About the Authors
BILL KREUTZMANN cofounded the Grateful Dead in 1965 with his musical cohorts Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Ron “Pigpen” McKernan, and Phil Lesh. They performed more than 2,300 concerts over their thirty-year career, becoming one of the top-grossing live acts of all time, and they sold more than 35 million albums. Kreutzmann continues to play music in various bands, including his latest project, Billy and the Kids. He lives on an organic farm in Hawaii.
