Without a Doubt Page 25

Newly formed friendships are amazing and even though cousins aren’t newly formed, sometimes life gets so busy we forget to stay in contact and, when we catch up, it seems as if they’re new! This year, circumstances have changed and more time has been found, which has made for wonderful times spent with ‘the cousins’. Times I’ll treasure forever. Tan, M’Lis, Ben and Laurs—love you much! And you too, AJ and UG!

Mum, Dad, Nicholas and Susan, along with Rochelle, Hayden and Garry, you make my world right.

To my non-blood sisters—Cal, Heather and Robyn. Well now, aren’t we good together? And non-blood family—Lauren and Graham, Ewin, Michaela, Jan and Pete.

The rest of my beautiful friends—you all know who you are. Love you long time.

My Rotary family, especially Paul and Lee, Tom, Wal, Gaz and Katie (even though you ran away!), Schmedj, Brian and Al.

Special thanks to Windy, who spent hours on the phone with me, talking stock theft, tail tags and crime that seems far too weird to be true. Fact is stranger than fiction is pretty apt!

My beautiful Jack-the-kelpie who still walks miles alongside me, listens as I talk to myself as I muse over storylines (and doesn’t think I’m strange!) and who looks at me as if I’m the best thing he’s ever seen. Keep it up, Jack. I need you!

Again, to the wonderful crew at Allen & Unwin—Annette, Christa, Julia, Tom, KM and Issy (and everyone behind the scenes). Thank you for your dedication to making my novels as good as they can be and for helping send them into the wild world with as much fanfare as you can.

Gaby Naher from The Naher Agency, agent and friend, who I couldn’t do all this without.

I have a beautiful friend, Chrissy, who has always told me, when I feel like I have nothing to say, ‘People need your books. They bring hope.’ I’m sure she’s only being nice, but it is certainly all you readers who spur me on when the creative tank is empty. Thank you for reading my stories. If they bring you escapism, I’m happy and I’ve done my job. Keep smiling; the world needs you.
