Hot & Sweet Page 15

The first push inside him made Kai bite down on his lip, squirming even as Wyatt shushed him, his need too urgent to hold still and take this slow.

He wanted Wyatt. Desperately. He needed this final proof that he could keep him, that he hadn’t lost him.

“Patience,” Wyatt murmured against his thigh, kissing his way back down. “Let me enjoy you,” he added, and oh, that was… that was…

Wyatt chuckled. Kai could feel himself blushing, the fact that he was really, really into this written all over his face.

“So responsive,” Wyatt cooed. “Love watching you fall apart.”

Kai arched his back as Wyatt eased his fingers in and out of him, warming him up, keeping everything gentle and easy and frustratingly slow. He’d whispered once in Kai’s ear that he could do this all day, and Kai believed him, and hell, maybe he even wanted that.

Not right now, though. Right now, he wanted Wyatt. All the way inside him, filling him up, silently promising him that this was it, this was what he wanted.

He knew, of course. He knew in his heart that he really did get to keep Wyatt, that their lives were about to be inextricably tied together and that neither of them was even a little bit upset about it.

  He still wanted the reassurance.

And to be fucked. Really fucked.

Wyatt knew what he was getting, and what he was getting was Kai being as demanding in bed as he was out of it, and not being even a little bit sorry.

“More,” he murmured, rocking his hips eagerly, pushing back against Wyatt’s fingers.

Wyatt laughed again, twisting his fingers and then pulling them almost all the way out, grinning at Kai the whole time.

  “What’s the magic word?”

“I’ll be more inclined to suck your cock later if you give me what I want now?” Kai raised an eyebrow.

Wyatt licked his lips, and then shrugged. “Close enough.”

A chuckle caught in Kai’s throat as Wyatt shoved three fingers inside him, up to the hilt, in one fluid move. It turned into a low, broken moan as his cock twitched, a bead of precome welling up at the tip, his thighs tensing and his toes curling as he adjusted.

“Dammit,” he gritted out. “That’s not fair.”

“Yeah it is,” Wyatt said. “You asked for more, I’m just giving you what you want.”

That was hard to argue with, so Kai didn’t bother. He wanted Wyatt, all of him, and he was okay with a little teasing along the way.

Hell, he wanted the teasing. That was part of Wyatt, too. One of Kai’s favorite parts, even.

“I love you,” Kai said, the words welling up in his throat before he could stop them. Not that he wanted to. He wanted Wyatt to know how happy he was, how much he wanted this, now and in the future, how good this all felt.

“Feeling’s mutual,” Wyatt said, kissing Kai’s knee as he worked his fingers in and out of his body, building a rhythm that Kai really hoped was a preview of how he was going to fuck him in a minute.

He let his eyes fall closed and rocked his hips, letting himself gasp and moan and squirm on Wyatt’s fingers, letting him see how desperate he was, how badly he needed Wyatt’s cock.

“Ready?” Wyatt asked, not even pausing for a second while he waited for a response.

Kai nodded eagerly, rolling over the moment removed his fingers and moving to all fours, his heart hammering in his chest as his mind raced ahead, already anticipating how good Wyatt was going to feel inside him.

He shifted his weight as he felt Wyatt settled behind him, biting his lip. Wyatt’s hands were gentle on his hips, just barely holding him, brushing over his ass and thighs with the barest hint of possession.

The head of Wyatt’s cock pressing against him made Kai gasp, his heart pounding all over again. One of Wyatt’s hands skimmed up his spine, tickling the oversensitive skin, pausing at the back of his neck, and then sliding up into his hair and tightening just the perfect amount.

A desperate little moan escaped Kai, Wyatt’s touch driving him to rock his hips, push back and silently beg for what he wanted. Wyatt’s grip on Kai’s hair tightened just a little more, making him inch his knees a little further apart and whimper.

“Oh, you love that,” Wyatt said, clearly thrilled by this discovery. “I can’t wait to find out everything you love like this.”

