Once the medical bay was quiet, only one guard remained. To distract him, Renard knocked over his bedside table, creating a large noise. After listening for the guy’s footsteps, he hid behind the lavatory door, waiting for the guard to cstep in.

Once he did, Renard knocked him out cold and stripped him of his clothes. Immediately he changed gear with the guard and dropped him in bed.

“Sorry, Isaacs. Hated to do that to you, but I gotta go.” Renard pulled the sheet over his head, then left, closing the doors behind him. He stood in the same position as Isaacs, keeping his helmet on. Soon Isaacs was due to be relieved by another guard. Renard knew because he’d studied their schedules for the past few nights. That was key to escaping without being caught.

“Hey Isaacs. You can go on and get outta here so we can guard the General’s brat.” The new guy said.

Renard growled low, not happy about the guard’s comment. He just chuckled, then left before the other noticed anything was amiss.

Avoiding cameras and doorways, Renard rushed to the landing bay, trying to avoid as many people as possible.

“Hey Isaacs? Your ship is over here!” Someone yelled for him.

Renard continued running until he got on the ship Whimpsy had sent from Megiddo. When he jumped on, the door closed quickly and the ship lifted off the bay, speeding out of Damascus. Thankfully, he’d done it in record time, before anyone could catch on.

“Welcome Captain!” The man sitting in the captain’s chair said with a grin.

“Thanks.” Renard took off the helmet and eyed him. “Hey, you’re one of the men I… um…”

“Yeah. I heard you found your forever mate though.” Renard’s fellow gargoyle said. “Though I’m disappointed you aren’t available anymore, I congratulate you on that and being with child.”

“Thanks.” Renard said, returning the smile. “What was your name again? I thank you for getting me outta there.”

“Jared.” He held out his hand.

Renard shook it, then patted his shoulder. “Thanks again, Jared. I owe you a lot.”

“No, you don’t. I’m happy to help. We should arrive on Megiddo in a matter of hours. We’re picking up Whimpsy, since neither one of us is welcome on Gocara.”

“Gotcha.” Renard rubbed his middle, then stood up. He was feeling hot. He sensed pain around his abdomen, meaning he should probably go lie back down. “Hey, I’m going to the back to rest, okay?”

“No problem. Whimpsy has some clean clothes for you back there as well as some food. Rest well.”

“Thanks!” Renard saluted Jared and left the cockpit, feeling queasy by the second. Despite the discomfort, Renard refused to stay on Megiddo.

Surely, Whimpsy would probably try convincing him not to go, but Renard wouldn’t miss this reunion with Dominic for anything in the universe.

  Chapter Nineteen

  Dominic

Dominic had cleaned everything in record time, then gave the codes to his STAT as well as his cavern to Bratzo. He even gave up his craft, which would now be property of his main rival. Though the loss was great Dominic couldn’t care less.

Bratzo continued on, saying how Dominic was making a big mistake, but Dominic tuned him out in a hurry. While Bratzo talked, he stood on the Oncubus landing bay waiting on Whimpsy to arrive.

Despite losing his citizenship and status with the planet, Dominic couldn’t have been happier. He would be with the man that made him happy. The one being who didn’t care that his father was a traitor. The one who didn’t hold his past against him. Renard had said as much in that first deep conversation they had many moon lights ago, but Dominic never would’ve thought his beloved stone face was talking about himself.

The air over Gocara was chilly. Cold Season approaching meant constant downpours, before the temperatures dipped below freezing. The Oncubus landing bay wasn’t as busy as before. With the relations between Hunarth and Gocara now strained, residents weren’t able to relocate there. Many had found alternatives, but most apparently decided to stay on the home planet and hibernate.

“My boy. I admit, your resistance to everything is astonishing. Perhaps we did teach you to respond to things well.”

Dominic met his gaze. “You did. I’ll never forget what I learned, and I’ll carry it on for the rest of my existence.”

  “And where will you live?”

“My lover and I are both outcasts, so we won’t be staying on this side of the solar system.”

Bratzo laughed. “And just where are you going?”

