Blood Born (The Dark Hills Series Book 1) Page 16

Climbing over top of me, he claimed my mouth again, pinning my arms above me. I panted as he kissed and nipped his way down to my chest. I couldn’t help myself. I drug my wrists from his grasp and pushed him to his back. Straddling his hips. Looking up at me with a mischievous grin, he tugged at the hem of my shirt, lifting it up over my head. And for what seemed like an eternity, he just gazed over my body. Every spot his eyes lingered over burning.

Running my hands up under his shirt, I drug my nails along the perfectly defined muscles of his chest. Leaving him to shiver just a little as I made my way back down to the waistband of his jeans. Feeling unfairly exposed compared to him, I ripped at the white shirt he was wearing, shredding it from his body. I leaned down towards him, kissing along his shoulder, admiring the strength and power that it possessed. Slowly making my way to his neck. He swallowed hard, gripping my ass.

  “Damnit woman.” He growled.

I giggled against the crook of his neck, nipping at it playfully before grinding my hip down onto his, feeling his bulge press against my core.

“You know, while you’re there” He gasped as I kissed his neck again, slowly rocking my hips into his. “It would only be fair.”

I paused, pulling back to look at him, his eyes hooded with desire looking back at me. Setting my whole body on fire. “Yo-ou want me to?” I stammered.

I scanned over the intricately tattooed area at the crook of his neck. God knows I wanted to, hell, I wanted to back in the alley too. An animalistic urge screaming in the back of my mind.

He grabbed a fist full of my hair, pulling my face back down to his neck, a low rumble coming from his throat. “I made my choice, I wanted you. Tell me little blood born, what do you want?”

  Fifteen

  Mine

  AINE~

“Wha-at?” I stammered, struggling a little against him, my scalp aching.

“What. Do. You. Want?” He hissed at me, holding my face down to his neck with one hand, the other clenching my ass, keeping me pinned to him.

I knew the answer, I really did. But I didn’t want to admit it. Dominic nuzzled his face next to my ear, nipping at it lightly.

“Don’t act like you haven’t thought about it. Hell, I wanted nothing more than to see you burn and I still thought about it.” His statement dripped off of his tongue like poison, a poison that I was becoming quickly addicted to. The sound of it pushing me closer and closer to what I knew I wanted to do, making me shutter, quickly loosing what little control I had.

“Come on Aine, I’m on a damn silver platter, go ahead.” He purred, creeping his hand up my back.

“If I do…” I trailed off nervously, again trying to pull away.

“If you do, I’m all yours.”

I swallowed hard at his words, then gently kissed the spot that would hold my mark, everything in me screaming to just do it. Without my knowledge I found my canines already extended, ready to do so.

“Goddamnit Aine, Just fucking mark me, please.” He growled out in irritation.

Without another word, I did. I sunk my teeth deep into his flesh, a feeling of mind numbing euphoria flooding through me, He rocked his head back and hissed, releasing my hair. I felt a heated rush swarm my body and my soul as they completely connected to his, his thoughts becoming my own. Panicking a little, my eyes widened, but I couldn’t pull back. Desperately I looked to him, but his eyes were blissfully closed, taking in the feeling.

Just as quickly as it came on, it leveled out. Letting me finally release him from my bite. I pulled back, looking at the swollen area, watching as the mark solidified into his skin. Paralyzed I stared at it, feeling as though I was high, a million thoughts and feelings racing through my mind. Then, without my own powers, without forcing it, without focusing on it.

A beautiful sound flowed through my conscious, clearer than any other time I had heard it. I heard his voice. Raspy and out of breath even though it wasn’t verbally spoken.

  “Thank you.”

I looked at him, but his eyes were still closed, his head lying back on the bed peacefully. For the first time since the day I met him, I didn’t fear him. I trusted him; I was one with him. I felt like my chest would explode. Slowly he let his eyes drift open, lifting his head to look at me. A wide grin stretched across his face. I smiled back softly, unsure of what to do now, what to say now.

“You did it.” He remarked playfully. “I didn’t think you would.”

