Dire Cravings: Arctic Wolves Series, Book 2 Page 15

by Tigris Eden

“Aim true and do not miss, dear sister.”

She looked back behind her at the one who’d called her sister. Their eyes were so much alike—the only difference being that one was born of privilege, and the other squalor.

“They seek to keep us apart. You cannot allow this.”

“He comes, he comes now!” screamed her sister.

Like the dark night he was, he cut a line through the soldiers. Some got in the way of his claws, others moved on instinct, sensing their end should they try and stop him. Even the early morning mists were penetrated by his presence. He climbed the hill with no preamble, and made it to the top before she could even draw her bowstring back and position her arrow. In the distance, she could hear her sister scream out in rage. “End him! Do it now!”

  But another voice halted her.

“No, he is to serve another purpose, lay down your weapon and come and find me. I will guide you, but you must leave now.”

The beast’s blade rose swiftly, and as the steel glinted, reflecting her image, she paused in horror. It was not herself she saw in the reflection, but another. The metal struck true, and her life’s blood coated his sword, obscuring her vision of the stranger before her. Pooling ice-blue eyes enraged with hatred stared back at her, but in the blade, she could see hazel eyes wide with fear and sorrow. Who was the woman in the blade? The thought flew swiftly from her mind as she spoke her last words to the beast. “Why, Blue, why?”

Olivia woke, clutching her neck, screaming.

“Shhhh, it’s all right, beautiful.” Blue’s voice did nothing to calm her nerves.

“It was only a dream. Only a dream,” she mumbled into his chest. His smooth chest. She looked up, touching the contours of his face. He’d come back to her. She knew she hadn’t slept for twenty-four hours. How was that possible? “You’ve changed back?”

“Yes, I don’t know how, but I did. Usually, when controlled by the link in my armor, it’s a full twenty-four hours. Something changed that. I don’t know what or why, but I’m thankful. I’m glad I can hold you.” His arms tightened around her shoulders, and Olivia burrowed closer. She pulled in a deep breath, calming at Blue’s masculine scent.

The dream felt real. Too real. She could smell the blood, the sweat. Could taste the fear in the air as men were hacked to pieces. The raw adrenaline threatening to consume her took a toll on her body, and Olivia shook uncontrollably as Blue held her tightly in his arms.

“Something is wrong with me,” she croaked against his chest.

  “No, sweet. You’re just crashing.”

She didn’t want to crash. She wanted to be in charge of her body. The events leading up to her nightmare had all been out of her control. Olivia wanted to take it back, wrangle her fears, and face whatever storm was coming head-on.

And she knew just where to start.

Blue knew the moment Olivia’s intent changed. She went from scared to lustful. The air in the room vibrated with electricity, and before he could try and stop her, she kissed his chest. Her full lips stroked the heated skin of his flesh until he groaned.

  “Olivia, you don’t need this.”

What she needed was to come down from the rush riding through her veins.

“Don’t tell me what I need, Bödvar. Not now.” She playfully nipped his chest before soothing it with the stroke of her tongue. She tested him on everything. Disagreed with him at almost every turn and questioned his methods. She was topping from the bottom, and she didn’t even know. He’d been nice, even compromising in their situation. He’d wanted to introduce her to his brand of play slowly. Tossing her into the fire headfirst would send her running into the night for sure.

“Olivia, I said no,” he growled in warning.

  That got her attention.

“So now I’m willing, and you don’t want it?” Olivia sniffed as if she held back tears.

“I never said that. I want you all the fucking time, but there is a time and place for everything. Stop trying to control the situation. We need to talk about your dream. Did you dream of the Arrow?” Blue pulled her farther into his lap. Both her legs straddled his waist. The heat of her pussy seared his skin even through her clothes. She wore flimsy yoga pants. Gods. Why couldn’t he control himself? Control was his first, middle, and last name. “I want to hear about your dream.” Blue kissed her forehead gently.

“There isn’t much to tell. There was a battle. Men were dying, and then I woke up.”

  “That’s it?” he asked suspiciously.

