Solar Eclipse Page 6

She focused on his face as the pleasure contorted his sexy features. Watching him spiked her confidence, seeing how good this felt to both of them, not just her. His thrusts became more erratic the longer he went, sending more tension and pleasure through her body.

Her orgasm slowly built this time but the faster he went the stronger it became. She tilted her hips causing even more sweet friction.

“Yes, baby. Cum for me.” Walter nipped at her shoulder bringing her even higher. Then he bit down harder sending too much pleasure through her system for her to keep down her orgasm. He kept his pace and followed her in his own release seconds after.

A current of electricity hummed under her skin sending her into waves of aftershock. Walter collapsed onto her. The pressure of him still on top wasn’t too much to handle as she expected it to be.

“You’re all mine, Amethyst.” Walter kissed her and then moved off to the side.

“All yours.” Amethyst sighed. He pulled her close to him and closed his eyes. “Happy birthday.”

“That was the best present you could ever give me.” Walter’s smile warmed Amethyst’s heart. There would be no turning back. They were bound together for life.

“Next year I’ll just have to be even more creative.” Amethyst giggled into his side. He kissed her head and rubbed her back. Affection for him eased any tension she once carried about connecting herself to him.

She liked being close to him and for the first time in a while, sleep came easily to her. Her mind wandered back to him going still when she mentioned kids before they completed the imprint. Later once she woke up she planned on calling in. She needed to take the day to really get to know her mate. And find out what he really wanted from their relationship. Dreams of Walter filled her mind but he acted odd every time she brought up kids, then he walked away in her dreams. Hesitation simmered in her stomach, while she debated what she had done.

  CHAPTER THIRTEEN

  Walter

SHE ACTUALLY COMPLETED the bond with me. Excitement coursed through Walter’s body while he looked at Amethyst’s sleeping form. When he had walked up the stairs earlier in the morning, he honestly didn’t think she was giving him herself. Part of him wondered if she truly wanted kids. The idea sent a shiver down his body. He didn’t want to be a dad, he knew without a doubt he wasn’t father material. I hope she doesn’t go into heat anytime soon.

He moved a section of purple and brown hair back from her face, her eyes fluttered open. A smile lifted her soft lips, and she stretched out her body. “Crap I need to call in.” She scrambled off the bed and ran out of the room. A light cough met his ears, and he stood to make sure she was okay. She coughed again and looked up at Walter while on the phone.

“Yeah, tomorrow I should be better. I’m so sorry.” She coughed once more and then hung up with a grin. “I’ve never played hooky before.” She looked amazing standing naked in his hallway.

“Really?” Walter smiled. He wrapped his hands around her waist and leaned in to kiss her.

“We should eat, Walter.” She looked up at him through her eyelashes which only heightened his desire to have her again. Denying her when she went into heat would be hell but he didn’t have to worry about it till later.

“I need you. It’s my birthday after all.” He leaned down and kissed her neck making her moan. “And you don’t need to go into work.” This time he nipped at her shoulder, her body pressed into him.

“True, I don’t have work now.” Amethyst grabbed his ass making his cock twitch.

“And your sexy little body is still naked.” His cock pressed against her tummy.

“What are you going to do about it?” she whispered into his ear. He knew exactly what he wanted to do in the hallway. Slowly, he moved their bodies toward the wall, he caged her in.

She leaned her head back and met his gaze.

“I’m going to fuck you right here.” Walter gripped her hips tightly.

“What are you waiting for?” Amethyst smiled making him groan. He lifted her body, using the wall to keep her steady, and placed his cock at her entrance. With one swift thrust, he entered her.

“Yes!” Amethyst cried out in pleasure. He gripped her hips tightly while he pushed deep into her. He couldn’t go slow, something about her demanded he gave it all he had. The harder he thrust the more ragged her breathing became. He loved the way she surrendered her body to him. His balls tightened.

“Cum for me, Amethyst.” Walter kissed her neck. Her core tightened around his cock, sending him over the edge. Together they reached their bliss before slowly coming back down to earth. “You’re beautiful when you cum.”

