Like a proper Omega, I was his and he was mine.
I watched as Rhett drifted off to sleep himself, and my vision was just of our wonderful future.
Of the pack that we would build, of the memories we would share, of our pups having pups of their own as we started to go grey.
I knew it was what most people wanted. This, and something about white picket fences. I didn't care if it was typical, or cliché, or whatever else.
It's what I wanted. I never thought I would get it so blissfully, but damn, I got it. My dreams got to come true, and I should count myself eternally lucky for that.
I would defend it as hard as Rhett would. Nothing was going to break us, our bond was steel.
Family, love, lust, I was blessed with it all. I’d come full circle, with the love of my life cradled delicately in my arms as we drifted off to wonderful sleep together, dreaming of a bright future that held a world of pleasure and fun on the horizon.
Omega In Heat
Alphas of Alaska - Book 2
Chapter 1
Riley
I took a hefty sip of my Bud Light and glanced out the window, relishing in the way the alcohol ran through my veins and splashed into my gut, surging me in a blanket of warmth regardless of the heavy snow falling outside.
“Hey, did you hear the news, Riley?”
“Hmm?” I craned my neck to glance over my shoulder at my friend Adam.
“Rhett and Beau had their new baby. Handsome cub I’ve heard.”
“Right,” I said and huffed, glancing back out the window.
“Oh, come on, don’t tell me you are jealous?” My friend Thomas slapped me on the back.
I growled. “Jealous? Hardly. I’m happy for them,” I lied.
The imperative fact that I most certainly did not want to reveal to my friends was the fact that in reality, Rhett’s soul bonding with his new Omega mate ravaged me with jealousy and contempt.
As a member of the Crow pack, the Frost Alphas weren’t exactly mortal enemies to my family or anything, but I’d always felt a compelling competitive force when it came to the Frost’s, especially Rhett…the narcissistic and cocky asshole that he was.
“We’re just giving you hell because we love ya.” Thomas raised his beer in a gesture for me to raise mine in a toasting clink.
“Sure whatever,” I grumbled, but appeased him anyway with a roll of my eyes.
We were at a bar just outside of Anchorage, Alaska where we were born, raised and currently lived. Thomas and Adam were part of the Crow pack and might as well have been my brothers, because that’s how I viewed their loyalty.
“You’ll find your bonded soon,” Adam chimed in with his unwanted and unasked for two cents.
“As soon as you find yours?” I leered. If they could poke fun at me, I was more than happy to return the sarcastic favor.
“Touché.” Adam smirked and took a sip from his beer bottle.
“This place is lame,” I said with condescension as I sniffed around. “What the hell is the name of this dive again?”
“Down the Hatch,” Thomas winked, nodding.
I scoffed. “What a pathetic name for a bar harboring no cute Omegas.”
“You are welcome to go sit at home alone if you like,” Thomas teased.
I let out a snort. “I probably would be in better company.”
“Hey!” Adam tossed a communal chip from the basket on the table at me as it pelted my leather jacket. “We resent that remark.”
“I’m hardly talking about you guys,” I groaned with a fanatical gesture to advise them I was really referring to the patrons of the bar tonight.
“Okay, I’ll admit it…this place is kind of a dumb,” Thomas confessed.
“Thank you,” I patted his back with a grin.
“Yet here we are, and we might as well make the best of it,” he continued.
“Maybe get shit faced while we’re at it,” Adam roared with laughter and slapped the table.
I gave him an amused smirk. “I think some of us are already halfway there,” I said with a laugh, subtly referring to him.
I didn’t mind a buzz every now and then, but I wasn’t the type to get sloppy drunk. I hated the way it made me feel slower and sluggish. I was an Alpha, I wanted to keep my power in check at all times.
I took another hard swallow of my beer and stood up.
“Where the hell are you going?” Thomas eyed me with suspicious confrontation in his expression.
“Bathroom,” I stated and set my beer down on the counter. “I’ll be back.”
I walked away from my friends at the table and headed to the back of the bar. I did have to take a piss, yes, but I needed to stand up and stretch, to clear my head.
The news of Rhett finding his Omega and having their first cub really was grinding at me, gnawing at my nerves.
Why the hell was he able to find his soul bonding Omega so damn quickly? It just didn’t seem fair.
Not that I wanted to let on that I was jealous or anything. I didn’t want to appear like a bitter, sulking and resentful child.
It just didn’t make any sense. It had been no secret that Rhett had hated living in Anchorage. He’d always complained about the cold, detested the snow.
He’d been living in Tampa for years and then he comes back home for his Alpha Frost’s birthday and finds a mate in the blink of an eye, no strings attached?
Screw that.
If only I could be so lucky.
I shoved open the door to the bathroom and glanced around, thankful that I had the place to myself while I took a whiz, releasing the beer back out in the cycle of cleansing until every drop was expelled and I was empty once again.
I washed my hands and glanced at my reflection in the dirty, rust trimmed bathroom mirror.
It was hard to wrap my head around the fact that I was pushing late twenties and I still didn’t have an Omega yet to claim as my own.