I looked down at him helplessly, still regaining any normal thought. “I, em.” I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. “I’ve wanted to do that.” I finished my thought, opening my eyes again.

The amused grin quickly morphed into one that was more wicked. He rolled me off of him, leaning over me almost menacingly. I looked up at him, his hair falling in his face, shielding his eyes a bit. The fresh mark, bright and vibrant.

“Mine.” He growled down to me.

  “Mine.” I replied softly.

Before I knew it, we were in a race to see who could undress the other the fastest. Desperately tearing at each other’s clothes until we found ourselves completely exposed to each other. His hands forcefully exploring my body, lingering every so often when he found a spot I liked.

His lips expertly teasing my flesh in the most erotic way I had ever felt, working his way down lower and lower. Clawing at his shoulders, I begged him to come back, my whole being aching to feel him inside of me, to be one with him.

“Please.” I breathlessly pleaded with him, trying to wiggle away just enough for him to give up. But he didn’t.

Instead, he grabbed my hips, pinning them to the bed. I could feel bruises forming where his fingertips held them.

“You don’t know how fucking bad I’ve wanted to taste you again.” He groaned, biting down on my inner thigh.

I gasped as the pain flowed through my leg. Forcing myself up onto my elbows, I watched as he teasingly made his way between my thighs, brushing his lips and tongue around my slick center. Watching him was breathtaking, every touch was so purposeful and taunting. The very thought of him wanting to taste me was enough to push me over the edge, but watching him do it was on a whole other level.

After what seemed like forever of him dancing around my aching center with his tongue I couldn’t stand it any longer. I whined a little trying to lift myself up to him, but couldn’t and he laughed, shaking his head lightly. Holding me down tighter to the bed, making me yelp.

Once he finally decided I had had enough of his teasing, I felt him slowly run his tongue over my opening, sliding it inside of me ever so slightly. My back arched involuntarily, grateful for the feeling. I felt like I could almost feel the smirk cross his lips as he pulled my clit between them, sucking on it roughly.

My entire body trembled, and I knew I couldn’t hold out much longer, when I felt his fingers slowly slide through my dripping folds, joining his mouth in pleasing me. Leaning my head back, an almost animalistic sound tore from my throat, coming undone around his fingers.

I felt dizzy for a moment as he cleaned me, drinking from me greedily. I blinked over and over, before I could see clearly again. Coming back up to my face, he smiled coyly, dragging his fingers through my wetness, coating them completely in my arousal. I shivered as I watched him lift his fingers to his lips, then licking them clean. I couldn’t stop watching like I was in a trance and he knew it.

“Delicious” He murmured, licking the tips of them once more. Playfully looking at my wide-eyed expression.

“I want to taste you.” I groaned almost pathetically, reaching out to take him in my hand.

His entire body shuttered as I wrapped my hand around him. Groaning, the sound so deep and filled with lust I felt myself shutter. Reaching town to wrap his hand around mine, he narrowed his eyes as me.

“You can have whatever you want.”

  DOMINIC~

The morning sun blazed down across my eyes, causing me to stir. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes
with my knuckles, I looked around. Shocked for a moment at the unfamiliar place I had been sleeping. I rolled over away from the sun, and all the memories of the night rushed back at once as my eyes laid on her.

She was sound asleep with her back to me, the deep maroon sheet pulled up over her legs. Damnit was she beautiful. I rubbed my neck slowly, feeling the soft indent from her teeth. Before I even realized it, I started smiling like a damn fool. I knew that I would have hell to pay once I returned to Sitka with her, but for right now, I felt the happiest that I have felt since I was an adolescent boy.

I reached out and gently stoked her inky hair, pulling it away from her shoulder. Appreciating every mark on her body. I smoothed her hair down on the bed and saw a grey tattoo peaking out from underneath her hair. It was much different looking from the other tattoos that graced her arms. Beautiful flowers and scrolling designs.

