My eyes snapped open on Simon’s face. His expression had morphed from guilt to pure joy, and my own heart swelled at the sight of his happiness.
“Congratulations,” Zee echoed. “I got rid of the birds for you too. Also get used to puking. You strike me as a long-term pregnant vomiter.”
“If you removed the whole break-in and gunshot thing,” I told them all, “This day really couldn’t get much better. I’m gonna sleep so good.”
“Until your kid arrives,” Jane said with a smirk and Zee’s mean snort affirmed that statement.
