Heaven's Hell

“Bitch, how do anybody not know G, okay? The nigga is god. Me and my sister both threw the bait but that nigga was not biting. Girl, if it wasn’t for the fact that I know a chick that used to fuck with him, I woulda thought the nigga was gay, trying to play me and shit.” Heaven laughed at Toy’s excessive confidence, to the average person it would have been clearly annoying. But to Heaven, it was funny.

“He’s definitely not gay,” Heaven added. Toy spun around again, this time mouth wide open. She looked at Heaven with the ‘no you didn’t’ face.

  “Unh-Unh, girl you fucked him?!”

Heaven nearly choked on her gum before she answered, stammering.

“No. Hell no. I’m just saying.” Toy eyed Heaven suspiciously, somehow she didn’t believe her. She looked Heaven up and down and saw how she could pull a nigga like that, though. Heaven was cute, smart, with a fat ass, plus she had that whole innocent good girl thing going on that guys be digging hard. Toy could see how a dude would flip for her, but no matter how hard Toy jocked for a dude, the good girl routine was just not her thing.

“Mmm-hmmm,” Toy responded, putting on her stiletto knee high boots over her skinny jeans. “You aint got to lie, girl. Cause if it was me, and I was fucking that fine ass chocolate nigga, what? Girl, the whole mothafuckin hood would know. Early.” The girls heard a beeping horn outside as they shared a good laugh and Heaven knew that was Shay. Heaven did a glance over in the mirror before heading outside. She looked good in her tight jeans, stilettos, and her new sexy low cut top that she had purchased at the mall last week, while Khalil was out and about. At first Heaven was skeptical about buying something so sexy, but she tried it on, and it was perfect. She had thought she would have to save it for school, she never thought she’d get an opportunity so soon to wear it.

Heaven strutted outside and hopped in the passenger seat of Shay’s Acura. The car smelled like strawberries.

“Damn, Heaven. Look at you, girl. I aint gonna be able to pull no niggas messing around wit’ you.” Shay was dressed cute and relaxed in fitted jeans, peep toe stilettos, and a designer fitted tee. “Your hair looks good like that too,” Shay added. Heaven’s hair was straight down and parted in the middle, hanging all the way down her back. She looked like Pocahontas.

“Thanks Shay. You look cute, too,” Heaven answered, as the girls took off heading for the party.

When they pulled up, Heaven got small butterflies in her stomach. She kept thinking that somehow she would see Khalil, although she knew his old ass would not be up in here. Shay promised that he was tied up at the bar for the night. Friday nights were busy and Khalil liked to get drunk with the patrons.

Heaven double-checked her make up in the visor mirror before getting out.

“Heaven what’s your middle name?” Shay asked, as they headed to the door. Heaven looked at her confused.

  “I don’t have one.”

“Okay, well once we get inside, your name is Angel. We don’t want any word getting back to Khalil about you being here. It aint too many Heaven’s around.”

  Heaven giggled.

  “Angel?”

“Yeah, you know. Heaven, Angels,” Shay mused jokingly, as Heaven suddenly stopped short in the parking lot.

“Shay, what if somebody tells Khalil you were here. I’m supposed to be with you.”

Shay dismissed the notion with a wave of her hand.

“Girl, I aint worried bout Khalil, he aint my man. But anyway, I’ll either say I stopped up here real quick while you were sleep or I’ll make up something. I was just worried about you, that’s all. But forget all that. Let’s go have some fun.”

They gave their names at the door and were let in with no problem. Once inside, Heaven became instantly transformed. The music was blaring and it excited her. The lights were dim with a red glow. The club was packed, there were niggas everywhere, and Heaven definitely had their attention. It was a sudden high for her and she couldn’t believe what she had been missing.

“Hey girl!” Toy shouted, running up to Heaven as if she hadn’t just seen her. Heaven wondered how she made it there so quick, they must had left right after her and Shay. “I told you that you were gonna get in wit’ no problems. It’s fly in here, right?”

Heaven smiled widely and nodded as she looked around for that one familiar face but she didn’t see him, it was too packed.