Careful not to wake her, I pulled her hair up onto the pillows to expose the back of her neck. What I saw made my eyes feel like they would pop out of their sockets. It was a beautiful oil painting like bust of a wolfs face. It was a bleak grey, much darker than my fur, almost like a deep charcoal, with soulless black eyes. I leaned back, looking like an elderly man trying to read a newspaper. Trying to to place why it looked so damn familiar.

Quickly, I let go of her hair as she rolled over to her other side, now facing me. Holding my breath for a minute, I waited to see if she was still sleeping. She let out a soft snore that was not unlike a bird chirping, affirming that she was still very much asleep. I took a minute to look upon her face. Damnit if she didn’t look so peaceful as she slept.

I leaned forward and kissed her forehead and slid out from the bed slowly. Throwing on my jeans, I stopped to look for my shirt. “Right.” I grimaced, holding up the shirt I had borrowed from one of the other men there at the house. Its tattered and ripped edges hanging lifelessly. “At least it wasn’t my pants.” I grumbled to myself, quietly leaving the room.

As soon as I made it to the top of the stairs, I heard the others talking from the dining room, probably eating breakfast like they were the morning before when I came here. I rounded the corner, entering the room. Allea and Ciri were making themselves at home, helping the other women fill the table with food. Ethan and Dylan were standing next to Micheal chatting about something that seemed to be light-hearted.

“Good morning” Everyone started spouting off as they noticed me enter the room. I gave a smile and a curt nod to them, making my way over to Ethan and Dylan.

“Here’s some coffee, Alpha Echo.” A youthful woman came up to me, shyly handing me a royal blue mug. I nodded in thanks to her and she quickly scurried away with a blush on her cheeks.

Dylan and Ethan chuckled at the girl before Ethan looked me over skeptically. “Too good to get dressed all the way?” He joked, taking a drink from his own mug.

I turned to face him, rolling my eyes. His eyes widening for a moment in response before an arrogant grin plastered over his face.

“Eventful night?” he prodded satirically, eyeing the mark on my neck.

I shrugged, taking a drink of my coffee.

“Looks like we’ve officially got a luna now.” He laughed. Dylan looked over to us, trying to play catchup on the conversation that he missed as he was lovingly watching his own mate from across the room. Funny, I used to find that beyond ridiculous, now I get it.

“Oh, shit!” He yelled out, covering his mouth with one hand before laughing.

Surprised by his outburst, Allea and Ciri made their way over to me quickly, the rest of the pack in the room looking over to us like we had just spit in their cheerios. I lifted my mug at them apologetically before returning my attention to the others. Ciri squealed, a high pitched joyful sound reaching for my neck. She beamed like a proud mother who just watched her child ride on a bike without training wheels for the first time.

  “She… She… AHHHH”

Ciri pulled me into a hug. “You made the right choice, I am so damn proud of you.” I chuckled as she pulled away.

“You know, the pack will have your head when we get back.” Allea remarked coyly, eyeing her nails in a faux disinterest.

“I highly doubt anyone will say shit. Especially when they are presented with a luna that looks like she could massacre us all.” Ethan shrugged.

I rolled my eyes and took another drink from the mug. I knew damn well I would lose a lot of respect from this, and I knew damn well I was going to probably loose my mother for this, but Ethan made a point. Once back home, the pack would have no choice but to respect her, and by her looks alone, she sure looked like she had earned it prior.

Taking another sip, I felt a warm glow form under my skin and I smiled to myself, feeling her getting closer and closer. Damnit was that something else. Feeling her around so intensely, being able to smell her scent for miles away. Something I never thought I’d love, I was easily becoming obsessed with. I turned myself to face the door as I felt her get closer.

Then in a moment, I watched her tall thin frame come into view from the hallway. Having thrown on a black tank top and grey pajama pants that hung low on her hips, hiding any definition of her legs. Her incredibly long hair was piled in a bun atop of her head, strands flowing out of it here and there freely. Stepping into the room, her eyes immediately met mine and she let out what looked to be a sigh of relief. She yawned and waved her hand at me gently before sliding around the table to get to the kitchen.

