“Look. Right there.” Stone, the VP of the Aces, points to a row of bikes lined up along the road. I grin as take it all in.
“Shouldn’t be any bikes. That’s our lot.” I chuckle as the words leave my mouth because I know that I get to kill someone. I know that whoever the fuck it is, is in the wrong and that I can get my hands dirty. How fucking sick does that make me? The idea of blood makes my dick hard. The idea of watching the last shred of life slip from the person at my hands gives me a high.
“You take lead,” Stone says.
I nod my head, pull my gun and head toward the little bar that sits behind the row of bikes. The bar isn’t well known around here. It sits on a corner lot away from all the other businesses. We don’t technically own the bar itself, but it’s common knowledge that we own the land. We let the owner, Pep, keep the bar there for personal reasons. He doesn’t typically let any other clubs take up shop in there. I can feel that nagging voice in the back of my head telling me something’s off with all this shit.
I head toward the bar, checking the area around me as I go. I don’t notice anything unusual so I keep moving. When I step up to the front doors, I motion for a few of the guys to move around back. They nod and take off. I raise my hand and count it down with my fingers. No reason to give the motherfuckers any kind of warning that we’re here. When I hit three, we move it, guns aimed and ready for a war.
“What the fuck!” one of the guys inside screams. Yeah, screams like a fucking little girl. Stone and I share a glance before laughing at the idiot.
“You seem to be at the wrong bar,” I tell the guy. He looks around at his friends before he steps up.
“No. This is the right place. Maybe it’s you who’s out of place.” Did he just stand there and grow a pair?
“Where’s Pep?” I ask. The guys glance at each other giving me the answer I needed. I grab the little fuck around the throat, squeezing tightly. I shove him against the wall before I growl in his face.
“You put your hands on somethin’ you shouldn’t have. What the fuck are you doin’ here?” His eyes widen the harder I squeeze.
“Came for the girl. Supposed to kill her.” What the hell is talking about? I squeeze tighter as Stone rounds up the other assholes.
“What girl?”
“The Tanner girl! They said you had her. They all want her dead.” He manages to squeeze the words out before I release him and take a step back. It’s like a punch to the stomach. The air is knocked from my lungs.
“Crashed?” I ask.
The man narrows his eyes and shakes his head. “No. Aces.”
A tingle works its way up my spine. Heat races through my veins. Stone is by my side in the matter of seconds when he heard what this idiot said. His fist collides with the guys face before he stumbles and falls.
“The fuck did you just say?” Stone grinds his teeth moving closer to the guy. Who the fuck are they anyway? They aren’t wearing cuts, and from the look of the idiots they aren’t even an MC.
“Who sent you?” I ask as Stone yanks him off the floor.
“I told you, man. Aces. We had a package with cash and pictures. Said to get the fuckin’ girl and kill her. More money would come after. We were told to come here and that she would be delivered.” I close my eyes and inhale a deep breath when Stone slaps a hand across my chest. I open my eyes and glare at him.
“Walk outside with me, brother.” His eyes are fierce. Somethings off. I motion to Draven to keep an eye on these fools as I follow Stone out the front door.
“What?”
“Before we came down, Prez was actin’ off. Now, I don’t know shit about comin’ after no woman. That part was never brought up in church, Smokey.” His eyes tell me that he’s telling the truth. I’ve always been able to read people pretty well and Stone is no different.
“You think your prez is fucked?” I ask him.
Stone doesn’t meet my gaze. He pulls out a cigarette and lights it up before looking back at me. “Few months back, he sent one of our guys into an ambush. There’s no other way to explain it.”
Fuck! That’s never something you want to hear. A traitor. A liar. We are a family. That’s how this brotherhood works. You don’t betray that family for any reason.
“No clue why?” I ask Stone. He shakes his head. “What the fuck would he want with Braylynn? She’s a nobody from a nobody MC,” I ask more to myself than anyone. My chest tightens. My head begins to spin. This is going to turn to shit. I can feel it. “Let’s handle these fucks. We don’t need them runnin’ back talkin’.”
