Love Interrupted Page 14

Walking across the room to him, I slipped my hand into his free hand and pulled him away from the window.

Looking down at me with a questioning brow, he didn’t skip a beat with the caller on the other line. Leading him out of his office, I walked us into his bedroom and let go of his hand.

Turning to face him, I lifted my shirt over my head and tossed it on the floor, quickly followed by my jeans. Standing in front of him in my matching bra and panties, I heard his voice hitch as he eyed my body while carrying on his conversation.

  Damn, he was good.

Lifting his shirt up, I exposed enough skin for me to lay a wet kiss right above his navel. Feeling him twitch I moved closer, making sure my lace covered tits brushed against this cock. Kissing and licking, I made my way north as I brought his shirt up.

Silently, I was daring him to keep the conversation going while I teased his body. It felt incredibly naughty to be seducing him as he spoke work on the phone. I know he wanted me, I could see it in his liquid blue eyes as he watched my every move.

Feeling empowered, I knelt before him, and made quick work of his jeans. It took only moments to get his cock freed and in my mouth.

Licking and laving, I loved his taste. He was steel wrapped in velvet.

Feeling his free hand sink into my hair, I twirled my tongue around his head as I mouth fucked him. Knowing he was going to end his call soon, I ran my hands up his thighs and took him in as far as I could.

Hearing his phone hit the floor, I felt both his hands sink into my hair roughly.

“Fuck Shayne…you drive me fucking insane.”

Deciding to prove to him he had no idea what insane was, I proceeded to give the most intimate, physically demanding blow job of my life. I might have pissed him off with my bitchy attitude earlier, but I sure as could fix it with my hungry mouth.

Kneeling before him in my bra and panties, I wanted to show him what he meant to me. I couldn’t say it; nor could I agree to move in with him but I could give this. This was my language, I just prayed he spoke it.

Just as I thought he was ready to come in my mouth, he jerked out of me and hoisted me over his shoulder. Tossing me on the bed, I bounced with a gasp as I locked eyes with him.

“You want my attention now?” He asked, standing at the edge of his four post bed.

Nodding, I crooked my finger at him, “I want all of it.”

Growling, he crawled on the bed, right over top of me. His touch was rough, not mean, but hungry. Wrapping my leg around his hip I arched into him and bit his lip as his hard cock grazed my wetness.

Moaning against his lips, “Fuck me Cameron, your girlfriend needs you.”

“She fucking better.” He growled, nudging the tip in, teasing me.

  “Please.” I begged.

Flexing his hips, he buried himself in me in one smooth thrust.

“Oh shit!”’ I gasped as he filled me. Breathing hard, I clawed at his shoulders as he pulled back and took no mercy.

It was clear my lover needed to work out some anger.

  Okay, baby. Let’s do this.

Meeting his rhythm, I matched his touch, his hard kiss. Pushing back for control, we battled together as we fucked. I don’t think I had ever experienced anything so intimate or raw. It was an unspoken war between us, but one of desire and need.

Arching underneath him as I came, “Oh God Cam, yes, fuck me...”

As soon as I was done coming, he pulled me off the bed and pressed me against his window and continued to fuck me. Digging my hands into his dark hair, my body came alive under his touch. Completely under his spell, I melted into him as he took us onto another level.

After what seemed like an hour of soul baring sex, we laid breathless on the bed together. Turned into him, my body was molded against the side of his. I was completely fucking exhausted, mentally and physically. I had come so close to soothing his soul by telling him I loved him, but pulled back at the last minute.

You can’t love someone after two weeks, right? Okay, technically I had known him for years, but you got the point. Shit, I was a goner.

  Cameron

Watching Shayne talk to Anna across the room, I took a drink of my beer and pretended to pay attention to the story Ashton was telling my dad, Chris and I. It was hard to pay attention when I heard Shay’s voice across my living room.

Shayne’s brother and his girlfriend Anna had landed on time this evening and were scooped up my Miles as planned. They had been taken to Shayne’s, which actually belonged to Anna’s parents. Shayne made sure she was over there when they arrived, which meant I was too.

We helped get them settled into the house and came back over while they refreshed from their flight. Chris and Anna came over to my place an hour later, ready for drinks and their first evening in the French Quarter.

My lovely little sister Addie and her fiancé Ashton had come over, as well as my parents. Shayne had bounced back after some sleep, and turned into the most enchanting hostess I had ever seen. She walked around my house barefoot in her black dress, getting drinks and feeding everyone.

I think what struck me so hard, was how easy this was. It was easy to have her in my space, on my yacht, in my house. It was easy to have her acting like the woman of the house tonight, and it had been more than easy to introduce her to everyone I knew at the gala as my girlfriend.

“Hey, come with me outside for a moment.”

Looking up at my dad, I saw him watching me, as I watched Shayne.

Nodding, he and I excused ourselves from Ashton and Chris, and went out to my balcony together. I knew if my father was asking for a moment alone, he had something profound to say. Usually these little talks were about our businesses, or politics, but I knew this one was about a petite little woman inside the house.

Taking a drink of my bourbon, I walked over to the railing and leaned against it and waited for the old man to talk.

