fuck her hard until I find my own release, her milking every last drop from me, and I fall to the bed next to her, out of breath. I lie panting, my chest heaving like I just ran a damn marathon.

She snuggles against me, legs entwined. Our bodies naked and still sweaty from lovemaking. “This was what we needed, Lincoln, this reconnect, time for the two of us. I love you so much,” she whispers.

  “I love you too, sweetheart.”

  MORGAN

“All relationships go through hell; real relationships get through it.”

  – Unknown

  Mid-February

My hand grips Lincoln’s tightly as the plane touches down with an easy landing. “I told you everything would be okay,” Lincoln says as he kisses my hand.

The past month has gone by in a blur. Things are great between Lincoln and me. We’re taking advantage of a long weekend away in Riviera Maya. It’s only four days, but I’ll take it. After an hour or so, we have our luggage and are on the shuttle to the Moon Palace Golf Spa & Resort. The amenities looked amazing when we booked the trip. The website says it has a seemingly boundless stretch of beautiful beach overlooking the Caribbean Sea which has served as the backdrop for countless elegant and fun-filled weddings since the resort opened.

I plan to sneak away from Lincoln and get some information on a destination wedding. I see what Camryn is going through planning hers and it’s made me realize that I don’t want a big wedding. I prefer something small and more intimate.

The ride to the resort wasn’t long at all. The minute I step out of the shuttle bus, the sun warms my face. I lean my head back, soaking up the hot rays. “I want to check in and go right to the beach. I am dying to get my toes in the sand and a drink in my hand.”

“Whatever you want, baby,” Lincoln says as he takes my hand in his.

The front of the resort is breathtaking. It’s all open showing with a few steps leading to the main entrance to the resort. There are wicker chairs with beautiful floral prints spaced throughout the area. To the left is the counter where we need to check in.

We approach the counter and Lincoln pulls me against his side, his arm around my waist. A beautiful woman with long black hair and skin like caramel speaks as we approach the desk. “Welcome to Moon Palace Golf Spa & Resort, my name is Maria. How can I help you, sir?”

I love her accent. Her English is great, but I can tell it’s not her native language. I wish I would have taken a second language in high school. It would be great to be able to communicate with the people here at the resort in their language.

“Good morning, Maria. We just got here, we’d like to check in.”

  “Your name please,” Maria asks.

  “Lincoln Gates.”

“Your room is ready, Mr. and Mrs. Gates. Here are your room keys, the bellhop will take your luggage to your room. You can follow him. Please enjoy your stay with us and if we can be of any service, please do not hesitate to let us be of assistance.

The moment Maria said Mr. and Mrs. Gates, Lincoln’s body stiffens.

“We’re not married, it’s Mr. Gates and Ms. Kennedy.” His response holds unwelcome frankness.

My pulse races when Lincoln corrects the woman.

“Yet. We’re not married yet,” I interject.

Lincoln stands motionless. I reach out and take the cards from Maria’s hand.

“Thank you, Maria. We’ll be sure to let you know if we need anything.”

I elbow Lincoln in the side. “Come on, Mr. Gates. Ms. Kennedy wants to put her bathing suit on and go to the beach.” I turn away without waiting for a reply.

This is just dandy. We’re not even here ten minutes and he managed to piss me off already. The bellhop approaches us immediately with our luggage on the cart. “Please follow me, I’ll show you to your room.”

He loads our bags into a golf cart and we head down a few winding paths that lead to our room. Our room is beachfront with a magnificent view of the ocean.

“Thank you,” I say to the bellhop handing him a tip for unloading our bags in our room.

The room is very spacious, boasting a king-size bed with a colorful comforter in the middle. There is a cute swan made out of towels placed in the center of the pillows. A television mounted on the wall above the dresser which has a mini bar stocked with liquor and snacks. A whirlpool tub sits in the corner over by the sliding glass doors.

I slip my shoes off discarding them in the closet. My bare feet touch the cold tile as I walk over to the doors. A small patio outside of our room affords us a magnificent view of the ocean. There is a private beach lounge area outside. I can’t wait to relax there once I get changed into my bathing suit.

Lincoln stands watching my every move. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it the way it sounded.”

“You meant exactly what you said. No need to apologize for it. I know where you stand.” I was uncomfortable with the fact that he’d spoken the truth. I would never be Mrs. Gates. No matter how much I want to. It’s not going to happen.

I finger air quotes, “I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I don’t need a piece of paper to prove my love to you, Morgan.”

I kept thinking give him time. That’s all he needs. But time and time again, he does things or makes comments that make me realize, we want different things in life. No matter how much time or space I give him, he doesn’t want to marry me.

