by Annabelle Fisher

  Good-bye, Destiny!

  HAIKU BY DESTINY

  Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk!

Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk!

  Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk! Honk!

  FOR MS. TOMASSINI—

  BURPING LIMERICK

Gray Westerly burps like a champ.

He burped so much he got a cramp.

  The doctor said, Stop!

  Or your stomach will pop

Then on Gray’s lips Doc put a clamp

  HAPPY HEAD LICE AWARENESS MONTH!

To keep the critters from our hair

Hats and combs we mustn’t share.

They’re hard to see, those lousy lice

The adults like a grain of rice.

So if your scalp you have been scratching

It might mean teeny lice are hatching.

Then to the nurse you must repair

To let her check your itchy hair.

And if they’re calling your head home

You’ll need a special kind of comb

And shampoo to destroy those lice.

That’s all of my lice advice!

  A LETTER

  Dear Chuckling Goose,

  I think I’ll like you

But I wonder if you’ll like me?

  Mom says I’m impulsive

  Gray calls me cranky

But I know there’s more I can be.

If the world I could shake

With a cake that I bake

  I’d feed everybody a share.

And when all ate their fill

They’d be full of good will

So that for Mother Earth they would care.
