“Hmm, you don’t say.” Vixen giggled. “Since we just slept together, I’d say it’s a safe bet.”
“You little…” Jasper tickled her, and she squealed, slapping at his shoulders. Then she grabbed a pillow and smacked him with it. They rolled around and around on the bed, having a pillow fight.
“Okay, enough!” Jasper said, holding his hands up. “You got me. I’m pleadin’ for mercy over here.”
“You deserve it for that stupid mistake comment.”
“I’m not livin’ that one down, huh?” Jasper groaned.
“Nope.”
“Sorry. Sometimes I’m an idiot.”
“Yeah, you are.”
“You didn’t have to agree with me.” Jasper playfully swatted her on the ass.
“Sure, I did.”
“So, we’re together, right? This isn't just friends with benefits.”
“No, it’s a lot more than that.”
“Okay, good talk.”
Vixen giggled.
“Now, we just gotta get out of this alive.”
She winced. “Aside from the Simon and Rodriguez issue, we’ve got one more problem to solve—Dix and Byron.”
Jasper smirked. “If it helps, I think everybody knows about us. They’ve been talkin’ behind our backs.”
She rolled her eyes. “That’s not what I meant, Jasper.”
“They’ll never find out. We’ll take this to the grave.”
“Bad choice of words.”
“We’ll worry about it later. One problem at a time.” His mouth settled over hers. She leaned into him, welcoming his kiss.
Afterward, he tucked her against his body. “Now get some shut eye. We’ve got a big day tomorrow.”
Chapter Twenty-Three
I’m losin’ my mind.
They’d left for Dallas before daybreak, and the city was roughly a three-hour drive from Crimson Creek. Jasper took the wheel, while Vick sat in the passenger seat. Once again, they’d taken her vehicle.
The rain came down in sheets, lightning split the sky. The horizon was filled with dark rumbling clouds, and they were driving right into the storm.
Sweet Jesus. I hope this ain’t one of those omens.
The weather wasn’t the only problem.
Jasper should be concentrating on the long winding, rain-soaked road ahead of him. Or the song and dance he’d have to do to convince Rodriguez, but he couldn’t stop thinking about Vixen.
About fucking Vixen, to be precise. After so many years of shoving down his desires, his lust had been unleashed, and it threatened to overwhelm his good sense. She called to him, compelled him.
His cock had gotten hard, pressing against his fly, pulsing to life, as though it had a will of its own when it came to Vixen. A healthy dose of angst also fueled his lustful thoughts. There’s no guarantee this last-ditch attempt would go their way. A little release would go a long way in easing some of this dread.
Vick wore a V-neck blouse, blue silk, which showcased the pale mounds of her large breasts. Beneath she wore a demi-cup bra. Jasper had watched her get dressed this morning. Her tits bounced as he drove. Damn, if he couldn’t stop hitting potholes just to watch them jiggle. And he didn’t give a flying fuck about the front-end alignment.
Distractin’ as hell.
She kept moving her legs together, pulling the edges of her skirt down. It was a nervous habit of hers. Her legs were bare, one draped over the other. As he pushed the SUV into a higher gear, Jasper placed a hand on her thigh.
“Take off your top.”
“What? Here?”
“Why not? It’s just you, me, miles of open road, and the fadin’ moon overhead.” The sun wouldn’t be up for nearly an hour. So far, they’d only passed two cars.
“I don’t know, Jasper.” But her pupils dilated, swallowing the blue centers. He could see the flush on her cheeks, starting to spread down her neck.
“I’ve thought about fuckin’ you lots of times when we’re out drivin’.”
She huffed a breath. “You have?”
“Fuck, yes, and then I’d go home all alone hard and achin’.”
“Even when we went to Houston the last time?”
Jasper groaned. “You already know the answer to that one.”
“Yeah, but I want you to tell me anyway.”
“I’d rather show you. Now unbutton your blouse.” He squeezed her thigh.
A bolt of lightning cracked above them, adding to the electricity already in the air.
