Loving Lily Page 6

She frowned at him. "I sure hope so. You could put an eye out with that thing. "

He laughed and she smiled up at him, reaching for his hands. He knelt down over her, kissing her as his erection nudged against her core. She gasped and reached a hand down, holding him still so she could rub herself against the crown.

"Jesus, Lily," he groaned, looking down.

She rubbed herself against him, loving the strength of his cock against her softness.

"That's fucking hot," he murmured, hands on her hips.

She bit her lip—so close!—but then he gently pulled away. "Not yet," he said, kissing her chin.

She growled at him, twining her legs around his waist.

He grinned, and in one swift move, flipped her over.

"What are you doing?" she gasped, looking over her shoulder.

He kissed her spine, then pulled her up to her knees. "Brace yourself on the headboard. " He moved in, helping her up.

She reached out and grabbed the high wooden railing along the top of the bed. "Like this?"

"Yeah," he said, kissing her neck. "Just like that. Look down. "

She did as he said, watching his hands grab her around the top of her thighs. He angled his hips and his cock nudged against her pussy from behind, the blunt tip poking at her clit. The angle had her moaning.

"Yeah, just like that, sweetheart," he said, hands going down until he was holding her up. Her knees barely touched the bed now. He rocked his hips into her.

"Matt, I'm too heavy," she managed to say.

He sank his teeth into the nape of her neck, sending chills down her spine. "No you're not. You're just right for me. I don't have to worry about breaking you," he said, licking the tender spot he'd just bitten. "I love it. "

"Oh God," she said, feeling her orgasm catching up with her again.

  "Close?" he asked.

She nodded, head dropping down to watch the crown of his erection poking out from between her folds. "Yeah. "

"Good. " He shifted again, and suddenly, the tip of his cock was sinking slowly into her pussy.

Lily panted as she realized exactly how large he was. "Are you going to fit?" She hoped so. He felt divine. She was so aroused that even the stretch as he pushed in felt good.

His chuckled sounded strained. "Yeah, baby. I'll fit. Don't you worry. "

She let her head drop back down as he steadily worked his way into her body. "God, you're big. "

He nodded. "Yeah. I know. "

His hips worked and she trembled. His hands gripped her thighs tighter.

"Still good?" he asked, not sounding so calm anymore.

"God, yes. Don't you dare stop," she said, concentrating on how delicious he felt. He was so wide the stretch pulled against her clit, sending little sparks of pleasure shooting through her. "Don't stop. "

"I'm not stopping Lily, trust me," he said, hips pushing harder.

Lily hung onto the bed, letting him do the work. When he’d finally sheathed himself in her, Matt stopped, panting against her shoulder. "You're fucking incredible. "

"Move. Please. God, Matt," she whispered, so close she could taste it. She didn't think he'd even have to touch her clit for her to go over.

"Okay, hang on tight," he muttered, then he pulled out, slick and hot.

Lily groaned, trying to screw herself back down on him. He tightened his grip and surged up, shoving inside in one hard thrust. She shuddered, pussy throbbing. "Please…"

"Yeah, I've got you," he said, pulling out and thrusting again. And again. Each time he moved, the thick head of his erection shoved over her soft folds, making her crazy.

"Oh, God," she breathed, trying to get more of him inside.

"Okay, okay," he said, licking up the back of her neck. He'd stopped, and Lily was definitely not okay with that.

"Matt, come on," she begged, when he slid out again.

Suddenly, Matt let go of her thighs and flipped her onto her back. She gasped, reaching for him, desperate to get him back inside. Before she could move, he picked her up by her hips and fucked back in, propping her against the headboard. She hung on, wrapping her legs around his waist. His cock felt even bigger from this angle and she ground down onto him, not caring that he could see her hot, sweaty face.

"Yeah, that's it," he said, thrusting gently, only half-leaving her body. "Fuck me. "

With those words, her eyes opened. He was looking right at her, hazel eyes dark with heat.