Dominic narrowed his eyes, not bothering to answer. “With all due respect sir, I won’t reveal my future plans. I gave you my word I’d stay off Gocara.” He truly wished the captain would stop talking.

“I know, but I’m curious how two outcasts will survive without the lifelines of their people.” Bratzo folded his arms.

“We’re two strong, able-bodied men. We’ll figure it out.”

Dominic’s comment was interrupted by the ship hovering over the landing bay. A ladder was lowered from the bottom of the small spacecraft and Dominic held on tightly, allowing it to take him up.

At first, Whimpsy was going greet the Gocarians and take Dominic onto the ship, but he talked him out of it, thinking Bratzo or any of the Messoli would try something to thwart their efforts. Just because Bratzo let him go, didn’t mean he wasn’t planning something to prove Dominic wouldn’t be welcomed back.

  Dominic was correct.

For the minute the ladder was raised with him on it, a barrage of shots flew from out of nowhere. Whoever was in control shifted the craft into hyperdrive, leaving Gocara before it could be damaged.

When the door closed, and he lay on the floor, clutching his chest to slow his racing heart. If the ladder would’ve been any slower, he could’ve been killed.

  “Baby bear?”

Renard’s voice woke Dominic, but he stayed put. He didn’t have the strength to move. “Yeah. I’m here. I can barely feel my legs though.”

Renard walked in and dropped to his knees, grabbing Dominic by the shoulders. He squeezed him tight and planted several kisses on his head. “Oh God, are you all right? When I heard the shots, I almost turned on the lasers to fire back.”

“Yeah, just um… saw my life flash before my eyes there. And I’m glad you didn’t. To borrow your words, that would cause more problems we don’t need.” Dominic leaned into Renard, feeling the warmth from his gargoyle’s body. “Oh Goddess, I missed you. I’m so fucking happy to see you.”

“Me too, sweetheart.” Dominic moved back a little and placed his hand on Renard’s stomach. “Hey little one. I’m so excited to see you too.” He rubbed Renard’s middle, then leaned into him again, curling both arms around his neck. “We’re been apart for so long.”

“Too long. Won’t be again though. I’m not leaving your side no matter what.” Renard said, running his hand through his hair, tangling his nails in the curls.”

“Same here. As long as you want me around, I’m not going anywhere.” Dominic clamped Renard’s shirt, inhaling his scent. His mainly musk was now his drug. Dominic enjoyed his lover’s scent, even more so knowing the child would probably smell the same. Rhubarb Rhizomes would no longer be needed to feel that euphoric high.

“I want you around for good, lover.” Renard continued stroking his head. “Forever. You’re my forever mate.”

“Mate.” Dominic repeated, enjoying the feel of Renard’s body next to his. “I love the sound of that.”

“I do too. My father, the general won’t, but I don’t care.” Renard added.

Dominic moved back and grinned at him. “What did he say?”

“I’m sure he’s got plenty of choice words since I escaped from Damascus, but who cares?”

“How will we get away then? Are we going to Unas?”

“No. To Megiddo. The general never goes there. But even if he does show up, he can’t make me go back. I’m a grown man and I’ll be damned if I let him stop me fro
m being with the man I love!” Renard cupped his cheeks. “I won’t allow him to do anything to you either.”

“I’m not worried in the least. I can fight and claw anybody.” Dominic held onto his hand and kissed the back of his palm. “Any chance we can find a place to be alone when we get there.” Dominic sucked on Renard’s finger.

Renard’s eyes fluttered and he exhaled. “Ooh, um, plenty baby. I just gave Whimpsy a nice sum of money so we can stay in the Quarters for the next three months. After that, I’ll have to start working to earn some money.”

“I have some. I was able to get what credits I had left in my STAT.”

  Renard looked confused. “STAT?”

“Oh, that’s right. It’s the computer we…” Dominic stopped himself, then cleared his throat. “They use to program their caverns. It runs everything in the cavern and what a Gocarian would do to survive.”

“Wow, that sounds amazing. We’re always said that the Gocarians were intelligent and would like to have some of there technology, but they’re such assholes. That last act proved us right.”

“Yeah well, G-Force aren’t any better. They treated me horribly before they dropped me off on Gocara.” Dominic snarled.