Vick shivered. They both liked it when he took sexual control of her. She slowly opened her shirt, baring her breasts to his hungry gaze.
Jasper admired the view. “Good, now lift them over the cups.” There’s something erotic about being half-dressed, he loved the urgency.
Vixen complied, the soft, white mounds shook even more on their new precarious perch. He hit even more bumps in the road watching as they bounced for him.
He lifted his hand from her leg and squeezed Vick’s breasts. Jasper tweaked the nipples until they stood hard.
Fuck. I should film that in slow motion and watch it every night.
“Now spread your legs.” She opened for him. “Good girl. Take your panties down. I want them down around your ankles.”
Vick shimmied and scooched on the seat as she wriggled out of her drawers.
As soon as her panties hit the floor, Jasper stroked her stomach and then the line of her thighs before he pressed a hand between her legs. Wetness greeted his palm. She wanted this, too. He felt like fucking crowing about it.
She gasped, head lolling to the side as he teased her, tracing the lips of her sex, pushing a finger inside. Jasper fondled her clit, light little touches designed to inflame. And she squirmed, arching into his hand. When he pulled his hand away, his fingertips glistened.
He pressed a digit to her lips. “Taste yourself.”
Vixen sucked his finger and damn if he didn’t think about putting his cock in her mouth. Not an option in a moving car. Another time, perhaps.
After pulling his finger free, Jasper trailed it down the line of her throat, over the trembling curve of her breast, circling a nipple. Both of them stood at attention.
“We’re going to play a game.”
“Hmm?” She blinked.
Jasper chuckled. “A game, let’s see which one of us can hold out the longest.”
“What…?” She shook her head and the dazed look faded. “I’ll win.”
“Don’t think so, Vixen.” Competition fired his blood and only got him more excited. Somehow, he thought they’d both win.
Jasper pinched a nipple, and she inhaled sharply.
“Victory is at hand.”
“That so?” Vixen slowly reached for him.
“What are you doin’?”
“Bringin’ it, Jasper.” She traced the line of his cock, which strained against the zipper.
Fuck me, she fights dirty.
“Didn’t say you could touch me.”
“That’s hardly fair.”
“I’m a mobster, Vixen. Did you expect me to play by any rules?”
“Guess not.” Yet Vick didn’t remove her hand. And he couldn’t summon the will to push it away.
Jasper grunted and tried to keep his hips still, but it was no use. He dry humped her palm as he forced himself to keep his eyes glued to the road, instead of the enticing sight of her. He had trouble concentrating. His balls ached and his cock hammered against the denim, eager to be unleashed.
“Know what?”
“What?” he gritted out.
“I work for the mob, too. Guess the rules don’t apply to me either.” And then she undid his fly.
“Oh, shit.” A breath hissed between his teeth. Somehow, this game had gotten out of hand, and now he was the one being played.
“Right now, I’m thinkin’ about you pullin’ over to the side of the road.” Vick leaned over, pressing a bare breast against his arm. He wanted them in his hands, then he’d
slide his cock between them, come all over the nipples, and rub it into her skin.
“Yeah? And then what?”
“Your cock slammin’ into me.”
Oh, the visual alone.
“What would you be doin’?” He grunted.
“Gaspin’ for breath, needin’ you inside me. Maybe beggin’ you to—”
“That’s it. Can’t take it anymore.”
Jasper screeched to a halt, then he went off-roading until they reached a copse of trees. Once he’d driven behind them, Jasper flicked off the lights, slammed it in park, jumped out of the SUV and rounded the car. He opened the door and grasped Vick’s arm.
“Hurry!” Vick was every bit as out of control.
Jasper didn’t give a shit about the thunderstorm surrounding them, the hard rain pouring down on their heads, soaking them to the bone.
He grasped her from behind, then peeled the rest of her clothes off—leaving her naked. The rain sluiced over her pale skin. She was a sight to behold—lush, wet, and wanting. Vixen gave these little gasping sighs as he kissed the perfect line of her back, smelled her hair.
He cupped her pussy. “Mine.”