Olivia hesitated before planting her forehead against his chest and shaking her head.

“No, that’s not it, but I don’t want to talk about it.”

“We need to. This is important.”

Her muffled voice tickled his chest.

“Later, I need to calm down first, wrap my brain around it.”

“Olivia, that isn’t going to work. I need to know what you dreamed about. I’m not doing this to be mean or even pushy. It matters. The Arrow has the power to destroy those I have come to care about.”

“Why are you pushing me? I need a minute.” She tried to move away, but Blue moved his hands from her shoulders to her waist. He tugged her none too gently on top of his raging hard-on. Her head snapped up, and her eyes shifted up towards him in a glare. “You sure you want to talk, Blue?” She swiveled her hips. Blue growled, gripping her hips to hold her still. When she grinned at him, he almost lost it.

“People’s lives are at stake, and your heat isn’t going to dissuade me. When you’re ready to grow up, I’ll be in the kitchen making you breakfast.”

Blue didn’t give her a chance to respond. He made his exit towards her kitchen. Fuck. Why couldn’t she understand the severity of the situation? He knew she didn’t understand his world, and the fact that she’d been tossed in wasn’t anyone’s fault. She did have a point. Somehow, she’d been a part of this from the beginning. He couldn’t piece it all together, but he knew that Anna was dead. How had the Hunters gotten their hands on another Seer? He needed to make a call. Get some answers. Blue was surprised to see that Olivia had a landline. Picking up the phone, he dialed the number to Red’s.

  “Yes, who is this?”

  “Varangian.”

“It’s good to hear your voice,” Red said over the line. Her voice still held the seductive siren’s call he’d used to enjoy hearing.

“I need you to get a meeting set up with the local Pack here. Call Callum and his brother, Will. I have a bit of a problem.”

“The twins don’t come to Red’s anymore,” she offered up.

  “Why the hell not?”

  “Things are different.”

“How?” he growled. The twins took care of most of his money, and the affairs of the club he owned in New York.

“They just are, Bödvar. Things changed after you left. Callum and Will were miss-managing the club. I take care of things now.”

The way she said the words had the hair on the back of his neck rising in anger. Growling into the line, he bit out, “Have Taylor pick us up in an hour.”

  “As you wish, Bödvar.”

“Olivia, get dressed, please. Plans have changed.”

From the back, he could hear her scuffling around. Go and talk to her. Soothe her. Shit. He needed to do something. They still hadn’t talked about her dream. Blue made his way back to her bedroom and saw her sitting on the bed with her arms propped up by her elbows on her knees and her head in her hands.

“I’m being unreasonable, I know. But you must understand. I’m used to being in control.”

Something he was all too familiar with.

“Olivia, I’m not an idiot. I’m very observant of the things around me. It’s in my nature. You’re the same way, and I don’t want you to change. What I would like is for a bit of compromise. Especially with what’s happening now. You’re not of my world. I get the hesitation, but I would never put you in harm’s way.” Blue knelt in front of her and pulled both her ha
nds into his. “Beautiful girl, I promise you this will all be dealt with, but right now, can you tell me about the dream?”

  Reluctantly, Olivia nodded.

“Like I said earlier, there was some sort of battle. I was there on a hill, but it wasn’t me. Yet it was. The person was her own person, but when she looked at her reflection in the blade, it was me she saw. But that wasn’t the fucked-up part. The part that had me waking up in sheer terror was you.”

  “Me?”

“Yes, because you took your sword and sliced it through my throat.”

Words he had not expected to hear. Olivia could tell by the look on his face. She had more information, and kept the conversation going. “There was also a voice on the wind. It kept telling me to find it, and not try to kill you.”

“You were trying to kill me? Did you recognize the voice?”

“No, although one of them was the me-not-me woman’s sister. She kept referring to me—her—as her sister. The other voice, like I said, was carried on the wind. It told me to lay down my arrow, that you would serve another purpose.”

