A smile broke over his face. “You can be if you want to be.”
I followed him back over to the net. He pointed to a scrawny guy and told him to leave. A moment later, the game was on. I hadn’t played volleyball since my college years, about a decade earlier, but I tried my best to keep up with the active young men.
“What's your name?” the one with the chiseled abs asked between plays.
“Lacrecia.”
“That's a beautiful name.”
“Thanks. What's yours?”
“I'm Jake. You want to serve next?”
“Sure.”
He tossed me the ball. I sent it hurtling over the net to the other side where someone hit it back to us. Jake dove a few feet and just managed to return it to the other team. They missed it, giving us the point. As Jake stood up and dusted the sand off his hard body, I couldn't help but stare. His shorts barely covered his crotch. They definitely left nothing to the imagination.
“Heads up.”
I looked up just in time to catch the volleyball as he threw it to me. After my serve, the ball went back and forth over the net a few more times before the other team missed again. Jake moving back and forth, laughing and talking smack was a turn-on to me. He seemed like a real man, a lot different than Tom, the man I had broke up with before coming down to the Bahamas to enjoy a little time away from him.
In midst of my thoughts, the ball hit me in the arm.
“Ouch,” I said, rubbing my arm.
“Pay attention,” one of my other teammates yelled.
“That's it. I'm done, boys,” I said, trying to live up to my MILF role as I threw up my hands and walked away.
“Hold up,” Jake yelled.
He jogged up to me. It took everything I had to keep my eyes from wandering all over his body.
“Thanks for the game,” I said. “But I have to get going.”
“Okay. You around a few more days? We're having a bonfire on the beach tonight. I'd love to see you later.”
“I’m going to be here a while. And I'll think about it.”
“I hope you do,” he said.
His eyes ran up and down my body quickly. When he saw that I'd caught him, he smiled sheepishly.
“Bye, Jake.”
“Until later, Lacrecia.”
I went back to my villa a little further up the beach. The room was sparse, but the cost was low, which was nice. When I decided to leave Tom, I left a man who was worth ten and a half million dollars. He'd given me a few hundred thousand over the years, but it wasn't going to last forever. I had signed a prenuptial agreement because I thought our love was real and would last at least a couple decades.
The young man I’d met in the beach was in his mid or late twenties, much too young for someone like me. With a body like his, he could have any woman he wanted on the entire chain of islands. Still, I couldn’t help but smile to myself when an image of his abs and biceps flashed through my mind - not to mention his million dollar smile. He was so different than my ex-husband Tom.

Later that evening, after much internal debate, I decided to go check out the bonfire. I think the main reason was that I was so horny and had drank a few shots of Tequila. Tom had been okay in the bedroom, but he was a lot older than me and could never really keep up. And he always treated me like a sexual possession rather than a woman. I was sure a man like Jake could go all night long if he wanted.
As I walked down the beach toward the burning bonfire, I wondered if Jake had a girlfriend. Would he have invited me if he had one? I wondered. And if he didn’t have one, why the hell not? Was he an asshole? The questions were pushed to the back of my mind when I arrived at the ring of people. They were sitting around the fire on logs. I waved my hand in greeting as I approached.
“You made it,” Jake said as he stood up and made his way over.
“I did.”
“You look nice.”
“I wasn't sure what to wear, so I decided on a bikini.”
I did have a sash wrapped around my waist.
“You look fine,” he said, brushing my concerns aside. “Come sit with me. You want something to drink?”
“I'll take a beer, I guess,” I said, not wanting to stand out.
“A woman who drinks beer. I'm in love,” he joked.
We sat next to each other on one of the logs. Several conversations continued around us. He handed me a bottle of some type of beer I'd never heard of before after taking off the top. When I took my first drink, I was hooked. It was strong, but I was ready to let loose a little. Minutes quickly turned into hours as I got to know Jake and his friends. Then the joints started to be passed around. After a dozen or so hits, I had to stand up.
“Want to go for a walk on the beach with me?” I asked, looking down at Jake. “I need to move around.”
He smiled and leaped up. “Yeah, let's go. See you guys.”
Some of his friends waved or laughed as we walked away. I took his hand in mine as we made our way further down the beach. The moon was full. Stars lit up the sky. We walked slowly, neither of us saying anything at first. I was the first one to break the silence, hoping I could steer the conversation to something safe. The alcohol and THC were doing a number on my brain.
“You here on vacation?” I asked.
“Sort of,” he answered, offering nothing more.
I looked over at him. “That's an interesting answer.”
“I just met you, that's all,” he said, a little too defensively. “What about you?”
“I'm here on vacation. I just divorced my husband, and I needed to get away.”
“Just split, huh?”
“Yeah, Tom was his name. He was a multi-millionaire, but he was a prick.”
“Most rich guys are pricks,” Jake said without laughing.
“Seems like it.” I stopped walking. “This is my villa. Thanks for the walk home.”