“So tell me where your head is at Son.”

I couldn’t help me grin into my liquor.

  Like father, like son.

I did the same thing to Shayne when I wanted to pick her brain, I asked questions first before I spoke. I had learned it from him, it was my dad’s technique- he used it on all his kids.

“About Shayne?” I cut to the chase.

“Of course. Your mother and I are worried.”

  Immediately upset, “Why?”

With his no bullshit personality, he laid it out there, “Because we don’t want you to screw this up Cameron.”

  Ah, there it was.

  Lowering my head, “Dad…”

“No Cam, this time you are just going to listen. I’ve talked your siblings through hordes of relationships, but not you. You always kept women at arm’s reach, close enough to get what you wanted but never kept any of them around. So, when you go to zero to sixty in the blink of an eye, you’re going to gain our attention.”

“We talked at the gala about her, I already promised you I wasn’t going to hurt her.”

“Not intentionally, no. I want to talk to you about Lana.”

Whipping my head up, I stared him in the eyes. This is not where I thought the conversation was going to go, “What about her?”

Yes, she had been pissing me off lately, but she was loyal to me, and Carmichael Industries. My family had always disliked her, right from the start. She had been the subject of quite a few arguments between me and my parents, and siblings. In fact, she was the only thing I ever fought with them over.

“Son, you are a grown ass man. I don’t think I should have to do is tell you this, but since you clearly don’t know how females work, I’m going to.”

Yeah, I could already tell I wasn’t going to be a good conversation.

“Just say it.” I stated. It was my dad; he was one of the few people in the world who got to talk to me like this.

Pointing at Shayne inside who was laughing with Addie, “If you want that one, and you want her for your forever, you are
going to have to do something about Lana. A woman like Shayne isn’t going to just accept Lana’s role in your life.”

“Lana doesn’t have a role in my life Dad.”

“Bullshit Cameron Jameson Carmichael. She has known you since college, I’m confident you’ve even slept with her. She is a member of the board of directors at your company, and she is always at your side. She has whittled her way in between you and people before, she’s done it to your own family Cameron! Don’t tell me she doesn’t have a role, you just never put a label on it.”

Leaning my head back I took a sigh, “I’ve never slept with her Dad.”

“Well thank the Lord for that.”

“I will admit, she’s been different since Shayne came into my life, and even more so after I introduced Shayne as my girlfriend.”

“She knows she’s losing you. I think she’s stuck around in hopes you’d see her as your wife someday. We’ve all seen how possessive of you she is.”

Shaking my head, I took a drink, “I’ve never seen her like that, ever, nor have I ever led her to believe there was anything between us, or would ever be.”

Putting his arm around my shoulder, “You know a woman with Shayne’s past is going to have problems with women being close to you. Lana pushes that line more than anyone I’ve ever known. You can have women work for you Son, hell, they can even run your company, but you cannot have one of them act like she owns you..”

  “Shayne hasn’t said anything.”

Chuckling, “Oh, really? She didn’t say anything about how she had to watch Lana crawl over you on the bridge while the fireworks were going at the gala? Because we all saw it. You let her stand here with her arm around yours, leaned up against you like she was your date. All while your date stood with your family, damn near in tears. That is why she left Cam, she was utterly embarrassed that her boyfriend had a another woman hanging all over him like they were lovers.”

“Yeah, I guess she did tell me that part. Other than that, it hasn’t come up again.”

“It is time to put a stop to it Cameron. The only woman that should be touching you like that, is the woman you’re falling asleep to every night, period.”

  He was right.

“Reverse the roles Cam, put yourself in her shoes and pretend you had to watch one of her employees rub all over her, or hell, imagine her ex giving her fuck me eyes all night, how would you feel?”

  “Like committing murder.” I muttered.

“Son, you are going to do as you see fit. You always have, and historically you’ve had great success. However, this is new territory for you. I wanted to bring this to your attention before you go any farther with Shayne. If you can’t or won’t deal with Lana, I can tell you Shayne won’t stick around.”

He was right, again. I had been avoiding the issue, and Lana all together. The woman had become a major issue, and worse, she was trying to tear Shayne and I apart. I wasn’t a fucking idiot. I could see the start of it last Friday when she met Shayne. Lana was jealous, and threatened by Shayne.

“Thank you Dad. I needed to hear that.”

“Your mother and I want you to be happy kiddo, whatever that looks like. That is all we’ve ever wanted for our children. Shayne is special, I know you know that. I also know you would have come to this conclusion about Lana all by yourself, probably after some shitty fight she created between you and your girlfriend.”

“I was getting there already. She’s been a pain in my ass lately, I assumed it was just the stress at work. Come on, let’s go have another drink with them before we head down to Jud’s.” I said, nodding towards the rest of them inside.

With more than a few drinks, and even more shots behind us, the music played through the house played as I watched Shayne and the ladies. I saw her look back and smile at her brother more than once. She was more than happy he was here.

Chris was all she had left. She straight up refused to talk about her mother- which I was still didn’t know why. Yet, I hadn’t pushed, nor did I want to ask Chris either, it was my puzzle to solve. If Shayne wanted me to know, she’d tell me.

