“It’s all right,” Michelle said. “You were just looking out for me. Nobody has ever done that before. At least not since I left the MC. And I doubt anybody ever will again if I leave.”

“That’s not true,” Blade said, quick to defend Michelle from herself. “If you wanted to leave, anybody you ran into would be lucky as hell. And if they didn’t know it, then they’re a bunch of fuckin’ idiots.”

Michelle grinned and shook her head. “Thanks.”

Blade nodded and they fell into a loaded silence. Suddenly, Michelle spoke again.

“Do you want to come and see the ultrasound with me?” she asked shyly. “I mean, it’s your kid, too.”

  Blade was shocked.

“You mean like, see the little bean in your belly on like an x-ray screen?”

  Michelle smiled. “Something like that.”

“I’d be honored,” Blade said, moving quickly to her side and kissing her hand. “I’ll do anything you want me to do during this thing. This is my baby, too. And if you want me to be there, I will be. If you don’t, I can split. That’s all right too. I can pay you and make sure the kid has good clothes and a nice school, but if you think I can’t be a dad or I’d be a bad influence, then…”

“What?” Michelle said, furrowing her brow at him as if he were the biggest idiot in the world. “Of course, you’ll be involved. If you want to be. And if you want to be a good dad, you will be. I know you have it in you.”

Blade’s heart warmed at the words. He had been terrified about this for so long that now that it was happening, her encouragement meant everything to him.

“I’m glad you feel that way. But really, however you want to do this baby thing is fine.”

“I know. And thank you for making that clear.”

Blade nodded and then sighed deeply. “I should probably get out of here.”

  “Already?”

“Well…we kinda threatened the guy to let us in here,” Blade said, grinning. “So technically I’m not even supposed to be here. But the guys and I were worried about you.”

Michelle laughed and slapped his arm. “What the hell? Poor Dr. Dorian. He’s going to love it when we come back in for the ultrasound.”

Blade snorted. “He’ll probably remember us and give us a picture of an alien baby or something.”

Michelle burst out laughing and smiled fondly at Blade. “You’re pretty hard to forget…I really missed you. When I get home, we should have a talk.”

“Sure,” Blade said, the heavy weight on his chest that had been there since their fallout finally lifting. “I’d love to.”

Michelle smiled at him and Blade nodded formally. Maybe things weren’t going to be so bad after all.

  Chapter 17

“I’m fine!” Michelle exclaimed, slapping Blade’s hands away from her as she slowly climbed the stairs up to her room.

“But the doctor said no stress,” Blade informed her.

It was almost cute how literal he was being with the doctor’s instructions but Michelle wasn’t sure she was enjoying being treated like porcelain. It wasn’t fun being robbed of her independence.

“I know what the doctor said, Blade, because he said it to me!”

Blade was silent and continued holding Michelle’s arm stubbornly until she reached the top of the stairs. He was sweet, underneath all that muscle and attitude. She had to give him that.

“All right,” Blade said gently, opening the doorway and ushering into the bedroom like she was about to break. “In you go.”

He helped her down into the bed and turned to leave.

“Blade, wait. I don’t feel like being alone right now. Would you mind keeping me company?”

Blade looked surprised at first, then pleased. “Of course.”

He sat down beside Michelle on the bed and the tension between their bodies was immediate. If it didn’t feel so good to have him so close to her, she would have regretted inviting him to stay.

When Blade looked at her again, the longing in his eyes was undeniable. She had to admit, she’d been thinking of him more and more since his visit at the hospital. She’d come clean to him about how she felt and he’d been respectful of it. It was a complete change from what would have happened with Alan.

“What’s the matter?” Blade asked, perceptive to every subtle change in her face. He was looking for signs she was suffering, being hypervigilant about her health after her fainting spell.

“Just thought of the pigfucker,” she said, smiling quickly.

“Ah, you’re finally getting his name right,” Blade said with a sagely nod. “Very good.”

