Claimed by the Pack: A Wolf-Shifter Menage Romance (Chronicles of the Hallowed Order Book 3) Page 13

  “Damien…”

She whimpered my name and I just about lost it. I bent forward to kiss her again, feeling the weight of her breasts beneath me as I drove deeper. Her eyes were dreamy, but still held a thousand questions. Silently I assured her I had all the answers, even though I pretty much didn’t.

We rocked back and forth like this for a long time, enjoying the feel of sliding into each other. While we did, Broderick shifted into a position above her. He held Serena’s head in his lap, stroking her face gently. It was the most natural thing in the world when she groaned, turned her head, and took him straight into her mouth.

  “MMMMmmmm…”

It was the last step. The final thing kept between us. We were joined now, the three of us, connected by way of her warm, writhing body. Every push I made drove her upward, where she took Broderick even deeper into her throat.

From there, we took her… in every possible way.

Serena offered no resistance as we flipped her around. She looked incredible on her hands and knees, her hair falling down over her face as Broderick took her from behind. He fucked her hard, squeezing her hips. Pulling her ass back to meet his every thrust, while her breasts swayed seductively beneath her.

She blew me expertly while he fucked her. Licked up and down the full length of me, catching my eyes whenever she could. We turned her around again, and again after that. The both of us using her… pleasing her. Making her body our own personal playground.

  “God… Oh God…”

She talked, too. A lot. Serena enjoyed telling us every last dirty thing she wanted us to do to her. She even mentioned a few she’d like to do to us, as well.

Best of all there was no hesitation. No awkwardness or reservation. Halfway through we found out she liked it rough, and Broderick began dominating her with one hand rolled tightly in her long hair. He fucked her with strong, deep strokes, eliciting savage grunts and feminine cries of pleasure mixed with pain. Eventually he finished inside her, filling her from behind as she lay flat on her belly, legs locked together, screaming and clawing my thighs while my cock bounced against her pretty face.

“Your turn…” he gasped, slipping out of her. And this time Serena turned herself around, presenting her pussy, swollen and dripping, to me.

When I chuckled she pushed me playfully onto my back and mounted me. There she rode me hard, churning and bucking through what might’ve been another orgasm. By that point it was impossible to tell. She was so far gone, so much of a sweaty, come-soaked mess that I could barely tell what was an actual climax and what was nothing more than her body just reacting naturally.

“We’re all very impressed,” she eventually smiled down at me. “But are you ever going to come?”

I took the challenge for what it was. Rolling her onto her back, I spread her thighs wide and pounded her for all I was worth. Broderick even held her legs back for me, pinning her feet somewhere up near her ears.

“Ohhh, come…” she gasped, pulling me into her. “Baby, come…”

I continued sawing away for as long as I could, savoring the feel of her, enjoying the high-pitched noises she was suddenly making. Then my body went rigid as I let go, flooding her womb with jet after jet of my warm, sticky seed.

God, it just felt so incredible.

It’s done, my mind registered as I wound down. She’s yours now. Yours and Broderick’s…

I let out a long hot breath, realizing what that meant. Knowing in my heart how much I hoped it was true.

  My mate. Our mate.

… but only if she wants you.

  29

  SERENA

I slept between them, naked and content. Filled to overflowing by the both of them, and left with a warm wetness between my legs that felt oddly comforting.

They’d taken me, and I’d let them. Not only that, I’d taken them back. I’d loved every dripping second of it, a life’s experience I wouldn’t trade for the world.

And it was strangely easy, too. You’d think a girl’s first threesome might be something awkward, especially being the meat in a very beefy wolf sandwich. And yet it wasn’t… not in the slightest. We’d gelled together perfectly, the three of us, emotionally as well as physically. Shifting between positions effortlessly, as if this were something we did every weekend and were merely going through the motions.

Yes, and there’s a reason for that.

In the back of my mind I knew it had probably gone so smoothly because they’d done it before. That I was merely an extension of what they’d done with Karessa was an admission I just didn’t want to make. At the same time however, I knew it was somehow different with me. That there’d been levels of intimacy between us that hadn’t existed with their past lover, not even in the beginning.

  Maybe not ever.

I shifted slowly beneath the blankets, turning to spoon against Broderick now instead of Damien. His body was bigger, warmer. Damien’s seemed to fit better though, as I could get my arms all the way around him.

You don’t have to choose. You have them both.

Both men had their strengths, their own advantages. Being between them — no, shared by them — was like having the best of both worlds.

I brushed Damien’s hair away from my face, kissed his bare shoulder, then sighed. Honestly I couldn’t remember ever being so happy.

  And what happens next, Serena?

It was a great question. The headstrong part of me wanted to chalk it up to a very fun fantasy and move on. A once-in-a-lifetime experience that I could tuck away in the back of my mind and pull out whenever I got lonely.

No. It’s much more than that and you know it.

The other part of me — the one run by my heart instead of my head — told me it could never be that way. It was that reckless, hopelessly romantic side that wanted to explore the seemingly endless myriad of possibilities of remaining their mutual girlfriend.