Kai couldn’t wait for Wyatt to find out, either. He would have said so, but Wyatt was lacing the fingers of his free hand with Kai’s, and pressing his hips forward, and between the way his heart contracted at having his hand held and the incredible, perfect pressure of Wyatt filling him, the power of speech was quickly becoming a distant memory.

A groan tore out of him as Wyatt started rocking his hips, and he tightened his fingers, squeezing Wyatt’s to let him know how good this was, how much he liked it.

The thought that he could have this all the time was incredible. He’d always have Wyatt, because Wyatt was, somehow, in love with him.

Things couldn’t have worked out better if he’d planned them this way.

Wyatt started out with slow, careful strokes that finished with him inside all the way to the hilt, pulling back until he was in danger of slipping out.

His hand worked in Kai’s hair, pulling by the roots, just enough to feel good without hurting, his fingertips massaging the tension out of Kai’s scalp. Everything about it was perfect, as though he could read Kai’s mind.

Kai moaned his way through every thrust, needy sounds falling from his lips as he closed his eyes and focused on the satisfying fullness of Wyatt’s cock inside him, the building rhythm of Wyatt’s hips leaving him steadily more desperate, arousal hot and tight in the pit of his stomach.

“Harder,” he gasped, his thighs burning with the effort of holding out, urgency gripping him as Wyatt kept hitting his sweet spot with every agonizingly slow rock of his hips.

Wyatt didn't argue this time, tightening his fingers in Kai’s hair just enough to border on painful, his thrusts speeding up, gaining force, the mattress creaking under them with every movement.

Kai was eager to get used to this, eager to finish up all his days with Wyatt inside him, fucking him so thoroughly that his head spun, that he felt as though he was right on the edge of passing out from the sheer pleasure of it.

“So good,” Kai panted, his stomach tightening as the first little warning shiver of his fast-approaching orgasm rippled through him. He could come like this, Wyatt fucking him steadily, tugging experimentally on his hair, holding his hand.

Hell, he even wanted to. There were thousands of inventive things he wanted to do with Wyatt, but this was nice, and satisfying, and they had all the time in the world, now that they were sure of each other.

Almost exactly as he finished thinking that, Wyatt gathered all of Kai’s hair up in his hand, pulling it into a ponytail and then wrapping it around his fist, using it to pull Kai up and back onto his cock, speeding his thrusts at the same moment.

Kai moaned, gasping for breath, suddenly right on the edge of coming. This was exactly what he’d wanted, and dammit, how did Wyatt just know him like this, and what had he done to deserve him?

Wyatt’s fingers curled around his cock, his hand tugging on Kai’s hair, his cock pounding into him now, hard and fast and at the perfect angle, and that was all it took for Kai to start coming undone.

A groan rumbled in his chest as his hips started to jerk out of time, everything suddenly too much, too good, and then the white-hot rush of pleasure down from the nape of his neck to the base of his spine overwhelmed him.

Every stroke of Wyatt’s cock made another jolt of pleasure surge through him, leaving him gasping and sobbing as he came in thick spurts all over his own stomach and Wyatt’s hand. He panted, and cursed under his breath, and whined as his cock started getting oversensitive, Wyatt’s touch painfully pleasurable for just a moment before he let go.

A few hard, fast jerks of his hips later, Wyatt was coming as well, his whole body tightening for a moment b
efore all the tension seemed to flow out of him in waves, each one punctuated with a soft little moan that coiled around Kai’s heart.

He could definitely go for a lot more of this.

  A lifetime, even.

Kai let his knees give out under him, flopping down onto the mattress, utterly spent.

Wyatt hovered over him for a moment, letting go of his hair and smoothing it out before collapsing beside him, panting harshly.

“Fuck,” he choked out after a minute, still panting. “And I thought the sex was hot before I fell in love with you.”

Kai chuckled, equally out of breath, and reached out to grope for Wyatt’s hand. He curled his fingers around it when he finally found it, squeezing tight.

He really didn’t want to let go. Not now, not ever.