“Shut up,” Michelle said with a laugh, pushing his broad shoulder. Again, the tension between them became so thick she could almost smell it, and she looked down, her cheeks flushed. “Are you sure you can handle this? With me and the baby and everything?”

“What do you mean?” Blade asked. He didn’t want to make presumptions.

“I mean…I want us to try again,” Michelle whispered, looking down at her hands. “It doesn’t feel right to be so distant with you.”

She expected Blade to speak again, but instead, he answered with his body. Michelle’s breath was swept away by the fervent tugging of his soft lips, and she was immediately electrified. Blade kissed her slowly and languidly, letting his hand roll down the nearly imperceptible baby mount in her abdomen.

His broad fingers left fire in their wake and she closed her eyes and shuddered beneath him. It had been too long. She’d wanted him more than she would ever be able to admit.

He reciprocated the feeling and Michelle gasped as she felt the sudden, hard mound of Blade’s cock between her legs. He was climbing over her, dominating, moving his hips against her and letting his lips fall all over her as he gently stripped her clothes away.

Michelle gasped as Blade’s lips found the firm mound of her nipples and he licked them languidly, sending another burst of fire to her loins. He reciprocated it happily with a gentle thrust of the hips that sent him partly inside of her.

Even just the small taste of it nearly brought Michelle to orgasm, but Blade was far from finished. He kissed the nape of her neck, when suddenly she pushed him away.

“Is this safe for the baby?” she asked.

Blade smiled. “Yep. Just have to take it easy is all. No harm done. I cleared that with the doctor too.”

  “You dog!” Michelle exclaimed.

Blade laughed heartily and thrust himself back inside of her, fully this time. Michelle’s entire body suddenly exploded with pleasure as Blade unleashed his power upon her, more gently this time than the last, showering kisses all over her body. She closed her eyes and realized that, for the first time in her life, she was making love.

When she opened her eyes again, Blade was gazing at her in concern. Michelle smiled and touched his stubbled cheek.

“I love you,” she whispered. “And no, it’s not just the hormones saying that. I want us to work at this.”

“I love you, too,” Blade said. “More than I even know what to do with.”

As if to give her the evidence of his words, Blade sped up his thrusting, until Michelle was gasping for breath beneath him. Every touch from his body sent spirals of ecstasy throughout her body, and suddenly she began to quake. Michelle could feel herself contracting around Blade’s member as it massaged her inside.

He seemed to sense her orgasm, because he quickened his pace, and soon they were hissing together as Blade’s cock exploded with activity as it began to unleash a torrent of his hot climax deep inside of her. Michelle gripped Blade to brace herself as she came harder than she ever had in her life and Blade prolonged it by thrusting slowly inside of her until every last drop had been spilled.

“You’re my family now,” Michelle said, kissing Blade gently as he pulled her into a warm embrace.

“Yep,” he said. “Do you think the baby would like living in Zeke’s old room?”

  Michelle’s heart melted an
d they both reached down to touch her abdomen. “I think that would be perfect,” she said.

  ***

“Come on, Blade, we’re going to be late!”

Somehow, Michelle had turned into Brett, standing outside the car, looking impatiently at her watch. The truth was that she was excited about the ultrasound. More than she had been about just about anything.

  “You’re not going anywhere.”

Michelle froze in fear at the sound of Alan’s voice and she whipped around to face him. He looked beaten up, even several weeks after the incident with Blade. Disfigured might have been the word for it.

“You’re coming with me,” Alan said. Five police cars pulled up behind him and an officer from each got out. “I reported the assault and that little boy toy of yours is going to prison.”

Michelle’s heart lurched as people began to file out of the MC, wondering what the hell was going on.

“What are you doing here?” Blade’s voice boomed over their heads. “You have no right!”

“I have every right!” Alan exclaimed.

Brett suddenly stepped forward in the crowd.

