“Emmalin.” I looked at Grayson, as he placed his hand on my arm.
I swallowed back my tears. “Fine. Whatever you decide.”
He gently squeezed my hand. “I want us both to decide.”
I stood up, taking my plate to the trash and dump the uneaten food. “Well, it sounds to me like you’ve already made the decision. So, we both don’t need to do anything. I just live here.”
“Emmalin!”
I ignored him as I left the kitchen. Grabbing my keys off the side table, I went straight to the elevator. By the time he came out the kitchen, the door was just shutting. Good.

“A nanny? Hell, I was thankful when Hawkins’ mom stayed with us a few weeks after the twins were born. Now, we have a part-time nanny and a housekeeper that comes three times a week. You wouldn’t believe how much it’s helped me.”
I crossed my arms glaring at Gwen. Gwen is one of my best friends. We met when she started working at a café, I worked at, and I was training her to be my replacement. It didn’t take long to realize, we enjoyed each others company. About a year later, and a string of assholes, Gwen opened her eyes to Hawkins, head of Grayson’s security detail. I like to think I deserve all the credit for the two of them falling in love and getting married, and eventually becoming parents to identical twin girls. Poor Hawkins. He, also has two identical twin sisters, and nieces. He’ll always be outnumbered, and will never win. Ever. Gwen, actually thought about getting a male puppy, just so there was another pair of balls in the house.
“That’s because you have twins. You’re supposed to be on my side.” I started to realize how petulant I was sounding and sat in one of the twins’ bean bag chairs.
Gwen smiled as she handed me the bottle of wine. “I am on your side. Always on your side, but Grayson’s right, hun. He wants you to take better of yourself, and you can’t do that if you’re busy working or taking care of Emersyn.”
I sighed. “I don’t know why this has to be an issue. Thousands of women do it. Why should I be any different?” My phone buzzed with another call from Grayson. I stood up. “I should go. I just left Grayson and Emersyn and didn’t even tell him where I was going.”
Gwen walked me to the door. “Oh, I’m sure he knows.” Yeah, she was right about that. I gave her a hug. “Kiss those girls for me.”
I finally made my way back home. It wasn’t even noon yet, and I was already hating this day. Just like I’ve always hated it in the past. Yeah, maybe I was overreacting and should’ve heard him out. We also, wouldn’t have to depend on Magda as much, no matter what she said. I sighed as I leaned my head against the wall in the elevator. Dammit. He was right. Bastard, knew it too. Begrudgingly, I made my way inside. When I finally stepped foot into our condo, it was quiet. Too quiet. I went to Emersyn’s room, thinking maybe Grayson laid her down for a nap.
I peeked into her crib. It was empty.
“Meredith stole her.”
I jumped at the sound of Grayson’s voice behind me. “Why? She didn’t need to do that.”
Grayson casually strolled into the room. “Because I asked her to.”
I took a deep breath. “I’m sorry about earlier. If you want us to have a nanny, then that’s fine—”
“Is it?” Grayson cut me off. He crossed his arms as he studied me. “I brought it up, because it would be to help. I’m not home as much as I like, and that kills me. I’m missing out on Flick growing up. I don’t see you as often as I should.” He ran his hand thru his hair.
Ever since Grayson’s company took on more projects, he’s been even busier now than ever. He finally looked back at me. “I shouldn’t have to schedule when I want to fuck my wife. That’s not the kind of relationship I ever wanted to have.” He stared at the ground, lost in thought.
“Was having Emersyn so soon a mistake?” His head snapped up to mine at my words. “Maybe, we should’ve waited, or been more careful, or I could’ve gotten on birth control…” He reached me in two quick strides.
“Having Emersyn was not a mistake. I wouldn’t change having her for anything in the world. She’s a part of both of us. I guess it’s safe to admit that I wanted you pregnant sooner.”
