Vow of Devotion: 2nd Novel Addition (One Urge, One Plea, Keep Me Trilogy) Page 14

by Scarlet Wolfe

She does what I order and closes her eyes as if she’s savoring every drop. “That’s right, baby.” Fuck, this woman has figured me out. She knows what I love, and when I say I’m Sir, she does exactly what she’s told, submitting to me wholeheartedly.

Taking hold of her arms, I help stand her up. I lean over and take one of her sensuous tits into my mouth, sucking her nipple hard. Her head jerks back, and she moans with a trill of my name off her tongue.

  That tongue.

I move to her mouth and twirl mine methodically with hers, and she whimpers faintly this time. Damn, this is fucking hot. It’s been too long since I’ve been inside Alayna, and I’m about to explode without even touching her. I need to move this along.

Turning her to face the bed and away from me, I move her mess of curls over her right shoulder. Starting from her neck, I drag the crop down her spine until I reach the top of her shapely ass.

Without warning, I swat her left cheek. Her body straightens with surprise. “Will you be alright lying over the bed?”

“Yes, Sir.” I waste no time bending her over the mattress. Her pregnant belly rests against it. I hope she believed me when I told her how gorgeous she is pregnant. I desire her just as much.

I swat her right cheek like I did her left, and she barely flinches this time. She moans, and I know each of her sounds. This one is singing that it loves the mixture of pleasure and pain I’m delivering.

I believe she can take more. Bringing it back, I subsequently swat each side of her ass at the bottom of her cheeks. I proceed to kiss the top of them, moving my lips faintly from left to right. I feel the bumps rise beneath my mouth and I smile.

“Damn, you’re so sexy. I have to fuck you, and it’s going to be fast.” Grabbing scissors from the nightstand, I cut the zip tie loose. “I want you comfortable. You can move your arms.”

  “Thank you, Sir.”

Her forearms move to lay flat against the comforter where her chest and cheek are pressed. My hand captures a hunk of her lush curls and holds her still before I slide right into her tight, hot pussy.

“Fucking Christ, Alayna. You feel spectacular.” Her health scare with the baby dawns on me, so as hard as it will be, I try to take it slow. I rock against her ass in time with her moans. She shoves against me, so I go deeper.

Without warning, I lose my control and come inside her. I grip her hips to hold steady, my head spinning and legs shaking. It’s been too fucking long since I’ve felt this damn amazing, and I’m dizzy as shit.

“Goddamn, sweetheart, you feel insanely good.”

  Alayna

I mess with Cameron’s disheveled hair as he takes a seat at the table on Saturday at noon. “Sleepy head. I was about to wake you. You completely missed breakfast. Are you worn out from staying up late over spring break?”

“Yes, and I have a couple of days left of it, so I want to sleep in. I kept hearing strange noises last night and like a hitting sound. I was about to wake you to see if you heard it, too.”

I glance to Damon with a shocked expression. I guess our walls aren’t as sound proof as I believed. He’s battling a grin, so I turn and stride to the stove, so I don’t appear guilty.

“Uh, here, I made you a sandwich and chips.” I take the plate back to Cameron’s spot at the table.

  “Thanks,” he says.

“I’ve been thinking. How would you feel about moving upstate?” Damon asks. “I’m thinking New Rochelle or Yonkers.”

My eyes flick up at him. “I think that would be wonderful, but you would have a long commute.”

“I don’t mind. I seldom do the driving, so I can work on the way to the office if I need. We’ll want another bedroom for the baby. And of course, Rylan and Mia think they need a bedroom, too.”

I grin with excitement. “You’re seriously going to look for a new home for us?”

“No, Alayna. We’re going to look for a new home.”

Damon is sitting across from where I’m standing next to Cameron. I waddle my pregnant ass to his side of the table and wrap my arms around him. Squeezing hard, I plant a sloppy kiss on his cheek. “You’re always full of surprises, Mr. Lear. I love you to pieces.”

