FILTHY KISSES (A Back Down Devil MC Romance Novel) Page 12

by London Casey

  She nodded.

  My cock throbbed again.

  We weren’t finished yet.

  chapter twenty.

  (dakota)

The second time was better than the first time, if that was possible. The way Kye went after me, pursuing not only every inch of my body but also my pleasure was everything I had been missing for weeks. There was such a connection with Kye though. Beyond the physical feeling and attraction. We created a baby together. A baby that was sleeping in the next room over. A baby that had my face but his eyes and nose. A baby that knew exactly who Kye was.

His hands slid from my waist to my sides. He was so deep inside me. I dug my heels to the bed and lifted, gently fucking my body to his cock as he emptied himself into me. Each time I pulled back, a tingling pleasure rocketed through me. When I thrust forward, my insides shivered.

When we kissed, the heat collided at the core of my belly, leaving me with a mix of butterflies and orgasm. What a great combination.

Kye’s right hand slid over my breast, cupping me. His left hand kept going until he cradled the back of my head. We kissed again, this time turning it into a full blown make out session, right in my bed.

Slowly, Kye turned and eased away from me. We were on our sides, facing each other. The silence of the room with the ghostly echoes of my cries of pleasure and his grunts of giving me pleasure.

I wrapped my leg around his muscular leg. “I’ve been waiting for that…”

“I know, darling,” Kye whispered. “You keep saying that.”

“I mean it. That day the phone rang…”

“What were you thinking?” he asked. “Just running like that…”

“I had no choice, Kye. I always knew something could go wrong for you. But to have it actually happen. I was ready to pop. I had this guy in your club calling me. I panicked. But I think it worked out. What kind of life would Ellis have inside a clubhouse?”

Kye opened his mouth but then swallowed. “You can’t…”

“You’re telling me that when I called you that Ellis was sick there was nothing going on in that clubhouse?”

  “Dakota.”

  “Kye.”

“If Ellis was in that clubhouse it would be different. It would be very different. The club would never put you or my son in danger.”

“I just had to get away,” I said. “My instinct kicked in to protect my child. And I did.”

  “You got lucky with Debbie.”

“Yeah, I did. And look at this place. Look at what she’s helped with.”

“For how long, Dakota?” Kye asked. “You staying here until Ellis is eighteen?”

“I’m not thinking that far ahead,” I admitted.

“Maybe you should,” Kye said. “I’m here now. We need to figure out what’s happening next.”

  “Meaning what?”

“Meaning I have a house,” Kye said. “There’s a nursery there. A nursery that we made together but it never got to be used.”

I popped up. I grabbed the covers and pulled them higher up my chest. “I can’t just leave Debbie. Not after everything she’s done. She’s a huge help with Ellis. I can’t do things alone.”

“Alone? Who said you’d be alone?”

“And what are you going to do?” I asked. “You’re riding all night, fighting people, shooting, whatever. Always looking over your shoulder for the police. Then what? You stumble in right before sunrise and sleep. So where’s my help?”

Kye rolled from the bed and stood up.

Fuck, talk about a sight. Seeing him butt naked like that. His beautiful body, the perfect cuts of muscle leading to more muscle. All of it cascading down to the V of his stomach that pointed right to his cock and it hung there.

“Your help is right here,” Kye said.

He then walked around the bed and grabbed his clothes. He stepped into his jeans and zipped them up. Then he tossed his shirt and leather cut over his shoulder and walked out of the room.

I sat up in bed, amazed.

One little argument - if that’s what it was - and he just took off?

  “Like hell,” I whispered.

I threw the covers off my body and scrambled for my clothes.

I dressed and hurried down the hall, wanting to catch him before he could leave me. I waited to hear the rumbling call of his motorcycle but it wasn’t there.

At the bottom of the steps, I saw movement from the corner of my eye.

Kye was at the dining room table. His shirt and leather cut on. He peeled back the top of the pizza box and pointed to it.

“Guess we shouldn’t waste lunch, huh?”

  “What… I thought you were leaving…”

“I’m not leaving,” Kye said. “I don’t run from problems, Dakota. I face them.”

“You stormed out of the room.”

“I was pissed off. I still am. I want to know what I have to do to prove to you I’m not going anywhere.”

A thought popped into my mind but I swallowed it down.

“You said all of this to me before,” I said. “But then you ended up gone. Remember that?”

Kye grabbed the back of a chair and shook it. “That wasn’t my damn fault.”

I walked closer to him. I reached for his arm, taking a risk, knowing I needed to stand up to the outlaw.

“But it was your fault,” I said. “You’re running with outlaws. What do you think is going to happen?”

Kye shot me a look. “Someone set me up. How can I just ignore that? Someone is after me, darling. Don’t you get that?”

“I do,” I said. “And don’t you get why I want to be here with Debbie right now?”

  There was silence.

Kye reached for the pizza and pulled out a slice. He turned his back to me and walked to the window. He stood there and ate a slice. I did the same. I was hungry to begin with but after what Kye had done to me upstairs in bed I was beyond hungry now. Starving.

  And the pizza tasted great.