My eyes widened at his admission. He shook his head. “Don’t look at me like that. It’s true. The moment I had you bare, I wanted you pregnant. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I took you to an abandoned warehouse, because I was furious at the events that happened that day, and the next thing I knew, I had you up against a brick wall, fucking you as if my life depended on it. In fact,” He lifted me up, and I wrapped my legs around him. “I think we need to work on getting you pregnant again.”
He carried me to our bedroom. “Grayson, you know…” I trail off.
“Yes, I know. But it doesn’t mean we can’t have fun trying.”

“Carlisle, would you mind forwarding those documents to United Saints? We just need a signature before we can authorize the transfer.”
“Yes ma’am, anything else?”
I looked up at Carlisle. He looked anxious. I glanced at the time, it was just past six in the evening. I sighed. “I’m sorry, Carlisle, those can wait until the morning, I didn’t mean to keep you here.”
He smiled. “It’s no problem, ma’am. I’ll forward these and head on out, if that’s alright.”
“Yes, perfect. Thank you.”
He nodded as he left the room. I went back to going over my unanswered emails. An incoming instant message from Grayson took my attention.
Grayson M: Why are you still working?
I sighed. I thought about ignoring his message, but he caught onto me at the very beginning and purposely disabled my feature to do that.
Emmalin M: I’m almost done, just a few more things to confirm.
Grayson M: You have ten minutes, otherwise I’m freezing your access.
I scowled. That bastard. He really takes being the boss seriously.
Emmalin M: FINE!
Grayson M: Don’t shout at me.
My eyes narrowed at his message.
Emmalin M: I’M NOT
Grayson M: 8 minutes, then I want you in my office.
This elicited another scowl.
Emmalin M: FOR WHAT
Grayson M: So I can redden your ass. Don’t keep me waiting.
I shivered. Finally. I would be completely lying if I said that didn’t turn me on. I went back to working, eager to finish all this off. I was sending my third email when I checked to see how much time I had left. My eyes widened in shock. A whole hour had gone by. I checked messenger and saw that Grayson’s icon indicated he was away. That didn’t mean anything, he could’ve gotten caught up with something.
I quickly packed my things and headed down the corridor to his office. His light was still on, so I let myself in. Only Grayson wasn’t sitting at his desk. Some woman was though. She glanced up at me and gave me a small smile.
“Hi, the office is closed. If you’re looking for Mr. Mandrake, I can take a message for you. He’s very busy, as I’m sure you know.” Her head tilted, as if she was talking down to a three-year-old. I straightened my spine as I walked forward.
“What’s your name?”
She raised her perfectly arched brow, and looked me up and down. “I’m Claudia.” She held out her hand which I ignored.
“Well, I’m Mrs. Mandrake.” I waved to the pictures on his desk. “I’m sure I don’t need to be told to leave a message to see my husband.”
Her eyes widened briefly before glancing at our wedding picture on his desk. “So you are.” I sure as fuck didn’t like the way she said that. Just when I was about to speak, Grayson came into the room.
I turned to him. “What happened to eight minutes?”
He snapped his finger. “I’m so sorry, Emmalin. I forgot. Claudia came in and wanted to go over a few reports, and I must’ve gotten sidetracked. and I must’ve gotten sidetracked. Then ther
She nodded as she collected her things. “Of course, Mr. Mandrake.” She paused before she left out the room. “Great to meet you, Emmalin. Have a great night.” Grayson gave her a brief nod.
Before she was fully out the door, I called her name. “Clarissa?” She paused giving me a smile I was sure was as fake as her tits. “Claudia,” she corrected me. I smirked. I didn’t care. “It’s Mrs. Mandrake.” Her eyes widened briefly before nodding.
“Of course. My apologies, Mrs. Mandrake.” With that, she turned and left.
I turned and faced Grayson, who had a look of amusement on his face as he turned his attention back on me. He reached out to grab me, but I stepped out of his way. He frowned at the fact that I denied his touch.
“You forgot?”