“Well since she aint gonna introduce us, I’m Toy,” Toy greeted Shay, making fun of Heaven.

“Oh I’m sorry,” Heaven apologized, snapping back to reality. Shay laughed before answering.

“It’s okay, I think I know where her focus was. My name is Shay.” Shay definitely knew what Heaven was up to.

“Oh listen, Toy. My name is Angel tonight,” Heaven added.

“Ooh okay I remember that game, girl. You be giving dudes you don’t like fake names and numbers, right? Oh okay, mine is gonna be Laquisha,” Toy added, in all her ghetto-ness. Heaven and Shay both laughed.

“No Toy. I don’t want my man to know I was here so if anyone asks, my name is Angel okay?” Toy nodded yes but wondered just how bad Heaven’s boyfriend was. The girl couldn’t even go to a party? Damn.

“Well anyway, I gots to mingle cause I’m the hostess with the mostess. I’ll be back, ya’ll go have a drink or something,” Toy said, before taking off.

Heaven and Shay made their way over to the bar where Shay ordered herself an apple martini and ordered Heaven a water that she asked for.

“Girl, niggas gonna think you on X drinking that water,” Shay humored, handing Heaven her bottle of Fiji water.

  “Think I’m on what?”

“Ecstasy Hev. And if anybody asks you do you want some or they offer you any type of pill, don’t take that shit. And don’t drink anything that you let out of your sight, okay?” Heaven nodded her head yes and bopped to the beat of Beyonce. Shit Heaven felt like Beyonce tonight, she felt like a superstar. Heaven felt somebody pressed up against her from behind so she turned around.

“Damn ma, what’s your name? I aint never seen nuttin’ like you before, gorgeous.” Heaven blushed and Shay turned away to keep from laughing at the thug with the platinum grill making Heaven swoon. If this girl gonna blush off of every nigga that holla at her, we got a long night ahead of us.

“My name is Hev-Angel.” Heaven said almost slipping.

“Hevangel? That’s a nice name, sexy. You got a man?” Heaven almost spit her water out in laughter. Heaven didn’t know what to say. He was cute but she couldn’t talk to him, she didn’t really want to talk to him.

“Yes, I have a man. I’m sorry.” She turned her back to him and continued to sip her water as her and Shay laughed.

“Hevangel?” Shay asked, still cracking up. “Aw man, you are too funny Hev. Ooh this is my song! Come on, let’s dance,” Shay said, pulling Heaven onto the crowded dance floor to wind to Biggie and R.Kelly’s ‘Fucking U Tonight’. Heaven mimicked the girls she watched on videos. As she moved her waist around and swayed her ass, she realized she was either doing a really good job or making a fool out of herself because even the females were looking at her.

  “God damn!” One guy shouted.

“Damn baby! You can make some money off of that ass at my club!” A man close by Heaven added.

“Yo Tone, watch ya muhfukin mouth nigga!” Someone responded, but it wasn’t Heaven. She was thinking it, but she didn’t say it, whoever said it had a much deeper voice. She turned around and found G standing there staring at her, looking oh so sexy. Heaven damn near melted.

“I know how to take care of myself,” Heaven sang to him, wearing her smile.

“I can see that,” G flirted, looking her up and down, as he licked his lips.

“What up G!” Shay screamed over the music as she hugged him.

“What up Shay. What yall doing up here? Especially you,” G asked, as he lightly grabbed Heaven’s waist and then let go. He was just trying to find an excuse to touch her, she looked too good.r />
“My friend Toy is having this party, she invited us. But don’t tell Khalil,” Heaven added.

G wondered why Heaven was friends with Toy, they were so different, at least he hoped so. He left it alone for now though.

“Fuck Khalil,” G barked as Shay and Heaven laughed. He pulled Heaven by the hips close to him, her back facing him. “Nah but for real though? You think I would tell Khalil?” His voice was so deep and so sexy.

“No,” She answered, as his breath tickled her ear.

“You think I give a fuck about Khalil?” He questioned, getting closer to her. She giggled.

“No,” She answered again, more breathy.