He pats my arm before turning his head to give me a passionate kiss.

“Oh, god, I’ve lost my appetite,” Cameron says before he’s shoving his chair away from the table. “I’ll be in my room.”

I giggle, feeling the heat spread up my surely pink face.

“We’re getting a fucking monstrous home, so there is no way that kid hears us having sex.”

“Shhh, or he’ll hear you now. I feel bad we couldn’t take him to LA for spring break.”

“Don’t worry, we will make it up to him.” Damon pulls me down into his lap. “Damon, I’m going to squish you!” He tilts me back farther in his arm and covers my lips with his finger.

“Don’t say something like that again. You’re my beautiful, glowing, pregnant wife. But, you’re not too pregnant for me to get to your waist and tickle it.”

Damon’s hands begin tickling my waist as he buries his face against my neck. “No, Damon, stop! I can’t take the tickling.”

“I’ve got you right where I want you, and I’m going to tickle you every time you make a comment about your size.”

“Damon, stop! I think the baby is kicking.”

In a heartbeat, he stops moving and looks down at my belly. I take his hand and place it under my pink shirt.

“Here, feel,” I say, holding my hand over his and pressing down a little.

“I feel it!” he practically yells with excitement.

“Finally, you get to feel it.”

We quiet and still again, savoring another kick. Damon’s eyes turn to meet mine. They’re watery, and I feel mine wanting to do the same. “That’s remarkable. I can’t believe our baby is right here, hitting my hand. We have to find out the sex.”

“Oh, I want to be surprised.”

“I don’t love surprises the way you do, but I’ll make an exception for you.” Leaning down, he kisses my lips softly. “We won’t find out the gender if that’s what you really want.”

“It is, but I think it’s a boy. I want another son. A baby Reed. Can we please name him that, Damon? Please.”

His watery eyes return, but this time big tears teeter at the rim of them. “Shit, Alayna, you surpass all my dreams. The way you try to nurture the once broken young man in me is endearing.”

My forehead leans against his. “I love every part of you. I want you to feel healed and whole.”

“I already do. You’ve done that for me, Alayna. You provided the stepping stones to make that possible. I love you so damn hard, and I’m going to give you a life most can only dream of.”

  Chapter Twenty

  Alayna

“Don’t open those eyes yet, or I’ll have another reason to tickle you,” Damon says as we walk down a long hallway of our new home. We received the keys today, and I’m overcome with emotion.

I’m in my seventh month of pregnancy. Felicia is having her baby any day. Our life is overwhelming but perfect in my eyes.

  “Damon, I’ve seen the house.”

“Yes, but you haven’t seen this.” Bringing me to a stop, I hear Damon open a door. He nudges me forward a couple of steps. “Open your eyes, sweetheart.”

I do, and I can’t find my words. My eyes take in each wall and space of the baby’s nursery. I would’ve had fun decorating it, but his thoughtfulness is worth so much more.

The room is finished in grey, white and yellow. The grey crib sits against the wall to the right. A mural of a tree is behind it, and our baby will have images of cheery monkeys dangling from it. There’s a cute owl perched on a branch, too.

Straight across from me is a white glider rocker sitting between the two windows, which are adorned with yellow valences and long, grey curtains.

Sporadically placed are items with a chevron pattern, and shelving with animal figurines, and empt
y picture frames cover the walls. I envision filling those frames with loving photographs. The room is adorable and fitting for either a boy or a girl.

“I absolutely love it.” I turn and give Damon a hug. He wraps me in his warm embrace. “I’m relieved. I was worried you’d be mad that I had it decorated, but I know you have so much going on with us moving and your book wrapping up.”

“Damon, it’s perfect and one less thing I have to worry about. I imagine I will receive a lot of items at our shower to add to it, too. Thank you.”

“I’ll do anything for you and our children.”

I slide my hands from around his neck downward. My palms plant firmly on his broad chest as I give him a kiss.

  “Anything, huh?”

  “Yes.”