"Come on, Lily. Fuck me. "

She tightened her thighs, moving her hips in little circles. His cock was so big every tiny shiver made her spine sizzle with pleasure. He didn't move, just held her with his rock hard arms and let her set the pace. And suddenly, she got it. He was letting her fuck him, rather than the other way around. He gave her all the control. She bit her lip and tightened her muscles. He swallowed, thighs trembling. She'd never seen such self-control and strength in her life. Lily reached up, cupping his face. He leaned down a little and she kissed him, groaning when he devoured her as though he were starving.

"Lily, please move," he whispered, breaking away to pant into her ear. "I want you so badly. Fuck me. "

How can I resist that? she thought, brokenly. She twisted her arms around his neck and used her thighs to slide up and down, savoring the slick sensation of him fucking into her pussy. She was so wet, and so close, and then abruptly, with no warning, her orgasm seized her, sending her over the edge. Lily cried out, toes clenching, and he tumbled her down onto the bed, plunging into her wildly as she arched her spine. She'd never felt anything like it. The pleasure shocked her. He groaned, and when his cock jumped inside her, spurting hotly, she climaxed again, writhing on the bed. She closed her eyes and let the waves of it take her.

Several long moments later, Matt chuckled into her neck. They were still locked together, sweaty skin glued together. Her hips ached from how tightly she'd clenched her legs around him and she let them fall open, wincing slightly as the tingling in her toes reminded her that she wasn't twenty anymore.

"What's so funny?" she asked, stroking a hand up his back.

"I don't think I've ever come that long and hard in my life. " He kissed under her ear, then groaned and flipped onto his back. Cool air rushed over Lily. After a few minutes, he took off the condom, then padded to the bathroom and back again with a washcloth. He carefully cleaned her up, his touch so light and gentle she found herself blinking back tears.

What is wrong with me? she wondered, shivering. Matt pulled up the covers, spreading them over the two of them.

She snuggled into his warmth. "I don't think I have, either," she said belatedly, knowing it was true. She'd enjoyed sex with Jack, but it hadn't been anything like this. She licked her lips, suddenly unsettled. Since when had she become the kind of woman who would make love like that? Since you met Matt and he swept you off your feet, literally, she told herself.

"You're so sweet," he murmured, against her shoulder.

She ran her fingers through his hair. "So are you," she whispered, closing her eyes, not wanting to wrestle with her brain all night long. You can figure it all out in the morning, she thought, letting her body settle into Matt's. Soon enough, sleep came, washing all her worries away.

  Chapter Five

Matt woke up, heart pounding. Where was he? He didn't move, trying to figure out where he was and why he'd woken up before doing anything that might give away his position. That thought itself woke him up even more. Had he heard something?

You're in a room at Betsy's. You're with Lily. You're not in the Navy any more, sailor, he told himself. Even so, he didn't relax. Lily slept deeply, face mashed into the pillow. He could just make out the line of her shoulder in the dark, nude and soft above the covers. Vulnerable. He frowned.

He heard a rattle near the window and he tensed even more. He looked at the door, glad he'd instinctively put himself on this side of the bed. Any intruders would have to come through him to get to Lily. He didn't see anyone,
but that didn't mean anything. He was sure now there were men trying to get in. If they were any good at their job, Matt wouldn't see them coming.

He rolled out of the bed, crouching near the floor. The only way out was through the door across the room. The bathroom had no windows and had obviously been a later addition to the old house. He didn't want to go through the inn and put Betsy’s other guests at risk. He'd just have to be ready for whatever happened and hope his skills were enough to protect Lily. Knowing she was in bed made his blood run cold. These people could only be here for her. The fear cleared his head even more and he clenched his fists, waiting. When the door crashed in, he was ready.

He moved silently, taking out one man with a punch to the side of the head before he even knew Matt was there.

"Lily, get down," he barked, shoving the second man's hand up. The gun fell, rattling into the dresser, but Matt ignored it, already moving. A second later he had the guy down in a headlock. He put pressure on the man's artery, squeezing hard. He breathed a sigh of relief when he went limp.

