My Endless Love Page 5

by Megan Brooks

Megan couldn’t help but give a whistle at the sight of her coming out in the skimpy little black number. It looked fantastic on her, and that was saying something since, after the skinny dipping incident, Megan had seen her naked.

Megan herself was wearing a one piece. She had a rather nice body, but showing it off made her a little self conscious. The way Angelina’s eyes roamed her when she took off her tank top and shorts rather helped boost her confidence.

They went out to the beach and laid out a towel. Since it was a residential area, there weren’t too many people on this particular stretch of beach. At least that would make it difficult for the private investigator to sneak up on them.

They laid out on the towel to help each other with sunscreen. It was an explicitly flirtatious act now. Angelina’s hands lingered on the curves of her body and tops of her thighs. They ran down her with a tender lightness that made Megan think of the bedroom. Tomorrow would be her last full day in Spain. If she was going to sleep with Angelina, she needed to decide that soon.

She helped Angelina with her own sunscreen, though it was much lighter. Angelina was so much darker than she was. They sat together on the beach for a while, side by side. Megan was a bit paranoid and kept looking around for Lucas with his camera. She never saw any sign of him, though. Either he wasn’t there or he was a better private investigator than she had given him credit for.

“I’ve had fun,” said Megan, nudging Angelina’s leg with her knee.

Angelina smiled at that. “Me too.”

“I just…” Megan hated to ruin the mood, but she couldn’t help it. This was bothering her. “I’m not really used to one night stands or, I guess, one week stands. I kind of hate to leave.”

“You could always come back,” Angelina suggested, looking over at Megan with a surprisingly serious expression. “You go home, divorce your husband. Go on another vacation with the money you get from the divorce. Come back here. I’ll be waiting on you.”

Megan laughed. “Then what? I just live in Spain from now on?”

Angelina shrugged. “I don’t know. Would you want to live here?”

Megan looked around at her surroundings. They were so gorgeous. “It doesn’t really matter, does it?” she asked. “I have a job back home. I have a whole life there.”

“That’s understandable,” said Angelina, sounding unsurprised.

“Well,” Megan began, knowing what she wanted to ask but uncertain as to how she wanted to ask it. “Would you ever consider moving to the US?” It seemed like that was a rather forward question. She was moving too quick for someone she hadn’t even slept with yet. Even so, she had to, didn’t she? They didn’t have very long left together? If they were going to explore their options, they needed to do it now.

“I’ve never been to the US,” Angelina admitted. “I have moved around a lot, though. She looked a little taken aback by the question. I don’t know.”

“Forget I asked.” Megan stood, all too willing to change the subject. “Let’s go swimming.”

Angelina didn’t seem upset by the question, but she didn’t argue with her. They raced each other out into the surf and spent the rest of the day goofing off. It was fun. They swam for hours, occasionally going back to sit on the beach or head inside for drinks and snacks.

It was a good day… until Megan spotted a familiar shape off in the distance. She nudged Angelina and pointed it out to her. “Is that who I think it is?” she asked.

Angelina squinted. “I don’t know,” she admitted. “Could be.” She leaned over and gave Megan a kiss on the cheek.

Megan pulled back and glared at her. “Not in front of the camera,” she hissed.

“Relax, it’s just a kiss on the cheek.” Angelina apologized anyway before they both headed back into her house.

Despite the apology, Megan was still a little perturbed. This wasn’t helping her make her mind up about Angelina. Was she just trying to tease her or was she really just manipulating her?

Regardless of what he intentions were, Megan’s mood was killed. She headed home after that. She didn’t even offer Angelina a goodnight kiss when they parted ways.

The next day was even harder. She had made plans with Angelina, of course. Now she was really uncertain, though. Should she even keep them?

Megan supposed that if Angelina was really in cahoots with the private investigator, he had plenty of footage to work with by now. What did one more day matter? No one liked feeling stupid or used, but she couldn’t quite bring herself to avoid Angelina now, when she was so close to leaving for home again.