“Then let me do that morning television show with Phillip. It’s here in NYC, and I can set the record straight about our baby.”

“I told you that I feel we’re sending a clearer message by you staying away from him. Then there are no chances photographs can be taken of the two of you.”

“Damon, you know that is impossible when releasing a book with someone as successful as Phillip Channing. I must do press with him.”

Sighing dramatically, he skirts his hands down my arms.

“Fine, but please keep it brief and to the point.”

“I will, and I can’t wait to add that I’m bursting with joy over having this baby with you.”

Damon kisses my lips. He’s definitely seeing reason much easier these days. Having Cameron around has helped with that immensely. We’ve had no choice but to learn what the words calm and cooperative mean.

I take a stroll through our empty home. The seven bedrooms will soon be filled with new furniture and some old. We’ll have a great room and dining room to make new family memories in.

Damon and I will have new places to experience our intimate moments. I know he’s especially looking forward to that. I will miss the penthouse. It holds the memories most dear to my heart, but I’m looking forward to the next chapter in our lives.

Feeling a mild cramp, I brush it off but decide I should take a break from packing. Damon strolls into my office as I wipe sweat from my forehead with the back of my arm.

“Hey, you’re not overdoing it are you? You know the movers are coming tomorrow to pack up everything.”

“Yes, but I don’t want them touching my office.” I glance around the room at all of the stacked boxes.

Damon pulls me into his arms. “My stubborn woman.” My cell begins ringing about the time he drags my bottom lip between his teeth. It’s not as easy for him to reach these days.

Stepping away from him, I pull my t-shirt down over my massive belly. Felicia.

“Hi, how are you?” I ask.

“In labor and on the way to the hospital. Can you come?”

“Oh, my gosh. Of course. I will be there soon.” Hanging up, I look to Damon with a grin. “Felicia’s in labor. I’m going to take a super quick shower before we leave for the hospital.”

He frowns. “Terrible timing. We’re moving this weekend. And you should be resting. You don’t need to sit at a hospital all weekend.”

I roll my eyes. “You’re wasting your breath on this one, and you know it. Felicia needs me, and I’m determined to be there for her.”

“Fine, fine, get your shower,” he says. “I’ll change while you’re in there.” He swats my ass, and I squeal as I exit my office.

  Damon

Alayna and I are taken back to see Felicia.

“I don’t understand why I can’t wait in the waiting room. Isn’t that the point of them?” I ask.

“Seth might need your support. We won’t be in there during the delivery, just before.”

Scratching my head, I stroll next to her down the hallway. The young lady in scrubs bats her eyes at me as she holds her hand out at Felicia’s door. “This is her room,” she says with a flirtatious smile. “Let me know if you need anything at all.”

“I’m sure he won’t, but thanks,” Alayna says tersely before she crosses the doorway. I love my jealous girl.

“Felicia, how are you?” Alayna asks with concern evident in her voice.

“I’m in fucking pain. This is miserable. You just wait.”

Alayna pales, so I approach her and squeeze her hand. Way to go, Felicia. Just scare the shit out of her before she’s even in the game.

“I’m in so much pain. Labor sucks.” Felicia takes a glimpse at her foam cup and then Seth. “I need more ice chips.”

“The nurse said no more, honey.”

Felicia shoots him a look that’s like a death beam. I glance to Alayna, who is still pale. Her hand is pinching her waist, and her shoulders are slumped.

“Are you OK? Maybe you should sit down,” I say, pointing to a chair.

“Oh, Alayna, I’m sorry if I scared you, but you might as well know the truth. I’d heard it but didn’t believe it could be this painful.”

“Felicia, I think that’s enough. I’m sure she’s seeing that you’re uncomfortable,” Seth interjects. I’m sure it’s so I don’t. I’m biting my tongue only because she’s having a baby, and I wouldn’t want to experience one second of that pain.

“Uncomfortable? She’s going–to–see–it–right–now,” Felicia says as she groans through her words and braces her belly.