“I don’t know what any of this means, but together, we can find out.” Blue pushed back the hair that had fallen onto her forehead. “I’m sorry about earlier. I know this is hard for you. I’ll remember that going forward. But you should trust me, Olivia. Can you do that?” His fingers brushed across her thighs, and Olivia shivered. The man was completely naked and comfortable in his own skin.

“Are you going to put some clothes on?” Olivia asked breathlessly. Blue leaned forward and nuzzled her neck.

  “Not yet,” he growled.

“I thought we were leaving.” Her head fell back to give him more access. Blue took full advantage, rising from his kneeling position to tower over her. He cupped both of her cheeks, caressing her with his thumbs.

“Taylor won’t be here for another hour. I wanted to take you to Red’s and introduce you slowly to my kind of bonding. But I can’t hold back anymore. For the next hour, your body belongs to me. Don’t say no, Olivia, say yes. Submit, and I promise to bring you nothing but pleasure.”

She swallowed audibly, because, well, what else could she do or say? Should she nod yes, or shake her head no? She knew exactly the kind of pleasure Blue could bring. What would be different from the last time they’d indulged?

  “Submit to you?”

“Yes, only to me. In this room, in this one thing. Submit to me, Olivia.” His voice dropped an octave, and the accent she’d become accustomed to hearing floated into her ears, caressing her from the inside out.

  “And outside of this room?”

Blue tilted his lips up into a devilish grin. “We can argue”—he tipped her head back and kissed the underside of her jaw—“we can even fight. Because I have no doubt the make-up sex will be phenomenal.” Blue’s lips traveled to the other side of her jaw and up to her ear where he whispered, “But in here, beauty, in here, you belong to me. And I to you.” Her body shivered at his words. “Will you give in? Surrender your luscious body as well as your soul to me?” he questioned.

Olivia nodded her head, but it wasn’t enough.

  “I need the words.”

  “Yes,” she whispered.

Blue dipped his head lower until their gazes met. “Louder, so I can feel it in my dick,” he said against her lips.

“Yes.” Her affirmation was loud and clear.

Blue moved his hands to the collar of her shirt and, in one smooth motion, ripped it from her chest. Her protest died on her lips when he latched on to a nipple through the lace of her bra, soaking the fabric with his mouth. Heated licks of his tongue made her wet between the legs. Olivia tried to reach out to touch him, but he stopped licking and tsked. “No, sweet. No touching. Not right now. If there is anything that I do that you’re uncomfortable with, all you need to say is stop. And everything is done. We’ll talk about why you didn’t like it and try something new.”

“Okay.” Was he trying to scare her? Because if so, it had almost worked. Why would she need to say stop?

With deft hands, he undid her bra and clasped her hands in front of her before looking wildly around the room. “My place would have been better than yours, but we can make do.”

  Make do? With what?

“Blue?” Olivia asked out loud. Unsure what he’d meant, she watched as he made quick work of her yoga pants and underwear.

  “Don’t move, stay there.”

He moved away, taking her bra with him. She turned and watched him tie one end of the lingerie to her bedpost and left the other end free. What in the world? Blue’s erection fascinated her as she watched him walk towards her; his gaze made her shiver with anticipation. She had an intense need building in her gut as she followed his movements. She looked up into his icy orbs and noticed that his pupils were larger, like that of a wolf’s. It made her think of the glaciers in Iceland. She’d never been, and had always wanted to go because the ice caves looked calming. But staring into Blue’s eyes didn’t calm her, it did the opposite. Her heart raced with excitement. Her lungs expanded in rapid succession, trying to get air. Pain and pleasure mixed together with her body’s reaction sent her into a mini panic attack. Olivia didn’t know if she’d swoon or pass out.

Blue stood in front of her, erect and proud. “Hold out your hands and clasp them in front of you.” Olivia didn’t hesitate. She placed her hands on her lap and waited. Blue brought both of her hands up and tied them together with her underwear. “From this moment forward, I own your pleasure. Be in the moment with me, and I’ll reward you. Disconnect…” Blue pulled her arms over her head. His body looming over hers, his knee hit the bed, and Olivia had no choice but to scoot back. A moment later, she realized he was leading her as he secured her tied hands to the other end of her bra strap. He’d effectively tied her to the bedpost. “And I’ll have to punish you.” His fingers slid slowly across the undersides of her arms, over her shoulders, and down to her arched breasts where he pinched each nipple.

