“Be under no illusion. This will be no easy task. Already, many of us have been shot, arrested, imprisoned, beaten or otherwise intimidated. And we are only at the start of our journey. But it’s a journey we must take, for all our futures. Thank you for walking with us today.”

A smattering of cheers quickly grew to a roar as the woman walked away from the mic.

Alice looked at Adam, who smiled back. With the crowd they began to move slowly in the direction of General Worth Square. Adam felt a hand take hold of his and knew it was Alice’s. The crowd, fighting its inertia, reached walking pace and began moving from Madison Square Park along 5th Avenue. There were dark clouds in the sky above and the first few drops of rain.

Alice leant into Adam, squeezing his hand as she spoke softly to the side of his head.

  “Here we go,” she said.

  Praise for Ephialtes:

“The story effectively generates suspense for the inevitable confrontation between the two planets... An absorbing, inventive introduction to Parker’s version of the 23rd century, where politics still reign.”

  - Kirkus Reviews

“For fans of this kind of military sci-fi, there’s every reason to pick this title up. The book is an exceptional example of its genre that does all it sets out for succinctly, but pushes for a full, fleshed-out trilogy as something to look forward to: a trilogy that seems likely to meet expectations. The book oozes quality throughout.”
