  The blood began to hiss as it moved to the center of the circle. A shape began to rise slowly, accompanied by the hissing of boiling blood. Cumhacht’s eyes widened at the sight.

  The shape grew taller until it reached the height of a man. Features began to form – first arms and legs, then a face. A wide mouth filled with sharp teeth appeared, already broadened into a smile.

  The drum began its somber rhythm once more. The robed figures began to chant.

  Skraa. Skraa. Skraa.