Olivia held back her moan as she watched him.

Their eyes clashed in a moment of unabated heat. Blue’s nostrils flared, and Olivia held her breath as she waited. His large body was suspended above her as he held himself balanced on both arms. His cock was directly in line with her mouth. She didn’t normally enjoy giving head, but Blue’s impressive length gave her pause. Are you really thinking about sucking his dick, Olivia? Yes, yes she was. Olivia could see in his eyes that he wanted her to pleasure him. She’d never thought the visual aspect of giving head was something swoon-worthy, but the idea of Blue watching his cock disappear inside her mouth held appeal.

“You want this, don’t you, beautiful?” He eased back, gripped the base of his dick, squeezing it roughly before stroking the length of it. “Answer the question, Olivia. Yes or no? Do you want to suck my cock?”

  “Yesss,” she moaned.

“Good, I’m going to let you because you’re being obedient, and I can tell you want to. I can feel your heated gaze on my dick, and it’s burning me up inside.”

She was glad she wasn’t the only one who felt something.

Blue used the tip of his cock to trace her mouth. The feel of him was heated, but firm. The skin smooth, but rigid with two veins running along the column of his dick. The salty precum coated her lips. He pushed forward, and Olivia opened. She kept her eyes on him as he continued to feed her every inch. The smell of him made her mouth water. She couldn’t put her finger on it, but the combination of his smell along with the gentle glide of his length had her thighs tightening in anticipation. She used her tongue to trace around the rim of his head, savoring his taste. Blue groaned, and Olivia watched as he dropped his head back, exposing his neck. From her vantage point, his muscles were more defined. She loved the way he responded, like he couldn’t get enough of her mouth. She would have used her hands, but unable to, she tensed as she continued to work him with her mouth.

Blue tilted his hips, and his breathing increased as he th
rust forward. His lusty groans spurred on her own need. The thrust of his hips was an erotic dance as she continued to suck him. Olivia increased the rhythm of her tongue, which in turn, increased the rhythm of his movements as things escalated.

“I’m not going to last long, beautiful girl, and I don’t want to come in your mouth. Not this time. I want to mark you, rub my seed into your skin until you smell of nothing but me.”

Olivia moaned at the idea of him marking her. Her body ignited and caught fire. She burned with unspent energy. She wanted him to fuck her senseless, but she couldn’t voice her opinions. Blue had promised he’d care for her, and she trusted him to deliver. When his cock slipped from her mouth, she pulled in a deep breath. “You’re beautiful, Olivia. Amazing.”

Blue slid down her body, the length of his heated dick leaving a trail of moisture as he positioned himself between the catch of her legs. He groaned as his hand reached up to grip her hair, and in one hard thrust, he was inside her.

  “Aaaaahhhhh,” Olivia mewled.

“That’s right, beautiful. Let me hear you.” He pulled back his hips slowly. The tip of his erection pulsed at her opening before he shoved back in. Olivia’s hands were stretched above her head, and there was nothing for her to hold onto. She used her feet to give her an edge as she pushed her hips up into his thrusting pelvis. “Greedy is what you are.” Blue groaned into the side of her neck, driving harder into her. The feel of him overwhelmed her as he continued to move inside her.

“I am,” Olivia whispered into his ear. “But only for you.” She turned her head to the side and kissed the side of his neck. Blue rose above Olivia, gazing down at her. His head descended after something heated passed behind his eyes, then he kissed her.

The kiss was fierce, and his tongue matched the speed of his thrusts. The walls of her vagina were starting to quiver, and her skin felt as if it were on fire. It was happening again. She was losing herself in the moment. A place hot but calm. Light but equal parts darkness as she sank deeper and deeper into herself.

“What’s happening to me?” she cried out.
