  Delia held her breath, the impact of his words making her stomach clench nervously. She could be with child now.

  His mouth met hers, and he gave a soft, almost pained groan. He met her gaze with his own. “You are lovely. I took leave of my senses. But I find I can't regret my momentary lapse. My heart swells with the idea of you carrying my child."

  Afraid to hope, Delia stared up at him nervously.

  "I think you have bewitched me, love. Now that I've had you, I will not let you go."

  "What do you mean, sir?” Delia asked, her voice trembling.

  "Please, call me Nikolas. It would please me to hear my name spill from your lips after what we have just shared."

  Delia smiled and lifted herself to press her mouth against his ear. “Nikolas.” She sighed. “What is it that you ask of one so lowly such as me?"

  "Lowly? You? Oh no,” Nikolas assured her. “You are everything, sweetheart. I would make you my own. Claim you."

  Delia's eyes filled with tears of happiness. “My own,” she agreed cupping his face and boldly kissing him, pledging her love to her knight. Forever.