“Matter of fact, do you even give a fuck about Khalil right now?” He asked, as his hands traced up and down the sides of her waist while they rocked slowly. Heaven began moving her body around again, slower and extra sexy for G. She had almost forgotten just how he made her feel.

“No,” She whispered. They danced to the song as Loc stood to the side looking around the club and not believing his cousin was so on Heaven. He knew it would lead to trouble. G leaned down to Heaven’s left ear and playfully sang R Kelly’s verse to her as she took her left arm and put it behind his head.

“Let’s stop the bullshit bayyy-beyyyy, let me take you to the spot, get you hot.” They laughed together and Heaven was so glad he was there, not knowing that he was feeling the same. G didn’t even want to come, but Loc did, so they were supposed to just swing through for a minute. He didn’t think he would run into her.

The song ended and Heaven turned around to face him. They were in their own little world until Toy came over.

“Hey girl! You having fun?” Toy asked, eyes on G the whole time.

“Yea, I am. Thanks for inviting me… Oh, do you guys know each other? G, this is my friend Toy.” Toy jumped in.

“Of course I know G, I mean who don’t know you, right G?” Toy asked, flirting lightly. G chuckled but was clearly uninterested.

“I don’t know about all that. What up Toy? You treating my young boy good?” G asked, reminding her that he knew that she fucked with one of his young runners, Young-J. He had to lean into her a little to talk over the music.

“You know it, Young-J stays satisfied,” she shot back, leaning in even closer. Heaven was not really feeling the way Toy was acting and she didn’t like not being a part of the conversation, but she brushed it off because she knew how girls were. Plus she didn’t really tell Toy that she liked him, they just were kicking around names to see who knew who and that’s how G came up.

“Oh, Young-J, that’s the one I met right?’ Heaven butted in. Shit Toy didn’t know, G was hers.

Toy nodded, but no one said anything else. The conversation was clearly over, however Toy didn’t move. G turned to Heaven.

“Listen, I’ll be back alright. Me and Loc gotta go holla at somebody for a minute.” Heaven tried to hide the disappointment on her face but it was kind of clear. G winked at her as if reading her mind. Then he disappeared through the crowd. Thanks a lot Toy.

“Girl, he is sooooo fine! Did you see his watch? That shit cost him a grip! Oh no, I am leaving with him. Did you see how he was looking at me?” Toy exclaimed, all in one breath. Heaven felt sick to her stomach.

“Toy, Um I didn’t really tell you about me and G,” Heaven said loudly over the music. Toy strained to hear her.

  “What? What you mean?”

“We kinda, well I kinda like him. A lot,” Heaven confessed, waiting for Toy’s reaction.

“Yea but Heaven, I thought you had a man? Why you being stingy?” Toy inquired, with her hands on her hips half serious and half joking.

“I do, but you don’t understand. Just please, just leave G alone. Alright?” Heaven didn’t know what she was worried about anyway, G openly did not seem interested in Toy. Maybe it was because Toy was so open and free, and sexy, she could probably be at G’s beck and call. Heaven was like the girl that never came outside so the guys didn’t date her. Toy looked at Heaven long and hard before answering, thinking, I don’t even know this girl like that, she killing my groove. But she did like Heaven, and she could tell Heaven was sincere.

“Alright, girl. But you owe me. Burgers and onion rings after the party on you, bitch.” Toy winked and smiled, and was off through the crowd again.

Heaven was off through the crowd herself, this time searching for Shay.

An hour had passed and G still hadn’t returned. Heaven had found Shay over by the bar sipping on another martini. She had run down the whole dance scene and the conversation with Toy.

“Heaven, just watch out for her, alright?” Shay warned, taking another strong sip.

“Why? She said she was gonna leave him alone,” Heaven reputed naively. Shay just looked at Heaven and smiled sincerely, hoping that Heaven was right about her instincts on Toy.

“I’m just saying, keep ya eyes open and stay on ya toes. Speaking of which, turn around and smile,” Shay added, with a smirk looking behind Heaven. Heaven looked at Shay confused but turned around with a goofy plastered smile. G immediately started laughing at her. She looked cute…silly, but cute. He grabbed her hand lightly.

