Bad Girls Don't Marry Marines (Rock Canyon Romance #3) Page 15

When she crawled onto his lap, he tried to hide his surprise as she took control. Her kiss was demanding and forward, and his cock stirred, stiffening painfully against his jeans as her hands slid up his sides and across his chest. When her fingers brushed the top button of his shirt, she whispered, “I didn’t think you’d be so timid.”

He pulled away from her and caught her smile. “I was trying to go slow.”

  “Who asked you to?”

Her words slammed into him, and this time he didn’t hold back. Cupping the back of her neck, he took her mouth as his other hand slid up to cover her breast. He felt her moan vibrate through his mouth and crushed her flesh gently in his palm, loving the way she squirmed against him. As he manipulated her flesh, drawing more little noises from her, he was driven by the need to please her, to finally fulfill the ongoing fantasy he’d been entertaining for ten years.

He felt her hands on his belt and his cock flexed, anticipating the touch of her soft hands, as his mouth left hers and traveled across her jawline. “God, I’ve thought about the way you’d taste a hundred times,” he whispered against her skin.

“Taste where?” Val asked as her fingers worked his zipper down.

“Well, I thought I’d start here,” he said, pressing his mouth against the skin below her ear and giving it a little flick, taking her shiver as a good sign.

He experienced a bolt of electricity as her nails skimmed the skin on his hips. He lifted her up and laid her back on the bed, taking in her slim limbs and small waist and the mound of flesh at the juncture of her thighs. Bending over, he untied his boots and kicked them off, the rest of his clothes following quickly as he watched her slide her hand across her stomach and dip her fingers between her legs. Her eyes closed and a wicked hum passed her lips.

He’d never wanted a woman so badly.

Not even bothering with the buttons, he pulled off his collared shirt, ignoring the sound of ripping fabric.

When his gaze met hers again, she was eyeing him hungrily. As he climbed up onto the bed, he moved her hand and cupped her, slipping his finger into her wet folds to play with the tight bud of her clit.

When Val arched against his hand and let out a loud cry, he wanted to draw out her pleasure. Leaning over, he nipped at her ear as he played with her, whispering, “Are you begging yet?”

VAL WAS SO absorbed with the shock waves shooting across her skin as Justin’s callused fingers worked her, it took her a minute to process his words. When his meaning came over her, she let out a breathless laugh and whispered back, “Just wait.”

There was definitely something to be said for a man who knew what to do with his hands. Rocking her hips as he thrust his hand, she moaned loudly when his thumb snaked out to tease her clit. Justin’s lips kissed their way down her neck until his mouth covered her breast, and the combination of his thrusting hand and his tongue flicking her nipple had her bowing off the bed, intensifying the throb between her legs. His teeth grazed her breast, just enough to make her jerk, and she realized her sister was right: nothing could replace a flesh-and-blood man’s touch.

  Especially Justin’s.

And though he’d started out touching her like she would bolt at any moment, tenderness was the last thing she wanted.

Once he’d understood, he had taken control, and though it made her crazy, at the same time it had her hormones hotter than a fire in July. Justin had never been afraid to take what he wanted, and as his touch grew more insistent, her muscles clenched and spasmed as she came. Still, his hand never stopped moving even as he released her breast and kissed her, whispering against her lips, “That’s right, baby, come for me.”

“Oh . . . my . . . Justin!” The last word was a scream as her body shook with pleasure.

  “You’re amazing.”

His whispered reverence made her smile. “I’m supposed to be saying that to you.” She opened her eyes in time to catch his grin.

  “You will.”

“So cocky,” she said, smiling. Rolling onto her side, Val skimmed her fingertips over his pecks and abs, trying to calm her breathing. It had been a long time since she’d had an orgasm like that, and she wanted him to feel the same way she did. Light, happy, and satisfied.

After she got a fair round of begging, though.

Val followed the trail of her fingers with her mouth, and Justin’s hand touched her short hair as she sucked on the flesh of his stomach. Her hand slipped down to wrap around his erection and she squeezed the hard shaft gently. The quick intake of his breath brought a smile to her lips as she bent over, licking at the tip with her tongue.

  “God, Val.”

Opening her mouth wide, she sucked him inside, sliding over him until she could go no farther. Drawing back up, she used her tongue to tease him, the taste of salt and Justin making her throb again. Just listening to his deep groans made her squeeze her thighs together, but the pulsing only intensified.

The hand in her hair tugged gently and she lifted her head, letting him bring her up against him. Val let out a low laugh as he lay on his back and brought her over him. Still a little buzzed, she straddled him. The look in Justin’s eyes as he gazed up at her, filled with admiration and wanting, made her bold and she rubbed against him.

She watched as he grabbed a condom from his wallet on the nightstand and opened it, slipping the clear latex over his cock. She lifted up and grabbed the base of him, positioning him until she felt the head of his erection slip inside, stretching her. As he filled her up, she gasped.

And then every coherent thought fled as Justin arched up again, making her shake. With his hands on her waist, Justin brought her all the way down on him. Her head flew back at the first zing and she rocked forward, her clit rubbing against him, and with every thrust, every movement, the pressure built between her legs. He grabbed her ass, taking over until all she could do was hang on for the ride as he brought her to climax again, pushing up into her in smooth, quick strokes as her muscles squeezed and tightened around him. She caught his shoulders as her body trembled and went limp.

