“Sure, Calia.”
She gave him a dirty look, but thankfully, went straight to her room across the hall and let herself in. The walls rattled with the slam of her door, but at least she’d left him alone.
“Never again,” he muttered, closing the door. But as he leaned against it, goosebumps broke out over his skin. Despite the hallway and the two doors between them, he could hear Calia laughing like a lunatic. Or like someone who thought she held all the cards.
