Possessed by a Vampire Page 20

by Susan Griscom

She came up laughing. Her smile infectious. “You are going to be sorry, mister.” She splashed water at my face as she giggled. I had no choice but to reach out and grab her around the waist. Lifting her, I set her on the edge of the tub. Her beautiful brown eyes, laced with the golden glow of arousal, gazed into mine.

Spreading her legs, I dipped down and swiped my tongue up the length of her core. She shuddered now as her fingers tangled in my hair, urging me on, I had no problem with that as my tongue dipped, licked, and pressed against her clit. As I slipped two fingers inside her tight canal, I closed my eyes and groaned with pleasure at the wetness I found there. I couldn’t stand it any longer and slipped my tongue down to penetrate and taste her sweet nectar reserved just for me and said a silent thank you to Dorian. I held on to her thighs as she shook with pleasure. When I was sure she’d come a couple of times, I kissed my way back up to her neck, then gazed at her lovely face. She was so beautiful, and I was so lucky.

“I love you, too,” she said in a low voice as she stared back into my eyes.

“You heard me tell you when you were sleeping?”

  She nodded. “I did.”

I swiped back some wet strands of hair from her face. “I love you. I love you. I love you. I love you.”

She giggled and pressed her lips to mine.

“You’re safe now, Lily. Always safe with me.”

Her legs trembled as I held her ass cheeks and tugged her back into the warm water. I kissed her neck, her chin, her cheek, and then her lips. She returned every single emotion I gave. I stopped and gazed at her, wanting to see her face, her eyes, the glow I’d thought she’d gotten from Dorian only to find was from her brother. A glow so much like mine.

Our eyes, our commonality, Lily, Julian, and me. We’d all been possessed by Dorian at one time or another.

I sat on the edge of the pool and tugged Lily onto my lap as she sank down on top of me. Once again, I became lost in the sensation of her tight walls as we both reached that peak of ecstasy together again.

She breathlessly leaned against me, and we sat there for a short while until I remembered something she’d told me. There was something I needed to show her.

“Come on. Let’s get out of here.”

“Okay. Why the sudden rush?” Her eyes widened in alarm as if she thought I’d heard someone coming in.

“No rush. I just want to show you something.”

  “We don’t have any clothes.”

I grabbed her hand, tugged her across the room to a door, and opened it. I reached inside the closet and grabbed a couple of towels and handed one to her. “Here. You can dry off.”

“Thanks. She took the towel and held it against her face. “Mmmm . . . it smells like a garden of roses.” She smiled and rubbed the towel over her wet body. “Can we go back to the room first? I don’t want to parade around the house in a towel.”

“No need. Here.” I handed her a fluffy, white robe.

She laughed and shrugged into the robe. “You knew these were here all along?”

  I nodded. “Let’s go.”

I grabbed her around the waist and held her close to me as we disappeared and then materialized a few seconds later. I let go of her. Her brown eyes grew wide—the widest I’d ever seen them. The smile on her face was priceless.

“Preston. This is amazing. Wow.” She twirled around, looking everywhere, and ran her hand over the comfortable pale blue loveseat and then hurried over to the two plush, gold recliner chairs by the fireplace all while she took in the walls of the room. “There are so many books.” She looked up at the three-story-high wall of shelves packed with books that graced three of the walls in the room.

“Cian and Lane have been collecting books for a long time. Some of these are first editions. But I’m sure there are plenty of books that are more recent. Maybe even some romance novels.”

“Wow. And look how high the shelves go. Have I died and gone to heaven?”

“I hope not. Not yet, anyway. I need you with me for at least another thousand years.”

  “Only a thousand?”

I shrugged. “Give or take a few.”

“Preston, I could live in this room and be content for the rest of my life without ever having to leave.” She laughed. “And look. There’s a ladder that slides along the shelves. I wouldn’t even need to ask for help to get one of those books that are way up there.” She pointed to the top shelf that was about twenty feet above us.

“Do you think you could find something in here you might like to read? Perhaps one of those erotica novels you mentioned? Maybe you could read it to me?” I waggled my eyebrows at her.

“That might be kind of fun.”

“If I’d known that it would only take a few books to make you happy, I’d have shown you this room a long time ago.”

“You make me happy.” She came toward me and wrapped her arms around my waist as I tucked her in close to me. “The books? They’re a nice bonus.”

I grinned and squeezed her a little tighter. I was happy, truly happy for the first time in my very long life, and it was all because of Lily.

  Emotional Stuff

Possessed by a Vampire contains a lot of stuff that I’m sure a lot of my readers are not used to reading in my books. I have to say that this was a difficult book for me to write. Not because of the subject matter, but because it was extremely complicated. I had to do a lot of research throughout (which I usually do anyway, but more so in this book) because of the drug and human/vampire trafficking. I hope I got everything right.

I must give a huge thank you to my two editors. Michelle Olson and Tami Lund. You ladies were quick to pick up on anything amiss and really helped make this book shine. I think the world of both of you and want to send out huge hugs to you. I love you both to the moon.

Thank you to my dear friend and proof reader, Trallee Mendonca. You really know your stuff and I am so very grateful to call you my friend.

My beta readers, Author Tami Lund, Anna Dase, and Ellie McLove were awesome and extremely helpful and hopefully I got all your suggestions down and everything works.

A huge thank you to my street team, you all build me up and always make me feel so special. Thank you for all that you do. You are always in my heart.

I can’t write a book without thanking my husband for his love and support that he gives me. He cooks dinner when I’m so deep into a story that I can’t tear myself away and he does his own laundry—that, in itself is huge.

Thank you, Mom, for the love you show and the way you brag about me to all your friends. It means the world to me.

To my kids and grandkids, I love you!

Lastly, to you, the reader. Much love and thank you for all of your reviews and the support you’ve shown throughout the years of my writing career. I love you to the moon!!!