“Actually, you don’t,” he said, squaring his shoulders firmly and standing in front of Alan.

“What are you doing, kid? Get out of here before someone swats you,” Alan mumbled. “I’m here to talk to the real men.”

“You wouldn’t know anything about real men,” Brett said, pulling his wallet from his pocket and flipping it open. “My name is Brett Andrews. FBI. You’re under arrest.”

  “On what grounds?!” Alan exclaimed.

“I saw the way you treated your ex. That’s assault, buddy. Among other things. You’re going to be put away for a long time.”

“You’re kidding me!” Alan shouted, his body quaking with fury.

“I’m afraid not,” Brett said, dexterously curling Alan’s hands behind his back and handcuffing him. “I’ve seen this whole little shitshow play out and I’ve got to say, nobody is very happy about it. You’ve been wasting the bureau’s money and spending time and resources when real crime is going on in your jurisdiction. Every officer here is being put on probation.”

Michelle watched in disbelief as Alan was led away to Brett’s little red car. He turned to the police officers standing outside and glared at them. “Get those vehicles back to the department and clock out. Now.”

The bikers cheered and jeered as the cop cars were escorted shamefully out of MC territory and Blade lifted Michelle up over his head so she could watch them as they left for good. It made her heart soar when Brett waved to her and gave her a wink as he drove Alan away, where he would stay in prison for a long time.

“I can’t believe it,” Blade said when everybody had finally cleared out. “I knew there was something up with that guy. There was a reason I didn’t like him besides thinking you two were fucking.”

Michelle raised her eyebrow at him warningly and he grinned. “And what reason is that?” she asked.

  “He’s a cop!”

The bikers all had a good laugh at that, just as Michelle suddenly realized that they were really going to be late for the appointment this time.

“Blade! We seriously have to go!”

“But our ride just left,” Blade pointed out.

“No worries! Auntie Jo will drive you!”

Snake nodded his approval and Michelle hugged her. “Thank you.”

“Of course, of course. I want to be there every step of the way.”

“Well then,” Michelle said, grinning up at Blade. “Are you ready for this ultrasound, daddy?”

  “Daddy? Oh, I like that.”

Michelle shot him a death look and he grinned sheepishly.

  “Yes, love. I’m ready.”

They all piled into Jo’s truck together, Blade and Michelle holding hands. She felt suddenly free, as if for the first time since marrying Alan, everything was going to be all right. With Blade at her side and the child in her belly, she would never be lonely again.

  The End

  Daddy Danger

  Chapter 1

“See ya, Frank,” said Arrow, grabbing the paper bag full of groceries sitting haphazardly on the counter.

Frank ignored him, scoffing as he looked away. Arrow tried not to let it bother him. Frank had been spurned in the depths of Arrow’s addiction. Frank, being a trusted friend since elementary school, hadn’t thought twice about loaning Arrow a significant amount of money, fully expecting it to be returned. Even if it hadn’t, Frank would have forgiven him, except that Arrow had done the same thing again, to Frank’s wife. And then his daughter.

Arrow sighed, walking sullenly to his motorcycle and putting his groceries away. He couldn’t blame Frank for being pissed; Arrow had lost everything during his addiction. He had used just about everybody he could for whatever he felt like they were worth. Arrow had become everything he hated, even turning on the Pythons Motorcycle Club. They were more forgiving than everybody else, but he still had to fight harder than ever to move up in the ranks. He would have to prove himself.

“Son of a bitch!” Arrow growled, dodging a fist just as he was about to mount his bike.

Well, it wasn’t his bike technically. It was some clunker he had traded his real pride and joy for.

Why? Because it had come generously stocked with heroin. He missed his bike almost as if he’d lost a family member. God, there was never a day when his past didn’t catch up with him.

“You deserve more than that, you asshole!”

Arrow whipped around and saw Frank’s older brother Phil standing in front of him, his eyes narrowed and his fists clenched.