It couldn’t possibly work. Not with them and me. I wasn’t a wolf now, was I? I couldn’t give them that part of me. The more primal, animalistic part that Karessa could.

And how did that work out?

It was a point well taken. As stupid as it sounded, I wanted to believe. I wanted to think that being a Lycanthrope — or rather, not being one — had no bearing on whether or not I could be with, or ‘mate’, the both of them.

Holy shit, now I was talking in their terms!

Pushing aside my threeway relationship drama, I tried focusing on the task at hand. We’d already gotten Damien’s totem back. What happened if we recovered Broderick’s? Would the two of them still help me find the Order’s lost library? Or would the entire thing get too dangerous after that?

In order to properly search the halls beneath that cathedral, I had to deal with the occupants there. And to do that, I’d have to deal with Karessa.

Broderick’s not going to like that.

  “Tough shit,” I sighed aloud.

Damien murmured something in his sleep. I couldn’t tell what.

If you’re going to talk in your sleep, I smirked to myself, that might be a deal-breaker.

I extended my arms and legs, stretching the last of the day from my body. Sleep was coming for me. There was no more fighting it off, and no more reason to try.

I opened my arms to embrace it, welcoming it the way I’d been welcomed into my lovers’ own little pack.

  BRODERICK

  “Serena, get up!”

She stirred again, this time rolling over and gripping the pillow. Sleep was a thing for her, I could tell. It might be a problem.

  “Serena!”

I rolled her back toward me. Even in her sleep she was beautiful. All hair and lips and—

  “Damien’s gone!”

One eye fluttered open. “Wait… wha?”

“I just woke up,” I said, shaking her again. “And he’s not here. I think he was taken.”

She sat up. Rubbed at her eyes.

  “Taken? Really?”
She still didn’t sound convinced. She even yawned as she looked around. “What time is it anyway?”

  “Six-thirty.”

“Six-thirty?” she cried. She sounded offended at being up so early. “Maybe he’s downstairs?”

“No. He’s not in the hotel.”

She didn’t ask how I knew. The finality of my statement told her that I just did.

I watched as she stood up, naked except for a long T-shirt. It hung down near the tops of her thighs. Memories of last night flooded back to me… but I pushed them aside.

“Maybe we went out for coffee?” she yawned again.

“No,” I told her. “He’s gone as in he’s not in the city anymore. I can feel it.”

Now she finally looked concerned. Her eyes went wide. She began pinning her hair back. “Why would he leave?”

“He didn’t leave. Someone came for him.”

“But you said they couldn’t find us? Boone, Christophe, Lionel… that this would be the last place they looked?”

“They couldn’t find him,” I said grimly. “But she could.”

It was typical Damien. I could envision it now, him waking early, as he always did. Pacing the room. Getting antsy. Going out to see the sunrise, or to walk along the river, or something equally stupid.

Serena was already pulling on clothes. “Why the hell would he leave the hotel room?” she demanded. “Especially since he knows—”

“Because he’s Damien, that’s why!” It came off angry. That was fine, because I was angry. “He’s always doing dumb shit like this. He can’t sleep past five in the morning. ‘Surfer’s instinct’. Shit, he used to walk around looking for—”

“Come on,” Serena said from the doorway. “If he’s not in the city we know where to find him. Let’s go.”

She was a woman of action, I’d give her that. It was just another thing I loved about her.

  “Serena, I—”

  “Come on!”

  “Wait!” I cried. “Serena, listen…”

Her expression told me everything. She was impatient. Impulsive. A lot like Damien. She moved quickly, without thinking things through.

“I need to tell you about Karessa.”

She shifted her weight from one leg to the other. Maybe the impulsiveness had been working out for her so far. Sometimes that happened. Other times, like now…

“She’s going to know we’re coming,” I said. “Because of the bond we shared, she’s going to sense me the moment we get near the ruins.”

Serena shrugged. “We’ll face her then,” she said. “I don’t know about you, but I’m through running and hiding and—”

“Serena stop!” I cried. “Slow down a minute. Just listen to me.”

She shook her head. “No, because I know what you’re going to say. That’s it’s too dangerous. That you’re going to handle this yourself, and I shouldn’t come. That you’re just trying to protect me. That it would be best if you faced her alone.”

I stared back at her in silence. Eventually she raised an eyebrow. “Am I right?”

  “Sort of. Yeah.”

“Well fuck all that, Broderick. We’re in this together.”

  “Serena, I—”

“If you think I’m leaving Damien in that place… or letting you go there alone? You’re out of your fucking mind.” She looked angry now. Even more angry than me. “To think I’d hang back and sit on my hands, especially after all that we’ve—”

  “Okay.”

She stopped. Blinked. Opened her mouth again to say something else.

“I said okay,” I repeated. “But on one condition.”

Serena put her hand on her hip.

  “We do it my way.”

  31

  DAMIEN

I woke to a familiar feel… and smell.

It wasn’t just the sheets, or the pillows, or the beautifully vaulted ceiling. It was the unmistakable smell… of her.

  Damn.