“Jesus Christ! What did you do to her?” Dylan cloaked out, almost spitting out his coffee.

I cocked my head to the side, waiting for him to explain what he meant.

“She looks like she got mauled by a bear, what in the actual hell did you two do?”

I chuckled into my cup. Amused that he thought I had something to do with all the marks on her body. Ciri rose on her toes to place a finger over his lips. Quieting him. Suddenly realizing, he hadn’t met Aine yet. And unlike the girls and Ethan, her looks came as a grand surprise to most.

“That isn’t Dom’s doing baby, she’s just scarred like that.” She explained in a hushed tone.

“She was part of the attacks in golden valley.” I dismissively added, taking a drink.

Dylan’s eyes widened for a moment, then he settled. “Sorry.” He rubbed his neck looking at me and I nodded, making it clear to him I wasn’t worried.

I was sure this wouldn’t be the last time this will have to be explained.

Sleepily, Aine entered the dining room again, a cup of coffee held carefully in both of her hands. She walked over to me and I watched as her sister and Daniel muttered amongst themselves looking at her. I watched as she glanced their way, no doubt noticing that they were talking about her, but kept walking as though she hadn’t.

My heart felt like it would stop as she made a beeline for me as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

“Morning.” She groaned, holding her coffee close to her chest. Smiling at me sweetly, her eyes hooded from getting too little sleep. Her neck softy riddled with hickeys that almost left me as proud to see as the mark she made no more attempts to hide on her neck.

“I’m Aine,” She said with a yawn nodding to Dylan who struggled not stare at the scars on her face.

“This is my mate Dylan.” Ciri piped up with a smile before leaning in to hug Aine. She leaned into it, welcoming the embrace, yawning again.

“How did you get scars on your face like that?” Dylan blurted out before taking a step back. Everyone’s eyes darted over to him, pleading with him to shut the hell up. I felt a protective anger building in my chest.

“Don’t answer that.” I barked at Aine, trying to make her feel better, but realizing that it came out far more harsh than I intended.

She let a sleepy smile cross her lips as she looked at me. Then she turned to Dylan, seeing completely unfazed. “Those I did.” She answered with a shrug, taking a sip of her coffee.

  Sixteen

  Haunted
/>   AINE~

“Well, I better go get dressed.” I shrugged.

The small group stared at me wide eyed. Dominic’s eyes pierced mine with almost anger.

“I think you should elaborate.” Dominic commanded at me, his eyes narrowing in on mine. I shrugged again. Turning away from him to face Micheal.

“I’ll train Caireen today, if you don’t mind.”

Micheal nodded, pleased with the idea. “Perfect, I think that would do her some good.”

I smiled, walking out of the dinning area wordlessly. Caireen shot me the most displeased look as I passed her, but I pretended not to see. Knowing that if I ignored her, her anger towards me would only grow, and that is exactly what needed to happen. I hated that we had to fight, but I wasn’t a fool, I realized that it could be used to her advantage.

I made my way back up to my room, stopping to enjoy the breeze through the open window. Having completely forgot about the question about my face. I’ve had these for so long, I barely recognized them. I didn’t fault that guy for asking either. I’m sure if I was in his shoes I would also be curious, I mean, why wouldn’t he be?

I grabbed some fresh clothes and laid them on the bed, and shucked off my pajamas, ready to take a much-needed shower. I turned the water on and brushed my hair through while I waited for it to warm up. Anxiously anticipating the relaxation that came form the scalding water on my skin.

I stepped in quickly, leaning my head back to let the water rush over my face. Mulling over how I wanted to go about training Caireen today. She need to be angry to harness all of what her beast form offered. She needed to learn to use it, not just wear it as a glorified meat suit. As I pondered that thought, my mind drifted off to the beast Dominic had become when he became angry. My memory flashing black to the last time I had saw anything like that. I was just a girl, and that beast wasn’t like what Dominic was, but it was similar. Darker. It didn’t appear to be a wolf like Dominic’s did. Part of me wondered what it would take to see that again. To see if he controlled it.
