LATER THAT AFTERNOON, I walked into the restaurant and nodded at Lucia, who was standing behind the hostess counter.
“Is he here?”
“He’s waiting for you in the back.”
I nodded and walked back to where Ramon sat waiting for me. He was eating tacos and flirting with the waitress as I slid into the booth.
I waited patiently, eying the young girl as she ignored me. When she was finished flirting, her eyes finally fell on me, widening as she blushed.
“Get the fuck out of here,” I whispered to her.
She nodded and scurried away. That was the only good thing about being Tuco Moreno’s wife, respect and fear came with the package.
“What did you find out?”
“They’re going on lockdown. Ryan Simon paid them a visit the other night. I saw them head to the back where the offices are.”
“Did you hear what was said?”
I shook my head and took a sip of his Margarita. “I just got there, Ramon. You think they’re gonna let me in on all their secrets?”
He leered at me and grabbed my wrist, sloshing the drink all over the table. “I sent you there to get me information not to play games.”
I yanked my hand away. “I’m not one of your goons that you can just order around. I do what I want when I want.”
He sneered at me. “I want more, Sophia. I’m not playing games.”
I looked over at the corner table, where some of the gang members were eating. It was always the same people, the same shit.
“Why don’t you get out of this, Ramon?” I reached over the table and grabbed his hand. I wanted us to leave. I’d asked him several times before. He knew I didn’t want to be here anymore and if it meant going with him, then better the devil you know, right? “Forget everything and we can go far away from here.”
He smirked and dragged his hand out from under hers. “Life isn’t one of your romance books, Sophia. Blood for blood is how debts are paid out here, Muñeca. Of course, you wouldn’t understand that. You live in that tightly sealed bubble I wrapped you in. So, since you don’t know, just do what I tell you to do.”
“They could kill me, Ramon! Don’t you get that?”
He shrugged. “You knew what you got into when you married me. This is my kingdom, Muñeca. You’re either with me, or you’re against me.”
He grabbed my wrist and squeezed tightly, making me flinch from the pain. “But don’t betray me, Sophia. If you do, you’ll be begging the Hell’s Lovers to kill you, just so you could escape me.”
I pulled my hand away from his grasp and stood up. Leaning down over him, I pressed my lips to his ear. “I hope you choke on those tacos.”
He smiled. “I love you too, Muñeca.”
I went back out to the street and made my way back to the apartment Tuco had set me up with. It was just on the edge of Los Perdidos’ turf, enough away so that the Hell’s Lovers wouldn’t suspect a thing. I had passed their background check since I had used my maiden name, Cruz. The apartment was also under my maiden name. Everything pointed to me being single, and God knows how I wish I was.
I plopped down on the bed and stared at the cracks in the ceiling. Closing my eyes, memories of Cain’s hands and his body flooded my senses. I pushed my hair back and groaned. If only I was alone, if only I didn’t have this curse placed over me, then I could be his.
I thought about telling him, but I was scared. Could he protect me from a man like Tuco? Could he forgive me? I’d have to wait. But one thing was for certain. I wasn’t going to give Ramon what he wanted. I wasn’t going to betray the one good thing that I had with this man. Hell’s Lovers or not, I wasn’t going to betray him.
CHAPTER SIX
CAIN
It had been a week since I first sunk my cock into her juicy folds. I had watched her dancing every night since then. She’d gotten more confident on the stage, even having her own routine. She had this sweet and sexy dance going on that I’m pretty sure Jade had talked her into. She was dressed in leather straps and silk nighties and everything you want from a submissive.
“If you look any harder your eyes may pop out of their sockets.”
Jade leaned on the bar next to me and I grimaced. “You’re a bitch.”
“Please. Like I don’t know what you want. I’ve known you for many years now, Cain Scardino. And that,” she nodded over to where Sophia was sliding down a pole sending my cock into spasms, “is something you want badly.”
“It’s none of your business what I want.”