I bolted upright, and Karessa was there. She was standing on the other side of the chamber, wearing nothing but the sheerest red silken robe. She moved delicately, lighting burgundy candles from the end of a long flaming taper.

  “About time.”

Her voice was soft, sultry, seductive. Her ‘favor’ voice. The one she used whenever she wanted or needed something. It was the voice she also used to placate us whenever we’d get angry, or challenge her, or—

I winced hard as a white hot pain flared through my head. Everything ached. Everything was still foggy too. I reached up tentatively and found a huge lump, just behind my right temple.

  “How’d I get here?” I asked.

“By force,” Karessa said simply. She spoke as if it were nothing.

I glanced to the left and right. We were alone. All alone in the citadel’s main bedchamber. Or at least, it sure seemed that way.

“So I’m your prisoner? Is that it?”

She lit another candle without turning around. “Do you feel like one?”

“Yes,” I said, a little hesitantly. “Maybe.”

  “You’re not bound.”

She was right. My hands, my wrists, my legs… they would’ve all been so easy to tie to the 17th century, four-poster bed. I flushed with embarrassment as I thought about all the things we’d done here before. To her… with her…

Back then it was usually Broderick and I tying her down. Right now however, I was totally and completely free.

“Damien,” she breathed softly. “Oh my Damien…”

She sang my name like a song. Spoke it with a beautiful lyrical, quality.

“How did we let it get like this?”

She turned, and her robe had fallen open. Intentionally so, of course. I could see her skin beneath, all creamy and smooth and scented with oils. I could make out the sensual curve of her neck. Her alabaster breasts, set above the flat of her taut stomach.

And below that: the well-kept thatch of soft red hair. Forming a pretty little ‘V’ where her legs met…

A thought occurred to me suddenly, sending my heart into my throat. But when I reached up to check, it was there. My totem, still hanging securely and reassuringly around my neck.

“I didn’t take it,” she said, stepping closer. “Not this time.”

I was otherwise naked. Naked except for a thin pair of silken boxers. I couldn’t remember if I’d been wearing them in Paris, or if they’d come from somewhere else.

  “I could’ve though,” she told me. “I could’ve easily done anything I wanted…”

Warning lights flashed in my skull. Klaxon horns alerting me to danger, even as she shrugged the robe from her shoulders and let it fall to the floor.

  “What do you want Karessa?”

She hooked one finger into the corner of her mouth. “Want?”

I gulped hard. She looked pretty damned amazing. Even better than before we’d left.

Lack of sleep. Not eating. Not leaving the citadel…

No-so-foreign thoughts floated into my mind. They were feelings. Connections.

  Missing you…

  They were fact.

“What makes you think I want anything?” Karessa asked.

She put one knee on the bed.

“I have everything I want, really.”

  Climbed on with the other.

“Almost everything,” she said coyly. Reaching out, she laid one hand on my bare chest. Somehow, I let her.

  “Except you…”

Her eyes were emeralds. Her skin, like white fire. There was a heat to her that had always been undeniable, and in the past there’d been no reason to deny anything. But now that heat burned with such brightness and intensity I had to look away.

  Damien… just go.

She knelt face to face with me, daring me to give ground. Stubbornly I refused. Both outcomes were in her favor, though. I was playing into her hands.

I held fast and our lips brushed… ever so slightly. I inhaled deeply, and her scent was intoxicating.

>   DAMIEN!

She leaned in to kiss me, as she’d done a thousand times before. Only this time… this time I pulled back. This time, I actually refused her.

“No,” I shook my head. “You’ll never have me. Not anymore.”

Her look flashed from one of sensual seduction to utter hatred, all in the span of a single heartbeat. It was almost inhuman, the way she could do that. The way she could turn off emotions of love and adoration, and channel them instantly into hate or ruin.

“So that’s it then?” she snarled. “You’re both throwing in with that dark-haired slattern?”

I laughed at the word. I wasn’t a hundred percent sure what it meant, but I could hazard a guess.

“What we do is our business, Karessa. Not yours.”

She was furious now. Either at the refusal or the laughter. Probably both.

  “Now where is Broderick’s totem?”

She bounced from the bed, her beautiful ass not even jiggling the slightest bit from the impact. God… I could remember holding that ass in my hands as I entered her. How it felt. How it looked, riding slowly up and down the length of me, every time we—

“If Broderick wants his totem,” Karessa said, “he can come get it himself.”

I’d figured as much. Nothing could be that easy.

I looked up again, and she was waving at me dismissively. “Now go, Damien. Go, before my patience wears thin.”

I frowned at her. She looked back at me sadly.

“Go before I do something I might later regret.”

I stood and began gathering my clothes. Everything had been neatly pressed and laid out beside the bed, in the same place it always was.

By the time I reached the other side of the chamber, she was sitting on the bed, head down. Ringlets of soft red hair fell about either side of her pretty face, which rested in the palms of her hands.

  “Karessa…” I said from the doorway. “I—”

“It was never you, Damien,” she sneered, looking up one final time. Her eyes were blood red. A single tear ran down her cheek. “Sure,” she went on, “you were certainly fun.” Her expression hardened. “But it was always, always Broderick.”