Still inside her, Justin rolled them over until she was looking up at him. He sat back on his heels and placed a pillow under her hips. At his first angled thrust, she gripped the bedspread and held on, squealing and moaning. When she felt his motions slow and grow uneven, she opened her eyes to watch him come, his head thrown back, the muscles in his neck and shoulders tense. A deep shout rose up from him, and with one last pump, his cock jerked inside her.

Justin looked down at her, and Val felt a wave of tenderness as he smiled softly. After he pulled out and lay down next to her, he brought her up against him and kissed her forehead. “Are you okay?”

“Mmm hmmm.” She nuzzled her nose into his neck.

  “Did I hurt—”

“Justin, I’m short, not made of glass. I’m fine.”

His body shook with a tired laugh and his lips sought hers. “You are such a sass.”

“I think you like it,” she teased, running her hand along his side.

“Oh, I do. Short and sassy.”

She playfully hit him in the stomach and he pulled back. “Ouch.”

“Aw, poor baby. Should I kiss it and make it better?” She started nibbling her way down only for him to stop her.

“Let me get cleaned up and I’ll definitely take you up on that,” he said, kissing her once more before rolling out of the bed. The light from the bathroom had been left on, giving her a great view of his firm, sculpted ass as he disappeared inside. The water turned on a minute later, and she curled up on her side.

Blocking out any doubts, Val closed her eyes and concentrated on the languid feeling of her limbs. She’d forgotten what good sex was like, let alone amazing. And now that she was taking back her life, there was no reason not to indulge, right?

But once they were done with round two, should she get up and go back to her room? It had been so long since she’d slept with anyone besides Cole, and she’d never slept over with
any of those men. It was definitely less personal to get up after and go, but was that what he wanted?

Grimacing, she felt the first pulse of a headache forming and closed her eyes.

JUSTIN’S HEART HAD slowed to a steady beat by the time he came out of the bathroom and flipped off the light. He made it through the darkness and crawled onto the bed, his hand coming in contact with Val’s soft skin.

She turned toward him and he brought her into his body. His lips found the side of her neck, nuzzling the short strands of her hair aside as he nipped and nibbled. The sweet sound of a giggle escaped her lips and he smiled.

“That was a lot of fun.”

“Hmmm,” she murmured, her fingers trailing over his back. “Definitely worth the wait.”

“Yeah. I’ve wanted to get my hands on you ever since that strip race across the football field. I saw that cute little birthmark on your—”

Her palm smacked his back and he yelped, “Hey!”

“You said you wouldn’t look!” she hissed, her voice belying any anger.

“Oh, come on, why do you think I let you win? The view was better from my angle.”

She broke out into peals of laughter, admitting breathlessly, “I might have peeked once . . . or twice.”

“You’re only human,” he whispered as his head dipped, his lips brushing her collarbone.

“Are you trying to start something?” she teased, wiggling under his mouth.

He lifted his head in surprise. “I was. Why, are you tired?”

“Actually, just my head is, probably from the wine earlier. Do you have any Tylenol?”

Remembering her concussion, Justin cursed. “Shit, are you okay? I wasn’t too rough—”

Her hand found his mouth, covering it. “I’m okay. It was wonderful. I just need something for the headache I feel coming on.”

He kissed her palm and laughed as he sat up. Pushing off the bed, he flipped on the light again and rummaged through his bag until he found a plastic pill bottle.

He came back to the bed with a glass of tap water and two white pills, handing both off to her. “This is the first time I’ve gotten the headache excuse after sex.”

Val’s lips were puffy and pink from kissing as she smiled. “I have a hard time imagining a woman giving you any excuse.”

He took in her lithe beauty as she sat up. His eyes caught on the small, round breasts with pert coral nipples, and he licked his lips, remembering the way they had tightened in his mouth.

She swallowed the pills with a sip of water and set the glass on the nightstand before turning back to him, her expression wary.

“I guess I should head back to my room. Brush my teeth and—”

“What?” His response was more of a shout, but he was completely caught off guard. Did she think this was a one-time deal?

“Keep your voice down,” she hissed.

He was a fucking idiot. “So this was all to scratch some itch you had? Just a wham bam thank you ma’am and then head back home like nothing happened?”

“No! I just . . . It’s been a long time for me and I don’t know the protocol anymore.”

“Protocol? This isn’t a fucking business deal and I’m not a hired stud.”

Her dark eyes widened, taking up most of her small face, which was already flushed an awful red.

“I wasn’t insinuating anything like that! I just meant that I’ve never ‘slept over’ with anyone besides my ex-husband, and I wasn’t sure if this was a sleeping-over kind of thing or a get-my-clothes-and-get-out situation.”

Justin took a deep breath, running his hands through his short hair. He felt like a clingy bastard, throwing a hissy fit over a misunderstanding.

When he hesitated too long, Val stood up and started gathering her clothes. Quick as a flash, he caught her by the waist and pulled her into his lap.