She smirked. “True,” she slid closer to me and whispered, “but I also know what she wants.”
My eyes met hers, narrowing in on her. “She said something to you?”
She shrugged. “Maybe.”
“Stop being a bitch and tell me.”
“Stop calling me a bitch and I might let it slip out.”
I smirked. “Who are you kidding? You love bringing out your bitch.”
I had known Jade for a long time. She was tough and she loved to intimidate men. I guess it came with her job. She needed to be rough in order to protect herself. Being called a bitch was a compliment to Jade, especially if it meant she was grating on our nerves. I never saw her with a man, and the only man I ever saw her acting ladylike like with, was Knox. The fucker had her wrapped around his little finger, yet he didn’t even realize it.
She smiled. “It comes with the lifestyle.”
“So, are you gonna tell me?”
“Only if you’re nice to me,” she winked.
“What do you want?”
“I want a free tattoo. Right…here,” she pointed to the dimple on her lower back.
I raised an eyebrow. “Really?”
“Yes, really. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.”
I eyed her, but she looked sincere. “Okay. Deal. Now tell me.”
“Sophia’s a good woman, Cain. I don’t know why, but I feel like she needs a good man by her side.”
I took a swig of my beer and grunted. “I’m not a good man.”
“You’re as good as they come, Cain. You sure do have your kinks, but you’ve got a decent heart.”
“I don’t need a cling-on, Jade.”
“You’re right. What you need is a woman. A real woman. One who’ll get you out of that depressing state you’ve put yourself into.”
“What the fuck?”
“Come on! Like we haven’t noticed. Ever since that girl left you, you’ve been pouting like a little princess. I haven’t seen you take anybody into that secret room you have in a while. It’s time to get it up, Scardino.”
I nearly spit out my beer. “What the fuck do you know?” I asked wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. “I get a lot of pussy…including hers.”
“I’m not talking about pussy, Cain. I know you can get any you want. Shit! I’m talking about more than that. You deserve to be happy. That girl,” she nodded once again to the stage. “she’s happiness.”
“Just because you know about my past, doesn’t give you the right…”
“Whatever!” she cut me off with a wave of her hand. “Do what you want? But don’t act all tough around me, Cain Scardino. I’ve seen your ass cry.”
She left me wide eyed and open mouthed as she turned her back and left me. I stared at her back and blinked twice.
Jade was a conundrum. She ate men like me up for breakfast, yet she wanted what was best for the Hell’s Lovers. It’s true, she’d seen me at my worst moment of weakness. I don’t know if I actually cried, but I was drunk so if I did, it doesn’t fucking count.
It was right after Elena had left me. The woman had been my everything since we were in high school. Seventeen years and it all went down the drain, all because she decided to fall in love with someone else. She told me she needed excitement in her life, and apparently, I wasn’t enough for her. She said the military and the MC consumed too much of my time. Fuck that, another cock consumed too much of hers.
/> I should have known. Our relationship wasn’t the same as when we were younger. We grew apart, and my time spent as a Seal had only put stress on the relationship. She’d grown bitter and downright hostile with me. Instead of the loving wife I once had, I’d come home to a woman who was angry with me, yet I never knew why. I had taken up the bottle for the last couple years in our marriage, trying to forget what I’d seen and what I’d done out in the desert. In a way, she was right. I preferred to be with my brothers than with her. They never asked questions, but yet were somehow there for me.
After she left, I became a mess. The only one who pulled me through it was fucking Jade. The woman knew exactly how to toughen a man up. I had to admit, I was grateful to the wench. She listened to me and told me to get over it. If I didn’t, I was going to drown in sorrow and liquor. She had been right, I needed to move on with my life.