Stone grins, pulling his gun from under his cut. We both storm back into the building and fire. Draven startles before he sees what’s happening. Then he joins in as do the other guys. They never saw it coming. Blood splatters, spraying the walls and tables. The last guy standing looks at his fallen men.
“You stepped in my world, little boy. That was a big mistake on your part.” I walk closer, placing the gun to his head. You can hear him piss himself, the sound trickling to the floor. I look down at what he did before bringing my eyes back to his, a smirk on my face.
“That only proves what I already knew. You ain’t shit. You see that man there?” I point my gun over at Stone. The punk nods.
“That’s a Bleeding Aces MC member. You fucked up, kid.” I pull the trigger and watch the boy fall to the ground, his blood splatter clouding my vision. I run my face down my sleeve to clear the blood before turning to Stone.
“That chat? Stays between us for now. We can’t do shit without proof.” Stone nods.
We all head back out toward the bikes but my head isn’t in the game right now. I want to know what the fuck Ninja wants with Braylynn. I want to know what kind of plan he has for her. But most of all, I want to know why the fuck he thinks it’s okay to mess with something that now belongs to me. There’s a code of conduct in our world. She may not be my old lady but she sure the fuck is still mine.
Mine to fuck.
Mine to break.
Mine to ruin.
Mine.
Chapter 18
The ride back wasn’t calming like it usually is. Hell, killing thirteen assholes didn’t even touch the urge that filters through my veins. I want more. I cut my bike off and climb off when Hawk steps out of the side door.
“Heard you got some kills.” He chuckles as walks toward me. He can see the look in my eyes. He knows shit isn’t right.
“Take a walk,” he yells to the others. They all walk away except Stone.
“What he’s about to say to you, I back it. One hundred percent,” Stone says slapping a hand on my shoulder before stepping away. I grab a smoke and light it up before looking around the area making sure we don’t have any ears listening in.
“What the hell’s goin’ on?” Hawk asks.
“Bunch of punks. They weren’t shit but they were after Braylynn. Said Aces sent them. Stone says Ninja’s been actin’ off lately. Sendin’ guys into ambushes and shit.” Hawk tugs at his hair, the frustration evident on his face.
“Stone gonna back that shit?” I nod my head when he looks to me.
“We play it straight. We can’t take this shit up without the proof.” I nod my head after everything he says. I know all that already.
“Goddamn it, Smokey!” he roars. I nod my head once more. I know that feeling. It’s not a good one. “What the hell does he want with her?” he asks me.
I shrug before I say, “I don’t know, brother, but he isn’t havin’ her.”
Hawk watches me intently. His eyes burning straight into me. “You catchin’ feelin’s for that girl?” His voice has calmed. It’s as though he can see right through me.
“I dunno what I’m catchin’. My heads a mess,” I admit to him. I don’t have feelings that I know of. I’ve never really felt a whole lot after my family was killed. The only feeling I’m overly familiar with is rage and anger. Those two I know.
“Shit. Ninja was walkin’ around the neighborhood. Might w
anna check on her.” A growl forms in my throat before it slowly sneaks its way out.
“You go in like that, motherfucker, and you won’t have a chance to prove shit!” Hawk gets in my face. I nod my head, taking a deep breath. I know that. I know what I need to do but fuck! My blood is pumping with rage and suspicion. I need to find Bray.
I turn on my heel and head toward the house, praying that he isn’t there. Whatever the fuck he’s up to isn’t sitting right with me. The demon that lurks inside of me is wanting to come out and play. Shoving him back into the little box doesn’t always work, and I have a bad feeling that tonight I won’t be able to control him. I shove my front door open and that’s when I hear her. Crying. I swallow hard before walking down the hallway, shoving her door open. I let out a sigh of relief when I don’t see Ninja in the room. Thank fuck for that.
