Save a Horse, Ride a Werewolf (Smokey Falls Woves Book 2) Page 9

by V. Vaughn

Alex lets out a groan as his cock swells in my grip. "Oh yeah? What did you have in mind?"

I reach further back to cup his balls. "First, I might need to inspect your hose."

He lets out a snort of laughter. "Please tell me you didn't just call my dick a hose."

I laugh, too as I nudge him toward the bedroom, and Alex walks backward until he bumps against the bed. I grab his shorts by the waistband and lower them before I push him onto the mattress.

He gazes at me with dark eyes. "Take your clothes off for me, babe."

I'm in only a T-shirt and panties, so I strip off my underwear first and toss it at him.

Alex grabs them in the air and clutches the silk to his chest before I lift my shirt up and over my head, and his voice is gravelly when he says, "Hold your boobs."

I lift the weight of my breasts and rub my thumbs over my nipples to make them hard. A low rumble comes from Alex, and the sound sends waves of desire through me.

"My god, Jayden. You're so sexy. Are you wet for me?"

I nod and widen my stance to reach down between my legs. "So ready, babe," I say as I insert two fingers into my sex and slide them in and out.

"Show me," Alex says as he grabs himself to tug hard.

I lift my hand up so he can see my fingers glistening with my juices.

"Yeah, babe. That's what I like. Come give me a taste." He lies back on the bed so I can climb over him and straddle his face.

Spreading my legs wide, I grab onto the headboard and lower myself over his mouth, and he reaches up to spread my folds with his fingers. I let out a moan when he swipes his tongue over my sensitive nub and then plunges it into me.

  "Oh, Alex."

I move over him as he gives me pleasure, and when I reach my climax, he tortures me by replacing his tongue with his fingers until I'm squirming again.

"Stay there," he commands as he moves.

I reposition myself to take him from behind. Alex nips at my bottom with his teeth when I thrust it out, and then he lets out a growl that sends a shiver down my spine as he slides his cock along my seam.

  "What do you want, Jayden?"

  "You, Alex. I want you."

He puts just the tip of his cock inside me, and I tremble with my need for more.

  "Deeper. Please."

Alex pushes into me slowly, and I moan at the delicious mix of pleasure and teasing.

"Faster." I shove my bottom back against him. "Harder."

Alex lets his primal need drive him, and I get what I want as he rams into me and takes what he needs. Our moans and cries punctuate the movement of our bodies, and the heat of our passion melds us together as one as we both climb to the precipice of our connection and our love.

My mate is lost in me the way I'm lost in him when he shatters, and his essence filling me has me on the brink, but what tips me over the edge is when he scrapes his teeth along the base of my neck where he'll soon mark me for life in the true-mate bite. The bonding ritual that will tie us together for life. I cry out with my orgasm as if I'm begging him to sink his wolf fangs into me now. I reach back and clutch at his head with desperation.

  "Please, do it."

My mate wraps his arm around my waist as he pants from exertion. "If only, babe, but you need this wedding as a human." He flips me onto my back and hovers over me. "It's your final goodbye and the day that will mark your entry into my world, Jayden. This ceremony is too important for either of us to miss."

I let out a sigh because he's right. When Alex bites me, we'll become bonded forever. My life will go from being one of ignorant bliss in so many ways. Once I become a werewolf, my senses will become heightened, and I'll never experience the world the same way. And with that connection, Alex and I will have the ability to communicate telepathically. We'll be in tune with each other until one of us dies, tied by a love we can never deny.

As I breathe in the musky odor of us and touch the sweat-slicked firmness of Alex's chest, I realize I don't need the bond to make our love last forever, because I know in my heart it already will. I smile up at him as I trace along his jaw with my finger. "I love you so much, Alex, that I don't need a wedding. But our family does."

He smiles back. "They do." He chuckles as he moves to lie on his back beside me. "Juliet sure is shaking this pack up with her human girlfriends stealing our hearts."

"What?" I sit up. "Did you say girlfriends as in more than me?"

Alex moves his hands up behind his head as he grins cockily. "I believe I did."

"Who else found their true mate? It's Chelsea, right? Oh my god. Why don't I know this?"

Alex laughs. "Because as far as I can tell, only Byron and I know. I'm not sure Jackson has figured it out yet, and your friend is clueless."

"Jackson." I glare at Alex as I try to remember who Jackson is. "Who is he, and which friend?"

He lifts his shoulders and gives me a secretive smile. "Time will tell."

I punch him playfully in the stomach. "You're horrible. Tell me."

In a flash, has me on my back again. His cock is hard against my stomach as he lies on top of me. The look in his eyes is the one he gives me when I know I'm all that matters. "I love you, Jayden."

  "I love you, Alex."

He kisses me, and for a moment, I'm sucked in by the rush of emotions. But I break away when I remember what I was asking.

"Stop distracting me. I want to know."

He chuckles and kisses me again, and this time, I forget everything but us.

  Seventeen

Classical music plays as I watch my bridesmaids and the groomsmen walk around the corner of Carol and Dave's house in pairs to go down the aisle between the chairs set up on the lawn. They'll wait for me with Alex. I turn to my mother, who's wearing a sleek dress of peach silk as her newly dyed strawberry-blond hair sits piled up high on her head. She looks elegant, and I smile at her.

"I think a few male eyes will be on you today, Mom. You're stunning."

"Hush," she says as she smoothes out her dress, but I catch the smile that plays on her lips, and I laugh. Her eyes twinkle in response. "I do, don't I?"