He ran his hand through his hair. “Yes, I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.” I watched him walk over to his desk and shut his computer down.” He looked up at me and smiled. “Tell me you’re not mad. You and I both know you wouldn’t have been done working anyway.”
I shook my head. He didn’t get it. “It’s not just the fact that you forgot. You forgot for a whole hour, while you were…” I paused and took a deep breath. That was the exact problem. In all the time Grayson and I have been together, he has never once forgotten about anything when it came to me. Or anything when it came to us. What was happening? What was this? Is this what working almost eighty hours a week did to a person? Maybe this was how it all started. Couples start to distance from each other, and the next thing you know, they spend two hours a week with each other. “Never mind, I’ll see you at home.” I headed for the door, but stopped when I heard the sound of the door being locked. I hated the fact that he was able to control the damn lock with a damn switch under his desk. And, he knew it too. I heard him coming up behind me, but I wasn’t going to turn around. His arms went around me, and I tensed. He placed his head on my shoulder.
“Do you think I don’t know what’s going on?” I didn’t answer. He apparently knew everything, why not let him see if he’s right. “You’re jealous. You practically marked your territory just now.” He slowly turned me around. “Don’t for any second doubt my love and dedication to you.” I gave him a brief nod started to turn, and he pulled me tighter against him. “I mean it. I love you. But, I’d be lying if your jealousy didn’t turn me the fuck on.” He made a point by pulling me closer so I could feel his hardness. “You feel that. That’s what you do to me, every time I see you. No one else. Just you.”
The heat radiating between us was unreal. I suddenly wanted this office to smell like sex. I wanted everyone to know that he was mine. My husband. My lips crashed against his, taking him by surprise, as my hands went through his hair, pulling him closer. He chuckled as he hitched my skirt up and picked me up so I could wrap my legs around him.
He didn’t break the kiss as he started walking us to his office apartment. I pulled back. “No,” I panted. “Here, right here.”
He smiled as if he knew what I was doing. It took one swipe to knock everything on his desk to the floor. I didn’t even want to think about if he might’ve broke something; right now it didn’t matter. He sat me on his desk, reaching under my skirt and dragged my panties down, and placed them in his pocket. “Are you ready for me?” He growled as he stuck his thumb in his mouth, before guiding it to my pussy to check my wetness.
He groaned. “You indeed are ready.” I hissed as his thumb circled my clit. “But, I want more from you.” I jumped as two fingers plowed in me. “I need you wetter, so now you need to come on my fingers.” His fingers were ruthless, and I had no shame, as I fucked myself on them. I cried out when he abruptly inserted two more fingers and kept up the circling with his thumb.
I bit my bottom lip as he twisted his hand, opening and closing his fingers inside me. The pain that was there before quickly mixed in with pleasure. With his other hand, he undid his belt buckle, pulling his cock out, and started stroking himself. “You don’t get me until you come, Emmalin.” I threw my head back as he thrust in deeper. I felt myself starting to unravel. He spread my legs further apart, and his gaze took hold of my pussy. “That’s it. There it is, baby.” He spoke in wonderment, as I started to convulse around him. “Give it all to me, don’t you ever hold back from me. I own your fucking pleasure!” He leaned forward and bit into my neck, as I came crashing down around his hand, so hard I felt dizzy and overpowered.
Before, I could take a breath, his cock plunged into me. “Fuck, baby!”
My hands tightened in his hair, pulling him closer to me. I needed him as deep as possible. He rolled his hips and I screamed out, as he hit the perfect spot. He let out a loud moan. “Fuck, baby, keep squeezing me. You feel too fucking good.”
I felt my core tightening and jumped when his thumb started circling my clit. “Do it. I need you to choke my cock, baby.” I tried to hold out just a little longer, but the moment his other hand traveled up to my throat and squeezed, I screamed as my orgasm took over me. Grayson thrusted a few more times, the pressure around my throat tightened and he let out a guttural sound as I felt him release deep inside me. He rested against me, trying to take deep breaths. He finally eased up, and his eyes suddenly looked worried, quickly removing his hand from my throat.