“Come take a ride wit’ me.” Heaven stood hypnotized, so many things running through her mind like, yes! And no, and I Can’t, and then…

  “Where?” She finally spoke.

“You coming or not?” Was his only answer. Heaven looked at Shay, who nodded her head, and Heaven took that as all the approval she needed. She didn’t want to think or worry tonight, she wanted to ride with G. G smiled at Shay in his own little thank you, and pulled Heaven through the crowd toward the exit. They were almost outside when Heaven heard a familiar voice.

“Where yall going?” Toy screamed over the music, pushing through the crowd and finally catching up to them.

“Oh, we’re just going for a ride,” Heaven replied, as G continued to pull her outside.

“Wait,” Toy whined, grabbing Heaven’s shoulder. “I thought we were going to get something to eat after this.”

  “We were?” Heaven asked, confused.

“Yeah. Remember, burgers and onion rings,” Toy reminded her as if talking in code as she glanced at G, who was looking at her like she was crazy. Heaven realized Toy was talking about the conversation they had about G. Before she could answer, G did.

“Yeah well if it’s alright wit you, can ya’ll get burgers another time? I kinda wanna kick it wit Hev for a minute, aight shorty?” G didn’t wait for an answer, he just grabbed Heaven’s hand again and led her outside as Heaven shrugged at Toy and waved bye.

“Another time, Toy! I promise!” Heaven screamed back, full of excitement and smiling wide. Toy stood there, blood boiling, but trying her best not to show it.

“But I didn’t even cut my cake!” She screamed back. But Heaven and G were well on their way to his black on black Maserati, not giving a damn about anybody’s cake.

“Comfortable?” G asked Heaven playfully, making fun of the fact that she had kicked off her stilettos and kicked her pretty feet up on his dashboard.

“Shut up!” She spat at him. “Anyway, where are you taking me?”

“Don’t worry, I got you Hev,” He responded. She smiled and looked out of her window. It was beginning to rain lightly and Heaven thought of how happy she was to be with him. It just felt natural. As G put on his wipers and proceeded out of the parking lot toward the highway, Heaven rubbed the leather seats with her hands and looked around at the luxury of his car. The first time she had been inside of it was with Khalil, and she didn’t get a chance to admire all of its features. Heaven definitely could see why people spent so much money on these luxury cars, they were so gorgeous.

“What do you do?” Heaven asked, curious.

“What you mean?” G replied nonchalantly, even though he knew exactly what she meant.

“Like you know…for work. You’re so young, and this car, it’s really nice G.” G could tell by her tone
that she truly had no idea of what he did. It was new for G to meet a female that didn’t already have his life story mapped out in their head, another quality that drew him to Heaven. However, he was always cautious and apprehensive whenever talking about his business with anyone outside of his business.

“Oh yeah? You like it?” He asked, as she nodded her head and he continued. “But um, I do a lot of different things. You know, I own a few bars, a few clubs, I got a dealership that a lot of my income flows from. And I got a restaurant,” he added with a smile. “That’s my baby. Madeline’s up in Montclair, I even get in the kitchen and do a little cooking sometimes.” Heaven giggled and wondered where the name came from. She contemplated if Madeline was a girlfriend of his.

“Madeline’s?” She questioned skeptically, and he picked up on her drift. He chuckled.

  “My mother.”

“Oh,” She responded softly, happy. There was a brief silence as Heaven thought of her own mother. G figured that may have been the cause for her sudden silence.

“You wanna turn on the radio? It’s some CD’s on the floor,” he offered.

“No, I’m fine,” she answered, leaning back in her seat.

“Wanna watch TV?” He asked, pressing the button that eased the screen up from the dashboard. Heaven giggled at him.

  “No, thank you.”

“You hungry… Thirsty... What? What can I get for Ms. Heaven?” He probed, flirting with his eyes. Heaven laughed harder before replying.

  “Nothing.”

  “Nothing?” He asked, feigning surprise.
