Heaven's Hell Page 22

by Takerra, Allen

“Heaven, I need to holla at you for a minute,” Shay said, but Heaven addressed Loc.

  “Where’s G, Loc?”

No this bitch didn’t, Shay thought.

“Oh, uh he went to holla at somebody real quick.” Loc was thrown off. “Where did you disappear to?” He asked, already really knowing but wondering why they were in the bathroom for so long.

The effects of the drug were coming down on Heaven.

“Why? Were you worried about me Loc?” Heaven purred, a little too sultry for Shay’s liking.

Loc had drank about four shots of Hennessey and was feeling nice sipping on his fifth, he almost forgot that Shay was standing there. And Heaven was looking good enough to eat. He would never violate his cousin, but the way she was dressed, just looking for tonight was like watching a high-class stripper slide down a pole. Very entertaining.

“Of course… of course, shorty. You like fam, you know,” he added, reminding himself out loud.

Shay stormed off without warning and at that point Loc knew he was smiling a little too much and looking a little too hard. He went to go after her but Heaven grabbed his arm.

“Wait, wait Loc. Don’t go after her. I need you to stay with me, I can’t really hold myself up.”

Heaven felt a little dizzy even though she appeared perfectly fine. She leaned on Loc.

“Wait shorty, I’ll be right back. I’m gonna check on Shay, and I’ll find G and send him over here.”

G, where is G? Heaven thought. She was ready to find him and fuck the shit out of him, but where was he?

Just the mention of his name made her feel a little guilty of her flirting with Loc, but hey it was just flirting and she felt liberated, and horny. Not to mention she was pissing Shay off!

  She pulled Loc in closer.

“No Loc, don’t leave. Shay will be back, I need to sit down.”

Loc noticed her glazed eyes and led her to a nearby couch in the corner.

“You alright Heaven? How much did you have to drink? You feel okay?” He asked, genuinely concerned.

Heaven sat on the couch and crossed her legs facing Loc, and then she rested her hand on his shoulder, forgetting they were in a room full of people. I guess this is what makes Angie act so sexy.

“I’m fine Loc. I’m better than fine, I’m good…. I’m really good. Are you fine?” She asked him.

Loc figured she was a little tipsy and was amused at her. He could see how his cousin could be so wrapped up in her. She had the body and face of a grown woman, but the innocence of an angel.

“You look fine tonight, Loc,” she added, brushing her hands on his arm admiring his jacket. Those were not the words of an angel, Loc thought to himself.

“Yeah? You do too Hev. I know G gonna have to keep his eye on you in here,” he added, trying to bring up his cousin as much as possible.

“Yeah, he better. Cause there are a lot of eyes on me already right?” She shot back.

“Yeah, you know it,” Loc responded, staring into her hypnotizing, honey colored eyes.

“Fuck is going on over here?”

They both looked up at G who was standing over them in front of the couch, with an angry Shay next to him. It was then that Loc had noticed Heaven’s hand on his shoulder, her legs turned into him, their closeness, his body turned to her, and worse than ever, his hand on her knee.

Loc instantly drew his body back and stood up feeling guilty and regretful as ever, even though they hadn’t done anything.

“Heaven not feeling too good cuz. I think she a little drunk, naw’mean?” Loc chuckled.

G looked at him seriously after staring down at Heaven who did seem a little tipsy.

“What about you Loc… You drunk too? Cuz?” G added sarcastically.

Loc straightened up and sobered up immediately.

“Naw, I’m straight,” he answered, looking G in the eye.

  “Are you?” G challenged.

“Yeah,” he repeated, and walked off after a brief silence. Shay walked off after him, but first shot Heaven a look of contempt.

“Gggggg,” Heaven sang, still sitting down. “It wasn’t even like that baby. Come here, come sit next to me.”

G sat down but was still looking at Heaven with an emotionless face. Heaven could tell he was pissed, and she blamed Shay for it. She felt Shay had brought G over there and had instigated the situation.

Heaven leaned on G and rested her head on his shoulder; she regretted her flirting and attention seeking with Loc.

“Baby, you mad at me?’ She asked him.

“How much you had to drink Heaven?” G asked, giving her no feedback. She couldn’t read him to tell if he was hot or cold.

“Not that much,” she answered honestly.

G figured she was just lying to cover her drunkenness, she was definitely tipsy, or something.

“G look, I know it looked different, but Loc was just helping me. I felt sick.” Heaven tried to talk through her thoughts. Somewhere in her cloudy mind, she realized the seriousness of the situation and tried to rectify it. However thoughts of sex permeated her brain.

“Do you forgive me?” She added.

G looked down at his pretty girl and knew he forgave her. In his mind, Loc was more at fault than Heaven because he felt as if Heaven was drunk and probably really felt sick, and it was Loc who should have shown him more respect. He couldn’t imagine the type of person Heaven being, that she would disrespect him.

“Yeah, baby girl,” he said, lightening up a little. “ I forgive you. But no more you hear me?”

