“Yeah?” I raised my eyebrows. “Is that the future talking?”

“Partially. But I can also just tell they’ll get along.”

“I thought so too when I first met her.”

Ash and Seth came home a few hours later with all three kids in tow. By then, Dani became relaxed enough with Raum that she sat next to him while he read a book to her. She was so entranced by the story, she didn’t notice the others coming in until Raven walked right up to her.

“Hi, my name’s Raven. That’s my favorite book. Do you like it?”

Dani glanced up at Raum before nodding hesitantly.

  “I’m Dani.”

Brax pushed past Raven at that point and stuck a small cupcake in Dani’s face. “I made cupcakes today! Do you want one?”

“Guys, give her some space,” Raum chided gently.

But Dani reached out and accepted the cupcake from him, handling it as if were the most precious treasure.

  “Thanks. I love cupcakes.”

Deidre offered a polite introduction before heading into the kitchen to help Sal with dinner.

Ash, Seth, and I watched our youngests’ interactions with Dani from across the room while I filled them in on her ability. My heart felt near bursting with pride and love at how Raven and Brax took the shy girl under their wings. My two lovers on the other hand, watched with fascination as if this was some kind of curious experiment.

“I’d like to read her shadows if possible,” Seth said. “Her subconscious might tell me more.”

“Just go easy with her. She’s a bit skittish for good reason,” I told him.

He nodded and walked over to where she sat in a pile of books and toys that Raven kept pulling from the shelves to show her.

“I have a few theories about her.” Ash leaned down close to my ear. “But first, I believe you and I have some unfinished business.”

  CHAPTER FOUR

I grinned, pressing my ass into Ash’s crotch where his thick erection greeted me.

“Were you sporting that during your entire class?”

“I had to stand behind the damn desk for the entire lecture,” he growled, pulling my hips back against him.

“Oh, Sal,” I called a in a singsong voice. “Can you help me and Ash upstairs? Raum can finish dinner.”

“Oh, that is so not fair,” Raum groaned, glaring at me. “You know I can’t cook my way out of a paper bag.”

“I’ll help you, Dad!” Deidre piped up.

“You got this,” Sal quickly kissed Deidre on top of her head. “Show him how it’s done.” He ran over to Ash and I at the base of the stairs and practically barreled into us.

Raum and Seth’s glares at our backs felt like targeted lasers as the three of us clamored up the stairs, but I wasn’t concerned. They would get theirs.

“Are you punishing him?” Ash asked with an amused chuckle as he took a gratuitous grope of my ass now that we were out of sight of the kids.

“Yes.” I paused to kiss him, deep and full of tongue. “He and Raven are still ganging up on me in the morning and making us all late. I’m tired of it.”

“He’s going to get you back for this,” Sal grinned, his voice low and full of warning as we all stumbled through the master bedroom. With a flick of my wrist, I used the element of Air to close the door and slide the deadbolt into place.

“I know.” I shivered at the thought of what Raum would have in store for me. He and Sal usually had me together. Ash preferred me to himself but became more open to group fun in recent years. Seth was always up for anything. I had no doubt Raum would recruit him in punishing me for excluding him.

I both craved and feared what he would do to me.

I turned to Sal and kissed him deeply, heat and passion already burning through my veins.

“I’ll deal with Raum later. Right now I want both of you.”

My angel and my lion didn’t need to be told twice. Clothing flew off as if by magic. In the next instant I was sandwiched between two of the hottest male specimens on earth. Hot skin and hard muscles pressed against both my back and my front. Fingers held onto my hips with iron strength and drifted across my body as if touching me for the first time.

I could hardly tell where Ash ended and Sal began, one of the things I loved most about my men sharing me. The sensations of touch heightened so much and never stopped— pleasure had no limits. All I could do was lean back and let hands and mouths tease my body into a frenzy.

Ash’s beard made me shudder as he kissed along the sensitive skin of my shoulders, my nape, and upper back. In contrast, Sal’s smooth face kissed a searing hot trail down my chest, dragging his tongue and nibbling softly where he knew I was the most sensitive.

