Numbers Game

“You’re gonna make me come,” I breathed.

“Come for me baby,” he said, increasing the pace of his thrusts.

I wrapped my hand around my cock and began jacking, hard, matching the pace of his thrusts and clenching my ass around his cock, the flared head slamming against my prostate with enough force to cause my eyes to roll into the back of my head. I moaned, threw my head back, bared my neck to his teeth, and gasped as my orgasm built along the shaft of my dick.

  “Hunter,” I said. “I’m gonna—”

  I couldn’t finish.

I came, spraying my abdomen and causing Hunter to gasp in shock.

“Shit,” he said, pulling out of me in one quick draw. “Shit! Shit!”

He tore the condom off, jacked two times, and came.

I opened my mouth to catch as much of the juices as I could as they hit my face and drenched my chin.

He swayed, unsteadily, on his feet, for several unsteady moments before falling to one knee and leaning against my body. “Shit,” he breathed. “Adam.”

“Yeah, Hunter?” I asked, running my hand through his hair.

  “Thank you.”

  “For what?”

“For letting me fuck that sweet ass again.”

“You’re welcome,” I laughed, easing myself forward until I could set my hand upon his shoulders. “Come on. We should shower.”

He chuckled as he helped me to my feet and dragged me to the bathroom.

“I’m sorry about what happened tonight,” Hunter said as we crawled out of the shower and made our way back into his bedroom. “I didn’t mean for the stuff about Felicity to come up.”

“What do you mean?” I frowned. “It’s not like you could’ve prevented it.”

“Felicity’s known to stalk the bigger tattoo events,” Hunter replied. “I should’ve known that she’d show up.”

“You can’t blame yourself for someone else’s actions,” I replied, sliding my hands around his hips and drawing him close. “Besides—it’s not as if I haven’t been having a good night.”

“Even if the ex from hell showed up?” Hunter frowned.

“Even if the ex from hell showed up,” I agreed, pressing a gentle kiss to his lips.

He chose to hold the kiss for several long moments before he crawled on top of and then settled into the bed.

“I should go,” I said as I considered the man spread out before me—not wanting to leave but knowing that it would probably be awkward otherwise.

“Why?” Hunter asked. “We can hang out, watch movies, fuck around some more.”

“After that?” I laughed, to which he responded with a simple chuckle.

“Hey. You can’t go for round two?”

“I could go for round two,” I said, crawling on top of the bed and then spreading out over Hunter’s lean and prone body. “There’d just be one catch.”

  “Oh?”

“I get to control the A/C.”

“You think it’s too hot in here?” he laughed.

“I think it’s too cold in here.”

“Get under a blanket then, ice queen.”

  “Don’t call me a queen!”

He gently slugged my shoulder before rolling atop me.

As he planted a kiss to my lips, I couldn’t help but think of all that had happened within the past few days.

Perhaps the numbers game was over.

Maybe, just maybe, I’d finally gotten lucky.

Give him your latest novel, Ariana says. It’ll be the best way to thank him, she says.

Yeah. If only it were that easy.

After all, Dylan is a firefighter who runs into burning buildings to save lives. It’s how I met him—and how, after a freak accident at my apartment complex, he saved my life.

What could he ever see in a guy like me, who’s little more than a writer who sits in front of his computer all day?

  I guess Ariana is right.

There’s only one way to find out if he’s interested.