“We’ve got until Friday before that new contract arrives,” Kai said. “Plenty of time to see just how hot it can get.”

  Wyatt whimpered. Kai grinned.

“You’re perfect,” he said, a wave of love and affection toward Wyatt washing over him as he turned his head to look at him.

He wasn’t entirely sure he deserved this, but he was going to do whatever it took to keep it.

“You too,” Wyatt said, beaming at him.

Yeah. This was definitely worth fighting for.

  Chapter Twenty-Nine

“So for this first episode,” Wyatt began. “I’m gonna show you a recipe that means a lot to us. This is how I told Kai I loved him for the first time.”

A soft aww rippled through the studio audience, making Wyatt blush.

He looked over at Kai, who was watching him fondly, and smiled.

Their ratings were going to go through the roof. Marnie had come back to them with a completely new offer—one series of a show they were calling Made with Love, where they got a kitchen set that looked like it might actually have been in their house, and they were supposed to cook everything cooperatively, and to make it really, really obvious that they were together. To be renewed as long as ratings held up.

She’d had them do interviews and a photoshoot that, despite being fully-clothed, was more intimate than anything Wyatt had ever done before.

Kai hadn’t let him get dressed for two days after, so he’d sent the photographer flowers as a thank you. Two weeks later, he still thought about it a lot.

And now they were filming the first episode of the season, and yeah, it wasn’t the dream deal Kai had gotten in the first place, but…

  He seemed happy.

  And Wyatt was happy.

Which was all that really mattered, wasn’t it?

“He still makes them for me when he wants something,” Kai teased.

“Oh, like you never make them when you want something,” Wyatt said, but he was smiling. It was hard not to.

Besides, the last thing Kai had wanted was for Wyatt to pull his hair while he fucked him again, so it wasn’t as though he did it to get Wyatt to agree to things he didn’t want to do anyway.

The honeymoon period definitely hadn’t faded, and he was moving into Kai’s apartment this weekend. He wasn’t expecting to get a whole lot of sleep for the first few weeks.

Not that it was just about sex. Wyatt’s favorite moment of the day had become waking up with Kai beside him, tucking any loose strands of hair behind his ear, and kissing him softly. At times like that, his heart felt so full it was in danger of bursting.

He was in love. Deeply, ridiculously, utterly in love.

“I think we should put a scan of the recipe you gave me up on the website,” Kai said. “But I’ll write out a version that actually explains how to make them as well.”

“Hey, you understood,” Wyatt said, laughing. “Kai’s the writer, of the two of us. He’s a lot smarter than me.”

“I’m really not,” Kai responded. “I’m the pretty one.” He grinned.

“You are really pretty,” Wyatt agreed. “Even my mom said so.”

She’d taken the news well, and so had his dad, for that matter. Hell, she’d even anticipated it, when Wyatt had called to tell her. Apparently, she’d been watching the previous show.

Which was nice to know, too. He’d never been entirely sure if his family were happy with his decision to work on TV instead of in his uncle’s bakery, but he and Kai were already invited to Thanksgiving, which was only a few weeks away now.

They’d have to start thinking about what they were going to do for that show, too. Kai was bound to have ideas.

“Your mom is so nice,” Kai said. “Hi, Wyatt’s mom, if you’re watching. I love you.”

Wyatt chuckled, starting to weigh out his flour.

“Anyway, I’m making enough pancakes for two—by which I mean, I get one, and then let Kai eat the rest—but this recipe is easily doubled, tripled, quadrupled… pancakes are a good no-fail option, and the chocolate chips in this recipe are guaranteed to impress.”

“Guaranteed to impress me, anyway,” Kai said.

“Which is why you’re about to demonstrate how to chop chocolate for this,” Wyatt said, nodding to Kai to get started. “While I weigh out the rest of these dry ingredients.”

“Wyatt makes me do all the knife work,” Kai said. “I have to sharpen his knives whenever I cook in his kitchen, since he apparently doesn’t know how.”

“I know how,” Wyatt protested. “I just figure, why go to the effort when you’ll do it for me? And you love telling me all about how I should maintain my knives better.”

