[5] καὶ διεμέτρησεν χιλίους, καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο διελθεῖν, ὅτι ἐξύβριζεν τὸ ὕδωρ ὡς ῥοῖζος χειμάρρου, ὃν οὐ διαβήσονται.
[5] and again he measured a thousand; and he could not pass through: for the water rose as of a torrent which men cannot pass over.
[6] καὶ εἶπεν πρός με Εἰ ἑώρακας, υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου; καὶ ἤγαγέν με ἐπὶ τὸ χεῖλος τοῦ ποταμοῦ.
[6] And he said to me, Hast thou seen this, son of man? Then he brought me, and led me back to the brink of the river
[7] ἐν τῇ ἐπιστροφῇ μου καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐπὶ τοῦ χείλους τοῦ ποταμοῦ δένδρα πολλὰ σφόδρα ἔνθεν καὶ ἔνθεν.
[7] as I returned; and, behold, on the brink of the river there were very many trees on this side and on that side.
[8] καὶ εἶπεν πρός με Τὸ ὕδωρ τοῦτο τὸ ἐκπορευόμενον εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν τὴν πρὸς ἀνατολὰς καὶ κατέβαινεν ἐπὶ τὴν Ἀραβίαν καὶ ἤρχετο ἕως ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν ἐπὶ τὸ ὕδωρ τῆς διεκβολῆς, καὶ ὑγιάσει τὰ ὕδατα.
[8] And he said to me, This is the water that goes forth to Galilee that lies eastward, and it is gone down to Arabia, and has reached as far as to the sea to the outlet of the water: and it shall heal the waters.
[9] καὶ ἔσται πᾶσα ψυχὴ τῶν ζῴων τῶν ἐκζεόντων ἐπὶ πάντα, ἐφ’ ἃ ἂν ἐπέλθῃ ἐκεῖ ὁ ποταμός, ζήσεται, καὶ ἔσται ἐκεῖ ἰχθὺς πολὺς σφόδρα, ὅτι ἥκει ἐκεῖ τὸ ὕδωρ τοῦτο, καὶ ὑγιάσει καὶ ζήσεται· πᾶν, ἐφ’ ὃ ἂν ἐπέλθῃ ὁ ποταμὸς ἐκεῖ, ζήσεται.
[9] And it shall come to pass, that every animal of living and moving creatures, all on which the river shall come, shall live: and there shall be there very many fish; for this water shall go thither, and it shall heal them, and they shall live: everything on which the river shall come shall live.
[10] καὶ στήσονται ἐκεῖ ἁλεεῖς ἀπὸ Αινγαδιν ἕως Αιναγαλιμ· ψυγμὸς σαγηνῶν ἔσται, καθ’ αὑτὴν ἔσται, καὶ οἱ ἰχθύες αὐτῆς ὡς οἱ ἰχθύες τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς μεγάλης πλῆθος πολὺ σφόδρα.
[10] And fishers shall stand there from Ingadin to Enagallim; it shall be a place to spread out nets upon; it shall be distinct; and the fishes thereof shall be as the fishes of the great sea, a very great multitude.
[11] καὶ ἐν τῇ διεκβολῇ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τῇ ἐπιστροφῇ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν τῇ ὑπεράρσει αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ ὑγιάσωσιν· εἰς ἅλας δέδονται.
[11] But at the outlet of the water, and the turn of it, and where it overflows its banks, they shall not heal at all; they are given to salt.
[12] καὶ ἐπὶ τοῦ ποταμοῦ ἀναβήσεται ἐπὶ τοῦ χείλους αὐτοῦ ἔνθεν καὶ ἔνθεν πᾶν ξύλον βρώσιμον, οὐ μὴ παλαιωθῇ ἐπ’ αὐτοῦ, οὐδὲ μὴ ἐκλίπῃ ὁ καρπὸς αὐτοῦ· τῆς καινότητος αὐτοῦ πρωτοβολήσει, διότι τὰ ὕδατα αὐτῶν ἐκ τῶν ἁγίων ταῦτα ἐκπορεύεται, καὶ ἔσται ὁ καρπὸς αὐτῶν εἰς βρῶσιν καὶ ἀνάβασις αὐτῶν εἰς ὑγίειαν.
[12] And every fruit tree shall grow by the river, even on the bank of it on this side and on that side: they shall not decay upon it, neither shall their fruit fail: they shall bring forth the first-fruit of their early crop, for these their waters come forth of the sanctuary: and their fruit shall be for meat, and their foliage for health.
[13] Τάδε λέγει κύριος θεός Ταῦτα τὰ ὅρια κατακληρονομήσετε τῆς γῆς, ταῖς δώδεκα φυλαῖς τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ πρόσθεσις σχοινίσματος.