“No problem. One more for the road?”
“I don’t have any alcohol inside,” I lied, wanting him to leave before things got sexual and I couldn’t resist his fine young body any longer.
“That’s a shame.”
“Maybe I’ll have to pick some up in town.”
“I could tell you where to get it.”
“I bet you could.”
Before the situation got any more awkward, I leaned forward and gave him a peck on the cheek to let him know I was definitely interested in seeing him again. As a young man with a seemingly perfect body, I was sure he wasn’t accustomed to a woman turning him down.
“Goodnight, Jake. Thanks for the good time.”
“Goodnight, Lacrecia.”
I waved on final time then walked inside. After I shut the door, I leaned against it, wondering if I’d made a mistake not getting sexual with him on the first day we’d met.

After she walked inside her villa, I turned and headed back to the bonfire. Once I arrived, I wasn’t really in the mood to stay. I went into the nearby condo a group of me and my friends were renting. While I owned a place further inland, I was avoiding it at all costs, even if it meant hanging out with a group of guys and girls in their early twenties. They were all rich and felt entitled to be assholes or bitches most of the time.
On the way back to the condo, I considered going back to get some slutty woman to come back with me for the night. It had been a couple long weeks since I’d been with anyone sexually. I was ready to go all the way, but I wanted to make sure it was with the right person. At twenty-seven years old, I’d made plenty of relationship mistakes in my life already.
I decided against random sex and headed to an empty bedroom to try to get some sleep. The cold from the air conditioner was nice against my bare skin. After I got into bed, I pulled my cell phone out of my shorts. Lacrecia hadn’t seen me, but I’d taken a short video of her on the beach. She would probably be upset with me for filming it, but she had
clothes on and had been in a public place.
When I tapped the screen and started the video, I found myself attracted to her physically. Not fucking anyone in a few weeks had something to do with it, but the sight of her nearly naked body made my dick hard. I put the video on repeat so that it would loop. In it, she turned and walked away, her shapely ass bouncing. I also managed to catch a quick second of her smiling.
The rest of the condo was empty, so I reached down to adjust my cock. At least that’s what I told myself. Once I had my fingers wrapped around it, I couldn’t help giving it a few tugs. More blood rushed to my groin, making my cock even harder. I tossed the phone to the side of me on the bed and concentrated on playing with myself, something I hadn’t done for at least a year.
My breathing quickened as I really went to town rubbing it up and down. Just as I was about to pop, the door opened. I looked over and saw Todd, one of my buddies. He had his arms around two women. All three of them saw what I was doing and burst into laughter. I grabbed a pillow and placed it over my cock, which twitched, moving the pillow. They laughed even harder.
“Get the fuck out,” I screamed.
They left the door open and walked down the hallway. I heard their laughter in the other room. Pissed as fuck but not wanting to deal with them, I stood, pulled up my shorts, and walked across the room. Their laughter filled the other room as I slammed the door shut. When I returned to bed, I laid on my back and stared at the ceiling. You’re twenty-seven, rich, and in the prime of your life, what the fuck are you doing? I asked myself.
I had no answers. My life was in flux, and I wasn’t sure where the tides were going to take me. The storm had passed, but the damage would last for months if not years. As the Notorious BIG said, more money brought more problems. And unlike Jay Z, a bitch was one of them. Lacrecia, on the other hand, was a ray of sunshine in my life. If I was lucky, I would get to know her a little better before she left the island.
Eventually, I fell asleep. My dreams, as usual, were odd but instructional.

When I woke up in paradise the next morning, I had hope for the first time in a long while. Tom was still on my mind, but as I got ready for the day, I found Jake taking up more and more space in my thoughts. I wasn't ready to dive into another relationship right away. On the other hand, having a little fun on my retreat slash vacation made sense and would do me good.
Dressed in a bikini with a purple sash around my waist, I stood in the small kitchenette and tried to decide what I was going to have for breakfast. Before I came to a decision, I heard a knock at my front door. Not expecting anyone, I walked over to answer it. Jake stood outside dressed only in shorts.
“Hey, you,” he said with a smile. “You’re looking good this morning.”
“Aww. Thanks. I’m surprised you remembered where I was staying. We were both a little drunk last night.”
“I couldn't let a woman like you get away.”
“I bet you say that to all the women,” I said in teasing tone.
“Not all of them.” He said with a wink and a smile. “I'm going to go get some breakfast, I think. Do you want to come with me?”
“Breakfast sounds good. I was trying to decide what to make.”
“There's this small mom and pop place about a mile inland. Not too many tourists know about it yet. They have great breakfast, lunch, and dinner.”
“Sounds great. Give me a minute, okay?”
I turned around and made sure I had everything I needed. Unable to think of anything, I went outside, shutting and locking the door behind me. He took my hand in his as we walked side by side. The views were amazing as we walked on the side of the main road leading to the village. Every once in a while, a car whizzed by without slowing down.
