“I forgive you, too.” He hugged her to his chest. “Dangsin-eul salanghabnida.”

  “What?”

“It means I love you in Korean.”

Her pulse buzzed in her ears, while warmth spread through her body like a heated blanket. “I love you—which means I love you in English,” she said.

He leaned closer until his lips captured hers. She clung tightly to him, her arms circling his neck. She never wanted to let him go again. But he pulled back.

“I don’t want anyone else, Daisy. I know we’ll have to work harder at our relationship with me on the road, but you’re worth it, and I want a chance to prove I can be a good boyfriend.”

“As long as you can accept that I’m kind of neurotic sometimes.”

“I like neurotic.” He kissed her nose. “Oh, and by the way, maybe I can give you some singing lessons and have you come along on our next tour.”

Daisy playfully punched him in the arm. “Now you’re just messing with me.”

“Yeah, I think maybe you should stick with the piano.”

“You didn’t like my rendition of ‘Let Me Make You Smile’? I thought it was pretty close to the original.”

“I didn’t like it, I loved it. It was perfect. You were perfect,” Trevin said.

Daisy glanced up to see the rest of S2J surrounding them.

“You know he’s just saying that so he can sneak you on the tour bus again, right?” Will grinned.

“You just had to ruin the moment, didn’t you?” Trevin rolled his eyes.

“What are friends for? Oh, and in case you forgot, I’m the one who dragged your ass to Michigan so you could kiss and make up.”

“Well, there is that,” Trevin said.

“And I should apologize for the whole bet thing,” Ryder said. “It was kind of a dick move. But in my defense, I was only trying to get Trevin to quit being a wuss and get a girlfriend, which worked, so you’re welcome. Also, Trevin, since Daisy fell for you, it means you technically won the collaboration with Pierce. I never really wanted it anyway.”

“Is that his way of saying sorry?” Daisy glanced at Trevin.

“Yes, yes it is.” Trevin kissed her again. “Hmm… Do you want to give the audience a live version of our whole music video or just the kissing part?”

“Just the kissing part.” Daisy wasn’t sure what her future held, but it looked like she was about to become a Seconds to Juliet groupie again. She drew the line at tossing her panties onstage. But kissing—that was definitely allowed.

  Epilogue

Daisy added another S2J poster to her wall. Trevin’s face stared back at her, his wet T-shirt clinging to his chest. God, she’d never get over him. Not only was he hot, but he was her boyfriend, and they were in love. She missed him like crazy. She flopped back on her bed, holding her Seconds to Juliet pillow to her chest. She couldn’t believe it was already September, and she hadn’t seen Trevin in more than a month. Well, other than when they video chatted. It was hard being back home—she and her mom were still working on things. They’d started counseling two weeks ago, so she’d see if it helped fix their relationship.

But her dad had surprised her the most. He’d already come to get her twice since the summer tour ended. He wanted to see her as much as he could before the guys headed overseas. Normally he’d rent a hotel room, and they’d just hang out there. However, he did mention maybe buying a place close to where she planned on going to college next fall. So they could try and make up for lost time.

She glanced at her blue dress hanging on a hook from her closet door. Tonight was homecoming, but unfortunately, Trevin had to do a show somewhere. Lena of course, had conned her into going with her, since Daisy had missed every high school dance so far. And with it now being senior year, she figured she better make some kind of memories. She definitely didn’t want to look back and regret anything.

“Daisy,” her mom hollered from the living room.

  “Yeah?”

“There’s a delivery guy here with a package for you.”

She sighed and hopped out of bed. Maybe it was the new posters she’d ordered for her recycling campaign. The school had agreed to let her hang them up in the halls to promote a “greener school.”

“Coming.” She hurried down the hall and to the front door. When she stepped onto the porch, she gasped. There, standing on the top step, was Trevin, dressed in a black suit and holding a bouquet of white daisies. She screeched. “Trevin! Oh God, you’re here…”

She rushed into his arms and he embraced her. Daisy inhaled the familiar scent of his cologne. It’d been so long since he’d held her. Since she’d seen him. And he was here. Right now.

His fingers caught her chin and he tilted her head. “So will you be my date for homecoming tonight?”

Tears welled in her eyes. “But I thought you said you had a concert.”

“That’s because I wanted to surprise you. You know how I am with surprises—they’re kind of my thing.” His almond shaped eyes crinkled when he gave her one of his thousand watt smiles.

“Are you going to be okay, I mean, without a bodyguard?”

“Actually, I brought one with me.” He pointed at her dad, standing at the end of the driveway.

She waved to him. “Um—you do know this means you’ll have to behave yourself, right? I mean, my dad will be following us everywhere.”

Trevin chuckled. “Oh, so if I’d brought DeMarcus instead, I wouldn’t have to behave? Maybe I should give him a quick call then.” He set the flowers on the porch railing, then circled her waist with his hands, tugging her closer.

Daisy stood on her tiptoes, wrapping her arms around the back of his neck. “Did you bring your tour bus? We could always sneak on there for some private time.”

“Damn, I knew I forgot something.” His palm rubbed against the small of her back. “But just so you know, I don’t need to hide on a tour bus in order to kiss my girlfriend. In fact, I heard front porches are great places to—”

“Just shut up and kiss me already.” Daisy’s lips pressed against his. His mouth was warm and sweet and tasted like mint. Her fingers laced into his hair. Already her pulse soared. God, she’d missed this. Missed him.

“You two know I’m standing here, right?” her dad said.

Trevin let out a low groan. “Hmm… We might need to call DeMarcus. I’m being serious this time.” He shifted a couple inches away from her and stroked her face. “So, you want to get ready for the dance?”

“Are you sure you want to go? You know, we could just hang out here and watch some movies.” Daisy caught his bottom lip between her teeth and gave it a gentle bite.

Trevin inhaled deeply. “If you do that again, we’re going to end up giving Beau a show he won’t want to see.”

Daisy grinned. “I thought you said you weren’t afraid of my dad.”

“In theory, I’m not, but in reality, I kind of want to keep my balls intact.”

“Fine, I’ll get ready to go—which reminds me, I need to call Lena and let her know there’s been a change in plans.”

“Actually, she already knows.” Trevin smiled. “I kind of messaged her to make sure you had a dress and stuff. And to confirm the date.”

“Wait, so she was in on this?”

“Yeah, we’ve been planning it since I stole your phone the last week you were on tour with us.”

“Hold on a second, you stole my phone?”

“Hey, I was getting payback! Remember that little prank you played on me?” He winked.

Daisy blushed. “Don’t remind me. But listen, I better go get dressed.”

While she got ready, Daisy had her dad and Trevin wait in the living room. When she emerged, she wore the same blue dress she’d planned on wearing last fall. It was so pretty, and she thought it deserved a second chance, kind of like her and Trevin.

When he saw her, his eyes widened, and Daisy felt her heart soar. She suddenly felt shy.

  “Wow, you look
beautiful.” He stood, coming to offer her his arm. “Ready?”

“As I’ll ever be.” After her parents took a million pictures, they headed outside to where a limo stood waiting for them.

“Hope you don’t mind, but I splurged for a limo. I wanted tonight to be perfect for you.” Trevin twined his fingers through hers.

Daisy squeezed his hand. “It already is.”

She didn’t know what the future held, but she knew one thing for sure—she wanted Trevin Jacobs to be a part of it. Because this cocky front man had won her heart. Or, better said, he’d stolen it when she wasn’t even looking.
