“Angel arrives … as plot’s point progresses,” Lucifer said to the figure. “Soon we will move as the same mind in mutiny.”
The angel muttered under her breath, “I shall never meld precious thoughts of the past with dark devil’s desire for the future.”
Lucifer smiled across at her. “Salvation in the next eternity then?” he said. “May we find feathered friends and foes basking in her glory.”
The angel spoke of eternities past and those yet to come. “I begin to doubt the gluttonous glory of Eden’s precious garden,” she said to Lucifer.
“Ah,” said Lucifer, “our minds align in spite of angel’s delusions.”
“God’s own envy in Heaven?” the angel said. And then the deep gray, armored and angry mother of Rain and Mist when she had to be, and a pure soul of Heaven when she didn’t, stepped from the shadows. The dungeons brought out the “mother” in her.
The wife of the Great Dragon angel, Jump, had fallen further than her husband had plunged through the roof of their friend Faith’s own church. “I would see our precious seed crucified on a cross before I assisted you in this purpose,” said Salvation.
“As I have already spoken,” said Lucifer. “Shall we, then?”
Salvation walked across the tunnel, pulled one of her flight feathers from her wing … and then she sliced it through Life’s sun seal, burned into the iron plate on the gate of Lucifer’s cell.