She shivered.
“Say it, Vixen.”
“It’s yours. I’m yours.”
“Fuck yes.” Jasper groaned. “And now I’m takin’ what’s mine.” He opened the trunk and then bent her over the bumper. Jasper smacked her rounded ass until it turned pink for him.
Jasper undid his jeans and pushed them down around his ankles, along with his drawers. The tip of his cock had flushed an angry red. Jasper felt too raw, too irrational. He wanted to put his come inside her, flood her with it.
And then he realized something.
“Aw, hell, I don’t have a condom with me.”
“I don’t care.”
Thank God. I don’t either.
He teased himself, pressing the head against her silken pussy. She was tight, squeezing him, and this time the sensation wasn’t blunted by rubber. Jasper placed a hand on the small of Vixen’s back and pumped into her from behind.
“Harder.” She arched back.
Jasper gripped her arms, pulling them behind her back, and thrust furiously. She was like a doll, her body moving as he did. There was something primal about the image of pulling her onto his dick like this.
Jasper plunged in balls deep, filling her all the way up. Every now and then, he slipped a hand beneath her hips, finding her clit. Vixen gave these sexy little moans, crying out for him as he pounded her.
Her legs shook, and then Vixen keened, howling her release. With a groan, Jasper crashed into her one last time and came, flooding her hot little cunt with his semen.
Chapter Twenty-Four
Jasper’s phone buzzed. “You in position?”
Vick had texted him from the car. Since Simon prowled around the courthouse, they thought it best if she stayed out of sight. They’d finally made it to Dallas, and Jasper was already at the courthouse.
On the way there, he’d stopped at a rest area so they could both get cleaned up. Jasper didn’t regret their rendezvous on the side of the road. It’d eased his stress level, and Vick seemed more relaxed, too. Now, they could both concentrate on the task at hand.
Another text. “Jasper? What’s going on?” Okay, maybe she wasn’t that relaxed.
“Yeah, I’m here. Waiting on Rodriguez to take a piss.”
“Gross. And don’t worry, I found the perfect diversion. Text me when you get him in the bathroom. Meanwhile, I’m gonna play around with their security cameras and erase our presence here.”
Vick was providing technical support on this mission. She had her laptop and a Wi-Fi connection in the SUV. Earlier he’d taken pictures of the FBI agents escorting Rodriguez so she could identify them.
“Will do.”
Jasper had stolen a security guard uniform from the staff lounge. The polyester beige eyesore was loose, but it’d work. He set up fake guard duty on the third floor of the courthouse, where the trial was located.
The place was crowded with reporters and family members eager to see justice done. Jasper kept his head down and tried his best to blend in. Every now and then, he walked by the courtroom so he could hear the proceedings and sneak a peek.
Rodriguez was a short man in his early forties with a mustache and short black hair. For someone who’d supposedly killed dozens of people, he didn’t appear so threatening. Neither was his protection detail. All three FBI agents were wet behind the years, probably straight out of Quantico, which is undoubtedly how they’d been assigned this shitty job.
Jasper glimpsed Simon earlier. The smug bastard was smiling as though he didn’t have a care in the world. Jasper couldn’t wait to wipe it right off his face.
After four hours of hanging around, the judge declared a short recess and Rodriguez was taken to the men’s room by a blond haired male agent.
Vick said the fed's last name was Wexler. Jasper texted her and strolled over to the bathroom door where another agent stood guard.
The man stepped in Jasper’s path. “Use the bathroom down the hall.”
“Are you kiddin’ me? I gotta take a piss, man.”
The agent glanced at his uniform and heaved a sigh. “Fine, but make it quick.”
Jasper sailed past the first checkpoint. When he got inside, Rodriguez was being patted down by Wexler.
What the fuck? In case he’d picked up any weapons in the hallway?
Wexler glanced up but paid him no mind when Jasper picked a urinal a couple feet away and unzipped to keep up the pretext.
Vick replied. “On it. Agent Wexler has a home security system. This is going to be fun.”