[13] Thus saith the Lord God; Ye shall inherit these borders of the land; they are given by lot to the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
[14] καὶ κατακληρονομήσετε αὐτὴν ἕκαστος καθὼς ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ, εἰς ἣν ἦρα τὴν χεῖρά μου τοῦ δοῦναι αὐτὴν τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτῶν, καὶ πεσεῖται ἡ γῆ αὕτη ὑμῖν ἐν κληρονομίᾳ.
[14] And ye shall inherit it, each according to his brother’s portion, even the land concerning which I lifted up my hand to give it to your fathers: and this land shall fall to you by lot.
[15] καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὅρια τῆς γῆς πρὸς βορρᾶν· ἀπὸ τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς μεγάλης τῆς καταβαινούσης καὶ περισχιζούσης τῆς εἰσόδου Ημαθ Σεδδαδα,
[15] And these are the borders of the land that lies northward, from the great sea that comes down, and divides the entrance of Emaseldam;
[16] Βηρωθα, Σεβραιμ, Ηλιαμ, ἀνὰ μέσον ὁρίων Δαμασκοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ὁρίων Ημαθ, αὐλὴ τοῦ Σαυναν, αἵ εἰσιν ἐπάνω τῶν ὁρίων Αυρανίτιδος.
[16] Maabthera, Ebrameliam, between the coasts of Damascus and the coasts of Emathi, the habitation of Saunan, which places are above the coasts of Auranitis.
[17] ταῦτα τὰ ὅρια ἀπὸ τῆς θαλάσσης ἀπὸ τῆς αὐλῆς τοῦ Αιναν, ὅρια Δαμασκοῦ καὶ τὰ πρὸς βορρᾶν.
[17] These are the borders from the sea, from the habitations of Ænan, the coasts of Damascus, and the northern coasts.
[18] καὶ τὰ πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς Αυρανίτιδος καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Δαμασκοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς Γαλααδίτιδος καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς γῆς τοῦ Ισραηλ, ὁ Ιορδάνης διορίζει ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν πρὸς ἀνατολὰς Φοινικῶνος· ταῦτα τὰ πρὸς ἀνατολάς.
[18] And the eastern coasts between Loranitis, and Damascus, and the land of Galaad, and the land of Israel, the Jordan divides to the sea that is east of the city of palm-trees. These are the eastern coasts.
[19] καὶ τὰ πρὸς νότον καὶ λίβα ἀπὸ Θαιμαν καὶ Φοινικῶνος ἕως ὕδατος Μαριμωθ Καδης παρεκτεῖνον ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν μεγάλην· τοῦτο τὸ μέρος νότος καὶ λίψ.
[19] And the southern and south-western coasts are from Thaeman and the city of palm-trees, to the water of Marimoth Cadem, reaching forth to the great sea. This part is the south and south-west.
[20] τοῦτο τὸ μέρος τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς μεγάλης· ὁρίζει ἕως κατέναντι τῆς εἰσόδου Ημαθ ἕως εἰσόδου αὐτοῦ· ταῦτά ἐστιν τὰ πρὸς θάλασσαν Ημαθ.
[20] This part of the great sea forms a border, till one comes opposite the entrance of Emath, even as far as the entrance thereof. These are the parts west of Emath.
[21] καὶ διαμερίσετε τὴν γῆν ταύτην αὐτοῖς, ταῖς φυλαῖς τοῦ Ισραηλ.
[21] So ye shall divide this land to them, even to the tribes of Israel.
[22] βαλεῖτε αὐτὴν ἐν κλήρῳ ὑμῖν καὶ τοῖς προσηλύτοις τοῖς παροικοῦσιν ἐν μέσῳ ὑμῶν, οἵτινες ἐγέννησαν υἱοὺς ἐν μέσῳ ὑμῶν· καὶ ἔσονται ὑμῖν ὡς αὐτόχθονες ἐν
τοῖς υἱοῖς τοῦ Ισραηλ, μεθ’ ὑμῶν φάγονται ἐν κληρονομίᾳ ἐν μέσῳ τῶν φυλῶν τοῦ Ισραηλ·
[22] Ye shall cast the lot upon it, for yourselves and the strangers that sojourn in the midst of you, who have begotten children in the midst of you: and they shall be to you as natives among the children of Israel; they shall eat with you in their inheritance in the midst of the tribes of Israel.
[23] καὶ ἔσονται ἐν φυλῇ προσηλύτων ἐν τοῖς προσηλύτοις τοῖς μετ’ αὐτῶν, ἐκεῖ δώσετε κληρονομίαν αὐτοῖς, λέγει κύριος θεός.