I was handsome, whether that sounded biased or not…I knew it to be true. I’d had my fair share of Omega’s since leaving the Crow pack to branch out with the goal of creating my own family.
Sure, the sex had been great and all, but I just never really felt the…sparks. The chemistry wasn’t right to find my true bonded yet and up until now I’d been fine to wait for my prize.
Now, as the days ticked into weeks, then years, time narrowed in on me and made me feel claustrophobic.
I was eager to find my Omega, my true soul bonding love and make an entire litter of cubs.
Being an Alpha shifter in Anchorage had its perks, don’t get me wrong. I had one hundred percent confidence in my ability to walk up to any Omega I found in this bar and take them home with me tonight.
I just didn’t want to. It wasn’t worth it anymore for me to take a guy home and have meaningless sex when I never intended to call the poor sap ever again.
That’s when something different happened.
When I walked out of the bathroom and started trekking back to my friends at our table, I sniffed something glorious out of the crowd.
The smell…it was intensely arousing, so much so that I felt an instant swell as blood rushed to the hard shaft contained within my pants.
I had to find it, because I knew it wasn’t far. The scent was flaring in my nostrils, making me salivate with longing.
I followed the scent to the front of the bar, ignoring Thomas and Adam as they called out to me.
“Are you leaving?’ I heard Adam question me from behind.
I waved a dismissive hand behind me to reassure him, but I was now on the hunt. An Omega in heat was on the not too distant horizon, standing in this very room.
My heart pounded with desire before I even laid eyes on him, but when I finally saw him, the clouds parted, and the snow ceased.
A radiating glow fell upon the Omega target, and I knew I had to have him before we even said a word to each other.
I walked toward the entrance to the bar, staring at him as he shook the
snow from his sandy blond head and brushed it from his black jacket.
He was smiling, laughing and engaging another pack of Omega’s whom I guessed to be the friends he had walked in with.
I paid them no attention, I only had eyes for him. I beelined it over to the front, wanting first dibs before any other hungry Alpha reeled in their sights and swooped in before me.
The competition was fierce when it came to an Omega, but this one was in heat…the most satisfying part of the whole appearance.
This Omega was mine, he just didn’t know it yet.
An Omega in heat coming into a bar was a brave and bold move. I just couldn’t believe it, but I craved him and the fact that he was willing to walk into a bar filled with packs of horny Alphas only meant one thing in my opinion.
This Omega wanted to find an Alpha tonight. He wasn’t the only one out on the hunt and he was about to get ravaged if he knew what was good for him.
The fantasy of filling this Omega’s tight little asshole with my seed made my imagination run wild and heat flush my cheeks.
Panting and trying not to stare at him was an impossible challenge as I approached the Omega. They were just sitting down and ordering drinks from the bartender at a booth near the window in the front.
His arousing aroma attacked my nostrils with desire and tickled my senses. I felt like I was floating as I walked over to him, taking the empty seat next to him.
It took all my effort and self-control not to jump on him right then and there, in front of his friends.
My eyes glazed over with lust as I grinned at him, anticipating with eagerness his scope of a reaction.
“Hello.” He chuckled, glancing between me and his friends as if he were shocked by my assertive forwardness to plant a seat right next to him.
I could tell by the sparkle in his dark, chocolate colored eyes that he was genuinely attracted to me, that the feeling was mutual, and his ego was undoubtedly swelling with pride over the fact that he hadn’t even walked in the door five minutes ago and was already being checked out by an interested Alpha.
“Good evening,” I responded and placed my hand on his jeaned thigh. The heat of desire as my fingertips made contact with his body through his clothes was electrifying and instant.
I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to touch his naked body.
He was undeniably attractive and appeared tightly athletic too, a majestic bonus feature in an Omega.
His gaze traveled from my eyes down to the hand that I held in place on his leg. “I’m Kyle. Kyle Post.”
“Hi Kyle Post, I’m Riley. Riley Crow.” We grinned like love-struck puppies, holding a passion filled gaze with such intensity that I forgot that his friends were with him until one of them cleared their throat awkwardly.
Snapping out of my trance, I immediately removed my hand from his thigh and smiled at his pack.
“How rude of me not to introduce you to my friends.” Kyle glanced around, tossing out names of his crew that I not only paid no attention to, but instantly forgot the moment they escaped his lips.
The only thing I could focus on was the idea of knotting inside of his swollen, puckered, glistening asshole in heat.
It had been longer than I cared to admit since I’d had the chance to explode my seed into a friendly, gorgeous Omega like Kyle here.
“So, what brings you out to a shady bar like this on a Friday night?” Kyle was taking to my advances with smooth appeal that was driving me crazy.
“I’m actually here with friends too.” I gestured and pointed with a wave to Adam and Thomas who gave me a thumbs up and beaming smiles in return.
“You’ll have to forgive them, they are just really enthusiastic about me finding an Omega,” I laughed, “and, judging by your handsome looks, I’d say their smiles mean they approve of you.”
“Well isn’t that a relief to hear,” Kyle teased, quick to keep up the flirting game we have going here.