“I don’t want to make this complicated,” he said, ignoring her sudden stiffness. “No games. No bullshit. No outside opinions. Just you and me, seeing how far this thing between us can go.”

She was quiet for a moment, clearly weighing his words. “Does that mean this is a casual thing or—”

“This is a spend-the-night kind of deal. This is a you-stay-at-my-place-I-stay-at-yours situation.”

Her body started to relax against him until her head lay against his chest, her brown eyes looking up at him with a small smile. “No other people?”

Leaning her back against his arm, he kissed her hard and deep, sweeping his tongue inside. Her ass shifted in his lap, making his cock rise to attention once more. When he finally broke away, his voice was ragged. “Just us.”

Her hand brushed his cheek. “I am so good with that.”

  Chapter Fifteen

  * * *

VAL WOKE UP moaning. The dim light of the room stung her half-opened eyes as she came up from the fog of a really good dream only to find that reality wasn’t that bad either.

Justin’s arm was resting on her waist, his hand between her legs, teasing her folds as his mouth left a blaze of kisses along her neck. Her nipples were painfully tight, and when she arched back against him, his cock poked her.

“Morning,” he mumbled, his voice vibrating against her skin and making her back muscles quiver.

  “Mornin—oh!”

He’d slipped his fingers to pinch her clit before bringing his hand up to gently crush her breast. He bit down on her earlobe and whispered, “I need to go get more condoms.”

Her eyes popped open. They’d spent the night together and she had no idea if he was clear for STDs.

  You could always ask him.

Stroking his arm, she asked, “When’s the last time you were tested?”

He stilled behind her and said, “Two months ago.”

  “Clean bill of health?”

His breath warmed her skin. “As a whistle.”

  Did she trust him? Yes.

The doctor’s words echoed in her brain. “The chances of you getting pregnant without fertility drugs are slim, less than five percent.”

But there was always a chance, and was she really willing to risk it with Justin?

There’s a one-percent chance of pregnancy with a condom. Not much of a difference.

Besides, was she really worried about this one time? No. She’d slept with Cole for three years with no contraception several times a week and nothing, not even a missed period. And if something did come of it . . .

He was a good man and he’d be a good father, if something did come of it. And if he didn’t want to be involved, he wouldn’t have to be. She could take care of them.

Still, the image of Justin cradling a tiny baby in his arms was so sexy . . .

It’s just one time. Nothing will happen.

“Then you don’t need to leave.” Reaching back, she gripped him in her hand.

He didn’t say anything else as he adjusted himself at her entrance before thrusting inside. She sighed as he used shallow strokes, pushing into her as he slid one arm under her body and massaged her breasts while his other hand found her clit once more. Turning her head, she kissed his chin, and he dropped his mouth to hers. Every nerve in her body was sparked by his touch as her orgasm built.

When at last the dam broke, she cried out, breaking the kiss as she rode the waves and held onto him. As he pumped his release inside her, she stroked the fine hairs of his arms, relishing his hot, ragged breathing against the crook of her neck and shoulder. He kissed his way across her skin, and she closed her eyes.

“I could get used to this,” she whispered, her brain going foggy as she yawned again.

  “Good.”

A soft smile settled on her lips as she fell back asleep, wrapped in the warmth of his embrace.

JUSTIN FELT VAL’S body grow limp against his and realized she’d fallen asleep. Sneaking his arm out from under her, he backed off the bed, grabbing some clothes. There was no way he could go back to sleep, not when his internal alarm clock had been going off at f
ive-thirty every morning since he was a kid. It was past that now, almost seven, but he wanted to let her sleep.

Grinning, he turned on the shower and decided he’d sneak out to get them breakfast. Maybe convince her to stay in bed all day.

After his shower, he dried off fast, humming the tune of Craig Morgan’s “This Ole Boy” in his head. Once he was dressed, he grabbed his wallet and headed for the door, opening it quietly.

Stepping outside, he started walking toward Main Street. Offhandedly glancing into the hotel lobby as he passed, he saw an older man inside, waving his arms like he was throwing a tantrum.

  Mr. Willis.

Justin froze and stared, having a hard time believing Val’s dad was here and, by the look of things, bullying the hell out of the reception desk clerk.

Backing up slowly, he headed to the room to warn Val. He wouldn’t put it past the rotten bastard to start banging on doors when the woman didn’t give up her room number.

Unlocking the hotel room, he rushed in and shook her naked shoulder. “Val, honey, wake up.”

“Hmmm, what’s the matter?” She looked up at him blearily, her dark eyes barely squinting.

“Your father’s in the lobby having a walleyed fit,” he said without preamble.

“My what?” she cried, pushing herself up into a sitting position.

  “I said—”

“Oh my God!” She jumped out of the bed and looked around the room before lunging for her jeans on the floor.

He had no idea what to say about it, mainly because he thought the whole situation was ridiculous. From what he knew about her father’s attempts to control her, their relationship was toxic as hell.

“Do you want me to go and—”

“No!” she yelled before her skin paled and she glanced toward the door, lowering her voice. “No, I’m going to head next door to change, and then I’ll handle him.”