Angelina met Megan down at the bakery. She had been waiting for a bit, and there was concern on her face when Megan came down. “I was starting to think you’d gone home already.” She went to Megan and wrapped her arms around her. “What was the hold up?”

“Sorry. I’m just feeling a little down today,” said Megan. That was partly the truth, at least.

“Aww.” Angelina looked genuinely saddened to hear that. “Is it because it’s your last day here? Don’t worry, I’ll make it absolutely amazing. I have plans.”

Megan put her helmet on and let Angelina drive her off toward some undisclosed destination.

The further they went, the more she started to recognize. Finally, she realized just where Angelina was taking her. They were going to the place where Angelina had first given Megan a tour.

Angelina led the way inside without a word. She offered Megan a hand over the harder to traverse bits. Megan really didn’t need the help, but she took her hand anyway. She was led to the prettiest cavern in the cave, where Angelina had apparently gone ahead and laid a picnic for them.

As down as Megan was, she couldn’t help but smile. “It looks gorgeous,” she said, because it was. It was the single most romantic looking thing anyone had ever done for her.

“You deserved the best for your last day,” said Angelina with a wink. She went on ahead and sat down on the blanket. “No tours today. We have the whole cave to ourselves.”

Angelina had packed a lunch of sandwiches and wine. It was all very simple but nice. Everything tasted delicious and, afterward, Angelina pulled out a wrapped box.

Megan stared at the box for a long moment. “You didn’t have to.”

“Of course I did.” Angelina shoved the gift off on Megan.

As much as she had complained Angelina didn’t need to get her anything, she was smiling when she unwrapped the gift. It was a simple thing, like the blouse she had gotten Angelina had been. It was a simple woven bracelet. It wasn’t really her style, but Megan had a feeling it had a deeper meaning.

“We’ll both have one.” Angelina held up her wrist, showing Megan an identical bracelet there. “That way, we can look at it and think of each other while we’re apart.”

Megan held her wrist out so that Angelina could tie the bracelet on. It was a sweet gesture but tears were stinging her eyes. She was about to say a proper thank you when an odd sound drew both of their attention.

Both women looked up and listened closely. There was silence at first then the dull rhythmic sound of shoes walking on rock. It was unmistakable. They weren’t alone in the cave.

  “What’s that?” asked Megan.

“Well, sound carries in here. I’m not sure-”

“Are you working with the detective?” Megan couldn’t keep her concerns in anymore. She had to blurt them out. She drew her arm back from Angelina, her heart pounding in her chest. Angelina just seemed so unconcerned about him when he absolutely terrified Megan.

Angelina looked at Megan, her eyes wide. “What?” she asked, sounding genuinely confused. “What would you… Oh my God, Megan. You don’t think I’ve been setting you up this whole time, do you?”

Tears were spilling from Megan’s eyes now. She could only shrug.

“Oh, sweet heart.” Angelina leaned forward and took Megan into her arms.

The sound of someone dropping something startled th
em both away from one another. Angelina held a finger to her mouth then stood. Silently, she walked toward another passageway in the rock. It looped back around to the one they had taken in. There were some gaps in the rock where she would be able to see whoever was in the cave clearly.

Angelina came back a moment later. She was nodding that, yes, it was the private investigator. She motioned for Megan to hurry and help her pack their picnic. They did so quickly and quietly. The whole time, it sounded like Lucas the investigator was creeping closer. Likely, he was looking for some good vantage point to get a shot of them without them noticing. He hadn’t had the best luck with the cave before now.

Both women hurried into the adjacent cavern. Megan saw him through a gap in the rocks. The man already had his camera poised. He was keeping low and close to the rock. What? Did he hope to catch them holding hands on their way out or something? Tough luck there.

It took a bit of climbing. Fortunately, under Angelina’s tutelage, Megan had gotten better at that. They both made it out of the cave a short hike from the motorcycle. Angelina was all smiles as she hurried toward it.