Lincoln’s lips pucker with annoyance. “Morgan.”

The way he says my name with such calmness makes me involuntarily flinch. I’d rather him yell at me, argue with me, something. He’s always so calm. I’m the hot headed one in this relationship. I go from zero to ten in two seconds flat. I don’t have a filter. I say what I want and mean what I say. I don’t usually apologize for things that I say because it’s always said in truth.

  “Look at me.”

My eyes disobediently shift downward to the floor. I can’t meet his stern gaze. I know he’s still watching me when I grab my
suitcase and toss it on the bed. I’m becoming increasingly uneasy under his scrutiny. Lincoln continues to stare at me. When I do look at him, he raises a single blond eyebrow.

I hold my hand up. When I try to speak, my voice waivers. “Don’t… I want to have a great time. I don’t want to fight. Let’s get changed and go to the beach.”

The sound of the zipper on my suitcase echoes in the silent room. I grab my red bikini and head to the bathroom, shutting the door behind me.

When I try to speak, my voice quivers, “Lincoln, I don’t think I can do this.”

“You’ll be fine, babe. Come on, jump in,” his warm smile echoes in his voice.

I shake my head vigorously. “Seriously. I don’t think I can do this.” My stomach clenches tight. A wave of apprehension sweeps through me.

“I promise, you’ll be safe. Just jump in,” he says with a smile on his face.

I stick the tip of my toes in the water.

“Come on, you can do it,” Lincoln encourages me.

I submerge my entire foot in and swoosh it around in the water. I don’t see anything by my foot.

“Morgan, you’ll be fine. Close your eyes and jump. I’ll catch you.” I can hear the humor in his voice. He probably thinks I am being a total chicken here, which I probably am.

“Are you sure about this? I can stay here on the boat and wait for you. I really don’t mind.” A sensation of sickness takes up residency in my stomach. The rocking of the boat isn’t making matters any better.

“Don’t be ridiculous. Once you get in the water, you’ll be fine. We have life vests on. I’ll stay with you the entire time.”

“I can’t swim well. I can get from one side of the pool to the other. But look around us. There is water everywhere. I can’t make it to shore if the boat breaks down.”

He throws his head back and laughs loudly. “We won’t be swimming to shore. I promise you that. You have a life jacket on, you will be fine. You won’t drown.”

My eyes dart around to all the people in the water. I’m the only one still on the boat. Swallowing my fears, I climb down the ladder on the side of the boat. When my body is fully submerged in the water, Lincoln’s arms wrap around my waist.

He turns me to face him and kisses me. He pulls away, his hands cup my cheeks. “Thank you.”

I nod. “Please don’t leave me.”

He leans in and kisses my lips again. “Never.”

We spend the afternoon exploring the open waters. When Lincoln was looking into snorkeling here in Mexico, the activities director at our resort recommended that we spend the day in Cozumel. He told us it was one of the best places to go thanks to the famous Great Mayan Reef and the warm, crystal clear waters. He was right. It is absolutely breathtaking here.

The coral reefs are vibrant and colorful. While snorkeling, a few turtles were swimming in the distance. Countless colorful fish were around us. Before we jumped in, the tour guide explained which fish was what, but I couldn’t keep up. All I needed to know is that this was an adventure I won’t ever forget.

As much as I don’t want to admit it, snorkeling was definitely one of the top moments of our mini tropical vacation. Once I jumped in the water and didn’t let fear ruin this experience, I loved it. I loved being able to swim with the fish, to see the various species and most of all, I loved experiencing it with Lincoln.

I love how he stayed by my side the entire time, never venturing off with the group and leaving me behind. He made sure I felt safe, comfortable and most of all, he never downplayed my fear of the water.

Why can’t he be that supportive of my need to be married to him? Just why?

Lincoln kicks the door shut once we enter the room. He pushes me against the door, my hands being held over my head, as a low growl escapes his chest.

First he kisses the tip of my nose, then my eyes, and finally he satisfyingly kisses my mouth. With his free hand, he pulls the tie to my bikini top exposing my breasts.

I press myself into his cock to satisfy my own arousal that is building in me.

“Is this what you want?” he murmurs against my neck as he grinds his hardened erection against my core causing goosebumps to spread across my skin.

I nod, unable to speak past the lump in my throat. He presses his muscled body against mine and captures my mouth with a savage intensity.

  “Touch me,” Lincoln instructs me.

He lets go of my hands and I lean in to kiss his chest gently, sucking on his nipple. Pushing his board shorts past his hips, I caress his already hardened shaft. After a few strokes, he’s hard as steel. Slowly, my tongue makes a path down his ribs to his stomach, his muscles contracting from my touch. I go to my knees, taking Lincoln’s cock in my mouth. “Suck me, baby. Take me deep,” he murmurs.

