She nodded. “I am, Blake. Perhaps being together will help both of us.”
“Then I’m going to kiss you,” he whispered, breathing hard.
“I would like that.”
Blake lowered his head and closed his eyes as their mouths met. Bringing his hand up to the side of her face, he gently caressed her cheek, his finger trailing down the column of her throat to her collarbone. He urged her mouth open with his tongue, and she accepted it. They slowly explored each other’s mouths, the hum of desire shooting through Blake as she lightly rested her fingers on his bare chest.
He pulled away, his need to be inside Sophia barely contained.
“I liked that,” she whispered, as she opened her eyes.
Blake chuckled. “Me too.”
“That was a wonderful start,” she murmured.
“I agree.”
She leaned in and kissed him again, and Blake’s body hummed.
“Sophia,” he breathed against her mouth, “please, let’s take this slow.”
She nodded.
“Go back to your room,” he whispered, frustration rolling through him.
“Come with me,” she said, sounding so sure of herself. “We don’t have to do anything of a sexual nature. I-I just want to be with you, Blake.”
“What about Megan?” Blake asked, totally uncomfortable with the idea of Megan seeing them in the same bed.
“Megan is at a sleepover in Hudson and Beverly’s quarters, and then Beverly and Abby are taking them both to the zoo tomorrow.”
God, she was making this too easy for him, and he had to wonder if the women of the house had conspired to get Sophia and him together.
“Come with me, Blake. That old cot looks terribly uncomfortable.”
That didn’t even begin to describe it. He looked around the gym, thinking of how nice it would be to lay in his own bed, and the thought of Sophia next to him in that bed made him want to cry tears of gratitude.
“Okay,” he said, not seeing any reason not to. Willpower was the name of the game when it came to Sophia, and he’d let her take the lead.
Chapter 69
Blake woke the next morning curled around Sophia. He felt rested and it had the best sleep in his life. He rolled onto his back, still fully clothed. Sophia let out a groan and turned to face him, her head resting on his shoulder while her arm circled his waist.
“Good morning,” he murmured, kissing the top of her head.
“I don’t want to get up,” she mumbled as she scooted closer to him. He didn’t either.
They’d stayed up late into the night stealing kisses and talking quietly, but they didn’t have sex.
“Have you been doing any astral travels?” he asked, pushing a lock of hair behind her ear.
She nodded. “Not nearly as much as I used to. I don’t find it as easy as I did before.”
“Why is that?”
“I don’t know. Maybe because I don’t feel the need to escape anymore.”
“Have you visited me?”
She nodded. “You can’t see me, though.”
He smiled as he remembered her shimmering silver form. “You’re right. I don’t see you.”
The only explanation they came up with was that he was sober and his sixth sense, or whatever it had been, was no longer functioning. He was fine with it.
He held Sophia close, fully aware of the contact of their bodies. It felt right, and it felt so good. It would only be more perfect if clothing weren’t involved.
Sophia tipped her head up, and he kissed her. She placed her hand on the side of his face. Within moments, the kiss became heated, desire ripping through Blake.
Sophia sat up, pulled the nightgown over her head, and lay back down next to him. He looked her over, his need for her so great it overwhelmed him. Her small breasts were high and firm, her slim torso tapered off into a small waist, and her hips flared just slightly. There were no voluptuous curves like Brandy had possessed; Sophia’s body was strong and petite, and Blake had never seen anything more erotic in his life.
“What are you doing?” he whispered, reaching for her.
“I know you will be gentle with me,” she murmured.
He ran his finger down her cheek, her skin soft beneath his touch. His mind screamed for him to stop, but his body begged him to keep going, especially as her nipples hardened into perfect pink tips.
“Sophia,” he whispered, placing his hand behind her neck and pulling her close to him. He gently kissed her cheek, then tilted her head up. Capturing her mouth with his, he felt the hesitation as his lips moved over hers, and he pulled away.
Time.
They needed more time.
He didn’t think she was ready for a physical relationship as she had given him a brief glimpse into the details of her time with Micah.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
“I don’t think we should do this. Put your nightgown back on.”
“Blake, I don’t understand.”
He faced her. “Sophia, I sense your hesitation, and I don’t want to push you.”
“Do you not find me desirable?”
Blake yanked her close to him, all his frustration, irritation, and uncertainty about his life boiling to the surface. “I find you to be the most attractive woman I’ve ever seen, Sophia,” he hissed. “But I won’t have sex with you if you’re hesitant.”
“I-I feel something within me that I’ve never felt before when you touch me, Blake,” she whispered. “I don’t understand it, but I would like to explore it further. This feels like the right thing to do.”
Damn, she was making this difficult. Why didn’t she just put on the nightgown and walk out?
“You seem hesitant, Sophia,” he said.
She nodded. “I am. But it’s only because I’ve never had a male touch me the way you do, one who made me feel the things you make me feel, Blake. I would—”
Game over.
Blake slammed his mouth over hers and prodded her lips open with his tongue. She snaked her arms around his neck, pressing her body into his. Blake moaned as their tongues danced, her fingers running through his hair.
Her soft, earthy scent encompassed him, making him lightheaded. As he traced a finger slowly down her spine, she shivered. He cupped her buttocks, pulling her close. She gasped as he pressed his erection into her belly.
“That’s all you, Sophia,” he whispered. “You do that to me. Just being near you makes me hard.”