“No more, G,” she answered, not sure if he meant no more drinking, no more flirting, or both. She rubbed her hand across his smooth face and kissed his cheek. Then she kissed his mouth deeply and moaned. She was on fire.

“Oh G, I want you to fuck me,” she moaned in his ear.

  “What?” He asked, taken back.

She climbed on him and straddled him quickly.

“G fuck me, fuck me right here, I need it,” She begged, aggressively.

G looked in her eyes and immediately knew. He roughly grabbed her and lifted her off of him.

“Heaven, who gave you a drink tonight?” He asked seriously.

  Heaven was perplexed.

  “The servers,” she answered.

He grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to the bar.

“G, where you taking me?” Heaven was startled and excited. “We gonna do it over here?”

G pulled her across the room and reached the bar then slammed his fist on it until a bartender came over.

“Yes sir, is there a problem?” The man knew G didn’t want service by his facial expression.

“You make the drinks?” G demanded.

  “Ye-Yes Sir,” the man stuttered.

“And you give them right to the servers?”

  “Yes, I do.”

One of the lady servers had stopped at the mention of the word ‘servers’.

“So how in the fuck is it that my girl got slipped some fucking ecstasy in her fucking drink in this motherfucka!” G asked, raising his voice, he was pissed. He started to think of Loc, but didn’t even want to go there.

“I-I have no idea.” The bartender was now scared to death. Loc noticed G at the bar looking heated and he and Shay made their way over, interrupting their own argument.

“Yo, what’s good?” Loc asked, staring at the bartender wondering if it was a problem with his cousin.

“You tell me, Loc? Heaven over here high on ecstasy and you was over there in the cut with her. Somebody slipped her some shit,” G shot at his cousin accusingly.

Loc looked at G with hurt eyes. He couldn’t believe he would even come at him like that.

“Yo, you serious right now?” Loc asked.

G just looked at him with fire in his eyes not responding. Loc ran his hand over his head of thick waves and chuckled out of disbelief.

“Yo, what the fuck is happening to you cuz? You think I would do that sh
it? You think I would want to fuck your girl that bad, that I’d have to slip her some shit?”

G studied Loc, and for a moment, he felt bad for even thinking the thoughts that he was. But the person he had just seen on the couch with Heaven was not his cousin, his right hand man since the sand, no, it was a nigga with too much alcohol in his system, trying to fuck. So he didn’t know what to believe. And Loc could tell that, without G even saying so.

The alcohol and the hurt had Loc on the verge of saying something that he knew he shouldn’t. He continued before he could stop himself.

“Aight cuz, word? It’s like that? Well you want the real?”

Shay looked back and forth between G and Loc with their shoulders squared, facing each other, knowing that this would get ugly, and feeling like it was all Heaven’s fault. “Well, the real is your little bitch right there was practically throwing the ass at me. Rubbing on me and shit, talking all out of character. She came out the bathroom with Angie and them other bitches a whole different person, she probably took that shit herself nigga!”

G’s jaw flinched as he tried to reside his surging temper, not knowing who he wanted to hit first, Heaven or Loc, but the decision was made by Loc’s next comment.

“You getting fucking soft B, all over some young ass pussy!”

Loc felt the blow to his face before he could even see G cock his fist back. His drunkenness and the surprise, not to mention the sheer force of G’s blow, sent Loc falling hard to the ground.

He stumbled to get up, holding his face in shock, not believing his flesh and blood had actually embarrassed him in front of all of Jersey, at his very own party, over a bitch!

“Nigga, you must’ve forgot who the fuck you talking to!” G barked furiously. “You work for me mothafucka! If you wasn’t my family, I’d put a slug through ya bitch ass!”

Loc felt the pounding of his face, and he had heard the crack of his jaw, as well as tasted the blood in his mouth, but he couldn’t believe it.

Shay rushed over to him but he pushed her away hard, finally regaining his balance and cupping his face, as blood poured onto the floor. She then looked at Heaven with a look of condescension as the crowd looked on in disbelief.

Security had made their way over to the scene, but were waiting on standby, none of them wanting to intervene because of the two men’s stature.

Loc looked down at his now red blood stained shirt and at the crowd gathered around them. The DJ had cut the music, the waiters had deserted the floor, and everyone was focused on them, including a terrified Heaven who stood behind G with a look of guilt on her face.

Loc looked at her like it was all her fault and it went straight to her heart. She felt horrible.

If you wasn’t my family, I’d put a slug through ya ass!

G’s last words echoed through Loc’s head. He looked at G, and used the back of his hand to try to wipe some blood out of his mouth.

  “We not.”

“What nigga?” G asked, still enraged, as one security guard firmly grabbed his arm.

“We not family no more.” And with that, Loc walked off, as everyone looked at G wondering what he was going to do next.

G’s heart was crushed, but he wouldn’t show it.

Was Loc right? Was he going soft over Heaven? How could he do that to his cousin, his man, his partner?