“Shit, Emmalin, I’m sorry.”
He started looking me over, and my hands went to his. “It’s okay, I’m fine.”
His eyes briefly hardened. “But, we’ve never done…that before.” He traced the line of my neck and sharply exhaled. “I don’t know what came over me. I just knew I had to have you.”
I kissed him lightly on the lips. “And I had to have you. We were just in a moment, but I’m okay. I promise.”
He didn’t look convinced as he slowly pulled out. Before I could move, he held me still and traced his fingers over my pussy, and I hissed as he sank two fingers inside of me. He slightly smiled as he kept his eyes on my pussy. “I like seeing my cum in you. Besides, I have Thor sperm.” He winked at me, and I rolled my eyes, jumping off his desk and smoothing my skirt down.
He watched me as I tried to straighten myself up. “What? I do. It’s a proven fact.” I shook my head laughing and buttoned up my blouse.
He smirked as he reached for his suit jacket. “You won’t be smirking when I get you pregnant again.” His arm wrapped around me as we walked toward the elevator. I couldn’t help but tense up at the thought of getting pregnant again. Not that I didn’t want to, I just didn’t want to disappoint him if it could never happen again.
“Hey.”
I finally looked up at him, as he leaned against the wall of the elevator. “It can.” He shrugged. “And if it doesn’t, it doesn’t. I’m still open for adoption.”
We finally reached the parking garage, and I headed for my car. Or where I thought my car was. I stopped at the spot I parked it in that’s now empty.
“I had it sent home already so we could ride back together.” I smiled. Because, of course he did.
We walked into our quiet condo, which meant Emersyn was probably already in bed. Magda, Grayson’s part-time housekeeper turned Emersyn’s part-time caretaker, as well as being caretakers for Grayson’s niece and nephew, came into the living room. When Grayson mentioned hiring a nanny, Magda became almost offended. To her, all these children are like her grandkids, so the thought of someone else caring for them other than her, was a great offense to her.
“She was a little cranky butt today and ended up falling asleep earlier than I expected. She might be coming down with something.”
Grayson’s head shot up. “Is she sick? Did she have a temperature?”
Magda shook her head, wiping her hands on a towel. “No, she felt fine, but I wouldn’t doubt she may be coming down with something. It’s fall, lots of allergies and colds start happening as the temperature drops.”
She gave each of us a hug as she started for the door. “I’ll see you two later, call if you need anything.”
Grayson walked her out as I went to go check on Emersyn. She was sound asleep. I was just shutting her door when Grayson came by. “How is she?”
“She’s good, just asleep. She didn’t have a fever or anything, but we should keep an eye on her.”
I stood to the side as Grayson went in and checked on her. He stood for a moment until he was satisfied before shutting her door softly. “She’s a Mandrake; she’ll be fine.”
I nodded as I looked to her door again.

“You’re not telling me anything I want to hear, Mr. Williams. That was not the agreement we signed for, and you know it.”
“I understand that, Mr. Mandrake, trust me I do, but there are no other ways around it. We’ve looked at every other possible outcome. If we want to complete the project, we’re going to have to compromise.” I balled my hands into fists. If there was anything I fucking hated, it was to compromise. I looked at the picture of Emmalin and Flick, the current picture on my screensaver, then it switched to Emmalin and I on our wedding day. It was our first dance and she was peering up at me with her bright green eyes. I was gazing down at her with so much love and adoration. I remember thinking I didn’t want the day to end.
It was the day that changed my life. It was the day she was fully mine.
I sighed as I ran my hand through my hair. If I complete this, I could scale back. I could, for once, be home and have dinner with my family. I could perhaps even be there before Flick goes on her first date. Which would never fucking happen. I could properly fuck my wife, without having to schedule it.