Her eyes sparkled at his words, and she brought her hand to the side of his face. “You are attracted to me,” she whispered.
Blake chuckled. “I think I have been since the second I laid eyes on you when you came to visit me.”
“I’ve never had a male tell me that, Blake,” she murmured, a slight smile playing on her lips.
“I’ll tell you that every day, for the rest of your days, Sophia.” His words surprised him, but they felt so right. He also meant it.
He kissed her again, and hitched her leg up around his waist as he gently traced her private flesh.
Sophia gasped, her warm eyes shining as she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth.
“Are you sure you want to do this?” Blake asked. God knew he was.
“Yes,” she whispered.
He sat up, threw back the covers, and pulled off his sweats, his sex a rigid length.
Looking her over, he knew he wanted his mouth on every inch of her. He wanted to claim her as his own, and the thought surprised him. It was animalist at best, and something he’d never considered before. Perhaps this was the way of an SR44 male when he found his mate.
She reached out to him as he hovered above her. Her small arms made him feel safe, secure, and cherished for the first time in his life. It was scary and exhilarating all at once, but he reminded himself that sometimes the best things in life were both.
He found her private flesh again, her slick essence coating his fingers. She moaned as he gently probed and caressed her.
“I like that,” she murmured against his mouth.
“Do you like this?” he asked, bringing his lips to her breast. As he swirled his tongue around the pink tip, it hardened in his mouth, eliciting a groan from each of them.
“Yes, very much,” she giggled. “I’ve never had that done to me before.”
Blake kissed her deeply, his body raging with desire. “I’m going to do a lot of things to you that you’ve probably never experienced,” he grinned, his mind racing with salacious thoughts.
He gently thrust his hips forward and slid into her tight, warm core. Her scent, the feeling of her under him, her fingers tracing his back, and the pretty gasps and moans he provoked as he moved inside her caused a sensory overload within him. Behind his closed lids, waves of different-colored light shimmered, every inch of skin tingled, and his emotions from the past and present collided together, causing incoherent thoughts to race through his mind. It was as if his mind had shut down or just disappeared altogether.
“Blake,” Sophia groaned.
Her voice brought him back to reality as her core tightened around him. “What’s . . . what’s this feeling?” she whispered.
Reluctantly, Blake pulled out, and Sophia gasped. “No!” she said.
Blake chuckled. “That feeling is called an orgasm, Sophia.”
“What are you doing?” she asked as he kneeled between her legs, her sensuous smell engulfing him.
“I’m completing your orgasm,” he answered, dipping his tongue into her hot flesh. He slid two fingers inside her as he licked and suckled her. A moment later, her body bowed and a scream from her very soul tore from her throat.
He clamped his mouth on her pulsating flesh, staying with her until the last wave of pleasure left her limp.
Peppering her with kisses as he inched his way up her body, he came to rest on top of her again. She wrapped her arms around him as he once again slid into her core, her center hotter and tighter than before.
“Can that happen to me again?” she asked.
Blake laughed. “I’ll do my best to make sure that happens.”
Epilogue
Blake squeezed Sophia’s hand under the table. They sat in the dining room, sharing dinner with all the Saviors and their mates. As always, the laughter was plentiful and the conversation flowed loudly.
It had been a month since Sophia and he had first made love. Things were going well for them, and in time, he could see them both being ready for a mating ceremony. He was happy with Sophia, but he really felt he needed to work on himself a bit more before making a mating pledge to her.
“Are you okay?” Sophia whispered.
Blake shrugged. “I’m fine, sugar pants.”
Sophia rolled her eyes at his nickname for her. He didn’t know where it came from, but he liked the way it sounded.
“Noah and I have an announcement to make,” Abby said as she stood holding Neptune, her large black cat. He howled, squirmed away, and stalked out of the room, angry that his nap on her lap had been disturbed.
“Please don’t tell us you’re getting another cat,” Rayner said.
“Or a puppy,” Jovan chimed in.
“I want a puppy!” Killian yelled.
“Me too!” Megan said.
“Oh, great,” Hudson mumbled. “Nice one, Jovan.”
Abby laughed. “No, there won’t be any more cats or dogs, but there will be another baby in the house.”
Noah reached up and took her hand, smiling.
The table went quiet. The last time the baby conversation came up, Noah had said he would never under any circumstances bring a child into this world. Blake had given up on the idea that they would ever fully eradicate the Colonists, especially their evil offspring. They needed to continue the fight, but they also needed to live and love and grab the happiness that the day offered them. Apparently, something had changed Noah’s view because he looked pretty damn happy with the news.
“I’m going to be a gopada!” Hudson exclaimed.
Everyone cheered, the chatter loud as the women all wanted to know when Abby found out, and if they’d considered any names.
Blake listened as Abby told everyone she was three months along and she just wanted a healthy child.
Sitting back in his chair, he glanced over at Sophia, who chatted with the rest of the women. He’d lit the fires of hell himself and walked through them. As he looked around the table, he realized that he was right where he belonged. Everything felt right in his life. He squeezed Sophia’s hand.
Maybe in time they would talk about having children. He glanced at Megan, and she smiled at him and got off her chair. She came over and crawled in his lap, letting out a little sigh of contentment as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Yes, everything in his life was right, and it truly looked as though there would be a next generation of the Six Saviors.