Amethyst placed her lips on his in a soft kiss.

“I have an idea of what we could do today.” Amethyst wiggled in his arms. He liked having her so close.

“What’s that?” Walter set her onto the floor and a smile lit up her face.

“We should go on a run together in our wolf forms. My wolf is itching to get out and have fun with yours.” She rubbed her finger over his chest.

“Sounds like fun but you, my dear, need to get clean first.” Walter lifted her back up and carried her to the shower for another round of hot shower sex. She was all his, and he wanted to take advantage of it. Especially since he would have to be good when the heat came. Walter thought about how bad of a father he might be as he pulled on his robe.

“Come on,” Amethyst grabbed his hand and they walked down the stairs to the backyard. Amethyst grinned from ear to ear as she pushed the soft blue robe to the ground.

“You remember how to shift back right?” Walter asked, and she nodded. He leaned forward and focused on letting his wolf out to play. Slowly, his wolf took a front seat in his mind, pushing the witch back. Amethyst bowed over and brown fur covered her body. He loved her in her human form but his wolf loved her with the fur.

They stretched out their new forms and Amethyst led the way out of his yard. After a few minutes through the backyards of other witches, they reached the north end of Austin. The farther they moved north the more Walter thought about the battle with Kerine. Amethyst stopped in the place where a year ago the Crescent Coven fought with the Moon Coven. In the end, the battle was more of an execution of the Elder Kerine than an outright fight.

Walter shifted out of his wolf form. He looked around the valley and images of the battle flooded into his mind. Another reason he didn’t want to be a dad, he knew he’d done something bad with Kerine but he couldn’t remember. How the hell will I be able to protect a child from the Kerines of the world?

“Are you okay, Walter?” Amethyst moved closer to him. She helped to calm his racing heart as the memories faded.

“Yeah, I’m fine, just a little out of it.” Walter glanced down into her lake-blue eyes, worry reflecting his own unease.

“What happened here?” Amethyst glanced around the field.

“This is where Kerine died. I thought after that my life would get back on track. There were no more threats to my life, but I had betrayed everyone’s trust when I had been protecting them.” He wanted to tell his family everything but every time he had started to explain, something happened. He rubbed the back of his head, trying to clear his thoughts.

“Why don’t you tell them why you did it?” Amethyst wrapped her arm around his waist.

“Why would they believe me? If I told them and they still didn’t believe I did it all for them, then I’m still stuck.” Walter shook his head.

“And if you tell them and they forgive you, then you will be able to start moving on.” Amethyst paused and glanced around. “It’s the reason I completed the bond with you. You showed me you’re a good person inside and sexy as hell out.” She leaned her head on him.

Walter smiled at that last part. He knew she was right, on some level but he didn’t want to face it.

“Maybe tonight I’ll talk to them.” Walter leaned down and kissed her head.

“Sounds like a good idea.” Amethyst leaned
up and kissed him. “How long is the spell binding us supposed to last? Do you know?”

“I’m not sure. Do you want to test it out?” Walter didn’t want her to go too far but let her walk a few paces away. There was no physical pull to be next to her but more of a mental pull instead.

“I think the spell faded.” Amethyst smiled. She tilted her head back. Walter’s body buzzed with magical energy, he knew the moon covered half of the sun, the totality of the solar eclipse would be soon.

“I wonder if it has something to do with us mating,” Walter called out trying to remember the different kinds of binding spells.

“Might be.” Amethyst snapped her head to the east. “Did you hear that?”

Walter looked where she stared but didn’t see anything. He wondered if he caught a shadow but he couldn’t be sure. Instincts kicked in and he moved closer to Amethyst. In the back of his mind, he knew something was wrong, but he didn’t know what. Walter snapped his fingers, covering their bodies with the clothes they wore before their run.

The light faded as the moon covered more of the sun. Once totality hit, Walter would be at his strongest for about five minutes.

“I found some wolves alone!” someone called out, making Walter’s skin crawl. Hunters!