  “Yeah, yeah,” Arrow said.

He wasn’t going to fight with Phil; he had already done enough damage to their family.

“You know, Phil, I’m in this program now. I’m clean. I know it doesn’t mean much, but…”

“Damn right it don’t! I don’t give a shit about what you’re doing these days to justify being such a piece of shit! You don’t mean nothin’, Arrow. But you’re going to get yours.”

Arrow pursed his lips. “Well, regardless of how you feel about that, I’m sorry for what I’ve done. You don’t have to forgive me, but maybe you’ll take comfort in knowing that I do know you all deserve better.”

Phil jutted his chin up, his face looking like a kettle that was about to screech. Arrow sighed. It was no use. He climbed onto his motorcycle and gazed down at Phil, his chest tight. He regretted nothing more than his days as an addict. But he wasn’t going to be a pussy, and refuse to acknowledge his mistakes or run away from them. It would be easy to start over somewhere else, but there was no way in hell he would abandon the MC. He would fix his mistakes, one way or another.

“I don’t expect any of you to give me the time of day anymore, but one day you’ll see that I’m not the man I used to be.”

Still, Phil said nothing. Arrow revved the engine of his bike and took off toward home.

  ***

  “Where you been, Arrow?”

“Ran into some trouble on the way back. But I brought your stuff.”

  “Good.”

Killer grabbed the bag of groceries from Arrow. “You’re needed in the bar.”

  “Shit.”

Killer let out a harsh chuckle and Arrow parted ways with Killer, the vice president of the MC. Arrow had been VP before his addiction had taken hold, and in a way, he had to admit he was deeply jealous of Killer for taking over the position. Still, someone had to step up when Arrow hadn’t. He was lucky it was a guy like Killer, who would still give him the time of day. He had even helped Arrow to get to the meetings that had changed his life. It was something he couldn’t overlook, and Killer had earned the title.

Still, Arrow was determined to work his way back up the ranks again. He wanted nothing more than to prove to the world, and, possibly, to prove to himself, that he was still a man worthy of honor and respect,o matter how low he had gotten during his stint with dru
gs.

It was that damn woman’s fault. Marcia. She’dbeen so intoxicating, in so many ways. Before he knew it, he’d let her take him down a long road of self-destruction from which he’d probably spend the rest of his life trying to find redemption.

  “Arrow! Over here.”

Arrow’s dark thoughts slipped away when he saw the easy smile of Thatcher, a complete hardass in his own right, but still one of the most optimistic people that Arrow had met. The MC had been a family to him when he had driven everybody else away. Again, he was filled with the strong urge to protect them at all costs, and to get a powerful position back that would allow him to do so in the most efficient way possible. He would wait as long as it took.

“Hey Thatcher,” said Arrow, sitting on the bar stool beside Thatcher.

Rex slid him a glass of whisky from across the bar and Arrow nodded in thanks.

  “What’s going on, man?”

“I wanted you to hear it from me first,” said Thatcher.

  “Hear what?” Arrow asked, frowning.

“Hear about what’s going down across town.”

Arrow took a deep drink of his whisky. “If it’s that important than just spit it out, man.”

“Hawk is back. On our turf.”

Arrow’s stomach knotted. There was no name he hated worse. Hawk, who had sent Marcia out to draw unsuspecting men back to his lair, where he then took over with his silver tongue and got people hooked on his drug. Hawk, who thought nothing of ruining people’s lives to make his own profit.

And now he was encroaching on Python territory.

“Are you sure?” Arrow asked, trying to keep the emotion out of his voice.

As angry as he was, he was also deeply ashamed of himself for falling victim to the man’s trap. He should have been stronger than that. But after Marcia overdosed, he used his grief as an excuse to simply fall deeper into the traps of addiction.

“Positive, man,” Thatcher said, shaking his head. “The crew saw him and a couple of men leaving with him. Big guys.”