[23] And they shall be in the tribe of proselytes among the proselytes that are with them: there shall ye give them an inheritance, saith the Lord God.
CHAPTER 48
[1] Καὶ ταῦτα τὰ ὀνόματα τῶν φυλῶν· ἀπὸ τῆς ἀρχῆς τῆς πρὸς βορρᾶν κατὰ τὸ μέρος τῆς καταβάσεως τοῦ περισχίζοντος ἐπὶ τὴν εἴσοδον τῆς Ημαθ αὐλῆς τοῦ Αιναν, ὅριον Δαμασκοῦ πρὸς βορρᾶν κατὰ μέρος Ημαθ αὐλῆς, καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῖς τὰ πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ἕως πρὸς θάλασσαν Δαν, μία.
[1] And these are the names of the tribes from the northern corner, on the side of the decent that draws a line to the entrance of Emath the palace of Ælam, the border of Damascus northward on the side of Emath the palace; and they shall have the eastern parts as far as the sea, for Dan, one portion.
[2] καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων τοῦ Δαν τὰ πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ἕως τῶν πρὸς θάλασσαν Ασηρ, μία.
[2] And from the borders of Dan eastward as far as the west sea-coast, for Asser, one.
[3] καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων Ασηρ ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ἕως τῶν πρὸς θάλασσαν Νεφθαλιμ, μία.
[3] And from the borders of Asser, from the eastern parts as far as the west coasts, for Nephthalim, one.
[4] καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων Νεφθαλι ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ἕως τῶν πρὸς θάλασσαν Μανασση, μία.
[4] And from the borders of Nephthalim, from the east as far as the west coasts, for Manasse, one.
[5] καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων Μανασση ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ἕως τῶν πρὸς θάλασσαν Εφραιμ, μία.
[5] And from the borders of Manasse, from the eastern parts as far as the west coasts, for Ephraim, one.
[6] καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων Εφραιμ ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ἕως τῶν πρὸς θάλασσαν Ρουβην, μία.
[6] And from the borders of Ephraim, from the eastern parts to the west coasts, for Ruben, one.
[7] καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων Ρουβην ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ἕως τῶν πρὸς θάλασσαν Ιουδα, μία.
[7] And from the borders of Ruben, from the eastern parts as far as the west coasts, for Juda, one.
[8] Καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων Ιουδα ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς ἀνατολὰς ἕως τῶν πρὸς θάλασσαν ἔσται ἡ ἀπαρχὴ τοῦ ἀφορισμοῦ, πέντε καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδες εὖρος καὶ μῆκος καθὼς μία τῶν μερίδων ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς ἀνατολὰς καὶ ἕως τῶν πρὸς θάλασσαν, καὶ ἔσται τὸ ἅγιον ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν·
[8] And from the borders of Juda, from the eastern parts shall be the offering of first-fruits, in the breadth twenty-five thousand reeds, and in length as one of the portions measured from the east even to the western parts: and the sanctuary shall be in the midst of them.
[9] ἀπαρχή, ἣν ἀφοριοῦσι τῷ κυρίῳ, μῆκος πέντε καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδες καὶ εὖρος εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε χιλιάδες.
[9] As for the first-fruits which they shall offer to the Lord, it shall be in length twenty-five thousand, and in breadth twenty-five thousand.
[10] τούτων ἔσται ἡ ἀπαρχὴ τῶν ἁγίων· τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν, πρὸς βορρᾶν πέντε καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδες καὶ πρὸς θάλασσαν πλάτος δέκα χιλιάδες καὶ πρὸς ἀνατολὰς πλάτος δέκα χιλιάδες καὶ πρὸς νότον μῆκος εἴκοσι καὶ πέντε χιλιάδες, καὶ τὸ ὄρος τῶν ἁγίων ἔσται ἐν μέσῳ αὐτοῦ·
[10] Out of this shall be the first-fruits of the holy things to the priests, northward, five and twenty-thousand, and towards the west, ten thousand, and southward, five and twenty thousand: and the mountain of the sanctuary, shall be in the midst of it,
[11] τοῖς ἱερεῦσι τοῖς ἡγιασμένοις υἱοῖς Σαδδουκ τοῖς φυλάσσουσι τὰς φυλακὰς τοῦ οἴκου, οἵτινες οὐκ ἐπλανήθησαν ἐν τῇ πλανήσει υἱῶν Ισραηλ ὃν τρόπον ἐπλανήθησαν οἱ Λευῖται,
[11] for the priests, for the consecrated sons of Sadduc, who keep the charges of the house, who erred not in the error of the children of Israel, as the Levites erred.