Renard harrumphed. “I wish I could do something to them for hurting you, but I can’t.”

  “It’s okay. I’m a bear, remember?”

“No copulating on my ship please!” Whimpsy’s voice came through loud and clear through the speaker.

Both of them chuckled, only holding each other tightly and sharing a kiss.

Dominic lay on Renard, wishing they could reunite properly on this craft. But out of respect for Whimpsy rules, he’d save his affection for later.

  Renard

When they arrived on Megiddo, Renard’s worse fears had been realized. The general was on the landing bay with several G-Force officers aiming their weapons at all of them.

  Shit.

However, Renard refused to back down. He’d be damned if he allowed this man to keep him from being with the love of his life.

“Well, well, well. You thought you could give me the slip, hmm?” Renard’s father stepped forward, glaring at him and Dominic.

“Nope. I told you I wasn’t staying and I meant it.” Renard said confidently, taking Dominic’s hand, squeezing it tightly in his palm.

General Kirk shook his head, then turned his attention to Renard’s friend. “And you, Whimpsy. I thought we were allies?”

“We are, but Renard is my friend and always will be. I will not be in the middle of your domestic disputes either. Accept Renard’s commitment to his man and move on. Also, no damage to our landing bay, please. If there is, I’ll make sure my robot cops throw you off this planet!” Whimpsy patted Jared, then walked off the landing bay.

Kirk sighed aloud, then glanced back at Renard. “Obviously, I have no say here, but I can order you to leave this planet for Damascus.”

“Try and do it, General!” Renard mocked him.

“You’re defying me again, and for what?”

“To be with the man I love, dammit!” Renard dropped his hand.

“You can’t and won’t love a Gocarian!” Renard’s father screamed.

“He does too. I’m worthy of love just as anyone else is!” Dominic retorted.

“No one told you to talk. Guards, take him away!” He ordered.

Renard stepped in front of Dominic, guarding him. He closed his eyes and re-opened them, shielding them both with his stone arm. “Touch him and all of you will feel my wrath! I don’t give a fuck what the man says.”

All of them stopped immediately, appearing worried. They put down their weapons.

Renard’s father gasped, eyes widening. “Really? Soldiers, your general has spoken!”

Again, they stood motionless, not heeding Kirk’s instructions.

Renard smiled smug, but kept the shield up. “They listen to me because they give me the respect. No matter what you do to my position, I seem to have earned their loyalty.”

Renard knew that to be true. This battalion of soldiers were friends who all share the same views as he did. They wouldn’t hurt him, especially when they were deathly afraid of him.

Kirk walked forward, standing toe to toe with Renard. He eyed him up and down, then twisted his lips. “Why are you doing this? You’re my son.”

“Your son has grown up and is tired of your shit! Again, I could give a fuck about being a captain. ‘Sides, I’ve got more important things to do. I’m gonna be a daddy.”

Renard’s father cocked an eyebrow. “What?”

All the soldiers started talking amongst themselves.

“Daddy? With the Gocarian?” Renard’s father laughed.

“Yes, with me, the bear. In fact, your son is the carrier.” Dominic said while grasping his shoulder.

Renard’s father clutched his chest, mouth dropped open. “What? Renard you didn’t.”

“I did. I told you I mated with Dominic and he claimed me. While that occurred, he impregnated me with our first child. One of the few gargoyle/Gocarian children to be born.”

“I… why? Why do you wish for this? Gocarians care nothing about family, or loyalty.”

“This one does. I love Renard and this child. Always will.” Dominic wrapped his arms around Renard’s middle.

Renard’s father lowered his head, appearing defeated. “Ugh. What a mess! Fine. Be with your monster and have your baby, but you are no longer my son.”

“Good.” Renard said without hesitation. “I haven’t been anyone’s son since Wyatt died.”

“And as for all of you. We’ll be having a conversation once we get back to the mothership. Get on the craft!”

After picking up their weapons, the men gave Renard their regards before getting on to the ship.

Renard watched them all, knowing he’d miss being their captain, but this was the right decision. Bottom line, he loved Dominic and wouldn’t allow anyone to get in the way of that.