"Lily?" Matt said, standing up. "Are you okay?"

"Matt? What the fuck just happened?" She flicked on the light.

"No, turn it off," he said, not wanting anyone outside to see them. "Two men broke in. There may be more. We have to get out of here. "

She flicked off the lamp. "Are they dead?" There was a rustling sound.

Good, she's getting dressed, he thought. "No," he said aloud, disarming the man he'd taken out earlier. He didn't mention the possibility that the first man might die if he didn't get to a hospital. Lily didn't need to know that.

"Shit," she muttered, grabbing her laptop and shoving it into a bag.

"Yup. I agree. Total shitballs of a way to end a fantastic night. " Matt had already pulled on his jeans. He shoved his feet into his sneakers. "You ready?" He went through the men's clothes. He pulled another gun off the first man and unloaded it, then grabbed the first gun and did the same. He found a knife on the second man. He looked around, but didn't hear or see anyone else, so he went to the bathroom and tossed the magazines into the toilet tank.

"Ready," Lily said, grabbing her purse and shoving it into the computer bag.

Matt nodded shortly. She'd even managed to grab her overnight bag. "You don't unpack?"

She shrugged. "I was afraid something like this might happen someday," she explained, looking down at the men on the floor as if she could make out details. Matt knew better. It was too dark for that. "I'm sorry, Matt. You should go home. "

"Shh," he said, gently pushing her behind him. "I'm not just going to abandon you, Lily. Especially not now. "

"I need to go. My car's still at the garage," she said.

"Shh," he said again, steering her to the wall by the door. "Hang on. "

She did as he asked, but she obviously wasn't happy about it. He ducked his head out the door, but didn't see anything. "Okay, it's clear. Come on. "

  ****

Lily followed him out of the room, hoping he was right about it being clear. She worried about the men in the room. What if they hurt Betsy or one of the other guests?

"What about the men in the room?"

Matt glanced back, frowning. "I'll call the cops from Alex's place, give them a report about noise or something. "

Lily nodded. "How long will they be unconscious?"

He lifted a shoulder. "Not long. That's why we've got to move. "

"They'll be gone, then, by the time the cops get here. "

"Can't be helped," Matt said shortly.

Lily figured he was right. She knew the police wouldn't help her, but it still bothered her. She vowed to call Betsy tomorrow and let her know that she'd stayed with Matt for the night. If everyone thought the room was empty, it would be a simple breaking and entering. No one would connect that to the men who'd tried to kill her. She took a deep breath, trying not to over-think it. If she did, she'd freak out and that wouldn't help. She clutched her bags tighter, focusing on putting one foot in front of the other. Matt led her down the path, carefully angling his body so she would be behind him the entire way. When they made it to the front of the bed and breakfast, he paused.

"One car. Looks empty," he said.

She peered around him. "I don't recognize it. "

"Me neither. " He shrugged. "We'll go to Alex's and figure out what to do from there. "

By the time they got to the garage, Lily was shaking from the adrenaline crash. She'd woken in the middle of the night to the sound of Matt quietly taking down two intruders and still felt a bit overwhelmed. She hated to think of him being injured because of her, but what would she have done without him?

I'd be dead, she thought, standing beside him. The door to the upstairs apartment was locked. The back of her neck crawled. Matt had taken her overnight bag to carry, but even so, she felt exhausted. Exposed. She checked behind them, but the street was still empty. Her legs shook and she put a hand on his bare waist as he got the door open. He doesn't even have a shirt on, so suck it up and deal, she ordered herself firmly. You're alive and Matt's okay. Her little pep-talk didn't work particularly well. She wiggled her fingers into the waistband of his jeans and hung on.

"Just a second," Matt said, flashing a smile at her over his shoulder. The lights from the street glinted in his eyes, making the hazel look grey. Lily smiled back. Matt knocked on the wall just inside the door.

  "What are you doing?"

