No more packing was done that day. Instead, they gave themselves over to being together, savoring the joy they’d found, being quiet in each other’s arms until passion rose again...and again...and again.

A Note from the Author
Mohawk women—women of all the tribes of the United States and Canada—face a very real threat in this day and age. In Canada, a 2014 report disclosed that Indigenous women and girls were overrepresented among missing women in Canada. It was also concluded that Indigenous women were six times more likely to be victims of homicide than non-Indigenous women. In the US, some counties report Native American and Alaska Native women are ten times more likely to be murdered. In 2016 alone, 5,712 cases of missing Native women were reported to the National Crime Information Center...and experts fear that due to reporting and data collection issues, the number is actually quite higher.
In the US, legislation known as Savanna’s Act has been introduced to Congress. It’s named for twenty-two-year-old Savanna Greywind of the Spirit Lake Tribe, who disappeared and then was found dead in August 2017. For its part, Canada has opened the formal National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women to combat the problem as well. You can find out more at www.cbc.ca/missingandmurdered. We ask that you support initiatives to combat this harrowing issue facing Native women.
Thanks so much for reading! I appreciate each and every one of you. Until next time, take care.
Tracy
Acknowledgments
Huge thanks to my niece, Brittany, for making sure I got the cultural values and customs of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe right and brought my attention to the issues facing Indigenous people of the US and Canada. Thanks also to the amazing people I have the privilege of calling family, who inspire me every day. I have to thank my editor, Alissa Davis, for her endless patience and humor when dealing with this grumpy author. And always endless gratitude to my readers, who keep me going.
About the Author
Tracy St. John is the author of science fiction romance, including three bestselling series. The author of over forty books, she also writes paranormal romances. She lives in Georgia with her husband and son, indulging in fun-filled hobbies like fending off mosquitos and running from hurricanes.
Tracy has worked in video production, in front of and behind the camera. She was often cast as the gun-toting bad gal, getting handcuffed in the end. She hopes that hot alien cops will intercept those videos and investigate her for crimes she’d be glad to commit. They can easily lure her into their spaceship with wine, chocolate and promises she can sleep in for a change.
At the age of eight, Tracy wrote her first story. Featuring her dachshund Butch, it was appropriately titled My Dog Butch. It received glowing accolades from her grandmother. Writing has been a big part of Tracy’s life ever since.
Influenced by her love for science fiction and her mother’s enthusiastic insistence that Mr. Spock was one sexy alien, few were surprised when Tracy embarked on writing science fiction romance. Her first book, Alien Embrace, was the culmination of those inspirations. There also might have been some contributions made during a drunken happy hour with coworkers, whose creative suggestions for alien physical attributes scarred Tracy for life. Nevertheless, she honored a few of those suggestions for her books and has felt delightfully dirty ever since.
Tracy is notoriously hard to find, as the rock she hides under looks like all the other rocks in the vicinity. However, readers can track her down at her website at www.tracystjohn.com or her blog at tracystjohn.blogspot.com. You can find her on Twitter, @TracySaintJohn.
