  Formulary Fun

Coming up with this formula has been my life’s work so bear with me. Here is the content and some of the concentration formulary for my Trail Master blend. I, of course, am not giving you my full measurements and weights, but this is a chance to check and apply your knowledge you have learned reading this book. Believe it or not, I have not yet told you about every herb that is in it, so you will see explanations and research about the ones I missed in the story manuscript. The ones you should already know are left blank. Notice how I have enhancers, directors etc. in here and apply your herbal learning so far, as to why. The product is for sale but since we only make it up in small batches, you will probably be directed to sign up on a waiting list, or be advised it will be a 4-week delivery time if not in stock.   Oil of oregano is a natural antibiotic that is more powerful than many prescription antibiotics. Just one-part wild oregano oil in 4000 dilution was found to be sufficient to sterilize contaminated water, I have seen on the web, but don’t quite believe on a number of internet sites! (1) One study showed that oregano completely inhibited the growth of 25 germs such as Staphylococcus aureas, Escherichia coli, Yersinia enterocolitica and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. (2) Oregano has been shown to be effective in eradicating intestinal parasites in humans. (3) Wild oregano has over 50 antibacterial compounds. (Wild oregano oil is quite different from the variety found on most kitchen spice racks.)

Oregano powder is made from 100% pure oregano oil, producing one of the most potent antibiotics known.

  Antivenom

Wild Oregano oil is capable of neutralizing venomous bites, making it invaluable in the wilderness or when traveling abroad. It's an effective first aid treatment for venomous bites of all varieties including bees, snakes and spiders. Wild Oregano oil is also useful for preventing infection from animal bites and other puncture wounds. It reduces inflammation and stops the pain associated with bites and stings. Apply directly to stings or bites.

  Wild Indigo as an Antibiotic

Wild indigo was once as a remedy for snake bites by Native Americans.

Wild indigo has an antibiotic effect on a wide range of microbes, including many bacteria and fungi. It kills the microbe by preventing it from multiplying in the body.

Wild indigo also has an immune-enhancing effect. It is also a strong decongestant.

The combination of anti-infective effect combined with immune stimulation makes wild indigo a very useful herb for fighting infection and terrorist-inflicted biological agents. These natural remedies act on more than one dimension to provide you with effective relief.

Taking wild indigo orally in the form of a tincture was found to result in a 30-percent increase in the number of white blood cells in the body within two to three hours of taking the substance. White blood cells are the cells that fight infection. A similar effect is obtained by taking a homeopathic preparation incorporating this herb.

Some people use Siberian ginseng to improve athletic performance and the ability to do work. True to its adaptogen nature, research shows it can protect the body from various stresses as an antioxidant. As for helping with emotional stress, anxiety, and depression, research is unclear. Eleutheroside B or E, the main component of Acanthopanax, can relieve fatigue, enhance memory, and improve human cognition. Siberian Ginseng appears to act as a Central Nervous System stimulant, promotes resistance to stress and fatigue, and helps to improve memory. Soviet scientists coined the term in 1964 to describe herbs that increase the body's nonspecific resistance and vitality, helping the body adapt to and defend against the effects of various stressors and increase work capacity and efficiency and ability to concentrate. Most data on Siberian ginseng has been completed by Russian scientists to improve athletic performance in Olympic athletes and is not readily available in English.

Nigella sativa has been widely used as a spice and flavoring agent in a variety of food preparations such as in bread, yogurt, pickles, sauces, and salads. Black seed or black cumin (English), Habbatul Barakah (Arabic), Tikur azmud (Amharic), has long been used in traditional remedies in the Arabian countries, Far East Asia, Europe, and Africa [31]. Nigella sativa has also been described as the miraculous plant and considered by earliest herbal specialists as “The herb from heaven” [32]. The Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) had described the curative powers of the black seed as “Hold on to use this black seed, as it has a remedy for every illness except death” [33]. Avicenna, a well-known physician of 10th century famous for his book “The Canon of Medicine,” has recommended use of Nigella seeds for enhancement of the body’s energy and also support during recovery from fatigue and dispiritedness. Nigella sativa is also mentioned for its curative property in the Holy Bible and is also labelled as Melanthion by Hippocrates and Dioscorides [34, 3].