Standing beside me, Christopher Montgomery leaned up against the kitchen island next to me like old times. I had known Chris well before I met his beautiful little sister.

He and I had been stationed together in Yemen many years ago. Straight out of college I had gotten a bug up my ass to join the Army. Absolutely emerging myself into the military, I rose up the ranks quickly. Her brother and I had gone on at least seven separate missions together, ranging from Yemen to the Ukraine. He and I had been through a lot together, seen a lot of things and did things on those missions that still haunted our dreams till this day.

It was still a little unreal that I was dating his sister.

“I wish Jud and Eli were here, I haven’t seen them since Sunday!” Addie pouted as she raised her shot, and clinked glasses with the ladies. Jud and Addie were close, she always pouted when their scheduled conflicted and she had to go a number of days without seeing him.

“We’ll be seeing him soon love. Jud asked us to give him a few hours to get his club back in order, he’ll be ready for us when we get there brat.” I said as I tossed a pillow at her across the living room.

“Mom! Cameron threw a pillow at me!” Addie shouted, trying to pull Mom’s attention.

Shayne pointed at us, “Children, don’t make me put you in time out!” She teased loudly.

Crossing the room, I lowered my shoulder and lifted her over it and smacked her ass, “Oh I’d like to see you put me in time out sugar! Let’s go before Jud gives away our table!”

Gathering the group, I eventually put my girlfriend down and we walked to Jud’s bar on Frenchman Street.

The ladies walked ahead of us in a group.

Shayne and Anna had their arms linked with my mother and sister. The four of them were laughing about something Addie had said.

Looking at Shayne’s ring finger for the fifth time tonight, it had become a habit.

I wanted a ring on her finger, my ring.

Something had clicked at our last family dinner when I saw her holding my cousin’s little girl. Jesus, if she thought me asking her to move in was quick, she would be floored by my current thoughts.

A ring, and a baby? Jesus Cameron, slow the fuck down.

I couldn’t lie, it did something to me to see Shayne melt into my family so easy. It had done something to me to see her holding a baby, and even more to hear her singing the little babe to sleep before we left. It was like the nail in my coffin.

I wanted to marry her, I wanted her to have my babies.

After that rather blunt conversation with my father, I knew I had some work to do on my end to make sure I could secure her as my forever. He was right, Lana was going to be a problem. I really did appreciate my dad giving me that talk, I did need it.

I should have seen that talk coming, my dad treated Shayne like she was his little princess. My mother adored her to no end, and constantly reminded me of it daily. My brother and sister, well they had already fallen in love with her years before I laid eyes on her. I knew if Sophie was still here, the youngest Carmichael sibling would have loved her too.

Shayne Marie Montgomery was perfect for me, for them, for our family.

Feeling my phone buzz, I took it out of my pocket to see another angry text from Lana.

She was pissed I left the office early. The tall thin southern belle wasted no time texting me exactly how she felt. On top of that, she had less than kind words on how I had been acting lately, and how my work ethic had steadily declined.

I had known the woman since college, but right now she was pissing me the fuck off.

Who was she to tell me what to do? I owned the fucking business, I was her boss!

Taking a page out of Shay’s book, I turned my fucking phone off and slipped it back into my jeans. I was with everyone I wanted to talk to right now in this very moment. I’d deal with Lana on Monday.

  Look
ing back at Shay, she balanced me back out. One simple look at the woman, and all the anger I had felt after reading Lana’s text disappeared instantly.

  Shayne was my home.

Tonight, she had dressed in a long black bohemian dress that fell off her shoulders with simple black leather flip flops. Her long strawberry blonde hair was pulled up in an artful bun of braids and curls that added to her beauty. I loved how she didn’t need to show off her body to look drop dead gorgeous. She saved what was underneath that dress for me.

Oh, and I knew what she wore under there. It was a delightfully naughty, see-through black lace matching set I couldn’t wait to take off her body.

Wearing the diamond studs I had bought her last Friday, she looked perfect.

There was one thing about Shayne that stood out more than anything, she had her own style, and it was fucking adorable. She could go from adorably cute, to drop dead fucking knockout, her range was all over the spectrum.

Since she told me about the baby, I couldn’t stop but imagine what life would have been like if she hadn’t lost our baby. I already regretted the years we had spent apart. I had been stubborn enough to not seek her out, knowing she was in a long-term relationship.

The idea that we could have had a child together made me yearn for just that, a baby.

Walking in behind the ladies, we went right for our normal table. The best seat in the house also happened to be the Carmichael family table, open for us only. Even on jam packed nights, Jud refused to allow anyone to use the table even if we weren’t planning on coming. It was his thing, and we appreciated it. In a city of wall to wall people, it was nice to come here and unwind.

Jud’s musicians were some of the best in the city, he treated them right, and in return they brought in good business. He made sure he had a wide range of talents, from blues and jazz to rock and country. He pandered to his crowd well.

Elijah spotted us the moment we walked in and happily greeted us with his normal jovial self. Jud came out of the back, and properly welcomed Chris and Anna, and then went off to get us drinks.
