Agatha stepped onto the garden path, carrying Max; Paddy followed after, hand almost touching her shoulder. They were a family, vulnerable but also a world in themselves; not cohesive in any way apart from love: damaged, repaired, continuing.
With which at last I give them all three entirely to you – they will need your protection, now, and even more, your imagination; without it, they are strong but stuck, can exist but lack: let them live a while longer, forget them slowly.