Kye turned as he swallowed his last bite. “Keep the rest for you and Debbie. I owe her big time for what she’s been doing. I’ll cover her mortgage or something for a little while.”

“She won’t take it,” I said.

  “Oh well.”

“You know, she’s supportive of you.”

  “Yeah?”

I nodded. “Her husband worked with a MC once. He didn’t patch in though. But he worked alongside or something. She gets it.”

“Maybe I should have knocked her up instead of you.”

My hand sailed through the air a second later. Oh, it felt so damn good to slap Kye across the face. The palm of my hand stung so bad that my eyes filled with tears. I pulled my hand back and muttered fuck under my breath.

Kye stretched his jaw and nodded. “Yeah, I deserved that one.”

  “Fuck you, Kye,” I said.

“Good. Get all that shit out. Attack me, Dakota. Tell me everything I did wrong.”

  I moved at him again.

This time Kye knew it was coming. His hands grabbed my arms and he spun me around. My back hit the wall separating the dining room from the kitchen. He had my wrists pinned to the wall. The lower halves of our bodies were touching.

  Fuck, I was angry.

  Fuck, I was turned on.

Kye’s eyes burned at me. “I did everything for you, Dakota. I made sure you were taken care of. I made sure all your doctor appointments were in the clear. You had a house, food, everything I could give you. I lied to my entire club for months for you. I let my brothers down. I’m lucky I’m still wearing my leather cut. So if you want me to come by everyday and fuck your brains out, I will. But I’m still going to take care of my son. There’s nothing that could stop me from that. I’m not demanding you leave this house today, Dakota. I’m telling you that there’s other options. I want to be there for Ellis.”

He let me go and I thought about slapping him again. Hell, I really considered it. Instead, I touched his face. I touched his cheek
right where I had slapped him.

“I don’t know what to think,” I said. “You want the truth? That is the truth. I woke up one day here and I was alone. I didn’t have you. I didn’t know a thing about you. Then the next day you’re out of prison and you’re here. Can I get a second to catch my breath?”

Kye smirked. “You’re not the first woman to ask me to let them catch their breath.”

I hated when he made a comment like that. Not only because it turned me on but because it filled me with jealousy to think of Kye with another woman.

Kye turned and started to walk.

“Where are you going?” I asked.

He glanced back at me. “Going to check on my son. Make sure he’s sleeping comfortably and that he doesn’t have a fever.”

A minute later we were upstairs and in Ellis’s room. The second Kye stepped into the room, the baby’s head popped up. He looked around and let out a whine. Kye rushed to the side of the crib.

“Hey little guy,” Kye said. “You okay?”

Ellis strained his neck to look where his father’s voice had come from.

Kye reached down and grabbed Ellis.

He picked up Ellis like he was nothing and cradled him in his arms.

I walked to Ellis and touched his forehead. “He’s a little warm.”

“He was just sleeping,” Kye said.

  “Let me see the thermometer.”

I left the room and got the thermometer from the bathroom. I crept back to the room, being as silent as I could, so I could hear Kye with Ellis. I hated looking at the large patch on his back, even if it was all he knew. There had to be more to life than all of that though. I didn’t want to live a life where Kye was always a day away from getting killed or getting arrested.

I stood in the doorway as Kye held our baby.

“Listen to me, little man,” Kye said. “I know you’re only a baby, but you need to start learning right now. I need you to fight. I need you to find that fire inside you and fight. You came from me, that means you don’t give in to anything. Not some infection. Or sickness. Or whatever. I’m counting on you. I need you to rest up. Be good for your mother. She’s going through some crazy stuff right now. I’ve been trying hard and I’ll keep trying hard. I won’t let you down, little man. I… I love you.”

I touched my chest and swallowed down the tears.

I then stepped into the room and announced my arrival. “Let me check him quick.”

The thermometer was a new fancy one that I just had to rub across Ellis’s head.

“That’s convenient,” Kye said. “Better than when I used to have a thermometer shoved up my ass.”

  I laughed. “Seriously?”

  Kye winked. “What’s it say?”

“Slight fever,” I said. “Nothing to worry about right now. I’ll just keep an eye on him. He really should sleep some more though.”

“So then I’ll put him to sleep,” Kye said.

  “I can…”

“No,” Kye said. “Give me some time, okay? Just me and my son.”

  I nodded. “Okay. Fine.”

I had a list of a thousand things Kye could do wrong right then but I kept them to myself. All that mattered was that he was there. He wanted to be there. He wanted to help.

I left the room and went downstairs.

I helped myself to another slice of pizza.

  And I waited for Kye.

My thought from before came back to me.

If he wanted to really be part of Ellis’s life… there was one thing I needed him to do.

  **

“He’s out cold again,” Kye said. He stood at the back of a chair. “I hope he sleeps good for you this time.”

“Just a nap,” I said. “No worries.”

“Look, Dakota, I can hang here all day and night. We can talk about anything you want.”

“You have club business,” I said. “That’s where this is headed.”

“I really want to know who did this to me.”

“And then what? You kill someone? When does that end?”

“I don’t know,” Kye said. “That’s not for you to worry about.”

That’s when my moment came. “Actually, it is.”