When we made it to the restaurant, which was nothing more than a shack with tables set up around the outside of it, I was a little wary at first. Then the first smells hit me. Bacon. Mmm. Breakfast was my favorite meal of the day. I tried to watch my weight as much as I could because I was over thirty years old, but every once in a while I would pig out on pancakes and bacon.
“Smells so good,” I said, inhaling another whiff.
“Wait until you taste it.”
We each took a seat at one of the few crude, wooden tables. An older woman came up to our table to take our order. She recognized Jake and smiled, patting him on the back like a kindly mother.
“I'll have the usual, Jaylene.”
“Can do.” She turned to me. “And you?”
“Can you do pancakes and bacon extra crispy?”
“Coming up,” she said then walked away.
I looked across the wooden table at Jake. His eyes were so amazing.
“What are you staring at?” he asked.
“You,” I replied.
“Yeah? Well, It's kinda creeping me out.”
“You have a problem with women looking at your fine body?”
“Most women look at me for the wrong reasons.”
“Really?” I was intrigued. “Your body, huh?”
“I wish...”
“What?” I interrupted. “You're hot,”
He smiled as if he heard the compliment all the time. Before it could get more awkward, the waitress returned with our food. While it had been prepared quickly, it tasted great.
I picked up a strip of bacon and nibbled off a small piece at one end. “Mmm. Bacon. So good.”
“They make this type of food for homesick tourists,” he said then put a piece of omelette in his mouth.
“What are your plans for today?” I asked as I buttered my pancakes.
“Probably hang out at the beach and relax. What about you?”
“You read my mind.”
“We should relax together,” he offered.
“Maybe we should.”
I smiled at him then turned my attention to my pancakes, pouring maple syrup on them. We ate, occasionally chatting about something just to keep the total silence at bay. When we were done, he surprised me when he pulled out his wallet and insisted on paying.
“Thank you,” I said sincerely.
“No problem.”
We walked back to the beach together. After finding a quiet spot, we sat very close to the edge in the shallows. Waves of salty water rushed up, covering us a little more before rushing back again.
“I love it here,” I said as I scanned the horizon.
“Me too.”
“This is my first time here.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. What about you?”
“I've been here before.”
“Are you a beach bum or something?” I asked with a laugh.
“You could say that, I guess.”
His foot drifted over and brushed against mine. Our bare skin barely touching send a child through my body.
“I'm down here on the run,” I said.
He looked over at me. “Yeah?”
“Yeah, in a way, I guess. I told you about Tom.”
“The multi-millionaire prick.”
“That's him all the way. But enough about him. Let’s talk about you. What do you do for a living?”
“Oh, like I said, a little of this and a little of that. I don't like to talk about myself.”
“Tell me one thing about you.”
“I have two feet and two arms...”
“I know that, silly. I want to know something real.”
“I hate how most women just want me for one thing.”
“That damn sexy body of yours?”
“Yeah, that's it.” He jumped up. “Want to join me for a swim?”
“I'm not much of a swimmer. I think I'm going to head back and get some reading in.”
“Okay. Would you like to have dinner tonight?”
“Please tell me you don’t mean hot dogs at a bonfire.”
He smiled. “You're funny. And no. I was thinking something a little more upscal
e.”
“I'll make sure to dress-up.”
“I can't wait to see you. I’ll be over around dusk.”
He turned and raced into the sea. I watched as he waded deeper and deeper into the water then dove underneath. When he emerged, his back glistened in the sunlight. After a moment or two, I got up and went back to my villa. The romance novel I was reading was a good one, but it was hard paying attention when my thoughts kept returning to Jake and the fact that I'd be having dinner with him later that night.
Would I let him go all the way? His body turned me on, but I had to control my impulses. I was heading back home soon, and I didn't want any loose strings down in the Caribbean – especially if I was going to try to get back with Tom. I didn't really love him, but he would take care of me financially. After graduating college, all I had was a worthless degree and massive student loan debts. I was eventually able to get lost in the story.

When Jake showed up later that night, I answered the door in a nice white sundress I’d bought locally. He nodded his head and smiled as soon as he saw me. I leaned forward and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
“You ready to eat?” he asked
“I'm starving,” I answered as I shut and locked my door. “Where we going this time?”
“There's this place that has great steak and lobster in town. We'll have to take a moped to get there.”
I looked around. “Where are you parked?”
“Not too far away.”
We walked to his moped, which was in nice condition. He gave me the only helmet hanging from the handlebars. After he got on, I slid on the seat behind him.
“Hang on tight,” he said as he started up the engine and took off.
He didn't need to tell me twice. I wrapped my arms around him tightly, feeling his rigid, hard muscles with every move he made. His body was so amazing. When the moped sped up and headed inland, I grabbed him even tighter. The night air made me feel alive as we headed toward the city lights in the distance. We arrived at an upscale building about ten minutes later.
“We’re here,” he said as he turned off the engine.