Renard and Dominic had both made the ultimate sacrifices, but neither of them felt regret. For the sake for their young family, it was well worth it.

Once the soldiers and General Kirk left Megiddo, Renard led his lover to the Quarters he’d leased for them. He’d asked for some special accommodations to make Dominic feel right at home. He hoped his baby bear would appreciate it.

“Ooh, wow. Babe you didn’t have to do this.” Dominic looked around the room, smiling.

“Look familiar?” Renard held up his hands, slapping the fake palm tree leaves hanging from the ceiling. “You won’t believe what I went through to make it look like this.”

“I can imagine.” Dominic strolled in further, still eyeing everything in shock. “Smells like Unas, too.”

“Yeah it does. Whimpsy said I owe him a lot for the special candles and trees. Then there’s the whirlpool over there that at least gives us water near the bed just like the one we had on the beach.”

Dominic snorted. “It’s perfect.” He clutched Renard’s shirt and pulled him in. “Everything is, but mostly you in front of me is the best part. I—” Dominic dropped his head, then met his gaze again. “When we were separated, I realized I didn’t need Unas to be happy with you, Renard. All I needed was you to tell me you love me. We can be on that heap we love so much, that ugly monstrosity on Abugendi, anywhere, really. As long as I’m with you, I don’t need anything fancy.”

Renard grinned, leaning in, crushing his mouth atop Dominic’s. He curled his arms around Dominic’s neck, holding him there while they enjoyed the embrace. “I feel the same.” He said in between pecks. “But I do like this setup. All that’s missing is the little servicemen, but we won’t need them tonight. And besides, I’m keeping my promise to go back to Unas.”

“Doesn’t matter my captain. My beloved Rocky. All I need is you in me and vie versa, which…” Dominic moved back and yanked his shirt over his head, tossing it aside. “It’s time you penetrated me. I want your cock inside me, babe.”

“Are you sure?” Renard asked as he removed his clothes. He hadn’t started showing too much yet, but his skin had begun discoloring in certain places. He’d have to explain it to Dominic later. “I mean, I’ve got no problem hopping on your dick again.”

“You can, but right now, I want that hard cock in my ass, pumping me full of cum. I’ve been dreaming about it, Rocky. For moon lights on end.” Dominic licked his lips and moved in close, pulling Renard back towards the large bed decorated with similar bed coverings to those on Unas.

Renard encapsulated Dominic’s lips within his. He allowed Dominic to pull Renard on top of him, causing them to topple together above the mattress. Their fall didn’t disturb their liplock. They continued sharing sloppy kisses with plenty of tongue while they positioned themselves for their first reunion night. It had been too long since their bodies were intertwined like this and neither man wanted to wait.

Renard grabbed the lube on squeezed a healthy amount on his dick, then tossed it aside. He massaged it into his skin while watching his lover. “Ready for me then?”

“I’m ready, Captain. Fuck me so hard, I’ll see stars.” Dominic said smiling while he planted small kisses on his face, around his cheeks.

“Oh yeah? Well that can be arranged too.” Renard grabbed a control and pressed a black button to open the roof above their bed.

Dominic grinned while he hugged Renard close to him. “Wow. Literal shining stars. Now, make me see them figuratively while you fuck me. I wanna be fucked into submission, babe.”

“With pleasure.” Renard inched in slowly, breaking the ring with very little effort. He gnashed his teeth and huffed, allowing himself to get lost in the euphoria of that initial thrust inside his lover. He closed his eyes tight and pressed his lips atop Dominic’s once again. He needed to make that connection while their lower bodies joined as one to consummate their union again.

“Renard. Oh Goddess, yes!” Dominic clawed his back, holding on tight while moving with him in sync. He clenched his buttocks t hold Renard in. “I missed you so much.”

“I missed you too.” Renard drove harder into Dominic, barely able to keep his orgasm at bay. Dominic’s tight flesh surrounding him made it hard to keep his self-control. He planted his hands on either side of Dominic’s head, pushing his body into Dominic’s. Each time his orgasm piqued, his legs weakened. Renard doubted he’d last much longer. “Ready to come with me?”