I stood up from the table. I would never be the same height as Kye. I could never have that bold, intimidating look on my face like he did. But I had his son. Not to sound like a controlling bitch, but it was the truth.

  “How so?” he asked.

“I don’t want this life for my son. For our son.”

  “Neither do I.”

“Good. Because if you want me to move into your house and bring our son there… you need to really sit down and think about things. Think about what you want. Think about me. Think about Ellis. Think about your club.”

“What the hell are you getting at here?” he asked me.

My mouth ran dry. I had to find the courage to do it. I had to spit the words out.

  “Leave the club,” I said.

  “What?”

“Give it up, Kye. That’s what I want. That’s what is fair for Ellis. So he doesn’t have to see his Daddy run off to get shot. Or get arrested. To have his Daddy gone all night. To have this life of death, of violence…” My bottom lip started to quiver. “It’s not fair, Kye.”

He just stood there and stared at me. “You want me to give up my leather cut in exchange for my family? This is all I know.”

“You know how to work on cars and bikes,” I said. “You could get a job anywhere, Kye. I’ll go get a job too. We can struggle to survive, but at least we’ll be together. You, me, and Ellis.”

Kye took a step back and touched his face. He turned and walked to the door. Again, I thought he was going to bolt but he didn’t. He looked back at me.

  “Come outside, darling.”

I followed him to the front porch.

He was down one step before he stopped. “This is what you want?”

“Yes,” I said. “You know what I went through. My father was killed by people like you.”

  “People like me,” Kye said.

“Not like that, Kye. I meant…”

“I hear you loud and clear,” Kye said. “So I have no choice in this. If I throw down my leather cut in front of my brothers, I’m dead to them. Anyone wants to hurt me, I have no protection. You’re okay with that?”

“You’re not part of it,” I said. “We can go to the police.”

Kye nodded. “Right. The police. They’ll help us.”

“Kye… you have to understand what I’m up against here.”

“I hear you. Trust me, Dakota. I hear you. Me walking away right now means nothing to my decision. Okay?”

  “Okay.”

Kye backtracked and was back on the porch. He stepped toward me and leaned down, kissing me. He tasted good. I wanted more.

But then Kye walked away for good.

I watched him as he walked to his motorcycle and climbed on it. He put his helmet on, looked at me one last time, then slid his sunglasses on.

He walked his motorcycle all the way down to the street before starting it. His way to trying not to wake up Ellis. Proving that he really cared about the baby.

The motorcycle rumbled as he cruised away and out of sight.

I touched my chest, asking myself what had I just done?

  Would Kye actually do it?

Would he give up his club for his family?

  chapter twenty-one.

  (kye)

I looked right in the prospect’s eyes before I threw a right punch. He left his face wide open and he needed to learn a goddamn lesson. He was lucky we were wearing boxing gloves because if my bare knuckle caught his face he would have been fucked.

Instead, his head snapped back and he flew back into the ropes.

The guys outside the ring all let out screams and whistled.

The prospect bounced off the ropes right back at me. He tried to take a swing but had nothing on it. I side stepped and
got him with a right hook to his gut. That dropped him to his knees as he let out a gasp for air.

That was the moment I was supposed to walk away and declare victory.

But I had too much on my mind. Shit was burning in me and it was deep. So when I looked to my right and saw the prospect look up at me, I lost my shit.

  Fucking weak pussy…

I drove my knee into his shoulder and he flew to the mat. Outside the ring everyone started shouting at me.

I dropped to one knee and punched the prospect in the mouth. I brought my left hand to my mouth and tore the boxing glove off. I did the same with the right. I was bare knuckled and ready for war.

  “What are you…”

I didn’t give the prospect a chance to finish his sentence. I grabbed his shirt and pulled him up. Then I unleashed on him, landing only a few punches before someone grabbed my arm.

I was dragged away by Cash and Max.

I broke out of their hold and stood up, turning, shoving Cash back as hard as I could. I spun and ran back toward the prospect. Tristan, Austin, and Hudson were trying to help the young wannabe biker to his feet. I dove forward and took the prospect down again, along with Hudson.

Tristan and Austin grabbed me and pulled me away.

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Austin screamed in my face.

I threw my head forward, cracking the bridge of his nose.

Tristan threw a wild punch and caught me in the jaw. I spun and hit the ropes. I felt a hard hit to my ribs. Then a second, then a third. I dropped to my knees and looked up as Tristan had another fist cocked back.

Max hooked an arm to Tristan’s and pulled him away.

It was fucking chaos in the middle of the ring.

A few seconds later Trev appeared and pulled out his gun. He pulled the trigger just once and the boom of his gun silenced everyone. I turned and sat on my ass, touching my ribs and then my face.

“Everyone clear out,” Trev yelled. “Get the prospect to a doctor to get patched up.”

  Everyone listened.

Trev climbed up and into the ring. He stood staring at me. “Have something you want to say?”

“Fucking prospects,” I said. I grabbed for the ropes and pulled myself up. “Fuck them all.”

I started to move to get out of the ring and Trev took out his gun again. “You walk away from me and I’m putting a bullet in your back.”