“What happened?”
Her head jerks up. Her eyes are red and puffy from crying but that black eye she’s sporting is new. So is the busted lip. My body coils tighter.
“Nothing,” she says softly.
Nothing?
“You get a black eye from sittin’ in a room?” I ask trying to keep my nerves under control but I can feel the hold slowly slipping away.
“I fell.”
I laugh at that one. She fell? That was a good one.
“Yeah, I bet you did.” I slide my cut down my arms tossing it to the side before my shirt follows next. I drop my jeans and look at her, her eyes following every movement.
“What are you doing?” she asks slightly breathless. I drop my boxers and eye her. I grab my dick in my hand, stroking it while she watches.
“You don’t wanna give me answers. I will fuck them out of you.” I give her a chance to say something, but when she doesn’t, I move toward her. I reach for her, pulling her off the bed roughly.
“There’s only so much shit a man can handle in one day, and I’ve reached my fuckin’ limit, flower.” Her breath catches in her throat. I rip the clothes off her body before turning her to face the bed. I lick and suck on her shoulder until I can’t stand it any longer. I bit into her flesh, the essence of her flowing into my mouth as her screams hit me in the chest. My tongue rakes over her soft skin and it’s then that I hear her moan. This isn’t supposed to feel good for her. This is supposed to break her, but in the back of my mind, I feel like it’s breaking me more.
Running my hands up her back, I shove her roughly onto the bed, her ass still in the air. Raising my hand, I bring my palm down onto her porcelain skin. The pink instantly shines and I do it again. Slap after slap I mark her ass until she’s panting and shoving her ass against me.
“You weren’t supposed to like this.” I slap her once more before gripping her hips in my hand. It’s then that I notice the circular scars that mark her lower back. I reach up and run my fingertips over them. Braylynn tenses and tries to pull away from me.
“Who did this to you?” I ask but I already know I’m not going to get an answer. I grip my dick in my hand and tease her entrance. She groans but she doesn’t answer. I thrust into her in one move. I bottom out inside of her as her soft cries hit my ears.
“Who hurt you, Braylynn?” I ask as I roll my hips. God, she feels so fucking good wrapped around me.
“No one.”
I yank her hips back, causing her to scream again at the force that she’s slamming against my dick.
“Who hurt you?” I roar louder. My hips take on their own movements. I pound into her not caring that it hurts her, not caring that my fingers are digging into her hips, no doubt leaving marks.
“WHO!” I scream once more. The force that I’m putting behind each thrust cause me pain. I know she’s taking it all and I don’t care.
“You!” she finally screams through her tears.
My balls tighten with her words before I come roughly and violently inside of her. Her pussy spasms and clenches around me, holding me in its depths. I lean over her body spent from what I’ve just done, and for some fucked up reason I run my hands up and down her sides. Is it soothing her? Is it soothing me? It’s all a big fucking blur.
Chapter 19
I left her in the room after I fucked her raw. What else was I supposed to do? She didn’t give me any answers but that didn’t surprise me. I wouldn’t have told me shit either. I sit on the couch with a beer in my hand when she walks down the hallway. She sees me and stops.
“I told you, you have free reign.”
She looks like she might bolt back to her room. She glances over her shoulder before walking into the kitchen. She moves around out there but I don’t look to see what she’s doing. I don’t give a shit what she’s doing. At least that’s what I’m telling myself. Someone knocks on the front door.
“It’s open!” I yell for whoever the fuck it is. The door creaks open and I watch Draven stroll in.
“You good?” he asks. I nod my head once.
“I don’t like what Stone was sayin’, brother. That shit is not how I wanted this to play out.” Draven walks past me with a grunt and into the kitchen. He comes back with a beer in hand and a strange look on his face. He doesn’t say shit until he drops onto the chair across from me.
“What’s with the black eye? I mean, the bites I know are you, but the eye?” He questions me looking a little pissed off. Yeah, I may be a piece of shit with a dark lust for pain, but I wouldn’t hit a woman, not in that sense.