My tongue moves around his sensitive head, while I massage his balls. I take his entire length in my mouth. His cock hits the back of my throat and I’m barely able to hold back my own orgasm. He moans and fists my hair as I move my mouth to the rhythm of his hips.

“Fucking hell, oh, yeah, just like that.”

Truth is, I love going down on Lincoln. Hell, I love everything about our sex life. I’ve only been with him, and I couldn’t imagine myself with anyone else.

“I’m close, babe. I’m gonna come in your mouth. That what you want?” he growls.

I nod, as I pull his cock from my mouth, running my tongue along the underside. After sucking his swollen head, I gently scrape my teeth along his swollen shaft, knowing exactly what he loves just like he knows all of my buttons to push too when we have sex.

I slowly stand to look at him after I finish him off. Lincoln’s hooded eyes rake over me. I hold his gaze for the longest time.

  “God, you’re beautiful.”

When I swirl my tongue around his nipples one more time, he growls. “Morgan.”

Knowing that I’m driving him crazy, fuels my desire to flare. His hands tightly grip my hair as he plunders my mouth with his own.

Lincoln opens his eyes meeting mine. The flames of passion burn within both of us.

“Get that sweet little ass of yours on the bed. I plan on making you scream my name until your throat hurts.”

And that’s how we spent the rest of the day. I surrendered myself completely to his masterful seduction as my body soared to an awesome, shuddering ecstasy over and over again.

Waking each morning to an ocean sunrise surf wafting through your balcony door does wonders for a person’s soul.

Lincoln went to the gym, so here I am walking the beach... alone. I need this time to myself. Maybe the sounds of the waves crashing ashore will calm my brain from the thoughts that invade it. The sand beneath my feet makes me wish I lived in Florida or California. I could get used to waking up every day in paradise.

In the distance, I see a group of people gathering on the beach. Chiavari chairs are adorned with brilliant turquoise and crisp white fabrics; green bamboo vases filled with peacock feathers, silver curly willows, and two kinds of flowers, Hydrangeas and Cymbidium Orchids sit at the top and end of the aisles. Turquoise combines the light blue of the sky with the invigorating green of the sea, a key theme in this exotic wedding inspiration. I stand back a little, not wanting to intrude but remain a voyeur instead.

The guests take their seats. The groom and his groomsmen stand at the front of the white pergola ceremony structure. The men, including the groom, are dressed in tan linen pants and a white shirt with buttons down the front. Perfect for a beachfront wedding.

A violinist plays a beautiful rendition of “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri and the bride begins to make her way to her groom. She looks exquisite in her cream dress. She doesn’t have a train or a veil. I guess why bother, when it will only drag in the sand.

As much as I want to turn and walk away, my legs don’t budge. I’m rooted in the sand, intruding on their private moment. I listen as they exchange their vows. I listen as they promise to love each other always and forever.

I laugh to myself. “Always and forever.” Lincoln and I always say that to each other.

The couple gazes into each other’s eyes and both promise to share their lives together, to cherish and love one another until they take their last breath.

Once the groom kisses his bride, I turn and walk away. My eyes are drawn to a figure I see in the distance standing by the water. His hands in his pockets. I recognize him immediately. Lincoln’s eyes meet mine. He nods his head and turns and walks away.

I can’t even escape marriage bliss here in Mexico. Everywhere I turn, it seems that everyone is getting their happily ever after… and all I’m getting from Lincoln are promises of his version of forever that I fear will be the end of us.

Nothing was said about the wedding we both witnessed on the beach yesterday. What was there to discuss? I want to get married, Lincoln doesn’t. Why fight over something that neither one of us are willing to budge on?

Tomorrow is our last day here in paradise. We’ve spent the days on the beach, by the pool, we went wave running twice. I even snorkeled, despite my fear of the ocean. I prefer my feet on the ground, toes in the sand. I don’t see the point in swimming where sharks are. The ocean is their home, not mine. So why are people so surprised when they see sharks in the water? Hello, people, they live there. We live on land and we certainly aren’t inviting sharks through our front door. But the snorkeling was spectacular and the highlight of this trip.

“Babe, do you want another drink?” Lincoln asks.

“Sure, I’ll take another margarita. Sugar, not salt, please,” I say, pushing my sunglasses back up my nose.

The sun is blazing today. The ground is so hot that I need to wear my shoes to the edge of the pool so the bottom of my feet don’t blister and burn.

“Can you rub this on my back?” I hand Lincoln the tube of sunscreen.

“Why don’t you just use the spray you brought?”