But now...shit, at thirty-five...I was tired. I didn’t want to start over again. Three years ago, I sold the house I had built with my own two hands, the one I gave Elena as a wedding gift. I sold it and gave her half what it cost, then I moved into Ravenous. I took the money I had gotten from the house and set up the Hell’s Lovers tattoo parlor. After I started rebuilding my life I realized how much Elena had constricted it. She didn’t like me tattooing, she wanted me to go into business. My patches were not allowed in the house, my bike was not allowed in our driveway and I was forced to keep it at Ravenous. We had different paths in life, and by the time we hit thirty, we weren’t seeing eye to eye.
Now that I look at it, it was for the best. I can do what I want, when I want, and I don’t have to report to anyone. I was my own boss and that’s how I liked it. I had loved Elena, but she wasn’t what I needed. Even in bed, she was somewhat of a prude. Anything other than missionary and she was freaking out calling me a pervert. I had to curb my appetite for the BDSM scene early on in our relationship, and I hadn’t realized how much I missed it until the divorce.
After talking to Wolf, I convinced him to give me my own private room, and it had been fucking perfect. In the last few years I was able to indulge in any fucking perversion I wanted, all while getting back at Elena. So I bought all the toys I needed and became who I was. After word spread, women sought me out like the plague. I was known for being a kinky motherfucker, and I didn’t give a shit. I even had some of our members wanting to learn exactly what I did, so they could practice on some of the girls here.
I was the one who set the rules, and if anyone broke one, they’d have to answer to me. None of our women were to be hurt and all our members knew this. They also knew that when they signed that contract with us, blood would be paid with blood.
It was fun, playing Dom, but the women who came to me just didn’t do it for me anymore. They were almost too easy to please, or maybe it was just that there was no connection. I already knew what their body wanted and the monotony of it quickly got boring. Until Sophia. I could tell she had never been in the scene before and just the fact that she had cum on my cock like that, told me it had been a long time since she’d felt that kind of pleasure.
She was a curious kitten, and if I had my way, I would have her bent over turning her luscious globes a nice bright red. My eyes went to the back of the bar where she stood with Jade. I always knew where she was, it was like my body was a magnet to hers. The feeling became even more intense after we fucked. Tonight she looked fucking amazing in thigh high leather boots and her tiny black shorts. Her sparkly top did nothing to hide those mouthwatering tits.
As my eyes travelled along the length of her body, her gaze suddenly caught mine. I fully turned towards her and winked at her. The sexy vixen blushed and looked down at her hands before continuing her conversation with Jade.
I smiled and took a sip of my beer. It would definitely be a sweet view to have her down on all fours just for me. I saw her glancing over at me and I lifted my beer and nodded to her. I knew I was teasing her. I wanted her to come over, but I didn’t think she would. She wanted me to chase her, she wanted me to take charge and there was something powerful in that. But I had to admit, I had my reservations. There was also something else about her, a gut feeling I guess you could say. She was hiding something from me. I could see it in her eyes, in the way she would look around the place, in how uncomfortable she was. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I knew it was better for me to stay away. At least for now.
CHAPTER SEVEN
SOPHIA
“Hi,” I whispered, as I sat down next to him at the bar. Cain looked over at me, once again his stoicism made me hold my breath in anticipation.
“I thought you were done for the night.”
“So, you were paying attention to me.”
His eyes met mine, assessing me. “I pay attention to everything, sweetheart.”
“I see,” I nodded.
I don’t know why, maybe it was my newfound taste of freedom, or maybe it was the last couple shots of tequila I had downed with Jade, but I couldn’t keep away from him anymore. I needed to talk to him, needed to feel him close to me, even if it was only for a few seconds.
He turned to face me. “What are you doing here, Sophia?”
“What?” I asked, surprised. A sense of unease travelled along my spine, and fear lingered on my senses.
He leaned into me, the coarseness of his beard brushing against my shoulder, sending delicious licks of pleasure down my back. “What are you hiding, Sophia?”
I turned to him and his lips grazed mine lightly. His soft groan made my pussy throb with desire. “Nothing. I’m just here to dance.”