And then Wexler’s cell went off, a rapid-fire set of whistling text messages. He checked the screen, a frown forming on his face.
Then Wexler got a call.
Jasper schooled his features into a blank look and tried his best not to laugh.
“Hey, man?” Wexler asked.
“Yeah?” Jasper glanced over.
“Hey, I gotta take this. Can you keep an eye on him?” He nodded to Rodriguez.
“Sure.” Thank you, Vixen. Now, he just had to act fast.
Wexler walked a few feet away, pacing as he listened to Vixen who had his undivided attention. Jasper had no idea what she was up to, but Wexler looked worried.
“Hey,” Jasper whispered to Rodriquez who grunted in reply. “I need to talk you.” He kept his voice low and even.
“Leave me the fuck alone. Can’t a man take a piss in peace?” Rodriguez hissed the words.
“Hear me out.”
“Look, I ain’t been in prison long enough to settle for cock, so you can just—”
“It’s about your lawyer.” Jasper kept an eye on the agent.
Wexler was occupied. “Hold up. What kind of alarm went off? The smoke and the carbon monoxide detectors? Is there some sort of malfunction?”
“What about him?” Rodriguez asked.
“He ain’t doin’ such a good job, huh?”
“What’s it to you?”
“We both gotta problem with Simon.”
“Do we?” Rodriguez asked.
“Simon’s after my friend.”
Recognition dawned. “The Crimson Creek girl?”
“Yeah. She don’t like Simon, and neither do I.”
“So? I don’t give a fuck.” Rodriguez turned away.
“You should. He’s been sidetracked lately and your case ain’t goin’ so hot. You’ll get the death penalty if you’re convicted.”
“What do you want?” Rodriguez zipped up and walked over to the sink.
Jasper trailed after him. “Call off your guy.” He made a show of washing his hands, hoping the water would further muffle their voices.
“Why would I do that?”
“Simon needs to get his head back in the game.”
Rodriguez smirked. “Seems to me he’d be just fine, if the girl was his. Or if she was out of th
e picture altogether.”
Oh fuck. Men like Rodriguez wouldn’t think twice about shooting an innocent woman.
Jasper glanced back at Wexler, who’d just ended one phone call. Another cell in his jacket pocket went off, probably his work phone.
I could kiss Vixen. “Or, there’s an easier solution.”
“Like what?”
I’m runnin’ out of time. He wouldn’t get another shot at Rodriguez, so he had to lay it all on the line.
“Or, I could take care of your lawyer and then we’d both be happy. If he were to have an, er, accident, you’d get another attorney and a new trial.”
Rodriguez didn’t say anything, but his eyes widened.
Jasper rubbed the back of his neck. Sweat had pooled between his shoulder blades. Wexler was still yakking on the phone, but the call could end at any moment.
“How do I know this isn’t a set-up?”
“You don’t, but it isn’t. I’m riskin’ a lot to talk to you. This is one of those win-win situations. If you don’t retaliate against me or mine, I can make both our problems go away.” Jasper snapped his fingers. “Like that. What do you say?”
After a moment, Rodriguez nodded. “Then we have a deal, but if you don’t clean this up, and I mean make it fuckin’ squeaky clean, I’ll have my guy finish it. And it’ll be spotless by the time he’s done.”
“I’ll take care of it by the end of the day.” Jasper would see to it personally.
Wexler ended his latest call.
“He’s all yours.” Jasper nodded to him and then walked out.
All he had to do was kill Simon. Vixen wouldn’t be happy with this plan, but there wasn’t another way out of this.
***
“Mr. Wexler, I’m lookin’ at my computer screen, and I’ve pinpointed a malfunction with your system. They were just false alarms. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience, but we’re going to give you a credit on your next bill for fifty dollars.” The agent give her an earful, but she cut him off. “Whoops, my other line is ringin’. I have to go now. Goodbye.”
And then she hung up.
Vick snickered. Sometimes, my job is too much fun.
And then her cell buzzed. “It’s taken care of. I’m headed to the parking lot. See you in a few.”