“Shit, I don’t think I should be in here,” I say. Glancing to Alayna, I see she’s holding her side again, but this time, she’s hunched over. “What’s wrong?”

“I’m having pains. They remind me of the pains I had months ago. I think I should go to the restroom.”

Seth pats Felicia’s forehead with a cold cloth, and I’m getting nauseated just from watching her get through her contraction. At least, I’m guessing that’s what those dramatic moments were all about.

Alayna leaves me alone and goes into Felicia’s private restroom. I try to focus on the baby’s heartbeat I can hear coming from a monitor. It reminds me of the special day I got to hear my own baby’s heartbeat when I went to a doctor’s appointment with Alayna.

“Holy shit!” Alayna yells from the restroom.

I stride to the door in only a couple of steps.

  “Alayna, what’s wrong?”

“I think my water broke. Can you get a nurse?”

  “What?!” Felicia shouts.

“Yes, baby. I’ll get someone,” I yell through the door.

What the hell is happening today? This is not how it was supposed to go down!

  Alayna

“I’m so embarrassed.” I press my fingers to my forehead.

“Baby, don’t be. They’re checking you out as a precaution.”

“I know, but this is humiliating.”

  “They said it happens.”

  “I wet my pants, Damon.”

“Yeah, but since they were wet, it seems natural you would think your water broke.”

“Can it get more embarrassing? Now, I’m not able to be there for Felicia.”

  “She understands.”

My obstetrician, Dr. Marks, comes in and studies the printout coming off the monitor. She’s the same physician who saw me when I became sick at Felicia’s appointment, and she’s still wearing her sexy pumps with her lab coat.

“Mrs. Lear, you’re having false contractions. I heard about your incident. Have you been doing any heavy lifting by chance?”

I scrunch my nose and forehead in shame.

  “Yes.”

  “Hmm …” she says.

“We’re moving, and Alayna insisted on packing up her office the last two days.”

“Well, your feet are swollen some, too. No more working. It’s normal to begin having benign contractions and pressure on your bladder at this point in your pregnancy, but with your history early on, there is no need to take any chances. I want you resting as much as possible.”

“Yes, Doctor. Can I please wait in the waiting room, so I will know when m
y friend has her baby?”

“I guess that will be OK. Let’s get you checked out as a patient first. Keep those feet propped up while you’re waiting.”

“Yes, ma’am, and thank you for everything.”

She gives me a closed mouth smile and exits the room.

“See, everything that happened is normal, and you and the baby are OK. We’ll get out of here soon and check on Felicia.”

  “I’m ready.”

  ***

We’ve been in the waiting room for two hours. I’ve heard labor can last a long time, and this is turning into a long day. Felicia and Seth’s parents have made their way to the hospital, so we’ve been chatting to pass the time. Of course, I’ve left out the details of my embarrassing incident.

Damon has already brought me dinner, and I’ve snacked twice. His phone dings, so I lift my head that I’ve just rested on his shoulder.

  “What’s happening?” I ask.

“It’s Seth. All he texted was ‘she’s here.’”

I sit straight up, and Felicia and Seth’s parents begin talking loudly amongst each other in excitement.

“They were having a girl. Is that what he means? The baby is here?” I ask.

Damon is staring at his phone. “I guess.”

“Ugh, men are so vague. I want details.”

He squeezes my hand resting on my knee.

“I’m sure we will get them soon enough.”

Fifteen minutes pass, and Seth flies into the waiting room.

“She’s here. Felicity Ann is eight pounds and four ounces. She’s also nineteen inches long exactly.” Seth laughs. “She’s almost bald, but you can see a sweep of blonde on top of her cute, little head.”

Felicia and Seth’s mothers shed a few tears, and the men shake his hand and pat his shoulder. It’s a beautiful sight. It’s hard to believe we will soon be experiencing the same joyful moment.

After what feels like an eternity, we’re allowed to go in and see Felicia and Felicity. It should be fun keeping those names straight, but I get why they picked it.