"Alex and I worked out a system a long time ago," he said, knocking twice more.

"Matt?" A dim light in the stairwell flicked on. "What the hell? It's three in the morning. "

Matt walked in, shutting and locking the door. "Yeah, sorry. It's a long fucking story. "

"Well, shit. It better be good. I almost shot you. "

Lily looked up. Alex stood at the top of the stairs, cradling a shotgun.

"Put that away before you shoot yourself in the foot," Matt said, heading up.

"You can kiss my ass," Alex said, but he leaned the gun in the corner on the top of the landing. "What happened?"

Matt sighed as they reached Alex. "Let's take it inside, okay?"

Alex nodded and led the way, flicking on a small lamp just inside the door. Lily looked around curiously. The apartment had beautiful hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings. She would never have suspected this place existed on top of the garage. The open floor plan suited the space. A kitchen area was to the right and a comfortable looking living room directly in front of them. Alex walked to the coffee table in front of the sofa and sat down, running a hand through his hair tiredly. "Well, have a seat. "

"Aren't you going to get your shotgun?" Lily asked.

Matt laughed. "It's not loaded. He keeps it there to drive me crazy. "

"If it was loaded, I might hurt someone," Alex retorted.

Lily looked from one brother to the other, then shrugged. If Alex wanted to keep an unloaded shotgun at the top of his stairs, that was his business. She didn't have the energy to finagle an explanation out of him right now, though from the looks the brothers were giving each other, she knew there was a good story. Instead, she sank into the soft cushions and tipped her head back. She was insanely tired, but Alex deserved an explanation for why they'd come barging in. Before she could say anything, though, Matt spoke.

"Two men broke into Lily's room at Betsy's. " Matt rubbed his eyes.

"Fuck. What happened to them?" Alex leaned in, a worried look on his face.

"They're unconscious. I'm going to call the sheriff and report a break-in. "

"Let me do it. If you call it in, Harry's just going to blow you off," Alex said. He snagged his cell phone from a side table. "What do you want me to say?"

"Just tell him that you were taking a walk and you heard something," Matt said. "The men will be long gone by the time he gets there, but at least Betsy will be covered if Harry shows up to look around. "

"Why would the sheriff believe Alex and not you?" Lily asked.

&nb
sp; "Alex stays up late a lot, working on his cars, especially the really important ones. He's been known to take walks in the middle of the night. It's a safe town and he's a big guy, so no one thinks anything of it," Matt explained.

Lily frowned. "Why would Harry blow you off?" she asked more quietly as Alex murmured into his phone.

Matt grimaced. "Harry went to school with us. Same year. He was a bit of a bully, though being sheriff seems to have fixed most of that, thank God. Unfortunately, when we were seniors, he took a serious dislike to me. Thought I was making eyes at his girlfriend. "

Lily rolled her eyes. "Were you?"

"No, not at all," Matt snorted. "But Harry just would not let it go. One day, he jumped me in the parking lot after school. "

Lily didn't understand. "The two of you fought?"

Matt grinned. "Only if your definition of a fight included him falling down. He was about five feet two at the time. I wasn't. "

  Lily winced.

"Yeah. He punched me in the face. I punched him back. He went down really, really fast. "

"And he's held a grudge this long?"

"It happened right in front of his girlfriend," Matt said, then smiled wickedly. "They're still married. "

Lily laughed, feeling a little better. His story amused her. "I see. "

"Okay, Harry's on his way over to Betsy's to check it out," Alex said, tossing his phone on the coffee table with a clatter. "So, want to tell me what really happened?"

A half-hour later, Lily slouched in the front seat of Alex's truck, barely able to keep her eyes open. Matt was driving them to his place up on the mountain and she was exhausted.

"Are you sure about this?" she asked, not for the first time. "I don't want to get you all tangled up in my disaster. "

Matt sighed. Loudly. "Lily, go to sleep. "

She frowned at him. "I don't want you to get hurt. "

"I'm an ex-SEAL. I can handle it. Trust me," he said.