I took a deep breath and ran a hand through my short dark hair. I tried to keep my cool in front of Kyle and his friends, but I wanted to rip his clothes off, grab his hips and point his ass to the sky.
I didn’t know how much longer I could keep up the friendly ‘getting to know you’ bullshit banter.
“So, do you live around here?”
Kyle saved me with a question to change the subject off our blatant attraction for each other and to help me ease into this conversation more naturally.
“Yes,” I continued to stare into his dark eyes with a swooning grin. “Just outside of Anchorage. You?”
“I live across the street,” Kyle confessed proudly with subtle flare of a sexual front.
Jackpot.
If I needed to pounce on him quickly, at least we wouldn’t have to go far.
“Oh?” I leaned in with enthusiasm, drunk on his intoxicating scent.
“Yep, in a loft,” he nodded.
“Allow me to buy you a beer then, native.” I winked at him.
“You don’t have to do that.” He waved a dismissive hand.
“Please, I insist.” I pulled out my wallet and handed the money to the bartender before Kyle could protest.
“Thanks.” He blushed humbly.
“My pleasure,” I said, thinking of many other options of pleasure that could be in store for our future.
“I like your hair,” Kyle blurted out of nowhere after a lull in the conversation with his friends.
“My hair?” I ran a hand through it.
“Yes,” Kyle said with affection.
“You have nice hair too,” I confessed. “It’s rare to see a light hair colored Omega around this part of town,” I said with a laugh.
“What can I say, I’m unique,” Kyle said with charm.
“Are you unique in other ways too?” I pondered, narrowing my eyes in on him alluringly.
“Is that something you want to find out?” Kyle asked seductively.
My cock throbbed with desire in my pants. My erection budged, nearly painful by such clouded lust. Seed was already beginning to drip from the tip.
“You said you only live across the street?” I nodded in the direction to the bar exit.
“Yep.” Kyle nodded with a twinkle blazing in his eyes.
I didn’t want to come right out and ask myself over to his house without being invited first, but I was desperate to undress him and fuck his brains out.
I wanted Kyle to be forward and confident enough to extend the invitation on his own accord, regardless of the fact that he was an Omega. He seemed witty and well rounded, I knew he had it in him.
“I’m finished with my beer,” Kyle said with a sexy venom laced in his voice.
“Good. Me too.” I grinned.
“Do you want to come over and check out my loft?” I could tell he was holding his breath awaiting my answer.
Coming was part of my plan, indeed, as well as checking out more than his loft apartment. “I’d love that,” I said and rose from my chair.
“Well then, what are we waiting for?” Kyle was a tease and he knew it.
I followed him out the door after casting a wave back at my friends, gesturing goodbye after something far more delicious came along.
Chapter 2
Kyle
We held hands as we crossed the street, and our tight grip on each other further emphasized how desperately we wanted this…now.
The snow was falling harder, coming down in sheets, pelting my eyelids and I had to blink rapidly to flick them away. The wet flakes fell on my lips and I had to puff them away with warm breath that turned to fog in the frozen air.
When we crossed to the other side of the street, I glanced beside me at Riley. He was breathing hard, and I assumed this stemmed from desire pulsing through his veins and not for exertion from jogging across the street.
“We’re here,” I confessed, my voice sounding miles away and distant through the clouds of lust hovering over my own mind.
“Good.” Riley squeezed my
hand, coaxing me to unlock the door as fire and flame burst through his dark eyes, sparking me with peaking arousal.
We ran up the stairs together, two at a time. The heat, the hunger, the wild craving to have Riley inside of me swelled and expanded, intensifying with each leaping step.
“This is my place.” I was panting too, sweaty and feeling fuzzy.
Riley’s eyes blazed through mine as I unlocked the door, my heartbeat drumming violently in my ears.
I didn’t want to admit out loud to Riley…how exceedingly long it had been since I’d had a huge Alpha cock thrusting in and out of me, pumping with vigor and force.
The keys jiggled inside the lock and then clicked. I opened the door and we were inside.
Riley wasted no time, being the Alpha that he was. Before I knew what was happening, his arms were around my neck.
He drew me in and locked my hips into place, holding me tightly.
“You want this,” he growled with seduction.
I nodded and swallowed hard. “Yes,” I panted and licked my lips.
The yearning was desperate and consuming me. My asshole puckered and pulsed, throbbed with longing.
I couldn’t wait for Riley’s hard cock to rouse me, awaken me and fill me like I’ve wanted and craved for so many months now.
The chemistry was electric and hot.
Riley’s lips were on me before I knew what was happening, and I was engulfed with desire, gasping for air as he bit my bottom lip, nibbled on my ear.
“You’re a naughty little Omega,” he hissed into my neck, sending chill bumps of pleasure surging through me and prickling on my skin.
“Kiss me,” I whined, clinging to him while we ripped at each other’s clothing.
“I’m going to do more than that,” Riley grunted and threw me onto the bed.
There was no time to give him a tour of the loft. Neither one of us wanted to waste time on the mindless pleasantries, we’d already participated in enough of that back at the bar.