[12] καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῖς ἡ ἀπαρχὴ δεδομένη ἐκ τῶν ἀπαρχῶν τῆς γῆς, ἅγιον ἁγίων ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων τῶν Λευιτῶν.
[12] And the first-fruits shall be given to them out of the first-fruits of the land, even a most holy portion from the borders of the Levites.
[13] τοῖς δὲ Λευίταις τὰ ἐχόμενα τῶν ὁρίων τῶν ἱερέων, μῆκος πέντε καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδες καὶ εὖρος δέκα χιλιάδες. πᾶν τὸ μῆκος πέντε καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδες καὶ εὖρος εἴκοσι χιλιάδες.
[13] And the Levites shall have the part, next to the borders of the priests, in length twenty-five thousand, and in breadth ten thousand: the whole length shall be five and twenty thousand, and the breadth twenty thousand.
[14] οὐ πραθήσεται ἐξ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ καταμετρηθήσεται, οὐδὲ ἀφαιρεθήσεται τὰ πρωτογενήματα τῆς γῆς, ὅτι ἅγιόν ἐστιν τῷ κυρίῳ.
[14] No part of it shall be sold, nor measured as for sale, neither shall the first-fruits of the land be taken away: for they are holy to the Lord.
[15] τὰς δὲ πέντε χιλιάδας τὰς περισσὰς ἐπὶ τῷ πλάτει ἐπὶ ταῖς πέντε καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάσιν, προτείχισμα ἔσται τῇ πόλει εἰς τὴν κατοικίαν καὶ εἰς διάστημα αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔσται ἡ πόλις ἐν μέσῳ αὐτοῦ.
[15] But concerning the five thousand that remain in the breadth in the five and twenty thousand, they shall be a suburb to the city for dwelling, and for a space before it: and the city shall be in the midst thereof.
[16] καὶ ταῦτα τὰ μέτρα αὐτῆς· ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς βορρᾶν πεντακόσιοι καὶ τετρακισχίλιοι καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς νότον πεντακόσιοι καὶ τέσσαρες χιλιάδες καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς ἀνατολὰς πεντακόσιοι καὶ τέσσαρες χιλιάδες καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν πρὸς θάλασσαν τετρακισχιλίους πεντακοσίους·
[16] And these shall be its dimensions; from the northern side four thousand and five hundred, and from the southern side four thousand and five hundred, and from the eastern side four thousand and five hundred, and from the western side they shall measure four thousand five hundred.

[17] καὶ ἔσται διάστημα τῇ πόλει πρὸς βορρᾶν διακόσιοι πεντήκοντα καὶ πρὸς νότον διακόσιοι καὶ πεντήκοντα καὶ πρὸς ἀνατολὰς διακόσιοι πεντήκοντα καὶ πρὸς θάλασσαν διακόσιοι πεντήκοντα.
[17] And there shall be a space to the city northward two hundred and fifty, and southward two hundred and fifty, and eastward two hundred and fifty, and westward two hundred and fifty.
[18] καὶ τὸ περισσὸν τοῦ μήκους τὸ ἐχόμενον τῶν ἀπαρχῶν τῶν ἁγίων δέκα χιλιάδες πρὸς ἀνατολὰς καὶ δέκα χιλιάδες πρὸς θάλασσαν, καὶ ἔσονται αἱ ἀπαρχαὶ τοῦ ἁγίου, καὶ ἔσται τὰ γενήματα αὐτῆς εἰς ἄρτους τοῖς ἐργαζομένοις τὴν πόλιν·
[18] And the remainder of the length that is next to the first-fruits of the holy portion shall be ten thousand eastward, and ten thousand westward: and they shall be the first-fruits of the sanctuary; and the fruits thereof shall be for bread to them that labour for the city.
[19] οἱ δὲ ἐργαζόμενοι τὴν πόλιν ἐργῶνται αὐτὴν ἐκ πασῶν τῶν φυλῶν τοῦ Ισραηλ.
[19] And they that labour for the city shall labour for it out of all the tribes of Israel.
[20] πᾶσα ἡ ἀπαρχὴ πέντε καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδες ἐπὶ πέντε καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδας· τετράγωνον ἀφοριεῖτε αὐτοῦ τὴν ἀπαρχὴν τοῦ ἁγίου ἀπὸ τῆς κατασχέσεως τῆς πόλεως.
[20] The whole offering shall be a square of twenty-five thousand by twenty-five thousand: ye shall separate again part of it, the first-fruits of the sanctuary, from the possession of the city.