They passed a small car on the way. It wasn’t built for off-roading and looked more than a little out of place. It was definitely the private investigator’s car.

Angelina stopped beside it and reached into her pocket. She pulled out a pocket knife. “Would you like to do the honors?”

Megan gaped at her. “Angelina,” she gasped. “We can’t do that.”

“Oh, come on. The guys a scumbag.” She shrugged, though, and started to put the knife back in her pocket.

“Wait.” Megan couldn’t hide a smile. She reached for the knife and knelt down. She had never punctured a tire before. As it turned out, it was pretty easy. She did it to all four. “At least this way maybe we can enjoy our last day together.”

Laughing, they continued on to Angelina’s motorcycle. It was a thrill to drive off and leave him behind, none the wiser. Megan felt the wind all around her, she felt free. Megan’s adrenaline was pumping by the time they got back to Angelina’s house.

“Well, that didn’t go quite as planned,” said Angelina, swinging her long legs off of her bike. “I had a whole day of that planned. I guess we can go swimming again. Sorry, it’s not quite as exciting as what I had intended.”

Megan shook her head. She was still riding the high of what had just happened as she climbed from the motorcycle. “Today has been… interesting.”

Angelina gave her a critical look. “You really think I was just spending time with you to set you up, though? You think I work for your husband or something?”

“No,” said Megan, but that felt too much like a lie. “Well, I mean, I didn’t know. How could I? We don’t really know each other that well, do we?” She looked up at Angelina, searching her eyes for an answer.

Angelina raised a hand and cupped the side of Megan’s face. “I’d hoped you knew me a little better than that.” She leaned in and pressed a kiss to Megan’s forehead. “You’ve really been hurt to think everyone is just out to get you, huh?”

Megan glanced down, a bit embarrassed when it was put like that. Angelina wasn’t wrong, though. Clearly, she did have some trust issues.

“I get it,” Angelina added quickly, as if uncomfortable with the sheepish response she got from Megan. “That’s understandable. I’m sorry I did anything to make you feel that way. I like you a lot, Megan. I’ve never met anyone quite like you before.”

Megan had never met anyone quite like Angelina either. She didn’t say that out loud. She just kissed her. They kissed for what felt like ages and, somehow, not nearly long enough.

“Do you want to come inside?” Angelina asked, quietly, when their lips had parted.

Megan didn’t give the matter a second thought. She nodded her head. She knew what going inside with Angelina right now implied. Suddenly, in that moment, she wanted nothing more.

They went straight for the bed, already shedding clothes as they went there. Angelina’s shirt hit the floor, then Megan’s. Their pants went next. They were pulling at each others under garments by the time they tumbled onto the mattress.

They had already seen each other naked, but this was different. They had a chance to explore each other’s bodies without the pretense of this being simply friendship now. Angelina’s hands roamed Megan. She traced her slight curves and squeezed her breasts. Megan moaned. Angelina felt so soft against her. This felt different than anything she had ever tried with Richard. This felt right.

“What do you like?” Angelina whispered, her breath hot against Megan’s ear.

Megan gave an involuntary shiver. “I don’t know,” she admitted.

Angelina scoffed at that. “You don’t know?” she repeated. “How can you not know what you like? You really have been neglected.” Awaiting no further instruction, Angelina ducked down between Megan’s legs.

There was some initial embarrassment when Angelina parted her thighs. Megan got over it as soon as she felt Angelina’s warm tongue, though. Richard had only ever gone down on her once. That had been on their wedding night. It had been sloppy and wet then. She hadn’t much cared for it and didn’t miss it when he never did it again. This was a different animal all together.

Megan squirmed on the mattress, mouth open but soundless. The way Angelina’s tongue traced shapes and probed deeper… It was unlike anything Megan had ever experienced before.

