Of course, there was always a third option—that Cady had just caught her in a good mood tonight.
She spotted Mick standing on the corner, about fifteen feet away. “Hey—I thought you were going to meet me at The Tea Basket,” Cady said, coming closer.
“I didn't want to just leave you here,” he said. A short gust of wind blew, tousling Mick's dark hair. He took her hand and they started to walk. “So? What did she say?” Mick asked.
Looking at him, Cady recalled Gigi's words—about adventure, passion, a true love that would last—and she smiled and said, “Nothing I didn't already know.”