  CHAPTER FOURTEEN

  Amethyst

THREE LARGE MALES AND one skinny guy walked toward Amethyst and Walter. All of them smelled of sweat and body odor making Amethyst’s nose scrunch up.

“Tell Klaus we will fill our quota early with these two!” one of the large hunters with long blonde hair yelled at the scrawny one. He, in turn, pulled out his phone and typed on the screen.

They inched toward Walter and Amethyst. Panic raced through her system. She had heard of hunters before from Maria but she didn’t know if she would be able to kill one.

“I’d stop right there and walk away.” Walter’s voice held more power than before.

“Why should we walk? You’re outnumbered and ripe for the picking.” The blonde rubbed his hands together. Amethyst’s stomach turned while her wolf paced in her mind waiting to strike. Walter growled low and moved his hand out in front of him.

“Dolor,” Walter spoke low and the blonde’s legs buckled and he screamed out in pain. Amethyst stared at the man as his body shook, his eyes wide with fear.

“What the hell?” the skinny one yelled, a newer scent filled Amethyst’s nose and she guessed the odor of fear perfumed the air. Her nose scrunched up again but her wolf pushed against the edge as the man screamed in pain.

“Like I said, you should walk away.” Once again Walter’s strength shocked Amethyst. Yes, he’s a bad ass but damn. Amethyst looked at Walter, anger glowed strongly in her mate’s eyes. Her wolf was happy to have him on her side.

“You’re a fucking freak. How did you do that?” The blonde finally managed to gain a steady breath and glared at Walter.

“You’re messing with a fucking witch, you inbred hick. Also, threating my mate isn’t a great idea either.” Walter clenched his fists at his sides.

Amethyst wanted to curse at the damn universe for the need to go on a run today. If they had been here hours earlier or even an hour later, the hunters might have never crossed their paths. Dread rolled in the pit of her stomach. They were looking for werewolves. What if they had attacked Maria, who’s pregnant? The idea terrified her to no end.

“Well, you and your mate will help us get higher in the Devil Hunter’s rank so we have to kill you.” The blonde shrugged and stood on slightly shaky legs.

After a few more steps they would have the advantage to attack without warning but Amethyst didn’t want to back up and give them more leverage. Her wolf clawed at Amethyst’s barrier, she wanted to get out and fight these hunters. Images of ripping the blonde to shreds filled her mind but fear of dying kept Amethyst’s barrier up.

I’m not strong enough, damn it!

A branch snapped off to the right and she turned to find a male and a female approaching them.

“Walter?” the male with black hair asked. The female’s long brown hair fluttered in the breeze and her smile faded into a worried line.

  “Devin. Call Derrick,” Walter yelled.

“Perfect, more wolves to kill. We will each have one.” The guy with a large scar across his face smiled, making his face contort.

“Why?” Devin yelled. Amethyst turned just in time for the bruised guy to jump toward her. Amethyst tried to move out of the way but he knocked her down.

“Fuck,” someone yelled, and all hell broke loose in the valley. A fist connected with Amethyst’s face making her dizzy. Before another blow came down, the weight of his body was lifted off her. Amethyst opened her eyes to find bruised guy flying into the skinny guy.

“Emily, can you help her?” Devin motioned toward Amethyst and Emily nodded. She moved closer and helped Amethyst into a sitting position. Amethyst rubbed the back of her head and rolled her shoulders.

  “Are you okay?” Emily asked.

“Yeah.” Amethyst shook her head and looked at Devin and Walter throwing two of the guys together. Walter’s left hand shook at his side.

“Do you know magic?” Amethyst turned to Emily. The woman’s brown eyes bulged.

“No, I’m human.” Emily shook her head frantically. The eclipse hit totality a few seconds ago, putting them in a darkened state. They weren’t in total darkness like Amethyst suspected would happen.

“Then stay back.” Amethyst focused on her wolf and let her come out. After what felt like minutes her wolf took over and hair covered her body. Power and strength filled her bones, giving her a sense of indestructibility. At least that’s how her flipping wolf felt but Amethyst knew better.

