  “I will,” he replied. A flash of amber shone in his eyes, his zest for life returning. Soon he would rest, but not yet.

  “First can you get us out of this wasteland?” Embyr asked. “I’m dying for a bath and a hot meal.”

  Smiling, Pia tapped into the power of the void, readying a portal for the three of them to enter. “You’ll have to hold my hand as we pass through,” she told them.

  The trio joined hands and stepped inside the portal, emerging where their journey had begun, at the docks of Lyraeus.