Angelina pulled away all too soon. She went up to kiss Megan instead. Her right hand moved where her mouth had been. Angelina’s fingers rubbed at Megan instead. It was like an assault on her senses. Megan was already on the brink of an orgasm, and she hadn’t even done anything for Angelina yet.

Megan brought her hands up to Angelina’s body. She ran her fingers over her naked form, taking in the shape of her. Angelina, in turn, was rubbing her faster and faster. It was almost too much to take until- Instead of feeling ashamed that it had happened so soon, Megan surrendered herself to the climax. It washed over her in waves. She rode them, savoring the pleasure.

“Want to go again?” asked Angelina, looking down at Megan with a knowing smile. That had been some of the best sex of Megan’s life, and she knew it.

Megan shook her head, which seemed to take Angelina by surprise. Megan nudged her back and sat up. “My turn,” she said, descending on Angelina. She had never gone down on a woman before, but she imagined she could wing it.

If Angelina’s squirming was any indication, Megan was doing a fine job. It took longer. She stayed down there for quite some time but hardly minded. This was fun. Tonight was the most fun she had had all vacation, and that was saying something.

Megan finally pulled back to rub Angelina as she had rubbed her. Angelina’s hand went down to join Megan’s own and guide her. Together, they brought Angelina to an orgasm of her own.

They both laid together for a while after that. They caught their breath and listened to the soothing sounds of the ocean outside. Megan stared up at the ceiling and the walls. She saw pictures of Megan with other women. They were all pictures of her smiling and hugging people Megan didn’t know and hadn’t heard about. Were they all tourists? Had Angelina done this with girls before her?

Megan pushed that thought from her mind. What was the point in worrying? She might as well enjoy what little time she had left with Angelina. “I’m going to miss you,” she said with a sigh.

Angelina put an arm around Megan. “I’m going to miss you, too,” she said, rolling over onto her side to kiss her. “You have to visit… And you have to divorce your husband.”

Megan laughed at how blunt she was about that. “I guess that is pretty much a given at this point, huh?” Megan hadn’t thought about it explicitly yet. She hadn’t entirely decided what she was going to do as soon as she got home. At this point, what else could she do, though? She wasn’t happy with Richard. Being with Angelina here in Spain had made that abundantly clear. As soon as she was home, Megan decided she would put
a separation into progress.

After that, Megan wasn’t so sure. Running off to live in Spain wasn’t an option. Maybe, after her husband was out of the way, they could begin some sort of long distance relationship, though. There was no rush. They could get to know each other better then decide what to do from there.

In the meantime, Megan was going to savor every moment she had left.

They swung by a movie theater on the way home. Megan was a bit confused at first. She was tired, and it was much too late to watch a movie.

As it turned out, there was a photo booth at one corner of the building. Angelina parked next to it and led Megan inside. “We could just take pictures on my phone,” Megan laughed as Angelina fed the machine entirely too much money for a few lousy pictures.

“Not the same,” Angelina insisted. With the money inserted, she leaned back and put an arm around Megan. The camera flashed. Angelina kissed Megan on the cheek. The camera flashed again. She worked through several poses, until the machine was done. With that taken care of, they just waited for their pictures.

The pictures weren’t great. Angelina looked gorgeous in them, but Angelina always looked gorgeous. “Oh, wow, I look so bad,” Megan laughed at the pictures. The flash had washed out most of her color. “Geez.”

Angelina forced the pictures on Megan anyway. “Something to remember me by,” she said with a grin. “And incentive to come back soon.”

Angelina wanted to spend the night, but she had work in the morning. If she stayed with Megan, they would have definitely had sex again. Megan insisted that it wasn’t worth it. Besides, there was a decent chance the private investigator would have fixed his tires by now. If he spied on them tonight, well, that would be pretty damning.

Angelina was reluctant to leave, but she did in the end. That wasn’t before a lengthy and passionate goodbye. They kissed one last time - and, again, it didn’t seem to last nearly long enough.