She leaped into action, attacking the skinny guy and knocking him to the ground. Baring her teeth, she wrapped her strong jaw around the male’s arm and pulled hard. Bone snapped under the force and blood filled her mouth. A foot collided with her gut making her gasp for air and let go of the arm. She turned to find one of the hunters looming over her.

A growl left her lips, her leg muscles bunched, ready to pounce.

“Don’t you know anything about hunters? I take an anti-bite pill to prevent the change, you freak,” he said before swinging at her again, this time Amethyst dodged it with ease. “You’re all mine.”

Walter’s shaking body caught Amethyst’s focus, and the guy took advantage of it, connecting his fist with her snout. Fuck, that hurt. A whimper of pain left her mouth before she managed to stop it. Her head ached from the hit but she kept her focus. Amethyst lurched for the guy’s right arm, his dominant side and with some luck caught it in her mouth. A yell of pain rang in her ear as she clamped down, her sharp teeth dug into his flesh.

“Don’t you turn me into one of you.” He punched at her with his less effective side and managed to get her leg but not with enough force to hurt too badly. The hunter stumbled back onto his ass.

Amethyst let go of his arm and managed to go for his throat this time. With all the blood loss he wasn’t quick enough to block her. She clamped down on his windpipe and pulled away. A gurgling noise met her ears, making her stomach roll.

What did I just do? Her brain scrambled to come to terms with it until a scream from Emily knocked her back into reality. Devin had a hunter looming over him and a knife in hunter’s left hand.

Amethyst ran for the hunter on Devin. Her teeth flared out and made contact with flesh. Shit, wrong guy! Devin screamed. Quickly, she let go and knocked the hunter off Devin.

“Walter, she bit me.” Devin’s pained voice broke Amethyst’s focus on her attack and the hunter pushed her off. She regained her standing. The other brunet guy glared at Amethyst but this time she knew exactly what to do. She knocked him down with the full force of her body and pulled out his windpipe like the first guy. When he finally stopped moving, she moved away. The moon began to reveal the sun signaling the end of the solar eclipse.

Devin’s body rolled around in pain.
Oh, crap he’s changing or dying.

  CHAPTER FIFTEEN

  Walter

EXHAUSTION CREPT INTO Walter’s bones as the last of the hunters took his last breath. Life no longer lit up the blonde’s eyes giving Walter a deep sense of pleasure.

“I’m so sorry, Devin.” Amethyst’s voice caught Walter’s attention, he turned just in time to see his brother shift into a werewolf for the first time.

“What the hell? I thought you were a witch?” Emily’s eyes bulged out of her head while she stared at Devin.

“Walter, I didn’t... I mean when I-” Amethyst’s mouth closed and tears fell down her face. Blood covered her naked body. He snapped his fingers to cover her, he needed to give her some protection. Guilt filled her soft blue eyes making Walter want to protect her instantly.

“Just breathe, Amethyst.” Walter took in a deep breath to help guide her breathing. Amethyst took in a shaky breath, tears still falling down her face. Devin rolled over and stood on shaky legs.

“Again, sweetheart.” Walter put a tiny bit more strength into his voice and Amethyst finally stopped shaking.

“Devin was being attacked by the guy and when I went to go pull the hunter off I bit him.” Amethyst wiped at the tears on her face.

“Devin, are you okay?” Walter turned to his brother who nodded and shook out his body. Growing up, both of them thought they were humans living in a world with werewolves. The brothers were the same in every way, strong witches with a new wolf side.

“Devin, do a little lap to get used to your wolf then we can help you shift back.” Walter motioned for him to move. After a few tentative steps, he ran around the valley with ease.

“Walter, if I could take it back I would.” Amethyst grabbed his hand tightly.

Instead of blaming her for the accident he pulled her into his arms to calm her down. “Hush, you didn’t intend to bite him. If he’s like me, he wanted a wolf but didn’t want to ask another werewolf to bite him.” He rubbed her back.
