“I’m thinking Vegas would be the perfect spot.” I kiss him on the lips. “And I know of a few guys who could really use some yoga.” I wink, my hands roaming his body. “One in particular still needs help with his downward dog position…” Kiss. “I’d need to show him how it’s done…” Kiss. “Maybe bend over and get into position myself.”
“Yes, yes, yes.” He growls, nipping at my shoulder, his hand on my thigh, his cock growing hard beneath me, but my phone buzzes again. “Throw it away.”
I gently bite his lower lip, much more comfortable with my sexuality now than ever before, thanks to a certain chiseled male dancer who knows all the right ways to loosen me up.
Standing up, I put my phone to my ear. “Hey Bailey. What’s up?”
In my periphery, Ty smiles, making it hard for me to focus on what Bailey’s saying. We’ve gotten even closer the last few weeks. Sometimes, it seems like she thinks of me as a big sister. She has two older brothers, so I’m happy to step in, especially since she’s been struggling with boys and classes lately.
And just like any good big sister would do, I brought her to Vegas to celebrate her twenty-first birthday with half-naked guys and plenty of booze.
I never thought I’d say this, but I think I might be a bad influence.
“Sounds like fun. We’ll be down in a minute. Bye.” I hang up and stop pacing.
Turning around, I find Ty, his erection unapologetic as he idly strokes himself, silently begging me to come back to bed. I clear my throat and swallow down my urge. I will never get enough of this man. My fiancé.
“I think Bailey needs rescuing from your idiot friends.”
He chuckles but doesn’t stop his movement. “A cute redhead stuck with a bunch of strippers? I bet.”
I jump back into bed, straddling him, my leg muscles sore from my workout yesterday and from squeezing them around his waist as he drove into me against the wall. We couldn’t even make it to the bed when we got to the hotel room after his proposal.
He tucks my hair behind my ear, and I swallow. “You’re sure about the new studio? I don’t want to make you feel like you have to move here if you don’t truly want to.”
“Yes.” I smile at how thoughtful he is. “I already went to the bank last week, and my dad offered his help. Again.”
“What did you say?”
“I accepted it, for once. Not out of necessity, but more for him. He seemed happy when I said yes. Like it makes him happy to help me succeed.”
“And I’m happy for you both.” He grins at me. “What does your mom think?”
I think back to my visit with my mom, right after her accident. She had dark circles under her eyes, and she complained about the withdrawals. Other than that, she seemed to have come to terms with her situation and was trying to get better. Talking with her on the phone lately, she seems like she really is doing better.
The sadness is still in her voice, but she’s been laughing more. The familiar yet distant sound stops me in my tracks.
It makes me smile and gives me hope.
I twirl the ring on my finger, excited to tell her and my dad the news. I sigh, biting my bottom lip before I answer Ty’s question. “She’s adjusting. I think we all have a little way to go to heal.”
“At least you’re trying.” A darkness passes over his expression briefly. “It gives me hope that one day, my parents and I will work things out too. Since my sister died, we’ve only spoken about thirteen times—one phone call a year.”
“If we’ve learned anything this year, it’s that people deal with grief in their own way and in their own time. Even though you’re still hurting, you’ve come around. Give them time to pull out of the same darkness.”
“Until then, I have my ohana right here.” He squeezes my arms, then leans up to kiss me.
I repeat the word to him, tilting my head in question to make sure I’m saying it right.
“How do you manage to make it sound Irish?”
“I do not.”
“You do, and it’s adorable.”
“If you say so.” I smile, kissing him softly as he runs his hands up and down my thighs. “We have to meet Bailey downstairs.”
He groans, pushing his erection upward as I climb off with a giggle. “And what am I supposed to do with this?”
“Think about anything non-sexy. How about the guy outside who threw up next to you earlier?”
He looks down. “Yep. That took care of it.”
Pulling my dress on, I laugh, then throw him his shirt.
We head down to the lobby, hand in hand. He stops me and kisses my hand in the hall. “Sometimes I feel like my sister is still watching over me. You came into my life when I needed it most, and it feels like she sent you to me. To have a partner, so I don’t feel alone.”
My heart actually skips a beat as I absorb his words like my skin absorbs sunshine. “I believe she might have. And she did us both a favor.”
He then pushes me against the wall, the hall empty, and kisses me until I’m panting, my body on fire again. For him.
For us.
“Let’s go.” He grabs my hand and continues walking.
Moving forward.
Together.
“And we have Sebastian and Kendall to thank for bringing us together.” I skip to catch up with his walking speed.
“Please don’t give that guy any more credit. His head’s already so big with his new hotel business and being a husband, it might fall off if we thank him too.”
I throw my head back and laugh. “True. Kendall doesn’t need that, either. Not since she won that supplement company’s contest for a sponsorship. She could be taken down a notch.”
“What terrible friends we have.”
I laugh again, feeling lighter than ever. “The best kind.”
Walking hand in hand, we meet said friends who congratulate us again on our engagement and our new life together.
At the club, Ty and I are still in our own bubble of bliss, only popping out to save Bailey from Jordan’s antics.
“What? We’re just getting to know each other here,” he claims innocently.
Leo steps in. “Are you sure you want her to know you? Might scare her off with your inability to count.”
“I stayed on beat tonight.” Jordan winks at Bailey. “You saw me, right?”
Bailey blushes, making me giggle.
It’s good to see her having fun after what she told me happened with Mason. It turns out, she was in love with him all these years but never told him. And when she finally did, they decided to give it a shot, only to find out she didn’t really like him that way. According to her, it was like kissing her brother.
And now is the time to forget about it and have fun. That’s what Vegas is for, after all.
Tequila and bad choices that might even turn out to be good ones.
Jordan wraps his arm around her shoulders and asks to buy her a drink. Leo continues to run interference while Ty and I dance.
As the night progresses, Ty frequently steals kisses, wrapping a strong arm around my waist. He doesn’t let go.
For so long, I hated the reason I’d come to LA in the first place.
But had that not happened, I wouldn’t be here with my new friends. My new fiancé.
My new life.
I wasn’t always thankful at first, but all it took was to let loose for Ty to make me realize what I was missing out on.
Love.
Peace.
Life.
The End