When Sal’s mouth reached my hip bones, I turned to face Ash, capturing his mouth savagely as I pushed him toward our bed. He followed my lead, walking backward until he sank down, and I settled between his muscular thighs.

My tongue traced the sigils on his chest, feeling the heat and pulse of them in time with the same sigils on my back. Those sacred symbols connected us to each other, to Lucifer who gave them to us, and to the demon homeworld of Hell.

I kissed lower, taking my time and relishing in the feel of his abs as they flexed and relaxed with each hitch of his breath. Ash was my first love and the most possessive of me, an oddly human emotion for a fallen angel. Even so, I liked to spend extra attention on him when one of the others joined us.

I lifted my eyes to his as I took the base of his cock in my fist. His icy eyes were hooded with desire as he gazed at me, fluttering closed as I delivered my first stroke up to the crown and back down again. He looked so incredibly sexy propped up on his elbows, shoulders and abs flexed, and tilting his head back with soft moans as I focused on his pleasure.

Just as I took his round, swollen head in my mouth, Sal reminded me just how fucking turned on I was. He pressed his palm to my vulva, hiked up in the air and on display as I knelt over Ash, and let out a hot groan of approval.

“Soaking wet,” he rasped, moving his hand in lazy circles to spread my wetness. “So beautiful. She loves pleasing you, Ash.”

I moaned around a mouthful of cock. Sal’s hand felt so good on the building heat and pressure between my legs but it wasn’t nearly enough. I was aching and empty, desperate to be filled. My back arched, sending my pussy up higher in a silent plea. Sal chuckled behind me and took his hand away. I groaned in frustration which turned into a shriek and a whimper when Ash took my nipples between his fingers and pinched the incredibly sensitive peaks.

In that moment, a tongue probed my slick, tender flesh, and I ground so hard against Sal’s face I thought I might drown him.

“Greedy girl,” he pulled back and murmured. His arms wrapped around my thighs as he licked and sucked me like I was his last meal. My lion loved to please, and I knew he was hard as a rock just from tasting and feeling my wetness.

“Are you going come all over Sal’s face, my love?” Ash cupped my chin, making me look at him as I bobbed up and down on his concrete shaft. Fuck me, just hearing that question nearly pushed me over the edge.

“Mm-hm,” I said, still slurping at him greedily.

“I want your mouth full of me when you come,” he ordered. “I want to feel your scream of pleasure on my cock.”

Sal’s tongue zeroed in on my clit, and it took just a matter of seconds. I swallowed more of Ash’s length down my throat, eager to obey him. I loved his dominance, a completely different flavor from Raum’s. Raum loved mixing pain with pleasure and drawing out my orgasms in long, torturous ways.

As the highest ranking of my three demons, Ash was their commanding leader. He ruled with quiet confidence but when he gave an order, you had no choice but to obey. Even humans could feel the authority and power radiating off him. And he made me wet just by telling me what to do.

For usually being so eager to please, Sal seemed to enjoy drawing out my orgasm as long as possible. His tongue tapping on my cl
it had me dancing on the edge of a cliff before pulling away. He did that at least three times before I was a shaking, quivering, desperate mess. Despite my overwhelming desire and frustration, I didn’t dare remove Ash’s cock from my throat. His groans, twitches, and further stiffening in my mouth told me he thoroughly enjoyed the muffled whimpers Sal’s torture elicited from me.

Finally, Sal pressed two fingers inside me, providing just enough delicious fullness, when combined with continued pressure on my clit, to send me hurtling into a mind-numbing orgasm. I took Ash deeper than I ever had as lightning bolts of pleasure wracked my entire body.

Lightheaded and delirious with euphoria, my mouth suddenly became free, and I found myself staring at the ceiling.

“I take it you enjoyed that, my love?” Ash pressed sweet kisses to my cheeks, making it almost seem as if he were a different person from the one who just rammed his cock down my throat.