“Wasn’t me. She was like that when I came back. Wouldn’t tell me shit about who did it.” Draven hisses out a breath before taking a long pull from his beer. Just as I’m about to speak, Bray walks in with three plates stacked on top of each other. She pulls the top one off offering it to Draven. Of course, he takes it.
“Thanks, darlin’,” he says.
She gives him a slight nod before offering me the next plate. I don’t take it. I sit there and stare at her wondering what the fuck is running through her head right now. She sets the plate on the table in front of me before turning and heading toward the hallway again.
“Get the fuck back here.” She jolts but does as she’s told. She turns and walks back into the living room. She stands next to the table before I say, “Sit.” Bray walks over and sits on the edge of the couch careful not to touch me. I chuckle a little at that. Draven dove into his sandwich as soon as she handed it to him. I just sit here and stare at her. She doesn’t move. She holds the plate sitting in her lap.
“Eat. You made it. You’re obviously hungry.”
Bray picks small pieces off the bread and pops it into her mouth. I watch her lips as she chews and fuck, I want them on me.
“So. This is awkward,” Draven says with a mouth full of food. I turn my attention to him now.
“How many did we kill tonight?” I ask Draven, trying to set Bray on edge.
“I think twelve or thirteen. Shit’s fucked up, Smokey. I don’t like that shit lurkin’ around here.”
I know what and who he means. I don’t like it either now that I have more information on him. “Me either. Thankfully, they gotta roll soon. Hawk said they’ll be back in a few weeks. They didn’t get shit out of Rage Ryders.”
Draven grunts before grabbing his beer. “I don’t get it, man. I mean, yeah, hit the enforcers ‘cause they are fuckin’ lethal, but the blow back on that? Not fuckin’ worth it,” he says.
I nod. It’s really not when you think about it. Going after enforcers is like plotting your own death. My phone rings on the table. I grab it and answer, “What’s up?”
“My dick,” Mayhem answers in typical Mayhem form.
“Not somethin’ I can help with there. You know, your brother can handle a dick,” I tell him. Mayhem laughs into the other end of the line.
“Fuckin’ Tic, man. Hey, so I got somethin’ to run by you. Hawk didn’t answer,” he says. Shit. I scoot forward in my seat.
“What is it?”
“Word is Aces have a crooked prez. He wants to patch over Crashed into the Aces. Usin’ Tip’
s daughter as the pawn. He doesn’t have enough backin’ him right now to make a move on her,” Mayhem informs me. My chest tightens as I glance over at Bray.
“Why patch them over? They ain’t shit,” I grumble.
“Yeah. They ain’t shit really aside from their newest member. Shit I heard is the motherfucker is ex-military. SEAL or some shit. Can’t say for sure, but Ninja wants that knowledge on his team. Tip was in trainin’ with him years back. Don’t know how the fuck they caught back up but they did.”
I close my eyes before tugging at my hair. “Shit.”
“Yeah, I hear you, Smokey. Thing is, you might wanna get the girl first. Have the upper hand. I know you had plans for her anyway.”
I laugh and lean back against the back of the couch focusing my attention on Braylynn. “Funny story, Mayhem. I already got the girl.” Bray looks over at me with a new fear in her eyes.
“Goddamn, Smokey! You’re good.” He laughs.
“I know. What do you got on this enforcer shit?” Mayhem sighs into the phone.
“Same shit. From what we’re learnin’, they wanna take us out. They wanna weakin’ the system so that they can move with the patch over. The way I look at it? Ninja thinks if he nails the enforcers he will have a better chance at pullin’ rank when the time comes.”
I blow out a breath. “You think he’ll come at the other clubs?” It’s a legit question.
“Honestly, yeah. He’s always wanted the top spot,” Mayhem adds.
“Fuck! Thanks for the heads up, brother.” I press the end button but my eyes stay on Braylynn.
