Baby Makes Three Page 20

by Lily Love

Craig smirked. “Good. If you said no, I’m pretty sure Isaac would never have gotten over it.”

Jack blinked away tears. He didn’t care what the ring looked like, or how much it cost, or even if it fit. All that mattered was the intent behind it.

Craig wanted to make him part of the family. They were going to officially be a unit. Jack was going to be a father in more than just name.

“I promise that I’m going to love you and Isaac forever,” Jack said. He struggled to keep his tears from his voice. “There aren’t two other people on this planet I’d rather be devoted to.”

“And there isn’t another person I think would be a better co-parent.”

Craig claimed Jack’s lips in a kiss. Jack closed his eyes and kissed back, letting the connection between them strengthen.

He was going to marry his best friend. He was going to be a father. He’d found his family. Jack didn’t think he could be any happier.

“I’ve got to get back to Isaac,” Craig said when the kiss broke. “Are you okay to clean up and run out if necessary?”

“Of course,” Jack said. He was glowing. He held the silk pouch firmly in his hand, feeling the ring through it. “I think tonight we’re definitely going to need to make sure we have lube on hand.”

Craig waggled an eyebrow. Jack snickered.

“All right, all right.” Jack waved Craig away. “Go tend to our son. I think it’s about time we started to lock our bedroom door.”

  “Agreed. Weekend project?”

Jack felt himself light up from the inside. All of the little domestic chores they shared were dear to him. They reminded him that Craig was in it as much as he was.

“Weekend project,” Jack echoed to confirm. “And maybe after that, we can start looking at dates we might like to get married on.”

“Roman’s birthday,” Craig said with a laugh. “Just to really rub it in.”

“You’re supposed to be getting along,” Jack reminded him flatly. “Besides, I’d really like for Lane to be there. I don’t want to have to make him choose.”

“I know, I was teasing.” Craig stuck out his tongue. He walked backward out the door. “We’ll come back to this on the weekend. I love you, Jack. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”

  “I love you, too.”

Two years ago, Jack never would have believed he’d be engaged to his best friend, yet here he was. He watched as Craig left the room and returned to the bathroom to bathe Isaac. Jack’s affection grew.

He’d found a place and a purpose. The life he knew was richer now that he had Craig and Isaac in it. But it wasn’t where their path ended — it was just the beginning. Every day onward would be a new adventure. And with Jack and Isaac there beside him, Jack was ready for the ride of his life.

A Marriage Resolution by Avery Ford

"I know The One for me is out there.”

Ethan’s never been the type of man to handle loneliness well. Sure, he can fit the stereotype of someone big and tough, muscles straining the fabric of hi

"Commitment for me means heartache and scars.”

Owen knows that life doesn’t always have a happy ending. He’s been there and done that, and he’s not looking to open his heart to anyone else. His bed? Sure. He can wine and dine and screw with the best of them. But when Ethan gets under Owen’s skin, the baker isn’t sure what to make of it.

  "Does true love really exist?”

  Scars by Avery Ford

Caleb always knew that his work was dangerous. For years, he'd thrived on the adrenaline rush, the danger thrumming under his skin, the tangible efforts of his labor a secondary reward when the flames flickered away to nothing and he was able to save a building, or save a life. He'd thought that the Johnson City Fire Station 10 was his home - until he got caught in a building with no way out.

Henry wasn't always shy and meek. As a child he'd always been buoyant and vivacious; in university he was the life of the party. And then he met Pritchard, and before he knew it he was skipping classes, flunking out, and isolated from his friends and family on threat of Pritchard's fists. Finally finding the courage to leave him was the best thing that Henry's ever done for himself - and also the hardest.

Caleb and Henry are both trying to put their lives back together, both scarred in different and lingering ways. Henry's bruises might have healed - but Pritchard's fists had left their mark on his soul. And Caleb's body is still healing from the burns and broken bones he'd suffered in that burning house. Neither of them are looking for love. Neither of them want someone to look beyond the surface. A quick jolt of pleasure is all they need before going their separate ways again... right?

  Slander by Avery Ford

When he stumbles into the next county's annual Policeman's Ball, he doesn't expect for a man with kind eyes and gentle hands to help him to his feet and claim that they're together. He doesn't expect an immediate show of trust and willingness to get to the bottom of his situation.

And he sure as hell doesn't expect their one night of pretending to be in a relationship to lead to something more - something authentic.