“You should maintain your knives better. I come over mostly for their sake,” Kai teased.

Wyatt chuckled, plucking a lump of brown sugar out of the bowl and shoving it in his mouth. “If you accidentally weigh out too much brown sugar, you can just eat it,” he explained, which made Kai laugh on the other end of the bench.

Things were even easier between them now, which Wyatt probably should have expected. After all, it helped to be hopelessly in love with your co-host.

“Says the man who deliberately weighs out too much brown sugar so he has to eat it,” Kai responded.

“People who eat the rest of the block of chocolate while they’re waiting for the pancakes to cook shouldn’t throw stones,” Wyatt said, smiling. This felt good.

He’d always liked his job, but he couldn’t ever remember having more fun with it than he was now.

“If you were faster, I wouldn’t have time to eat the whole block,” Kai said.

“You can’t rush art,” Wyatt said. “And you really can’t rush these pancakes. The batter’s thin, so they’ll cook nice and evenly, but you’ve gotta watch the heat, or the sugar will burn. And that’s not what we’re going for in this recipe.”

“Excuses,” Kai scoffed, but Wyatt could hear the smile in his voice.

He could hardly believe that he got to do this for a full year, at least. Spend an hour a week in the kitchen, with Kai, letting the whole world see how disgustingly, incredibly in love they were.

How well they just fit together.

And how much they enjoyed making food for each other, which was quickly becoming one of Wyatt’s favorite parts of his new life. They took turns cooking, and Kai’s food was amazing, and he always seemed to enjoy whatever Wyatt put down in front of him.

It wasn’t exactly hard to imagine them living in domestic bliss.

“Anyway, if you’re cooking for a crowd you can keep these warm in a low oven,” Wyatt continued, and really, he’d never been happier in his life.

“Wyatt also says they freeze well, but we’ve never had leftovers to try it,” Kai added.

“They do freeze well. But the amount of self-control required to keep enough to freeze is apparently hard to come by.”

“You love me,” Kai said, beaming brightly at him.

“Yeah, I do,” Wyatt agreed, grabbing a whisk. “Now finish up with that chocolate before we all die of old age.”

Kai laughed, going back to his work.

Yeah. This was about the best ending Wyatt cou
ld have asked for.

  Epilogue

  Three years later...

“Honey?” Wyatt called as he closed the door behind him, making Kai look up from where he’d been looking at cookbook proofs on the couch. He had to finish reading them and send in any corrections by tomorrow afternoon, but his interest in doing that was waning.

Especially now that Wyatt was home.

He turned around and swung his legs off the other seat to leave room for Wyatt to sit down next to him, grinning as he approached.

Wyatt swooped in, kissing him softly like always, and then presenting him with a bag of doughnuts.

Kai could smell the chocolate glaze without even having to open them.

Wyatt had spent the last year working on his own boutique bakery, and he’d started off only opening for a couple of hours a day, trying to keep things small to start with, but all that had done was immediately increase demand.

He was opening two more in a couple of weeks, just to keep up.

The last three years had passed them by in a whirlwind of travel and special appearances and book deals—this was Kai’s third book, and the publisher had begged him for it. This time last year, Wyatt had asked him, shyly, in bed, if it was okay if he thought about starting a business.

Kai had laughed, and kissed him, and promised him all the support he needed and to be as patient as he was physically capable of being.

He thought he’d done a pretty great job, considering, and Wyatt had named the chocolate-glazed doughnuts after him. That probably meant Wyatt thought he’d done a pretty good job, too.

The fact that he kept bringing them home for Kai was an added bonus.

“So I have exciting news,” Wyatt said, flopping down on the couch beside Kai. “Unless you wanna tell me about your day first?”

“I’m going to go blind looking at this manuscript,” Kai said. “So nothing new.”

Wyatt chuckled. He’d been supportive, too, putting up with Kai’s experimental cooking, late nights when he was approaching a deadline, a week of eating variations on the same dish to get the flavors just right…