My blissed-out expression must have told him enough. He grinned wickedly as he stood from the bed and pulled my thighs toward the edge to wrap around him. As he lined up to enter me, I realized that was one of the things I loved about these demons so much. They acted damn filthy in bed, but they loved and cared about me beyond what any mere mortal could.

My gorgeous fallen angel slid into me in one fluid stroke, stretching me out so deliciously my back arched off the bed. In the next moment, his hand was there to support me and he pulled me up to face him.

“Hi, angel,” I smiled, wrapping my arms around his shoulders.

“Hello, my love.” He pulled me forward so my legs fully enveloped his waist. His thrusts grew shorter as he nestled deep inside me so I was never empty of him.

For a few moments, just the two us of existed in our passionate love making. My fingers threaded through his hair as our skin seared together as if becoming one body. Our lips and tongues melded together, telling a thousand-year-old story that never got old. Our love story.

When my next orgasm convulsed around him, it forced his own release into me. He braced his arms on the bed as the pleasure shuddered through him, filling me up just a little bit more before he began to soften.

“Now that was just lovely to watch,” Sal grinned from where he laid back, relaxing on the bed. “Felt like I was on an artsy, romantic porn set.”

“Don’t give her any ideas,” Ash smirked, still breathing heavy as he padded his gloriously naked self to the master bathroom suite. A second later, the shower turned on.

“I didn’t mean to exclude you, lion,” I said, crawling across the bed to where Sal stretched out, just as glorious and naked in his own right.

“It’s alright, beautiful. I know how you two get.” He slid an arm across my back and played with my hair as I draped across his chest, still panting. “Besides,” he nuzzled my ear, “you said earlier you wanted me to yourself.”

“And I still do.” I absentmindedly traced the battle scars across his lean, muscular landscape. “As soon as I catch my breath.”

“Oh, I may be patient, but I’m not that patient.” He playfully shoved me off him and rolled over on top of me, pinning me to the bed.

“What has gotten into you?” I huffed, my skin prickling with need despite barely recovering from the last session. “I swear Raum is rubbing off on you.”

“Just preparing you for what’s to come.” He leaned down close, his lips hovering a hair above mine. “It’s trick-or-treat season after all.”

“Damn you,” I growled, my voice becoming muffled by pillows as he flipped me onto my stomach, pinned me beneath his hard body, and then entered me in one savage thrust.

Despite his fearsome warrior’s bloodlust and temper, Sal was the least aggressive and gentlest in the bedroom. My mind reeled with the discovery of this new rough, dominant Sal as he held my hair in his fist, pressing me down into the mattress as he fucked me, his teeth on the back of my neck marking me like an animal.

  But my body loved it.

The orgasms rolled into each other as I screamed into the pillow, and he just fucked me harder until he emptied himself with a final deep thrust. A roar rumbled from his chest that I knew was his lion speaking.

I rolled onto my back, gasping for breath, to see Ash leaning casually against the wall, a towel around his waist and droplets of water clinging to his skin.

“Feels like I’m on a hardcore porn set,” he laughed.

  CHAPTER FIVE

“We found out more about the girl while you three were… cleaning the pipes upstairs,” Raum said with his knowing smirk.

The five of us adults sat around the kitchen table after dinner, the guys with either beer or whiskey and me with an herbal tea blend I concocted myself.

The kids had gone upstairs to wind down before bedtime, with Raven and Dani acting like two peas in a pod. She let out a big “YAY!” when I suggested sharing her room with Dani for the next week or two.

“You want to share your room with me?” Dani asked her in disbelief.

“Duh, you can tell me all your ghost stories!” Raven bounced in excitement. “Deidre’s stories are boring.”

“Um, no. They’re just richly detailed!” Deidre shot back.

Once we finally made it through dinner and shooed them off upstairs, I was eager to find out what Seth and Raum had learned.