The medicinal use of black cumin seeds in various traditional herbal systems is known for a wide range of ailments which include different airway disorders, for pain such as chronic headache and back pain, diabetes, paralysis, infection, inflammation, hypertension, and digestive tract related problems administered in different kind of preparations. It has also been used topically where it is applied directly to the blisters, nasal abscesses, orchitis, eczema, and swollen joints.

The seed of Nigella sativa (N. sativa) has been used in different civilizations around the world for centuries to treat various animal and human ailments. So far, numerous studies demonstrated the seed of Nigella sativa and its main active constituent, thymoquinone, to be medicinally very effective against various illnesses including different chronic illnesses: neurological and mental illness, cardiovascular disorders, cancer, diabetes, inflammatory conditions, and infertility as well as various infectious diseases due to bacterial, fungal, parasitic, and viral infections. In spite of limited studies conducted so far, the promising efficacy of N. sativa against HIV/AIDS can be explored as an alternative option for the treatment of this pandemic disease after substantiating its full therapeutic efficacy. Moreover, the strong antioxidant property of this valued seed has recently gained increasing attention with regard to its potential role as a dietary supplement with minimal side effects. Besides, when combined with different conventional chemotherapeutic agents, it synergizes their effects resulting in reducing the dosage of concomitantly used drugs with optimized efficacy and least and/or no toxicity. A number of pharmaceutical and biological properties have been ascribed to seeds of N. sativa.

The maximal nutritional value of black cumin can be linked to the presence of a substantial amount of vegetable protein, fiber, minerals and vitamins. The nutritional composition reported from different sources revealed 20-85% of protein, 38.20% of fat, 7-94% of fiber, and 31.94% of total carbohydrates. Among various amino acids identified, glutamate, arginine, and aspartate while cysteine and methionine were the major and minor amino acids, respectively. Black cumin seeds also contain significant levels of iron, copper, zinc, phosphorus, calcium, thiamin, niacin, pyridoxine, and folic acid.

Among the promising medicinal plants, black cumin is a worthwhile herb with a rich historical and religious basis to manage depression and many other neurological disorders.

Lecithin- I use it as an emulsifier.

Lecithin describes a substance that’s naturally found in the tissues of your body. It’s made up of fatty acids, and it has a variety of commercial and medical uses.

Lecithin works as an emulsifier, meaning it suspends fats and oils and keeps them from mixing with other substances.

The most well-known activity of lecithin is its ability to lower cholesterol. Lecithin is also believed to have positive effects in the repair of livers damaged by any number of conditions, including excess consumption of alcohol or other toxins.

Lecithin has shown, in addition to the heart, circulatory and metabolic benefits, a tendency to aid the brain in memory and learning. Studies conducted on the effects of lecithin on the brain lean towards a conclusion that users of the supplement are likely to experience increased memory and ability to recall specific information. The benefits of lecithin on the brain are promising to patients who may be suffering from Alzheimer's disease or other memory-specific neurological conditions. Improved memory and recall are a sign of a brain's overall standard of health, and may imply benefits that extend to orientation and cognitive thought processes.

Deficient Kidney and Liver Yin patterns with symptoms such as dizziness, vertigo, blurred vision, headache and hypertension- combine chrysanthemum flowers with Heal-All flower spikes, in Chinese (Xia Ku Cao).

Learn to identify and use common first aid plants, there are likely some around you wherever you are situated.

Plants have long been used as a basis of traditional remedies in the history of mankind and also act as sources of modern medicines. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than three-fourths of the communities in resource-limited countries rely upon medicinal plants for their primary health care needs because more than 60% of the societies are unable to have access and/or afford allopathic medicines.