"You really do." I lift up my elbow. "Ready to give me away?"

She takes it. "Never. But I will share you with Alex, so let's go."

Our cowboy boots, a detail my mother insisted we splurge on to fit in with the pack as well as allow us to walk on a lawn gracefully, thud softly over the lawn. The moment we turn the corner, I look for Alex, and pride fills me when his mouth opens and his hand flies up to cover his heart. Audible sighs and murmurs about how beautiful I am come from the crowd, but Alex is the only one I'm focused on.

His black tuxedo emphasizes his broad shoulders and narrow waist, and I'm sure he's the most handsome man I've ever seen. His warm brown eyes are bright as he watches me approach. Words are said by the pastor, but I don't hear them as my mother steps aside and Chelsea takes my bouquet. The moment Alex takes my hands, it's as if the world around us disappears, and I concentrate on the warmth of his touch and let the love I feel seep through my fingers to his. I only break from my trance when I hear, "Jayden, Alex, you may exchange your vows."

I take in the man before me who is about to become my husband. "Alex, the day we met, I knew I'd found the man of my dreams, but what I didn't know was exactly what that dream was. I thought it was to be loved unconditionally for the rest of my life. I've since learned that while the love of a good man is important…" I glance at the wedding party and then at the crowd of people sitting in the chairs watching us. I see warm smiles and glistening, tear-filled eyes, and the love of the Smokey Falls pack nearly topples me over with emotion. I swallow hard and continue. "It's the love of family that makes an ordinary life extraordinary. I'm so proud to be welcomed into the pack by you all." I turn my attention back to Alex. "My true mate and life partner, I promise to love, cherish, and honor you until death do us part." My hand shakes when I let go of Alex to take the ring Chelsea hands me, but when I move to plac
e it on my mate's finger, I'm as steady as a rock.

Alex smiles down at me before he begins. "Jayden." He lets out a heavy sigh, and people chuckle. He looks at the crowd. "Many of the werewolves here know exactly how I feel, but for those of you who are human or haven't met your true mate, let me tell you. When you meet your true mate, the world begins to live for you instead of the other way around. Everything you do becomes better and more full of love and happiness because of who is suddenly in it." Alex turns back to me. "I promise, Jayden, to love, cherish, and honor you until death do us part." He takes my ring from Dean and slides it on my finger.

The pastor says, "I now pro—"

Alex grabs me with fierceness that makes me gasp before he dips me down and kisses me dramatically in front of the crowd. It should be romantic, but I can't stop giggling, and when he straightens us, he winks at me.

The crowd lets out whoops and cheers as he says, "Sorry, but I needed to give the pack the wedding kiss they expect from the movies."

I grab his face in my hands and kiss him with the serious version I want, and when we break apart, I say, "That was the real one." I grab his hand and turn to the rambunctious group of werewolves ready for fun. "Let the party begin!"

"Yee haw!" calls out Byron, and he rushes by us to grab Alisha's hand and hold it up as he calls out to the guests. "Start the music, because someone needs to teach the flatlanders how to dance!"

The country and western band launches into a song, and I laugh as Dean drags a reluctant Chelsea to the temporary dance floor to join Byron and Alisha.

All the talk of how pretty the dresses were or how lovely the ceremony was is lost on a pack of werewolves as more couples join the wedding party, so I look at Alex and ask, "What are you waiting for? Let's dance."

Our reception is a big party. Conversations hum around me as I take a moment to rest from dancing while Alex gets us something to drink. I look around and notice what's going on while I have a moment to myself, and realize I had no idea how important the buffet idea was. Guests are grabbing things to eat when they feel like it, and silverware is definitely optional for quite a few of the werewolves. I'm also glad Carol talked me out of a seating chart. It's apparent nobody would have followed it anyway as guests mill around to talk.

"There you are," says Carol as she sits next to me. "Are you having fun?"

"It's wonderful. I can't believe how well this all came together." I reach out to touch her arm. "Thank you so much for this."

"You're welcome, dear. It's quite a bash." She lets out a sigh. “I hear you’re going to Paris for a honeymoon. I really wish I’d done a human wedding. That sounds like such fun.”

“It will be.” I glance up as my father-in-law approaches.

Dave holds out his hands to me. "Jayden, I need a dance."

I stand up. "So do I."

I dance with my new father-in-law before I'm passed off to a family friend, and it's a while before I find Alex again.

He grabs me when a slow song plays and holds me tight. "How's my lovely wife?"

"She's so happy. What about my charming husband?"

"Having the time of my life."

As we move over the dance floor, I see my mother with an attractive older man. She's giggling at something he said.

I whisper to Alex, "Who is that with Rosemary?"

He turns me so he can get a better look and smiles. "Nathaniel."

I move us a little closer so I can eavesdrop, and I hear my mother say, "I bet you're an animal behind closed doors."

"Oh my god," I say as Alex whisks me away laughing. "What?"

"Nathaniel's a very age-appropriate, single werewolf for your mother."

I chuckle. “That’s not what I’m upset about.” My mother deserves the kind of love I have too. "Would you want to hear your mother say that to your dad?”

  Alex grimaces.

“Exactly,” I say. “I think it’s great Rosemary might have a found another reason to stick around. Maybe my mother's cards were right. She does need to be here, and it might not be for me."

Alex puts his forehead on mine. "Now you get it, babe."

I brush my lips over his and think about how I've found a big family to love and care for while they do the same for me. And now my mother is a part of it too. I say, "I really do."