He grazed his nose against mine and my lips parted. “I hope you’re telling me the truth, sweetheart.”
I trembled slightly, not from the fear, but from a deep arousal that only he was able to produce in me.
“I wouldn’t want anything to happen to you if you break any rules. You break my rules baby, and you answer to me.”
I swallowed, but couldn’t help but ask. “And what would you do to me if I do break your rules? Are you going to spank me?”
He growled and pressed his hands on my thigh, squeezing the flesh. I whimpered and gripped his arms. “Don’t tempt me, Sophia. I’m a lot more dangerous than you think.”
“What if I told you danger doesn’t bother me?” I teased. Feeling courageous, I placed a hand on his thick thigh.
His eyes travelled down to my hand and I brushed my hand across the growing bulge in his pants, gaining a groan in response. “I don’t know what you’re playing at Sophia, but I don’t think you know what you’re getting into.”
I pressed my forehead to his, feeling his hands roam my waist. “I love your hands on me, Cain.”
“I think you’ve had enough to drink for tonight,” he stated as he gently took away the glass in my hand.
I didn’t move as his arm grazed my breast, but I bit my lip as a jolt of warmth ran through me. “I miss your hands on me,” I whispered.
He stared at me hard, gripping my hips. “I suggest you get Jade to take you home now.”
With that said, he released me and walked away. I sat there, staring at his back, still having that lingering feeling of his touch on my body.
He was dangerous alright, but he was also the only man who could invoke such need in me. I needed Cain Scardino, and I was about to do anything to be his again.
RAMON WAS PISSED, and why wouldn’t he be? I hadn’t reported to him in nearly three weeks. He was waiting for me in his shitty office, if you could call it that, at the back of the bar. I hated the place. It was dingy and dirty, nothing like Ravenous. Ravenous was what it was, but at least the floors were clean.
“What the fuck, Sophia? I’ve been waiting for you for days!”
I slammed the door shut behind me and sauntered up to his desk. “I haven’t been able to get away. The Hell’s Lovers have surveillance everywhere.”
I could give him that. I wanted him to know how protected they were.
“It’s been
nearly a month since you got there, what have you found out?”
I narrowed my eyes on him. He didn’t bother to show any care for me. There was no asking how I was, or if I was okay. With him, I was just a pawn in his twisted game.
I sat down and eyed him. “Nothing.”
“What!” He slammed his fists on his desk. I didn’t flinch, I was expecting this macho outburst of his. “I sent you to do a job and you come back to me with this shit!”
I shrugged. “They’re tight lipped. They don’t have private meetings around us. Their Sargent at Arms makes sure everyone is out before anything between the Hell’s Lovers is spoken. They’re smart.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” he shook his head and propped his hands on the desk. “What about that surveillance?”
“All I can tell you is that they’re heavily armed. Every one of them carries a gun on them at all times and there’s always someone around to protect us.”
“How many cameras do they have?”
“I counted at least seventeen. They also have alarms.”
“Fuck! Que puta madre!” He ran a hand through his hair and grunted. “Where are they located?”
“They’re all over the place…”
“The ones outside! Where are they located?”
I swallowed, being careful of what I told him. My loyalty to Ramon was held in our marriage vows. But there was Cain, and what I had felt with him was a lot stronger than any vows. Not only him, but Jade and even Rahyne. They were all good people. The Hell’s Lovers were decent men and they didn’t deserve what Tuco wanted to do to them.
“Well…” he stared.
“Umm…I saw three outside. One at each corner of the building and one right above the door.”
“That’s it?”
I nodded, but I was lying. Riggs, the Hell’s Lovers Road Captain, handled surveillance for the club and he was a smart man. There were sensors set up all along the building and he had surveillance cameras across the street as well, but I didn’t tell Ramon all that. Jade had told me that in confidence, trying to reassure me that we were safe. And if I was about to do what I had in mind, then I needed to make sure that the Hell’s Lovers MC remained protected.
