Going Gypsy Page 19

by David James

G-pa Larry and Miss Kathleen for letting us boomerang to your ranch to write our first draft. BAMF looked mighty fine parked out by your horse barn. Thanks for the nourishing muffins quietly left at our BAMF-step and allowing us into the house for your company at dinnertime.

Northern Ontario for remaining moose-less so as not to distract us while we wrote our second draft.

David’s mom for her thoughtful thoughts on the manuscript. And for allowing us to turn her into a caricature that she is really not.

Michael J. Willis for maintaining his composure while we contemplated our mortality.

Yvette Grant for making us look good on the page. Nick Grant for pointing us in the right direction. Bill Wolfsthal for talking us up. And Nicole Frail and Marianna Dworak—well, you know what you did.

  About the Authors

David was born in Wichita, Kansas, and grew up on the prairie and in the mountains of Colorado. He made his way in the music business as a performer, recording artist, songwriter, and radio personality in Nashville, Tennessee, and St. Croix, US Virgin Islands. After parenting and sending three kids out into the big wide world, he currently lives with his bride of thirty years, Veronica, in a state of perpetual motion.

Veronica was born and raised in Southern California and was like, totally, a Valley Girl. Against any sane person’s better judgment, she ran off with a musician at age eighteen. After procreating, she became Earth Mama, then Helicopter Mom, hovering over every detail of her Spawn’s lives. She has held approximately thirty-three different jobs including writer. She is never bored.