Heaven grabbing his other arm interrupted his thoughts.

“Come on G, let’s go home.”

He looked down at her as if seeing her for the first time, and shook his arm out of her grasp. She knew at that moment that he believed what Loc had told him. He walked briskly with power toward the door and she followed behind, not looking up at the many faces that were staring at them and parting like a sea for them to pass.

What have I done? Oh my god, what if he kicks me out? And then the fight between him and Loc played in her mind and she began to tear up. What if he hits me?

She didn’t know how, but she knew she had to make it right.

They reached the Maserati and Heaven stood at the passenger side waiting for G to unlock the door. He waited until he got inside, turned on the car, radio and all, before he unlocked her door.

Was he debating leaving me out here?

She got in and put on her seatbelt, scared to make a sound. She even breathed quietly.

G is so much stronger than Khalil, if he hits me I may be able to take it but if he beats me, then I will die for sure.

Heaven was thinking of the blood that resulted from Loc’s blow and cringed.

They drove with not a word between them and when they reached the house, G turned off the car and swiftly hopped out, walking to the front door. Heaven sat for a minute with a huge lump in her throat and followed suit.

By the time she reached the stairs, he was already inside and by the time she reached the inside, he was nowhere to be found.

Heaven slipped off her heels and walked softly up the stairs, terrified that he was going to jump out and deck her.

Tears slipped down her cheeks as she wondered if this was the end of her and G. The thought felt like a stab to the heart.

The night’s events had taken a toll on her body and she wanted nothing more than to climb in bed and wake up, rested and knowing that this was all a dream. But when she made her way up the stairs and saw the light on in one of the guest rooms, she knew that it was not the case.

Heaven made her way past the room and figured she would let him cool off, as she prepared for bed.

Tears flowed like water in her shower that night and by the time she was drying off and slipping on a silk nightie, she had made up her mind to try to talk to G.

She cautiously made her way down the hall and when she reached the room, she was happy to see that the light was still on. The door was cracked, so she stepped in softly and saw G sitting on the bed with his hands tented under his chin. He didn’t even look up at her.

“Can we talk?” She asked him nervously.

He looked at her blankly, and she felt like he was burning holes through her. His stare wasn’t menacing, but it wasn’t warm either, it was detached. He was completely detached from her. She proceeded to explain it all away.

“G, I went into the bathroom and Angie was there, and they were all taking it, I don’t know, and she said that you, you liked it. And Loc, he was just helping me, but I never wanted to sleep with him, I just-”

He cut off her rambling at the mention of Loc.

“Just shut the fuck up, Heaven,” he ordered coldly, looking away from her.

“Huh?” She asked, a sharp pain in her chest. He had never been anything but kind to her.

G looked up at her and felt betrayed, but at the same time, he had feelings for the girl, he couldn’t lie. Still, he wasn’t sure if she was trustworthy, and the drama that she had created between himself and his cousin, infuriated him. He had to think, and he couldn’t do that with her talking and being there in front of him. He needed to be alone but he couldn’t bring himself to say those harsh words to her again.

  “Go to bed, Heaven.”

Tears welled up in her eyes and she feared that there would be no reasoning with him, come tomorrow, she knew that she would be no longer with him. She could have died.

That night, Heaven prayed for the first time in a long time. She used to pray for God to take her away from her father, away from her mother, away from Khalil.

Now that he had done that, she hadn’t felt the need to pray, she was happy. Until tonight.

So she prayed for another chance with G. Then she cried herself to sleep wondering how many prayers God grants a lonely black girl lost.

…The Wicked Witch of the East Coast…

The next day, Heaven stayed in bed until noon. That was the time that G had finally left the house.

She had sat in bed since 8am, listening to him on the phone, taking a shower, brushing his teeth, making breakfast, getting dressed, and then finally closing the door and starting his car.

&n
bsp; She made her way downstairs and searched the cabinets for some tea.

My head feels like it’s going to blow up. I’m never drinking or doing any drugs, ever again!

She made herself some herbal tea and toast and decided to get dressed for the day. G had her in suspense and she had no idea what her next move would be.

With it being a Sunday, Heaven wished that she had a car and license so that she could drive herself to church and really get her prayers in, she had a feeling she would be needing them.

She dressed in a velour tracksuit and lingered around the house for six hours, making sure everything was spic and span and even cooking a nice big dinner. She wanted to remind G of how useful she was.

It was around 6:30 pm when she heard his keys jingling in the door and her heart immediately started racing. Part of her wanted him to just talk to her, but another part thought maybe it was best if he just kept giving her the silent treatment, at least it meant she wasn’t cut off.

G walked into the living room where Heaven was seated on the couch, and put his keys on the table. Here goes nothing.

“Are you hungry? … I cooked.”

G looked up from his phone.

  “Nah.”

“Well, can we talk G? Please?”

He didn’t answer and Heaven was humiliated. She didn’t want him to see her cry. She jumped up and hurried out of the living room but was cut off by his voice.