“She only sees the dead around the time of Samhain,” Raum began. “She said her visions become stronger during the month of October, then begin to fade starting in November.”

“I saw a small amount of Reaper heritage in her shadows, but I don’t think she knows about it, or even what a reaper is,” Seth added. “If her parents abandoned her, they definitely weren’t accepting of her abilities.”

“A reaper in what sense?” I asked. “Are we talking about a guide to the afterlife or the personification of Death itself?”

“The former,” Seth replied. “Truly neutral immortals who reside in neither Heaven nor Hell, but merely guide souls to where they need to go.”

“How often do you see a witch with reaper heritage?”

“It’s more common than you think. Reapers are attracted to humans because they all have some mixture of angelic and demonic qualities. It’s pure angels and demons they don’t really get along with.”

“I don’t blame them,” I mumbled into my tea cup.

Sal gasped in mock horror. “How can you say that after all the fun you just had?”

“None of that erases the fact that you’re all huge pains in my ass sometimes.”

“That can certainly be arranged.” Raum bit his lip while looking directly at me.

  Lucifer save me.

Ash cleared his throat. “So her abilities are only apparent around Samhain, when the veil between worlds is thinnest. And she’s not even trying to communicate with these souls, she just sees them attached to the living?”

“That’s right,” Seth confirmed. “It’s an impressive power for a six-year-old. If she continues to develop her talents, she could become an incredible medium.”

“Hope so,” Raum chimed in. “I’m tired of seeing humans without an ounce of real magic whatsoever pretending they can speak to the dead. This girl can set those fakes straight real quick if she gets enough practice.”

“She needs an adoptive family that will accept and encourage her strengths,” I agreed. “Not abandon her or try to suppress her abilities because they’re afraid of them.”

Dani’s tumultuous journey in her short life struck a chord with me. She reminded me so much of my young self in this lifetime. I didn’t even know I was a witch, let alone a rebirth of the Mother of Witches, until well into adulthood. My own adoptive parents were dogmatically religious and tried to raise me in that environment as an attempt to “cure” me of any magical abilities. They never abandoned me, but they never accepted me either.

“Are there any families in Voluspa with similar abilities?” Sal swiped a gulp from my tea and returned it faster than I could blink.

  “Astrid would kn
ow,” I answered. “That’s her specialty. If there’s a suitable family, or even single parent who’s a good match, she will find them.”

“How awesome is Raven, though?” Raum leaned back, crossing his arms in satisfaction. “She’s normally so shy around kids her age, but they’re acting like sisters already.”

“Brax, too,” Sal added. “I didn’t hear him grumble once today about being the only boy. I think he has a crush.”

“Meanwhile, Deidre called me Hitler today,” I sighed.

“Hold up. What?” Seth demanded. “I need to hear this story.”

All of them laughed as I recounted the story from this morning. All except Ash, who sat back, a smug grin pulling at his mouth.

“Just over a thousand years ago, our eldest daughter was illiterate. You should be grateful,” he deadpanned.

“Well, two out of three good kids ain’t bad,” Raum chuckled into his whiskey.

“She has a point, though.” Seth locked his stormy gray eyes on me. “No offense, sweetheart, but you’re kind of a hardass about the whole Halloween thing.”

  “It’s not Halloween,” I growled. “It’s Samhain.”

“We know, baby,” Raum patted my thigh, and I couldn’t tell if he was being genuine or making fun of me. I glared at him just to be safe, and he just smiled.

“We should let them dress up and trick-or-treat this year,” Sal continued. “There’s more families with kids in Voluspa now than when we created it ten years ago. It’ll be good to create a sense of community.”

“Not only that,” Ash jumped in, “but it’ll help Dani feel included and not so different from everyone else.”

Everyone else chimed in their agreement and looked to me for the final decision.

“I’m okay with this, to a point,” I agreed with caution. “As long as we teach them the real meaning and origins of Samhain. It’s their culture, and I want them to at least be aware of it before other people starting coming in and rewriting it.”
